  1. Updated to work with 23.5 v1.4 / September 2023 Updated to work with 23.5 Further nerfed the income of some Cartagena top teams for better long term balancing Nerfed some of the top players in Cartagena following testing and feedback. Added a few more players and player faces. You will need to re-download the graphics folder for the faces.
  2. In the transfer history tab, we have an option to filter player transfers, free players, released players (Retired goes there) and staff. But there is no way to see the staff that retired. There is no way to keep track of staff members unless you shortlist and constantly follow your Inbox - Social Feed. Often I see a club hiring an Assistant Manager that gets me thinking "wait, but wasn't Messi the assistant manager at Udinese?". So I would like a feature where there is an extra type of transfer in the history tab. Currently we have [Date] / [Person] / [Club] / [Job] [Date] / [Person] / Unattached / [Job] And we should also have [Date] / [Person] / Retired / [Job]
  3. I always prioritise buying players with fancy names/nationalities. I have a huge bias for Spanish regens vs let's say French or English.
  4. Do you have an example of a real life player with 160+ CA but terrible stat distribution? Edit: And that is not even the point of this whole conversation. It really doesn't matter if a 130 CA player has a better distribution than a 160 CA player, the point is that if both of them, alongside 20 of their peers, have a PA of 190 and none of them ever reach close to it, it's a big issue with attribute progression, training, and general youth development. And this hasn't been an issue in previous FMs, hence why so many complaints about it.
  5. But the CA literally is a way of measurement of how good a player is. High CA = high attributes and higher PA means potential for even better attributes. Why are you spreading misinformation? A top player literally has high CA. Look at all of the top squads at the start of the game, all world class players have high CA's regardless of it being a hidden stat. A top youngster like Pedri has a 150CA and a 190PA, that means they are really good and they will become even better. It's the most basic mechanic of FM. Show me a single world class player that has low CA at the start of the game. If a player performs well in real life, in the next FM they will have higher attributes and with that, higher CA. You don't have a 120CA in two UCL finalists squads. The fact that low CA players can perform better than a world class player is a completely different matter. It's a hidden feature but the players have a thing called attributes, which are directly tied to CURRENT ABILITY, a mechanic that the game does tell you about, alongisde their POTENTIAL ABILITY. If I have a great youngster in a Man City squad, with only a star of CA (realtive to squad) and 5 full stars of PA (also relative to a world class squad), you don't need the editor or be a genius to realsie that they have a lot of potential to grow. It's obviously true that not all players should reach their potential. But the issue that people are calling out is that there are way too many players that don't do it. If the game starts with a generation of, let's arbitrarily say, 70 world class players, I would expect that there should constantly be 70 world class players in the game in the future, including regens and excluding players who never made it. Not the game producing 70 world class potential players, with only 40 making it and 30 getting stuck in low CAs. As I mentioned before, you will never see a Pedri, Gavi, Bellingham levels of CA regen at 18, or as someone else mentioned, a Messi/Mbappe level regen without the human manager involvement. If the game didn't mean for players to reach the same CA levels as real life players, then they should remove the feature alltogether. But it doesn't mean that since PA exists, and you veiling it under "it's a feature not a bug " is disrespectful to the people who are giving feedback on the game, and have been experimenting and testing out this issue with clear data to show it.
  6. But that is the wrong way to look at things. If a 160CA regen has terrible attribute distribution so that a 130CA regen can be a better player, that means the game has an issue with distributing stats. And we are not looking at how good a player is here, we are looking at their CA and PA, aka them reaching their potential. It doesn't matter if a 140 CA player is pretty good, if they have a 180 PA that means that they can be way better and the game blocks them from doing so. What's the point in having high PAs if the players never reach it? A few years in the future you'll have fewer world class stars. With current FM, you'll never have Gavis, Pedris or Bellinghams There's been constant complains about this on the forum, with experiments and examples. In my current save, I have 44 players(!!) of 170+ PA that are already 20 and not past 130 CA. Here is another example
  7. Way worse than older versions. There's been posts of people complaining. Here's an example of my experience I don't think I ever saw Endrick past 145CA in my 6 long term saves
  8. Another victim of FM23's youth development nerf. 196 PA player stuck on the same 130-ish CA since 18 years old. Terrible AI youth development, the terrible B system and the nerf on attribute development.
