I would like to hear the conversation for that pen. Because if referee has said there’s contact but it’s not a pen, there’s no way VAR should be intervening. If referee has said there’s been no contact, then it’s fair to be reviewed.

Takes too long on the ball compared to the other three. When he moves it quick, it’s great, when he’s holding onto it for too long, less so.

Do feel, despite Kane goal output, we’d actually be a better and more threaten side in these type of games if we had like another attacking mid instead of him, because the movement is there for everyone expect him. And when he does move and get on it, it’s slow.

Good half. Right side of Mainoo / Foden / Saka on it. Left side and Kane less so, which is hampering things. Just need one of Trips / Bellingham / Kane to turn up more there and we can blow this Dutch side away.

Well, it’s offside. Quite simple. xg should be used to help provide context to a game though, not used as a standalone measurement, because a team can rack up xg in final 5 mins when chasing for a goal. Like against Slovakia, the glaring chance from 50 yards is hardly a footnote on the xg, but in the context of what that chance was, it was probably best one outside of the actual goal.

Even if the ability of the sides are arguable, they’ve beaten the holders, the host nation and perceived ‘best’ nation, and probably only Germany the game that was most on edge, which you can say is fair since it’s the host nation trying everything to win. They’ve been in control for most games, creating chances, and having a say on where the ball is played. Just multiple levels above other sides.
