Well, that ended quickly. Is that a new record? Resigned, after 15 league games (1W, 1D, 13L). Time to try again LOL

ha, save before this one i was sacked after no victories in 28! i should have resigned but I was kinda intrigued how far i could go being that bad!

Giving this a try in Poland, a country where I've never managed before.

As required, here's my manager profile on the day of his appointment as manager of GKS Katowice. Naturally my first task was to learn how to pronounce the team name, which was thankfully seems quite simple; "cat-uh-veet-sa" I believe.

I figured it was worth checking out the youth intake from the season before, which contained a few promising players.

Nothing too exciting and nobody likely to make an immediate impact, but in a few years' time you just never know. Orpik has a few interesting mental stats and a half decent technical base.

I set the team up in a 4-4-1-1 formation for the upcoming season to begin with, with the option of dropping the M(C)s into DM(C)s for tougher games. Both-footed left winger Adrian Blad looks like the team's best player, and he wears the armband for the coming season.

2028/29 (season 9)

League 2

Finish: 1st

Season Summary

what a season. we went out of all three cups at the first time of asking but that just meant we could concentrate on the league, where we were fantastic. I did wonder if once out of the National League we could carry our momentum on into league 2, as there isn't really too much difference in quality between them. After winning all 6 league games in october we never looked like giving up first place. we were so far ahead of fourth we were pretty much promoted by christmas. we still lost the odd one here and there so we were never that far ahead of the chasing pack, but far enough to never really be threatened either. In the end we were champions with 5 games left to play. The low point of the season came in the final game - a draw would have given us 100 points, but we lost and finished on 99.

Players

Cherubin Mutomobo 27A - wow. what a player. He finished last season strongly but nothing prepared me for this. He was immense. playing on the right hand side of a 3 man strikeforce he hit 47 goals in 45 games, including a ludicrous run of 13 goals in 4 games in January. Halfway through the season I was informed that....

29mutombohowgoodishe.thumb.JPG.a3a6c8e1cee497a22d6ec144fd6b5984.JPG

my own premier league striker in league 2! at 18!!! on a 4 year contract as well, lovely stuff

Curtis Deegan 26B - Our midfield general that is also apparently premier leage quality. No goals this season but 25 assists again shows his importance to us. Hopefully I can keep hold of him

Tony Wilkie 22B - Upstaged by the two above, he still hit 31 goals.

Youth

A nice amount of green but no golden generation

29youthpreview.thumb.JPG.0ac459f572b5f8bdd04571c97da4facf.JPG

the intake looks ok, some really nice personalities at least. No obvious stars though

Finances and Upgrades

I noticed that our board had negotiated the sell on clause on the left back we sold a few years back at 7.8m so i jumped at it and funded another few upgrades. We've still got 4m in the bank too.

I'm intriged to see if we can steamroller League 1 now, we've got players who can

Iceland grew a bit cold, so I'm having yet another restart. I'm going to make Cape Verde the biggest footballing nation in the world.... of you know, just win things with EA Bragança who get in a lot of Cape Verdean youth players...

WxOF6KP.png

I had a go with them many moons ago, but I got relegated, so I'll try again and I have already rediscovered the "12 homegrown players" rule, that very few of the squad have. So no bench for me!

Season 2020/21 (Season 1) Review - Campeonato Nacional Prio A - Portugal

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

I had an attempt with this team earlier and I bombed and got relegated with games to spare. This time we had many of the same issues, like few to no defenders, but at the same time I built a rather defensive 4-1-4-1 based on what I had success with in Iceland and it seemed to work quite nicely. We didn't concede much, but we also struggled a bit with goals. As the season went on we were just above the relegation zone, but struggled to really pull away from it. When the intake came along and I could finally have a full bench and a few extra defenders in the squad we picked up a few extra points and secured another season here with 2 games left.

In the Taça de Portugal Placard we lost to Merelinense in the 1st round.

Youth intake

Since the squad is quite poor, the intake was pretty good and I needed that great right back!

Sorry to post this in here but thought i would give a quick update , I am really enjoying this challenge.

My No Transfer / Youth Intake challenge is going really well for the first team but I managed to get promoted to the prem too early for any of my decent intakes to really have an impact and I am struggling with the original Ipswich players to do a lot in the Prem.