  9. I wonder if FM24 will bring any flavour to the Saudi league. Benzema just signed, Ronaldo is playing there, Busquets and Messi are possibly going there. Unique mechanics of mega-contracts from your chairman? Or just huge wage budgets?
  10. I'd be very curious how the AI handles squads for clubs that rely heavily on their youth academies, and how they look in 15 years and 30 years time compared to today, in terms of average age and current ability. Clubs like Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, RB Leipzig/RB Salzburg, Barcelona, Benfica. It really seems like the AI can't handle clubs producing, playing and keeping their own youth prospects for most of their careers. In my latest save, RB Salzburg was full of 30+ years old signed on a free. Barcelona has almost no Spanish players, about 2 from their own academy, and have sold players like Gavi and Pedri. Athletic Bilbao is hardcoded to use their own players but the average current ability is nowhere near the level at the start of the game. I would love to run the experiment but I'm on a trip for a few weeks, will try to do it once i'm back
  11. Is there any way of setting my custom team and player's IDs to some other numbers rather than the ones auto-generated by the game? I'm asking because I always have to manually re-edit all my config files for logos, kits and faces every time a new update comes out or a new FM edition comes out. If someone knows a better way, please let me know
  12. Here's a thought on FM Should Directors of Football have more importance in FM? They are increasingly essential for clubs going well. Most clubs operate with one nowadays, and bigger clubs poach good DoFs. Currently in FM, there would be absolutely no difference if you'd remove all DoFs. The game also generates DoFs with amazing stats at the start of the game, so that means that real-life DoFs will never move clubs, only retire. And once they do, clubs will just sign a free-agent staff regen instead of looking for a real replacement. But even so, they do almost nothing in FM. I think they should play a bigger role in next editions, similar to real life - Hear about it in the media, especially with big transfers - Get credit for good recruitment/success of smaller clubs - Get blamed and/or fired for bad spells of bigger clubs
  13. I think Newgan is pretty much a requirement nowadays for immersion. This, or disabling regen faces. Makes the regens look like real players
  14. Well the press assumes the manager actually watches the match, you know?
  15. I recently switched to this and it's doing wonders, works great in away games and against top opponents. But not a lot of big scores.
  16. Ansu Fati got a heavy -12 CA in the last update
  17. I just signed Messi and still only got an A- so who knows anymore
  18. A little introduction In a fantasy world, Carthage rises to conquer Gibraltar and colonize the empty Saharas. Today, its people find entertainment in football. Its rich cities have given birth to hundreds of football teams, but only 20 can play in the Liga Royale, with the others having to rise through the ranks of the 5 leagues to get a spot. The Champions League, Europa League and Conference League welcome these new challengers that will have to get out of coefficient hell. A little project backstory I started this project in FM13 as a very small personal job. I then moved everything over to FM16 and started adding more leagues. In FM19 and then later on FM21, I worked hard to expand this project and create unique teams, stadiums, players and staff, logos, kits, colours, cups and more tiers of the pyramid. In FM21 this gained some traction so I spent the post-launch weeks of FM23 to perfect this project and have more people enjoy it. The teams: San Ramirez - The star of Cartagena. A rich, elegant and respected team, but not liked by many. Usulutàn - A very strong rival of San Ramirez and contender for the title, with a great financial backbone. Santa Ana Alzate - A strong title contender that respects its Cartaginian origins; Delgado Sariñana - The smallest but the richest of the top 4. Its spending powers and big name pull is a constant threat to the top 4. Keep an eye on Estudiantes, a team that fell into the 5th league, but is one of the fiercest in the country. They recently gained funding and they are looking to take their righteous spot in the Liga Royale. Each team has its own manager, assistant manager, and rest of the staff, all assigned from the unemployed list. So you will see some interesting battles between familiar names like Villas-Boas, Rafa Benitez, Joachim Low, Tedesco, and