  1. Who in the world approved that Portal screen? I hope to God that is a mobile / console screenshot because I can't even begin to express how bad it is. The only valid reason I can think of is that they want to dumb it out for new players - if your aim is to bring more players, why brag about the record numbers in the exact same post? Dumbing the entire interface down means a couple of things - an insult to the player's intelligence, a lack of usability testing, and a terrible precendent for the game's UX. I doubt that they removed any other features than those menitoned so in that case, all of the actions you could take from a single screen (your home) in previous FMs have been moved behind god knows how many layers and layers of clicks. I am a UX designer myself so I can be a bit biased, but from experience, no designers in their right mind would ruin a perfectly working and successful product by running a complete overhaul of its interface that millions of people already have familiarity with. Not sure what the direction is here or what problem this is meant to solve. FM is a very complex game and can be difficult to learn in time, and it can be improved and even simplified, but this isn't working for me. It genuinely looks like it could be AI generated.
  2. Okay, let's go through some of your points Fair, that makes sense. But it doesn't 'just go up', it very rarely goes up at all. For those members that can use coaching coarses, sure. For sport scientists, physios and so on - they do change in time. My point is around scouts and DoF - that start as freshly retired players - don't go up in time, or do go up very slowly. Pleased to show more examples. Here is a list of all directors of football with a minimum of 15 JCA/JPA in the year 2041. Show all staff in search using the ingame editor is turned on, and I unchecked all staff interested in my club so it should be showing all of them in the game. Out of 115 results, not a single one of them is a former player that retired during my save game. The game resorts to generating good DoFs by itself - which is fine in part, but you can't tell me that in 18 ingame years not a single former player DOF should have managed to reach a 15 JCA/JPA. Let's reduce the parameters so we can include freshly retired staff players, and include a decent PA of 150 to only include those that could actually reach a better JCA/JPA. We've reached some familiar names - so there are some real players retired as staff. You can see that not a single one of them is employed in two pages of scrolling - apart from Darwin Machis who has been moved with the ingame editor by me as he's a former player of mine. I can go through each one of those employed to show that they are regen staff if you don't believe me. Moreso, you can see that the list very quickly dries off - not a single scroll page and we're back to game-generated staff members. That means that those that met these parameters across the last 18 years have been retiring constantly because they didn't get hired anywhere nor their stats increased to do so. For whatever reason, Trent has not retired - although he couldn't get hired in the last 8 years due to his poor stats, despite his 177 PA. Let's also look at scouts. Keep in mind that I managed Santa Alzate, Marseille, and Inter so far - so those you see hired by those teams were specifically hired by me. I scrolled three pages until the age of 47 - which should cover a lot of retired players during my save game. Out of all of these scouts, there are 9 former players - and 8 were hired by me, the player. The rest have already been employed scouts at the start of the game. So that means that out of all of the players that retired as staff, only one of them managed to reach these numbers organically, without the player's input. I can go lower and keep counting but I can asure you, there are not many examples like him left. That was never my point. Of course they start with lower stats - as it should be. The problem is - as I repeatedly reported - is that they cannot find a job in time to increase those stats because the game auto-retires them if unemployed for 2-3 years. It doesn't matter if a very high reputation player (let's say a Modric or a Busquets) just retired with bad stats but 190+ PA - if nobody hires them because of terrible CA the game will auto retire them and there is nothing that can be done about it. I have provided many examples about this and I can spend days providing more. Feel free to test it yourselves - shortlist some 170+ PA retired players and see if they are still in the game 3-4 years after. Here is the thread for more details