Still no transfers in 3 seasons.

FC Energie Cottbus - 2030/31 Review - Bundesliga

2082496462_FinalTable.thumb.png.3c37ad0e91d2224600b5c20f90caa14c.png

Having finished in our highest ever position (not just under me, but the club's history) we had plenty of reason to be optimistic going forward for our 4th Bundesliga campaign in five seasons. What I wasn't prepared for or expecting was for our season to go as well as it did, or for the likes of VfL Wolfsburg, Bayer 04 Leverkusen or RB Leipzig to have such miserable campaigns by their standards, with the latter of the teams even approaching me to become their manager partway through the season. With these three big teams having really bad seasons, this opened the door for some of the smaller teams, like ourselves, to take advantage. Take advantage we did! We managed to secure our best ever finish of 6th place, our first ever top half finish in the Bundesliga and qualifying for the Europa League in the process. Despite our impressive finish, the board still only want us to make sure we stay in the Bundesliga next season, which I am happy with. Especially with some weaknesses in the squad that I wish could be filled with some intakes going forward.

1455496660_AzirKusturica.thumb.png.80f91999b8f6e4d1b0a8f834af5196c0.png30709544_NicoSteuk.thumb.png.fa27d9dd1c9f30dfb31f0bbf808ef358.png135229224_FinnGoossens.thumb.png.56bd0ee34c361bc8bd36ef9d6e55b0f0.png

Who helped make our best ever finish possible? Well our three best performers did so, Azir Kusturica managed to score 13 goals and get 9 assists with an average rating of 7.31, Nico Steuk managed to get 13 goals and 8 assists with an average rating of 7.20, while Finn Goossens managed to get 21 goals and 2 assists with an average rating of 7.18. These three at the front were incredible and with Finn Goossens now being a club legend with 113 league goals in 228 league games and Nico Steuk being a club icon with his contribution too, I can only see things going up from here with these three players at the club.

1989035351_YouthCandidates.thumb.png.9d2c95926f347e7aa893e48faf328725.png

For the first time in a long time, our youth intake wasn't something that I was that excited about, which feels weird to say given that it wasn't that bad. I guess it goes to show how strong the squad has become now with the intakes and the facilities we have at the club now.

37118747_MauricePohland.thumb.png.cd94598da4cb7200502ff1d039e6b49a.png

As for the player who was the most impressive in this intake, I would have to say it was Maurice Pohland, but given we have so many good goalkeepers at the club already, I'm not sure if I'm as excited as I should be, especially not that our first choice goalkeeper is considered to be a Bundesliga quality goalkeeper and is just 21 years of age now.

At the end of the season, I managed to convince the president to upgrade our youth facilities, which should make them state of the art facilities at the end of the season, but was unable to convince him to upgrade our training facilities, which was annoying. Still, with our current stadium now a 27,078 seater stadium with 22,565 seats, we're in a good position and can improve rather quickly going forward with not only the Bundesliga prize money of £55.29M, but also the incoming Europa League money as well, if we can stick around in the competition for a while. We just need to win a trophy now to build the confidence that we can challenge for silverware going forward in the upcoming future. Once we're considered good enough to do that, then I can safely declare that we are a Bundesliga quality team.

which isn't too shabby for a league 1 striker! so, what d my board do? accept a 9m bid as being too good to turn down. I complained, they agreed and then the week after accepted a 12m bid as being too good. I talked them into trying to negotiate higher and offered him out at a ridiculous price to make everyone leave him alone.

Brentford called my bluff.....

30m + 50% for a league 1 striker is nuts! I still have him until January as well as they missed the deadline. I'm gonna miss him though....

2029/2030 (season 10)

League 1

Finish 12th

Season Summary

I spent so much of August trying to keep hold of my best players I barely noticed the amazing start we made. Cherubin Mutombo was at the heart of everything again and with him in the side i had a clear chance of back to back promotions. I was getting offers for him every day and after the board accepted twice only to pull out after i protested i realised my best chance of keeping him was to offer him out at stupid prices. Brentford called my bluff, too late for the August window, so on January 1st Mutombo was gone.

