darren1983
Season 2035/36 Review Championship League | FA Cup | League Cup | Transfers | Squad | Finances After losing in the playoffs for the past 3 season's I really thought this year could be the one to push the top sides. Sadly it didn't start well.Only 2 wins (and 9 goals) from out opening 9 games and it looked tough. We did win 3 of our next 7 but only scored 7 goals in that time. It needed a tinker with the tactics and it worked, only 3 defeats for the rest of the season but we were still drawing a lot of games, we struggled to break down sides near the bottom how defended well, in the end though we did push towards the top and even hit top spot with about 10 games to go, we then lost at home to mid table Shrewsbury and it looked like playoffs again for us, but then we clicked into another gear winning 9 of our final 10 games (drawing the other) to actually win the league! As you can see from the graph we timed our run well! In the cups our poor started + a rotated side meant that we were knocked out in the first round of the league cup. We had a nice little run in the FA Cup but Premier League Leeds beat us 1-0 with a late goal despite them being down to 10 men for most of the 2nd half (which is a bit of a worry as they were relegated from the Prem this season so not sure what that says about our chances next year) In terms of transfers we loaned a lot out and didn't lose anyone we wanted to keep. Youth Intake - had to change HOYD this summer as our old one retired, new fella did OK I think. Richard McKenna 36A - a solid looking CB, can never have too many of these, could also do a decent job at CBMichael Ojo 36B - a decent looking keeper, needs some work but the basics are thereNigel McDaid 36C - a CM, with his work rate and team work think he could be a decent option as a box to box midfielder Lawrence Prince 36D - can play either side which is ideal for our wide rolesGraeme McLaughlin 36E - not the best forward we've had but some OK looking attributes to mould someone with, needs work on his personality too though. Mikus
Rijnsburgse Boys 2021/22 So reading all these updates made me want to try this myself. I've gone for Holland as I know I'm going to struggle so hopefully only having two leagues to get through should make the challenge easier! I've created a Dutch alter ego Jesse de Graaf who will hopefully lead us to glory. I discovered after holidaying for a season that there's no promotion/relegation until the second season, so we had another year chilling before getting stuck in. League - After we lost the first four games, I thought we were going to really struggle to survive. 14 points from the next 6 eased those fears and we were never in danger of relegation, although some poor consistency meant we never pulled clear of the battle at the bottom, eventually surviving by 4 points. Fixtures 1 Fixtures 2 Cup - One game and out against a team from the division above. Youth Intake - A couple of decent prospects, although as our best three players are strikers already, I'm not sure when some of them will get regular game time. Transfers Board only want me to battle against relegation again next year so looking to improve on this season's performance.

Alsolate
First of all, congratulations to the two who have completed the challenge since I was last on here!! Both with teams geographically near to me no less. Seriously, well done for climbing all those English leagues. Season 4 2023-24 Transfers Finances Youth Intake Another steady season in 2. Liga. Due to the ridiculous prize money, all facilities have been improved again. We achieved our best finish with me in charge. And what better way to celebrate than be getting parent club from the Bundesliga, Hertha Berlin. Obviously I will reject any players they send, or just dump them in the BFC Dynamo II team. Alsolate
Season 5 2024-25 Transfers Finances Youth Intake p1 p2 A strong finish. We have 4 regular starters now from youth newgens. Bjorn Bremer 22A Timmy Grossert 20A Dominik Zimmer 22B Francois Owona 23B They are all first choices in their positions. Others are starting to come through as well, with a lb to start playing the next season. Our parent club were relegated to our division before I had chance to cancel the link. They never sent any players out to us either. There are some top prospects in this year's intake. My main concern is a lack of youth goalkeepers. This year was the second one I believe, and again underwhelming. I have 2 senior keepers and the first choice is one of my best players. He refuses to sign a new deal without a £250,000 minimum release clause to Bundesliga clubs. There's 2 years left so unless he changes his mind I will let his contract run down and try to give in to his demands near the expiry time. Keeping the youth players has been straightforward due to playing in a major league and being on strong financial footing since collecting 2. Liga prize money every year. We still can't beat average Bundesliga teams in the cup so I don't want us to go up in case we get relegated and I get sacked. I'd like to be promoted by 2029-30 as facilities are getting expensive to improve further. Average attendance leapt by over 50%, no idea why the huge jump. I'm really happy with how some of these youth players are developing.