  3. You might know me as I often post about the staff side of things in FM. I always like to track what high potential new staff (freshly retired players) do in the game and I keep them shortlisted across my saves. I often complained that the game auto-retires any staff member that doesn't get a job in 2-or-so years, regardless of their PA (next Guardiola with 190 PA is probably retired at 36 because no club will sign them) This time I'd like to talk about two topics: The scouts and the DOFs Firsly, i've noticed that the DOFs do not increase their stats at all in time. their CA and attributes will remain the same in 10 years. More so, the AI clubs will never renew their contracts if they are moved by the player with the editor. So I kept track of some of these players retired as DOFs with high potential and moved them to clubs using the ingame editor so they can develop in time. In less than 3 years, most of them were fired and retired in less than a year after. Only one remained active, which is Krzysztof Piatek. And 10 years later, he is stuck at his initial CA of 114, with a PA of 173, his Judging CA and PA attributes remaining the same. Unfortunately I don't have more examples to show at this time, but it's happened to the rest of those i've tracked. (screenshots attached). I am running my custom league editor data hence the weird teams in history, but that shouldn't influence any staff development mechanics. Second, I'd like to talk about scouts. I've also been tracking scouts, and unfortunately, there is a huge lack of them in longer saves. They do develop their attributes in time, however that being incredibly slowly. Thankfully, in FM24 we get staff attribute green arrows so I could finally see when that happens - and I've noticed that the only time scouts get stats increase is a tick at the end of the season, around June. And it's very likely that it's less than a bump of 1 whole point per year. The game very rarely turns a player into a staff member with more than 12 judging CA/PA attributes, and by keeping track of loads of these new scouts with high PAs, I have concluded that it takes more than 15 years for a scout to get decent stats for the top teams. There are plenty of real life scouts that start with very high stats (scouts in their 30's with 18+ JCA/JPA) but the scouts that the game generates will reach these numbers in their 50s and 60s. Combine this with the issue that teams very rarely hire freshly retired players and those staff members retire if not hired in 2 years, and all of this leads to one thing - a severe lack of good scouts in longer term saves. Take the screenshots - there are 238 scouts of +16 JCA/JPA in my save in 2040 and only a single one is a staff member that didn't start the game (retired player). There are 54 of +18 JCA/JPA and not a single one is a new addition (retired player or freshly generated). Obviously t's not a bad number at this stage, might be even higher than the start of the save (can't check now) but we need to consider that the pool for staff that could reach this JCA/JPA number has most likely dried at this point so the rate will only go down as most of these +60 years old scouts will retire soon.
  4. Thanks for this, let me shake your hand. Looks like the data files aren't tested on the 24.3 so they don't work. I coult do that and test it out but don't have time today
  5. Updated to work properly with 24.3. Graphics folder will need replacing with the updated version as the config has changed.
  6. Is it just me that finds player contracts ridiculous in longer saves? I just got a decent youth intake with one or two 4-5 star potential players. Offering them their contracts, they instantly demand future playing time and a promise of a loan. 15 year olds coming through the ranks should never be asking for loans. Then onto the contract negotiations: 750k per year, 1.4 mil after 10 apps, 1.9 mil after 20 apps, with a 15% yearly wage increase to top it off. It's just ridiculous these last few years. And it doesn't just happen to the player. Every club with high income has the same issue. Just looking at Barcelona B, their keeper has a salary of 3.8mil per season and they signed a 50k backup B team keeper that they are paying 4.28 mil per season.
  7. Is there a mod or a way that changes Spanish/German B teams and replaces them with normal reserves teams? I hate managing in those countries solely because of the B team system
  8. Currently it's very hard to spot actual achievments from AI managers in their history tab. All the fluff like 'won in FA Cup Round 20' can get very busy so actual achievements like trophies / UCL finals get overshadowed. In a long term save it's very hard to find which managers have done well and which haven't. I'd say either remove all the unnecessary 'won in X round' or make a separate tab for trophies where you can only see trophies and finals.
  9. Has player selections in awards (Goal50 especially, but also Ballon D'or, FIFA Player of the Year) been ever aknowledged as a bug by SI? I've seen it reported plenty of times recently, especially for GOAL50 picking the same players regardless of performance/league and not picking regens at all. My player scored 78 goals in a season (59 goals in 30 league games) and has carried that on next season with 30 in 19, yes he hasn't made the top 50 list and didn't show up in the top3 for Ballon D'or or FIFA POTY.
  10. I've been experiencing this as well. It seems like it happens to the AI too. So a lof of the staff that is supposed to move just ends up fired. Any news on this ? @Michael Sant @Zachary Whyte
  11. Is there a bug that prevents your backroom staff from moving to your new club? I reloaded a save to double check and it seems to be. I select all my changes and the day I move only a handful of my staff actually moved, the rest get fired from my ex-team. I think none of the first team coaches moved.