so on. Players: Most of the teams are almost empty of players to allow a fun first time experience of building out your team. There are about 100 custom players added, most of them regens with a story from my past saves of FM and some easter eggs here and there. I highly recommend disabling "add players to playable teams" as it will ruin the experience. The leagues: Liga Royale - 20 teams Liga Segunda - 16 teams Liga Tercera - 16 teams La Cuarta Division - 24 teams La Quinta Division - 14 teams Each team has its unique story, stadium, kit colours and even staff. It takes a hell lot of time to create team kits/colors so the teams below these leagues won't have much variation unfortunately Logos: Most of the teams from the 1st to the 3rd division have custom logos, so I highly recommend downloading the logos as well. Kits: I created custom kits for every Liga Royale team, big credits to Kitbasher. Others: I suggest leaving "do not add key staff" unchecked as most L3 and below teams don't have any staff. Download: File download: Mediafire Logos, Kits and Player Faces(new): Mediafire Alternative links: FMSCOUT To install: Go to documents -> Sports interactive - > Football Manager 2023 -> editor data and paste the file To add logos/kits/faces: Go to documents -> Sports interactive -> Football Manager 2023 and paste the file from the ZIP. 19. I don't know if it's just me, but in FM23 young players just don't develop. Every time my youngsters increase in some attributes, they drop back a month later. It's so incredibly frustrating, never happened in other FMs but this one makes me hate playing it. In every save, in every season, I get a couple of 160+ PA youngsters that I play CONSTANTLY. Like I had 4-5 regens at Barcelona that got play time ahead of first team players, plus world class coaching, plus state of the art facilities. And 3 seasons in, I check their attributes progress [Development->Progress->attribute change since all time] and every single one of them has dropped attributes in technicals, with the only increases being in mentals and physicals. Checked their PA using the editor, all 175 to 195. Same issue a save later, where I'm playing a smaller team with great facilities, a policy of develping youngsters and a great academy. I get a golden generation, and I sign some very, very promising young players. Start them right away, great personalities, great coaches, constant minutes, yet every time i get some green arrows, they drop back down weeks later so 0 progress is made. For every 1 player that actually gets better, 5 others don't. This applies for AI clubs as well. Check youth intakes for top clubs, and see world class potentials coming through. Check them 3 years later, almost no improvement whatsover to their attributes. So no wonder clubs and national teams have old and age-ing squads, when the young players are crap. The ones that play are much worse than the older players, so there is no point in selecting them. I attached some examples of player development, and all of them are 170 PA minimum. You might say there are some players developing well, but consider that most of these are all already past 21 years old, and have only hit 120-135 CA
  20. Another occurence of this issue, but this time I got 3 staff members that say on their profile that they are retiring on the date 5/12/2026, which is today in the save file. Might be more helpful to investigae since it's right before they retire. All 3 guys are 150+ PA and can be found in my staff shortlist: Mohamed Diame, Jerome Hinck (low CA so understandable), Stephane Tritz. Reuploaded at time of comment: Leon Galanes - Real Nicosa.fm
  21. 5 stars busy coaches >>> 3 stars non-busy coaches I'd say as a pro tip, get a lot of reserve coaches as they help with workload. Never split a 5 star coach's tasks, have a lower tier coach support them instead
  22. I agree lol, been playing since FM11 and could always win the UCL few years in with any team you gave me. I find FM23 a lot harder with smaller teams. Youngsters most of the time just don't develop regardless of PA so it's impossible to build a wonderkid squad
  23. Sorry I don't mean homegrown, I mean if he's considered of that nation in stats. So if my team in Spain has only 5 Spanish players, it would be considered "foreign-heavy" and my domestic player bias very low. But if let's say, 10 of my other players get Spanish nationality, would the game register 15 Spanish players and a high domestic player bias
  24. I've always wondered, when a player gains citizenship in the nation you're playing in, does it count towards the domestic player numbers?
