  1. Coming back to this to say that something worse has happened now - a staff member retired WHILE he was part of my coaching team. At 37 years old! And with huge PA. I signed him up fairly recently, but only a few months after he retired as a player. I'm guessing the game already decided he was going to retire as staff in the summer because of no job and it didn't reset after I signed him. Save game: Leon Galanes - Real Nicosa.fm
  2. "Player wants to consider his options" Realistic feature, until 7 of your key players do it for no reason, with 7-8 positives and no negatives in their happiness tab
  3. Luisao should be a legend for Benfica, or at least an icon
  4. Tiago Mendes' history shows him as a Atletico Madrid coach in 2010-2011. He was a coach for Atletico after he retired, so that would be 2017-2018. Wiki
  5. Can't believe I actually miss the "it's your tactic bro". Back in my day you went back to the drawing board after a bad spell, or take the sack. Now it's always the ME's fault
  6. My fantasy league always loaded for an extra top league (link), even if I don't manage there Some times I also use a Youth Rating Increased database for more fun with regens. World class regens all around. And when all my saves get too boring, I sometimes use an All Free Agents database to spice things up
  7. Just pointing out that this is still happening after the update. So many good staff lost forever.
  8. Managing a smaller team is basically Morale Manager 23. You could have a good squad and great tactics, but it all comes down to morale. Fairly good winning streak, but God help you if you're scheduled to play 2 of the top 5 teams in a row. 2 defeats in a row basically means 5 more afterwards. The morale hit is insane, From all team around 'excellent' to below 'okay' with no regards to whom the opponent was. Was scheduled to play Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico in a row as a lower-midtable team. Season was over before it started.
  9. Since the 23 Winter update, I noticed the Available Jobs panel is not showing all the manager jobs anymore. It's only showing a part of them. If you look in the screenshots, there are way more jobs in the job center than in the panel. This has never been an issue before the update. I am using a custom database but this shouldn't have anything to do with it, as I've been using it before the update as well
  10. 4 major injuries in less than a full season. Small sample size to call it a patch issue, but definitely very unlucky
  11. It's not that the hiring of the staff is too easy, it's that the AI teams are terrible at assembling staff. If you sim in the future, most teams will have like 1 first team coach and will never consider replacing bad coaches with better coaches.
  12. That's insane. My 180 PA regen that started of with first-team stats at 17 years old actually dropped(!) 3 points in crossing over 3 years
  13. Some of the players CA/PA are still questionable, to say the least. English players and other PL players are still overrated as hell compared to other leagues. Just look at Chelsea's squad for example (Fofana, Mount, Havertz). Gavi, Balde and Nico Williams with lower PA than Caicedo, Alfie Devine, Harvey Elliott, Bella-Kotchap. U19 players of 150+ PA: 11 in France, 42 in England.
  14. Only if they didn't already reach their PA. I personally love finding promising staff and raising their attributes so they become good managers in time. National C to National B = 4 months National B to National A = 4 months National A to Continental C = 6 months Continental C to Continental B = 6 months Continental B to Continental A = 12 months Continental A to Continental Pro = 12 months
  15. Press conferences are not bad per-se, they are considered bad because it's incredibly boring to answer a set of questions before and after a match for 38 matches a season. There is no winning formula, it's just how they are. Adding more questions/answer won't solve anything, because you still have to do it over and over. It's just one of those things that is fun to do at first, but you'd rather skip it after you're familiar with it (like cup draws, deadline day, recruitment meetings, staff meetings). Of course some aspects can be improved – why is "Congratulations, [manager]. You have won the Champions League..." the 6th question or why am I being asked about a manager transfer listing a random player after I just won the league. Also, bring back the horizontal questions - why the hell are they in blocks, that's terrible UX. The thing is, the questions and answers could be perfectly crafted, you would still skip press conferences because they're just boring. My only gripe with it is that in order to skip them you have to assign them to the AssMan, which destroys your media handling attribute. I know it doesn't matter that much, but I wish there was a way to disable them alltogether.
  16. I love FM23's player development. 180+ PA wonderkid. I get the personality playing a role (although he's been mentored by model citizens for 3 years), but how do you start for Barcelona every other game and DROP 3 points in a key attribute like crossing?
  17. Once again, the players history becomes a complete mess because of the B team system and a single loan. For some reason they played him in a C and B friendly match and now it looks like this
  18. I don't think it's being talked enough how huge the difference is between home and away matches. When playing a top team in the league, you can constantly win 5-0 6-0 7-0 games at home but struggle to score a single goal away against the exact same team. But the worst example is in the Champion's League, or just between two top teams in general. At this point I really don't care about the away game anymore because 95% of the time my team gets absolutely dominated regardless of the tactics or the opposition. It's just impossible to dominate a game even with a posession/pressing tactic, even when playing teams who do that IRL like Barcelona or Man City, because the home team will get 3x the chances, and they will win the posession game. I've tested this out by replaying the same game over and over on positive, balanced, counter mentalities, with ultra posession based tactics, with different roles, and it just doesn't matter because the home team plays better. Not to mention playing on attacking mentality, you're basically writing your death sentence My first 11 is pretty much world class in every position, with 3 ballon d'Or winners. But they drop a huge stinker in every such game, with easy 6.0 ratings at half time. But the thing is, the same thing happens when I'm playing at home. I will completely dominate other top teams, and I mean constant 5-0 to 7-0 scores in the second leg. And the true value of the team shows in that game, so at that point it's just a matter of who dominates more in their home game
  19. Every year there's a few people complaining about too many injures blaming it on SI. I think it's perfectly fine, maybe your tactics/intensity/rotation/staff/training is at play, or sometimes you're just unlucky. I peronsally experienced a very normal amount of injuries in 20+ seasons this year
  20. B Teams, at their current state, are a complete utter mess. To the point where it almost makes me not want to manage in Spain, Portugal or Germany anymore. Managing reserves teams is infinitely better. Why can't you see attribute development for B team players? It really feels like players stop developing as much the moment they move from U19s to the B team. Why doesn't the game include B team players when you compare players for a position? You only see your first team players and the U19s Staff is almost impossible to sign for the B team Can't assign B team coaches on badge courses even though you can take control of it in the staff responsabilities Can't see loaned out player's attribute improvements Players who debut for the first team don't count as debuts if they played for the B team before, Player history becomes a complete mess once they start playing for the B team. You get a mix of both in their history and it looks like **** You don't have B team coaches support your first team coaches like you do in countries with normal reserve teams. This leads to a slight disadvantage for B team countries in training performance