  12. Just came back to this thread after a few months of enjoying the game so I can discuss the new update, only to find the biggest echo chamber of the month. The game and the ME is more than fine, the best its been in years. It's nowhere near as bad as these comments and I can't be the only one who actually enjoys the game. I've done my fair share of bug reporting, especially in this edition. I'm also frustrated that they haven't fixed most of them, but the game is more than enojayable this way too and this whining is a bit ridiculous
  13. I've noticed this bug from a few editions ago, but for some reason I always forgot to report it. The option to send and aging player (31+ I think?) to do a coaching course just doesn't work anymore on a longer term save. I'd say somewhere 5+ seasons in. Starting a new save, you can send every 31+ player in your team to do a coaching course. At the end of the season for the first, second and third season, you get a ton of players retiring as staff - even if they later on they decide to retire alltogether if they don't get any offers, most freshly retired players have the staff attributes section available. In every longer term save I did, the pool becomes smaller and smaller, with only a handful of new staff at the end of the season, as most retired players choose to dissappear from football. I think there is a bug somewhere that stops players from retiring as staff, hence turning off the option to send on coaching courses alltogether. This is a bit hard to prove with examples, but I think running an experiment to compare end of first season, end of second season and end of 6th season might be very helpful If you look in the screenshots, there are over 4000 players with staff attributes in December 2025, and only 292 in November 2029. Only 21 high potential players retiring as staff of all types in 2029, compared to 172 in 2025. You would be inclined to say that you get the players that retired in the first seasons in the larger pool of options, but no. I've raised it many times that the fresh staff who can't find a job in the first 2-3 years will retire completely from the game, regardless of their PA. The game will instead resort to creating staff regens to fill up the roles left behind by real staff retiring of old age, starting from the lower leagues and moving to the national teams. I've seen the game spawn a manager only for the Netherlands national team, with no experience or history in the past, because the pool for the AI to choose from has ran out.
  14. Is anyone else experiencing low ratings for centre backs? No matter if I'm winning a game 6-0, unless a CB scores a goal, they get low ratings every match. If I'm losing, they get low 6's or high 5's. I have world class CBs on 6.8 average ratings in treble winning seaons. I tried other tactics and roles, but my CBs always end up with low ratings.
  15. I would really like it if I didn't have to redo this entire process every single time one of my coaches leave.
  16. I've just noticed this in my save. My staff member, Head of Youth Development in this case, announced that he will retire in a few days. I found a replacement and offered them a contract. I wanted to sign the replacement before my current HOYD retires, so that my training assigments and staff responsabilities don't reset. Even if my current HOYD is retiring in a few days, I had to pay the full termination of the remaining years on the contract. It's a bit ridiculous to pay the full amount just so you don't have the responsabilities reset. It should either - have an option for the current member to join after the current member retires (instead of contract start - imeediate) - not charge me the full amount for termination - not reset the resposabilities after my current member retires.
