As an aside I'd suggest addressing this issue if you're selling databases on Patreon, lots of guides on here

They can register any EU player (and any Sammarinese player). My understanding from research this year is they may only have 2 non-EU players registered in the squad

Correct. I will fix that so it's more clear. (edit: the main download is the only one available now, and has the non-EU rules). Is there no window in January? Let me take a look, I had summer and winter working when I was testing it EDIT: ugh, had a 2021 where a 2001 should go, thank you! Fixing it now, winter window should appear fine every year now

Is there one showing up? I didn't enable it, people have been asking for it though. I'll likely make a fantasy version with U19/U21s at some point but as an optional choice

Since about 2017, it's been clear that joint bids are the future for hosting the World Cup. Since SI coded the triple hosts for 2026, why not make double and triple hosts the norm? Clearly the coding is there. Meanwhile we persist with a semi-random collection of single hosts that seem to have been set a decade+ ago. I know international management isn't the priority, but it's hard to see this as anything other than one of the more egregious oversights in this respect

under league settings/qualification rules I assume you have the 1st place teams advancing? Then under "group settings" (for the whole stage, not an individual group), at the bottom there's "extra fate places." Add the number you want (3), original league place "other", new league place "promoted" (doesn't make sense but it works). "Max teams in group to check" should be set at 1, otherwise it will also check to see if a 3rd place team has enough points to advance over other group runner-ups (rare, but it happens if you have at least 2 best runners up and forgot to set this to 1).

Does testing throw up any other errors? Hard to say what's going wrong without a full picture of the setup/issues

In the stage itself have you set "seeded group draw" or anything? I wonder if having that on or off can throw off the valid cup draw rules used elsewhere

That's odd, makes me wonder if qualifying isn't finishing in time or sending too many qualifiers somehow (like your Europe screenshot saying the top 5 teams from each group all qualified). Then the tournament is effectively delayed so long that when it finally tries to play it's well outside the "months" or "dates" of the competition

Has anyone figured out how to do triple hosts like WC2026? Is that hardcoded? Gotta love how FIFA have been clear for a while now that single hosts are pretty much off the table but SI's just like "nah too much work." Might have to go in feature requests

What other errors is testing throwing up? I know you said those were the result of merges but they look like more of a result of issues needing a fix

Can also use "cup tie mappings from previous stage" or whatever it's called, along with "cup tie mappings" in the round itself. Then instead of "seeded draw" it's just "fixed draw". Fixed draw allows you to set home teams, a fixed bracket for the whole tournament etc (can see the potential matchups all the way to the final like "team A or team B or team or team D" vs "team E or team F or team G or team H")

I had it pointed out that FIFA have in fact confirmed the Arab Cup wasn't a one-off and will continue in 2025, so I'll likely build that as well at some point. There are other Arab Cup files and they probably work fine for now, but with mine I'll accommodate the fixtures in my league files too. Right but will AI still use the overagers? I figured it was something hard-coded in the Olympics? Like a "U23 team" will only allow U23 players and you'd have to make it a senior age tournament with an age limit for all but 3 players instead? Haven't tested it mind you

If it's still throwing up those errors on testing that's probably it, for example that error you posted is telling you Europe WCQ hasn't finished in time (so it doesn't have the required 32 teams and doesn't schedule). Ignoring those or finding workarounds will just cause more problems in other areas. That date issue could be from a mistyped offset year somewhere in "requirements" or dates (such as a 0 where a -1 should be or something like that) edit: what are you trying to do with that "bottom position"? Isn't that telling the game that positions 1 through 6 from the same group all qualify? The "league fate" and qualification type might be redundant if everything else is set properly (not sure on that)

Fixed a glitch with the Coppa Titano final where it was being played over 2 legs. Also corrected some scheduling and substitution rules for the quarterfinals onward, based on how it's transpired IRL over the past few weeks. This means we've almost certainly got the most realistic and detailed Sammarinese file available for FM23 here.

When you duplicate an award, you need to change the "short" name along with the "long" name. These look like default awards, but I wonder if the same step would fix it. Often that step is skipped, because you're just duplicating another competition's "Player of the Year", for example, and just changing the long name but leaving that short name. A duplicated award with an unchanged short name will often show up blank in areas that use the "short name" like that. You can literally just change it one letter, click/tab away, then go back in to "short name" and change it back. As long as it registers a change (you can see an award's "changes" at the bottom of its editor entry under history).

Download link updated, added some updated roster rules and tweaked the Super Cup/King Cup formats as more information comes out. I've got Ronaldo joining Jan. 1 but I expect SI's winter transfer update will put him there from game start, which will just negate the future transfer (so no need to change anything)

In general you shouldn't need to tell the game who to assign history to with those stage finished actions/add history type things, that usually means there's something missing in rankings or even something like a missed bye or qualifier that you might be missing on testing. But we'd have to take a look at the file to say for sure

I chatted with them on there, I think both are good long-term DBs. You can download both and compare those details side by side

The 2 non-EU player rule is non-replicable except for a weird workaround, in my file here and also posted at Fusion. Their official one appears to be more of a port from last season anyway, mine seems to be more accurate for scheduling and other quirks like the new sub rules
