    From my experimenting, inverted wingers give relative width (stay just outside of the opposition full backs), while normal wingers give absolute width (get close to the touchline). It also depends on your team instructions, of course.

    2Vol(a) DM(s) IFB Lib(s) CD(d) IWB(d) My latest experiment is to use a DLP instead of a standard DM. Early results look encouraging.

    Hi guys, just an observation. One of the things I wanted to try in the beta was a 4-2-3-1 that turns into 3-2-5, with a lib in support and a 2vol in attack. I tried a variation, turning one of the IFBs into an IWB in defend, and the team just plays significantly better, they like having the extra passing option in midfield and aren't that much more vulnerable at the back (probably because one extra player can commit to the counterpress). What are everyone's views on this?

    Yeah, I'm conceding a bunch of goals thanks to my defense being all over the place. I wish I had the editor so I can max cohesion and test if that's the cause.

    Does anyone else think players aren't very good at defensive positioning? Could be an issue with cohesion, though.

    Not me, it's all mindless clickwork. I praise my players' training every week if they deserve it, but it's still a chore.

    Not saying you're wrong, but you shouldn't take Transfermarkt values as gospel, they're often made up from thin air.

    That's not it, I mean the new set piece window where you tell the coach what features you want (inswinger or outswinger, how many players go forward/stay back, etc..) and it creates the routines for you.

    Yeah, the invert trigger for IWBs is when a midfielder or forward controls the ball, that has carried over from FM23 (and probably earlier). Would be neat if it were a changeable option.

    This is more or less why I'm almost sure I'll do Cerezo Osaka in my Japan save. Those pink kits are fine.

    Yeah, the squad planner turned out to be useful for me, to check how well potential signings fit into my tactics.

    I'll reserve final judgment until I see it in real life, but based on how it works in FM I kinda like it. I'd make a few tweaks, though.

    At least since 21 (I can't remember before that) you could see past results against each team, but it always was kinda buggy. Maybe they fixed that?

    Everyone who scores an 8 or higher during the week, in all squads. It's very common once the season gets going.

    Please, don't make me click "praise player for training" 30 separate times every in-game Friday. That's all I ask for quality of life improvements.

    Borrowing Gunner's example: Normal: Ansu Fati starts the save at Brighton. Real World: Ansu Fati starts the save at Barcelona, is hardcoded to move to Brighton at the deadline. Your World: Ansu Fati starts the save at Barcelona, with no restrictions. Presumably, alll not-hardcoded movements will be disabled for the first window in Real World mode.

    I remember reading it would be the week starting on the 16th, but now I can't remember where I read it.

    How smart are players now about positioning without the ball? In a 4-2-3-1, I usually put the 10 and the striker in different vertical channels so that they know which defender to pick up while pressing, is this still necessary?
