  1. If you play a 4-2-3-1 with DM’s and one of them (LCDM) is a Segundo Volante for example, when he rotates up to the AMCL area your AMC will rotate horizontally to the AMCR area.
  2. It's not a missed opportunity. We only had so much time to get these rotations in & this feature complete. We ideally would like to have gone even further with this feature and put even more rotations in, but we're pretty proud of what we've achieved as a team and I don't see this as a missed opportunity as a fan of the game or as an employee. We feel we've given people far more tools then ever before and I think anyone that loves tactics will appreciate this feature and as previously stated we would love to have added more in an ideal scenario but there wasn't another scenario or an option other then what we've put out as a team. Hopefully people are enjoying the rotations we were able to put into the game this year.
  3. Yes it's all of the roles not listed above. The roles listed above are the only roles that trigger rotations.
  4. I’m honestly not sure if I should be proud of you for this or not.
  5. Can we please keep the comments to feedback on FM24 early access. I would respectfully say before jumping to conclusions that people actually play the games for themselves and use their own eyes to determine if they think there are issues. If you find any please report them in our bug tracker and we in the Match team will take a look at it, but basing thoughts and comments on one person's holidaying of matches in 1 save file doesn't help anyone and it also clogs up this thread from useful feedback. Thanks
  6. Wide Centre-back isn't available in a back 4 you will need 3CB's for this role to be selected on the tactics screen. Just an additional note that further information on the positional play rotations will be available here on the forums when the Beta is out.
  7. There would be 2 CB’s left after the rotation. The CB & the IFB and they would form a 2 CB pairing after the rotation.
  8. Hi @S2G Feel free to send me a PM with some details and I'm happy to pass this onto the relevant team for you. Thanks Jack
  9. I would also ask in what way do you want to dominate possession? If it's the raw possession stat, this is calculated by passes completed. Ball share is how much time you spend on the ball versus the opposition, and then pitch/field tilt is another metric that can be used to analyse how domiant you are being in matches.
  10. Fantastic effort You've also done something I started looking at too which is to add the potential divisions into your search filters. Although it might take a while to think of them all ( the relative leagues for your division ) and add them, It's probably worth taking the time to do it so the search list throws up relative results. Hope this goes well for you and I look forward to seeing the results!
  11. Hi @Weston What happens if you click position icon next to the player where the green is selected? You are currently displaying player opposition instructions and if you click the button next to it, that should display the opposition instructions set to the position? I believe then you will see what you are requesting Thanks jack
  12. Ahh the memories. Thanks for bumping this How has everyone found their Pep recreations this year in FM23? I should probably do something similar to this thread but with a much updated version as this was mainly based on City 17/18
  13. Great read and great stuff! @phnompenhandy Love to see the depth you're going into and I'll be following along for the rest of the series!
  14. Hi @bitzu_rock Can you post a image of your routine and the players both taking the corner, & receiving the pass from the short corner? Sometimes as others have mentioned if the short player is marked the corner taker does make the decision to cross into the box instead Thanks Jack
  15. @zeus77 If you would like people to try your tactic please make your own thread. This thread is made by another user for their tactics or tactics they allow to be posted only. Thank you!
  16. This is a great point that I think often gets missed and people start to argue over recreations. You can definitely achieve the same thing in different ways. There's no right/wrong answer, if you're happy with what you're seeing in the match engine then that's all anyone can ask for!
  17. Hi @DhcSylar This specific topic was discussed recently on a podcast actually that involved myself. Some stats are defined differently between stats companies themselves and some are different too within FM The podcast is here for anyone wanting to know more information on this or other stats within Football Manager 2023.
  18. Not how they react to long balls but a situation like I explained. The opposition team has maintained a couple of passes and now they have a player on the ball with time and no immediate pressure. How do you want your defensive line to react? Hold their line? Step up to compact the space leaving space in behind? Drop to prevent a ball from getting in behind but leaving space in front ?
  19. Hi @desmond91Hopefully this helps! The best way to think of the two options is like this. Defensive line in defensive shape = How high you want your defensive line to be when out of possession? Defensive line as an team instruction Drop off more / Step up more = How do you want your defensive line to behave? For example if you want to engage high & press high but you have a slower back 4, you may want them to position higher to stay close to the rest of the team and stay compact. But also because they aren't the fastest, the moment the press is beaten or an opposing player has time on the ball with no pressure on it you may want them to start to drop to prevent being beaten in behind. Now in FM23 you can create this by selecting your defensive line to be higher in the team defensive shape to help stay compact and support the high press your team is employing, but now as a behavior in the defensive line team instruction you can select them to " drop off more" to prevent the obvious issue of a long pass in behind, To be clear It's not an additional instruction to make the defensive line to just go higher or lower then the initial selection in team shape. Hopefully this helps everyone!
  20. hi @diLLa88 There's rarely ever a one size fits/solves approach but hopefully some of this information will help. In FM23 the 2 CM's when selected with a CDM behind them, will now position themselves much higher then previously in FM with advanced roles ( Think Bernardo Silva & Kevin De Bruyne ). On your left wide you have a WB-D, along with then 2 roles that are going to end up in almost the same space in possession. I would wager in your attacks when you're building up possession you have no width on the left at the moment which forces your team to play down the right or direct in behind. The IW will position themselves narrower and earlier then a IF or W and look to occupy something closer to a half space which is also where your Mezzala is roughly going to be. Often they are probably blocked by the same screening opposing midfield players. However if you do get the ball to them, you probably are getting the odd overload where the RB has 2 people to deal with in the same space which is up to you if this is what you're looking to achieve from a tactical perspective! You could look to change the LB role to something more adventurous ( WB-S or WB-A ) as a start point if you're happy with the rest of the tactic and see how differently your chances are created from there. But I would play some matches with comprehensive highlights and see what kind of chances you are creating on the left side to start with and tweak from there. Hope it goes well for you in your tactical tweaks! Jack
  21. @WyerPlease make your own thread if you want to discuss other tactics. This is a thread by Knap for his own tactics. Thank you and I hope you enjoy FM23!
