Said from the beginning, TAA should be playing over Walker. Walker only picked for speed, but when defending deep as a conscious set up, it’s pointless. You don’t want Walker with loads of the ball. Still maintain too, TAA is no worse defensively. Just Walker recovery pace is all people remember. Not playing your best RB on the ball, and no left winger, contributed to some **** football and lack of meaningful control.

It’s mad isn’t it how Southgate has played all tournament with literally no left winger. Was that the reason to why he called up Gordon? Easier to give him 0 minutes, whereas Grealish or Rashford will be more controversial as it would get more attention.

Another thing that I’m annoyed with by sitting off for like 80 of the 90, we’ve seen Simon kick so badly all tournament, but by sitting off, it meant we didn’t see it. When we had that spell of needing to press and push up, they were turning it over to us a bit. Should’ve been that from the beginning, then bring on Watkins / Gordon / Bowen / Palmer / Gallagher to keep the legs going. Think Gareth has truly used like 15 of the squad this tournament, and 2 of them because of the CM trial. Everyone else, not really trusted unless last chance saloon.

And all the players were screaming at Pickford not to go long, stones showing, Bellingham and Foden shouting to play short, goes long. Ball lost. Comes from manager that approach.

Watkins pressing on his own with no-one near him because Saka / Foden / Bellingham were ****ed. Then Pickford going long to him and losing it. Just painfully bad when Spain were on ropes.

Going out to Slovakia or Switzerland is what we’ve played at. Getting to final for the hope of winning, just masks everything that was wrong from early on. Kane injured all tournament. Bellingham playing LW and not using an actual LW all tournament. Going long as a tactic. Just a lot of things were off from early on.

One thing that’s different between sides, the player movement. Moving to opposite wings, Rodri coming really wide so it pulls out Foden and allows CBs to come out in the middle. Bellingham LW really isn’t ideal, but as a moment player I guess needs must.

Should be a reality check in changing room and realise we can attack more here. This is can be a one goal game, let’s get it ourselves by being brave.

Not created anything clear (thanks to Morata terrible pass) but it’s not sustainable conceding this possession and needing to travel 70 yards for an attack. Loads of crosses by Spain which have been bad. We’ve had like one cross.

Christ, that throw sums up the half. No-one showing for the ball, lose it instantly. Good job it’s 0-0 at HR so we can reset as this isn’t good.

Shaw having Yamals number so far is helping us stay level as it’s one outlet that’s not there.