dkouv
@Brentmeister @XaW @collindinho @darren1983 @thomas_e Thanks! I've never tried this in England myself before, it did feel like a bit of a slog towards the end. But also it's funny how once you get to the EPL you really don't need to worry about finances or selling players, just waiting for that bit of luck with the intake or the CL draw. Think I'll give this challenge a break for a while, basking in glory and all that. @thomas_e - I admire your perseverance! Looks like you started well in Argentina though. For now I'm just doing what I've been itching to do for the last 10 or so seasons of the save: But funnily enough, this made the team less gelled so our performances aren't noticeably different, and the game is getting rather slow in 2045. So maybe I'll be back on here sooner than I expected @darren1983 that is a rough turnaround :z No shame against Man Utd away, but still... Approaching laptop out of the window territory for sure. XaW
XaW - Miðvágs Bóltfelag - 2032 League Table | Squad | Transfers | Finances We retained the title for the 6th time, and we almost went perfect, if not for a draw away to 07 Vestur in the final match of the season. We have become completely dominant domestically now, so most depends on how well we can do in Europe. The best players this season have been Petur Hansen 30i, Brian Petersen 28h and Bergur Joensen 27a. Rinaldo 31b has had a great development this season and became a first team member about half way into the season. The youth intake this season was good, but one player really stood out. Svein Rasmussen 32a looks like an excellent prospect in defence. In the Løgmanssteypið we beat Víkingur Gøta, NSÍ Runavík and B36 to reach the final. Here we beat ÍF Fuglafjørður to retain the title. In the Champions League we started in the 1st qualifying round where we beat Gandzasar of Armenia without issue. In the 2nd qualifying round we knocked out Partizan of Serbia before beating Young Boys of Switzerland in the 3rd qualifying round. In the playoff we faced Norwegians Rosenborg. We drew 1-1 away and 2-2 at home and got knocked out on away goals in the playoff. So we went into the group stage of the Europa League. The other teams in our group were Villarreal of Spain, Arsenal Tula of Russia and KAA Gent of Belgium. We beat Villarreal at home, and drew both matches with Arsenal Tula, and the away leg at Gent, while we lost the remaining two games. Still, that was not enough to keep us out of the bottom spot in the group to knock us out. This season we have added Armenia, Serbia, Russia and Belgium to our visited countries. Winski
Milano City I'm back at this challenge for the last time with FM20. After my last serious attempt with East Kilbride I started a lot of saves. Some of them were youth only, some of them not. But I couldn't get into most of the saves. So after a very long thought I decided to come back to this topic and try my luck in Italy. The team I had in mind was Milano City Busto Garolfo F.C., or better known as Milano City. According to their own website, this is their vision: Quote the new club begins its adventure in the serie d championship. the ambitious project envisages the growth of the corporate structure in parallel with the achievement of sporting objectives. Milan city has as primary objective to land in professional football to become, after more than half a century, the third team in Milan after Milan and Inter Milan. I translated it from Italian to English, but they want to become the third team in Milan. And that's the reason why I wanted to play with this club: I really like to play with a minor club from a big city, even when Milano City isn't even from Milan but from Busto Garolfo, located about 25 km northwest of Milan. I love their badge and the colour of their kits. I had to reload about 20 times, but finally they were promoted to the Serie C/A. Hopefully we can be the best team from Milan in the years to come! Forza Milano City !!