  17. It replaces Gibraltar and yes, it plays in all the competitions.
  18. Intro In a fantasy world, Cartagena rises to conquer Gibraltar and colonize the empty Saharas. Today, its people find entertainment in football. Its rich cities have given birth to hundreds of football teams, but only 20 can play in the Liga Royale, with the others having to rise through the ranks of the 5 leagues to get a spot. The Champions League, Europa League and Conference League welcome these new challengers that will have to get out of coefficient hell. A little project backstory I started this project in FM13 as a very small personal job. I then moved everything over to FM16 and started adding more leagues. In FM19 and then later on FM21, I worked hard to expand this project and create unique teams, stadiums, players and staff, logos, kits, colours, cups and more tiers of the pyramid. After FM21, I've been constantly working on improving small aspects to refine it around the edges and make it as immersive as possible with every FM edition Some of the teams San Ramirez - The star of Cartagena. A rich, elegant and respected team, but not liked by many. Usulutàn - A very strong rival of San Ramirez and contender for the title, with a great financial backbone. Santa Ana Alzate - A strong title contender that respects its Cartaginian origins, with a family-like core of players. Delgado - The smallest but the richest of the top 4. Its spending powers and big name pull is a constant threat to the top 4. Keep an eye on Estudiantes, a team that fell into the 4th division, but is one of the fiercest in the country. They recently gained funding and they are looking to take their righteous spot in the Liga Royale. [FM24 New] Added a new contender in the 3rd division - Red Bull Marisa - with its own RB branded logo and partnerships with the other teams in the ecosystem. Each team has its own manager, assistant manager, and rest of the staff, all assigned from the real life unemployed list. So you will see some interesting battles between familiar names like Villas-Boas, Rafa Benitez, Joachim Low, Tedesco, and so on. I try to keep the database constantly updated with real life manager moves so nobody gets left out. Players Most of the teams start out as empty so you can get a new squad building experience with every save. There are over 120 custom players added, all with custom faces, most of them regens with a story from my previous saves of FM and some easter eggs here and there. I highly recommend disabling "add players to playable teams" as it will ruin the experience. The leagues Liga Royale - 20 teams Liga Segunda - 18 teams Liga Tercera - 18 teams La Cuarta Division - 20 teams La Quinta Division - 16 teams Each team has its unique story, stadium, kit colours, logos and even staff. It takes a hell lot of time to create team kits/colors so the teams below the 6th division won't have a lot of variation unfortunately. Logos Most of the teams from the 1st to the 3rd division have custom logos, so I highly recommend downloading the graphics pack. Kits I created custom kits for every Liga Royale team, big credits to Kitbasher. Other info I suggest leaving "do not add key staff" unchecked as most L3 and below teams don't have any staff. Download File download: Mediafire Logos, Kits and Player Faces: Mediafire To install: Go to documents -> Sports interactive - > Football Manager 2024 -> editor data and paste the file To add logos/kits/faces: Go to documents -> Sports interactive -> Football Manager 2024 and paste the file from the ZIP. Changelog v1 / Jan 2024 Release Compatible with all FM24 game modes Reworked the league structure so there are more teams in the 2nd and 3rd division Added comptetition logos Added a lot more team logos Reworked the city/region structure of the country - this will lead to better player generation across the country (around the level of Germany over time) v1.1 / Jun 2024 Updated for 24.3 (apologies for the wait) Graphics folder (kits, logos, faces) updated to match with 24.3 Added some more club legends Cartagena.fmf
  19. I'm losing my mind over this. I've replayed two games about 7-8 times each, against Chelsea and Aston Villa. Every time with different tactics, different team selections, different mentalities, different approaches over all. I've won the PL, UCL and cup last year as Brighton and have a world class squad. This tactic and the slightly more defenisve variations got me a quadruple last season. Replayed this Aston Villa game and conceded 3 goals in the first 30 minutes for the third replay in a row. Three goals out of 3 shots in 0.31 xG. And guess what, just as I was writing this post, it happened again - for the fourth time in a row, conceded 3 in the first 30 minutes. EDIT: four goals* in under 30 min. Two out of random free kicks. My world class attackers (attached) shoot every one-on-one and tap-in wide, or in the post. Never seems to happen as bad in home games. Goalkeeper blasts it long when there are no opposition players around my defence with distribute to centre/full backs on. On a winning streak, finished first in the UCL qualifiers, fighting for the title, could win 5-0 in a home game against 2nd place. Morale of most of my squad is deep green (perfect or excellent). Aston Villa has won 2 and lost 3 out of their last 7 games. I'm strongly against FM conspiracy theories, but the games makes it really hard to disregard the allegations that it forces you on a bad form when you're doing too well. Rant over, but I'm curious if anyone else has tested replays and experienced the same
  20. AI Barcelona decided to list Pedri as they 'don't believe he has a future with them'. All while he plays every game possible for the last 4 seasons and is a constant starter for them. Also asking for only 76 mil.
  21. Newgens will no longer generate incorrect faces I'm not sure if this referred to the dirty faces but I reloaded my skin and they haven't changed yet. (good regen alert)
  22. Was it ever explained why they removed the rival nations tab from a nation's profile?
  23. This bug appeared after the last update of FM23 and I raised it then as well. What happens is that the available manager jobs stop showing up on the home widget after a few days. As you can see in the screenshots, there are a lot more jobs available in the job center than the widget shows.
