Hey guys During the beta I was experimenting with a 4-4-2, with a Segundo Volante bombing forward and and Inverted Wingback plugging the hole behind him. Results were somewhat mixed, until I noticed in the tooltips that IWBs don't invert as well when the formation has two DMCs, which put an end to that experiment. This is more or less what I wanted to achieve while in possession, any tips on how to get there?

Dortmund and Napoli were Pot 3 in this season's real life Champions League, and Arsenal haven't been too great in Europe lately, so they could conceivably be Pot 3 in your save (unless they just won their respective leagues). Newcastle is going to need a few seasons to build up their coefficient, they will be a Pot 4 monster until then. As said above, I think you just got unlucky.

I'm about to start the 23/24 season in my save, and in the qualification places page there is a new Europa League column, with the leagues ranked 17 to 32 sending one team each. Does it now have a Q2 round, and SI forgot to label it as such?

My Defensive Mids in support duty do that all the time in my tactic.

I haven't gotten to it yet on my save, but checking it out was one of the big reasons I bought 23 even though I also have 22. I'm keeping an open mind about it at least until we get to it in real life. Teams no longer dropping from Champions to Europa (or from Europa to Conference) after the league stages is something I like as a fan but maybe don't like as much as an FM player. The narrow window to win Europa or Conference in a long term save maybe gets even narrower? I have a question: I remember reading that the new format will no longer have draws for the knockout stages, they are all set up according to league phase positions. Does this apply in FM?

Wouldn't a wide diamond leave too many gaps in the middle? Also, you can use the 2 in a narrow diamond as carrileros or mezzale to add that extra width. On the other hand, I did a wide diamond to good effect way back in FM07, so...

For example, is a CM(a) a more offensive player than a CM(s) with Get Further Forward, even though they would have the same instructions?

A couple of things for now. - I think this one runs faster than 21 and 22, Nice to see, although I just now got started with my (hopefully) long term save. - The Match Engine could be a great one after it is patched. But right now there are too many defender brainfarts leading to goals (and most of them are goals against me).