Just need that good start to have a real good go at top 4. Marcelo has just broken the club record for number of goals in a season (47) which stood for 40 years (2136) Funny that Marcelo started as Brazilian, got capped by England U19s and U21s but never made it into the full international squad, at the age of 29 he has just won his first cap for Brazil
darren1983
Season 2036/37 Review - Premier League League | FA Cup | League Cup | Transfers | Squad | Finances Well first season after any promotion is always about staying up. That was the target and we did it well. A 10th place finish was more than I could have hoped for, we never really went close to the relegation battle despite having 2 separate months (October and December) where we lost every game and only scored 1 goal. We were officially safe with 7 games to go so in those last 7 I played 5 or 6 players that were on the fringe of the first team but all have potential to be players at this level. We did well with 3 wins, 3 draws and the one loss. An issue this year was our discipline - 122 yellow cards and 5 reds (3 of which came in the final 4 games) our high pressing game works but against the better sides they're bit too quick for us so we just end up kicking them it seems. Another issue is the make up of our squad, we have 3 or 4 players comfortably good enough to play at this level with a few more with the potential but currently playing at league one or two level. Lots of our team is made of players that are OK championship players at best. To show what we're up against Chelsea have won the past 7 titles (and 8 of the last 9) while Man City have won 3 straight champions leagues. I know it's far too soon to compare but it's gonna be a while before we can compete at that level. Right now though we're good enough to beat the bad sides and that's our aim for now. Transfers we didn't lose anyone we wanted to keep, loaned a few out as usual. The League cup saw Leciester beat us in our first round and the FA Cup saw us get to our now usual 5th round before Wolves beat us. I must say I love the money in the Premier League, started the season with 6m in the bank and end it with 99.5m! Another thing that being in this league is good with is helping me build a youth network, been asking for affilliates that we can get youth players from and as a result we have set up partnerships with Ajaccio in France and Defensor Sporting in Uruguay. Excited to get some players from there soon. This is now basically my plan from here - set these up and invest in the training ground and youth facilities. Youth Intake - easily the worst we've ever had, had to happen sooner or later but bit annoying to happen in our first prem season. Sascha Weber 37A - an Austrain born Englishman (seriously, has only English nationality despite being born in Austria. Feels odd) training to be our advanced playermaker in CMJohn Ifoni 37B - attacker that I think will be an IF from the left Career Progress Season League Position Junior Coaching Youth Recruitment Notes 2020/21 VNLN 8th Adequate Fairly Basic 2021/22 NVLN 3rd Good Average Recruitment and coaching upgrades Lost playoff semi finals 2022/23 NVLN 14th Good Adequate Youth Recruitment upgrade, started first coaching badge 2023/24 VNLN 7th Excellent Good Got first coaching badge. Cookie147
JALKAPALLOSEURA HERCULES Season 2 - Finnish First Division (8th) An injury ravaged season put us off to a bad start, and things didn't really improve after that. Although we were picking up points when we needed to, we were never far off the drop zone. In fact, we weren't mathematically safe until after the final game, but I always had faith in the squad. Unfortunately, the youth intake from both seasons hasn't produced anyone first team ready, so I'm still sticking with the originals for now. When they play well, they can compete with anyone, but that doesn't happen too often. LEAGUE TABLE PLAYER OF THE SEASON YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON Samuli won this also. YOUTH INTAKE Not overly impressed again, I only kept 6 of them. IMPROVEMENTS I had arranged youth facilities upgrade at the beginning of the season, as per this message: Then at the end of the season, I got this: Then I kicked off, and got this: Fingers crossed they keep their word this time. TRANSFERS PROGRESS FINALLY... I'm being summoned back to my real job tomorrow, and wont be able to play this in the office! thomas_e
Club Olimpo Season Summary 2021 - 2022 Top four finish Our first season in the top flight was a good one. But since FM doesn't provide any information relating to continental qualification I have no idea if I have actually qualified for the Copa Libertadores or not. Would this happen in a Europen league on the game? We started the season really well, beating Velez in the 6th round of the cup a week before the start of the league season (yes, it's all a bit strange) and then following up with two straight wins in the opening games in the league. Two losses, two wins and two more losses followed and that set the tone for the season which was an unstable one! But we got better and better throughout the year and that was certainly helped by our team chemistry improving along the way! We went 11 games unbeaten at the end of the season and even though 6 of those games were draws it was still a great way to finish! We finished miles behind league winners Velez and I wasn't surprised to also find Boca and River ahead of us on the table, but other than that the difference between the Argentinian Premier Division and Second Division wasn't too big! We have some interesting talents coming up as well and I'm excited for next season. I am studying for my Continental C Licence, but we have not gotten facility or reqruitment upgrades. No wonder as we have absolutely no money. Season Summary Key Players Key Talents Season | League | Position | Cup | Continental -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2020/21 | Primera Nacional (2nd tier) | 1st | 6th round | N/A 2020/21 | Argentinian Premier League | 4th | 7th round | N/A

manutdfan1999
So after holidaying in Holland i've picked my team. Im the new manager of Katwijk. Heres my profile, starting squad and facilities. The facilities are very poor but the squad is a decent size with a couple good players. Most positions i have enough players for to go into the season that is presuming i can sign them all to new contracts and i dont lose any to other teams. Also i play using an IR skin so imagine i should progress through seasons relatively quickly Edited July 8, 2020 by manutdfan1999

