Hasnt been that good. Has been some good defending in this game though. Hummels and Boateng have played really well.

Higuain's miss in the first half was really bad, both teams bottling it in front of goal.

BBC keep talking like Messi has been great but he has been poor to anonymous.

He's pretty much done what he has done before in the WC. Some good runs and dribbles, which has sometimes meant a goal, and otherwise he's just walking around looking uninterested. He is dangerous when he gets going though, and is probably the most rested player out there :D

Gah can't they just keep playing until someone scores? Really don't want to see penalties.

They should replay the final a few days later (say Wednesday).

This would be a better solution, although I guess it would take some of the buzz out of the game, and it'll mess up people who have tickets/plane tickets booked. But really, deciding a World Champion based on penalties really is a shame.

Would be a good time for The Netherlands to cash in the money in the bank briefcase

:applause:

"BAH GAWD, ARE THEY DOING THIS? GERMANY JUST WON THE DAMN CUP!" - "That's the whole point, they can cash in any time, any place!"

Love that Messi scored all of his goals in the group stages against three easy teams and he's still being talked about as if he's the man to win it all for Argentina :D Argentina are going to need penalties, because they will not score in normal time - simply not good enough. Would be a bit of an injustice if Argentina won the cup tonight tbh...

People keep peddling this "Argentina haven't been behind once this tournament!" line... what does that matter ffs? All of their games have had 1 goal or less bar two of them ffs :D

of course it matters! it's a pretty catchy stat so i guess people like to repeat it

Isn't that the point? The games haven't had many goals in, thus they haven't been behind.

Their games could have had 6 goals each and they might not have been behind still.

The impression I was getting was that they're so good they've not fallen behind once. When the reality is, they play a nasty little defensive game and play to scrape victories. They're good at accomplishing that style but it doesn't mean anything, other than they're good defensively (which everybody and his dog knows).