Alsolate
@manutdfan1999 You seem to have solved the screenshot question. But if you're still seeking options, someone said a while back they use Greenshot so that's what I use and upload to Imgur. Season 6 2025-26 Youth Intake Transfers Finances I know the transfer screenshot is taken a month early but I'm in the mood for writing the season summary now. I can provide a complete one showing June if requested. Lots of things seemed to happen this season. We recorded our lowest finish in 2. Liga. We broke our goalscoring record. Our young left back won German U17 player of the season, beating a talent from Dortmund. We dropped into a negative bank balance briefly. I switched a player role in our tactics for a while with little success. The youth preview mentions this year's group potentially being a golden generation. As usual we lost in the 3rd round of the cup to a Bundesliga side. Main goals for the coming season are as follows: - Reduce the player wages. We should have a healthy bank balance and I've been very lax recently in giving senior player pretty much whatever they want due to the necessity of retaining them. With good youth players I can start selling the poorer ones. - Try and get more 4.5* coaches to improve first team players. - Find a cb/cm to retrain into the dm role as the ageing Pollasch is declining fast, and one of the main reasons we finished so low I suspect. - Try and promote another 4 or 5 of the high potential players in U19s and give them game time where possible. Mikus
Rijnsburgse Boys 2023/24 League - A backwards step this year, as we struggled to score. This resulted in a lot of tactic tinkering which didn't seem to change our fortunes much. Frustrating as we had quite a few good results , but again we were never in any real danger of relegation. Cup - We made it through the first round for the first time! Then went out in the second round. No excitement. Youth Intake - Decent intake again with a few players I'll definitely be using next year. We've had some facilities upgrades in the last couple of seasons so hopefully the good intakes continue. Next year - Hopefully we'll actually improve this year and make the playoffs. If we can play like we showed we could in a few games this season there's no reason we can't.

manutdfan1999
Katwijk 2021/2022 Season League Table Youth Intake Transfers Squad Fixtures 1 Fixtures 2 So that was a very tough season probably the hardest one for me on the version of fm. In the end a 17th place finish is above the target i had for the season. Making the 2nd round of the cup was nice aswell as i was certain we would go out at the first hurdle. We had long streaks this season without wins and were lucky in the fact that there were a couple teams that were worse than us this season but we may not get lucky like that again so we need to find a way to stop going on long spells without wins. Key Players Not many players had what id usually class as a good season by normal standards but a couple players were better than the rest. Joey - One of our CMs was key to staying up with his 7 goals making him top scorer, unfortunately I cant get him to sign a contract as it says he has retired from this level of football so hopefully he sticks about on his amateur deal. Danny - The other of our CMs was just as vital without contributing many assists or goals. He helped make us tick this year and broke u play well. Is probably our best player ability wise so we need to keep him around for while. Put - Started out as a sub but he progressed well throughout the season and while he wasnt amazing by any stretch he was solid and looks like he has a lot of room to develop. I really like the look of his stats and think he will be a key player for many years to come. Has been getting called into the Belgium u19 squad alot so might have really good potential. Youth Intake The youth intake has left alot to be desired with no one really standing out. A few will likely get games next year but im not too hopeful for this bunch, best is probably this kid Will need retraining to CM and hopefully he can develop nicely Season Divison Position Cup YR JC TF YF Notes 21/22 DDK 17th 2nd Round Basic AVG Poor Poor Survived, got 2 coaching badges, upgrades to JC,TF and YF

XaW
@Svarteq: I think I got it work. I have no idea how, or why it works now, but it does. I went into the editor and loaded up the changes. Everything looked fine, so I tested the rules and saved it as a new file and now it works.... For whatever reason... Try it now. test2.fmf

The only "bug" I've found so far is that 3rd teams seems to be able to play in the same leagues as some 2nd teams. Other than that the file seems to work fine for me. There was one year I didn't compete in the cup though, but I don't know if that is something that happens in real life, so I didn't mind much.
Padders
Season Review 2177/78 Relegated to Championship again All my defenders worth less than £1m combined Not had a decent center back for over 20 years
Brentmeister
@Padders would employing a hoyd who plays 5 at the back & a catenaccio/park the bus style who also has a decent atrribute rating in defensive training, give you a better chance of getting some good defenders? I've no idea if it'll work but it might be woth a try if you haven't already, I'm just thinking out loud! Edited July 9, 2020 by Brentmeister
Cookie147
JALKAPALLOSEURA HERCULES SEASON 3 - Finnish First Division (8th) Our worst points tally so far, but a season that gives hope going forward. Hari's men were flying at the early stages of the season, and hopes were pinned on a top 4 finish. But the famous FM collapse kicked in and we sunk like a stone, in to the bottom half. This is were we stayed. However, the bright side is we managed to improve our youth facilities to 'basic', and surprisingly turned pro. I asked, expecting to be swiftly shown the door, but Mr chairman was well up for it. I hope I haven't made a mistake! LEAGUE TABLE PLAYER OF THE SEASON Haris Dzuho won his second player of the season award despite being knackered all season. YOUNG PLAYER OF THE SEASON Marauding left winger, Hekuran Harani won his first award. YOUTH INTAKE Not impressed at all with my Finnish/Iranian Head of Youth Development. I had a stern word with him after he came in to my office with this document! Sauli Ruokangas, looks ok though if he can fulfil his potential. Maybe being a pro club will help this? ...and I got this Finnish/Iranian 'wonderkid', Milad Mousavi. IMPROVEMENTS Hari is making moves in the coaching world. Watch out! ....and here's confirmation on the Professional status. TRANSFERS PROGRESS FInally... Top half finishes required now. Should be fun. TheRailwaymen
2. Division Relegation - 8th (Just) - 2022 Club info Table Transfers A more difficult season than last year, mainly because Holm went nearly 20 games without scoring and no one else could either, leading to losing to set pieces over and over again. We just saved ourselves on the last day beating Naesby 2-1 and sending them down in the process. The quality down here is unreal! I was predicted to finish rock bottom again though, so maybe I am a small club in comparison. There are a few fallen giants knocking around which is going to make progress hard. The youth intake was decent. I really needed a rightback so O.Christiensen 02c is welcome! We are still dire at centerback and up front but a couple of the first years prospects became key players like Jens Meyer 01a, Thomas Anker 01b, Oliver Vinther 01c and LArs Hartman 01e. Rinke 02a is another leftback (I now have 4 good prospects) so I am training him as a CB. We had our first international callup, on loan Hans Debes 01n got called up for the Faroes U23s! Winski
End of season 2020/2021 The first season is always difficult. But I can't complain at all. The quality of the squad is rather bad, but we managed to finish 12th in our first season. Only a couple of points more and we could have qualified for the playoffs. So that will be my aim for next season: qualify for the playoffs. The youth intake preview wasn't very promising, although the "golden generation", but with only a couple of youth players currently in my U18 squad and, as mentioned earlier, the quality of the first team is rather bad. So I didn't had high hopes. The intake itself was quite bad. I am not even going to show some players as they are just bad, really bad. I gave them almost all a youth contract, just to have some players in the U18 squad. This the tactic I'm playing with currently: I build this with a test-game with Kaiserslautern and with Shamrock Rovers and the results were promising. Now I will use it with Milano City. I also got a Strikerless variant, but I will try that one later in this save. Edited July 10, 2020 by Winski
Brentmeister
@Padders someone like this could be great. Good personality, good defensive coaching rating, good determination, good working with youngsters, good judging player potential, catenaccio tactical style, high reputation. If he had a 3/5 at the back preferred formation and an even better personality, he would be perfect for you to experiment with. (obviously not this actual guy, he probably died 130 years ago in your save!) Edited July 10, 2020 by Brentmeister

Brentmeister
I like him. 4141, direct, green everywhere. If this doesn't yield any decent defenders i'm not sure what will.

Mikado911
@Padders Not sure it would help much. He has also the Tiki-Taka as preferred style which does strike me as defensive minded.