30mutombosold.thumb.JPG.e866ff76eed1e8e28075b946fc73e161.JPG

30wonderkidmutombo.thumb.JPG.1e31af95500c6797a4445474df382379.JPG

turns out he was a wonderkid as well!

He scored 17 in 21 for us before he left and got us to 5th. Once he went we really striggled and only won another 5 matches all season, falling to 12th in the end. Disappointing after such a good start but that's what having a superstar in your team can do.

As for Mutomob, he's really kicked on at Brentford. 30m is already looking like a bargain for them Good job i got that 50% future sale clause added

Players

Steve Rowley 28C - Stepped up to fill the Mutomobo shaped void in the side. He spent last season winning the National League North on loan at Grimsby and did so well I threw him in our first team. He made the step up with consumate ease and looks a great prospect

Curtis Deegan 26C - Really worried - he's got hundreds of clubs after him and only a year left on his contract. He's absolute key to our midfield and, at the minute, irreplaceable. Not sure whether to risk keeping him and hope he signs a new contract in the next 12 months or cash in.

Youth

finally, a golden generation! although the lack of green lines was a little disconcerting, the promise of a Congolese striker was intriguing

30youthpreview.thumb.JPG.379dd0c06578a3d573fb295b0f4896a8.JPG

and would you believe it???

youthitake30.thumb.JPG.2bf360dccd97444d1bb4ced54e236b45.JPG

another mutombo!!!! he doesn't look as good as his namesake but with 4 star potential he could still be some player for us. And he's a Mutombo!!!!

30mutombopart2.thumb.JPG.a49c6f8ca7803a76f2b9e3246cf0e137.JPG

Finances and Improvements

well, at least they are healthy. 30m in the bank! The board gave me a transfer budget of 28m and i can't touch it! they won't sanction any more improvements either for some reason... although we will shortly be youth level 2, which is quite exciting

I'd love to give this challenge a go in Northern Ireland, only issue I could think of is getting enough money to develop the facilities early on in the game. Holidaying the first season as I type this and will have to get reading some youth development guides as my knowledge in that area of the game is definitely lacking!

Yes, but since we have way of knowing if the edited league is doing something strange (like millions of pounds to the winner in Moldova), you will have an asterix next to your name in the Hall of Fame should you complete the challenge.

Northern Ireland is fun, but a long drag, so you should be prepared for that. You'd be looking at a minimum of 50-60 seasons to complete the challenge at minimum, and that is with extreme luck with intakes (I mean, look at Padders who have been bouncing between PL and the Championship for centuries! And he would do better in Europe that a Northern Irish would for a long, long time). The challenge there is not becoming the best in Northern Ireland, that is doable, but making waves in Europe will take a long, long time.

2033/2034

LaLiga 2– 5th Promoted Via Playoffs

Fixtures (1) -- Fixtures (2)Fixtures (3) -- Stats -- Awards -- Season Review -- Transfer -- Overall Best XI -- Key Player -- Hot Prospect -- Finances

League: We started our time back in the second tier pretty well, not losing any of our opening 5 games which were against teams that were predicted to do quite well and we were actually looking relatively solid defensively. October saw that solidness disappear as we lost 3 games 3-2 in the month. Other than that, for the most part we were had decent form sitting in and around the playoffs – though it was a very close league this year. The end of the season saw us improve our form a little and be strong defensively as we managed to secure a 5th place spot – only 1 point from automatic promotion.

The first playoff game saw us against fellow relegated side Zaragoza who beat us 2-0 in their home leg, thankfully we played very well in the home leg winning 4-1 to take us through on aggregate and maintain our record of reaching the LaLiga 2 playoff final on each occasion we’ve been in it. We were against a Mallorca side who had missed on promotion via goal difference with the first game at home ending 2-2, a tight affair in the second leg but an 89th minute penalty saw us promoted straight back to LaLiga.

Cup: Our best cup run to date with us managing to get to the 5th round before a tight 1-0 loss prevented us getting to the semi-final.

Squad: There wasn’t really any change with the squad this season though Iriome 13b and Daniel Abal 13d did start staking a claim for first team opportunities towards the end of the season. Acai Sanz 11d ended up on loan in the same tier as us and did manage to get himself 10 goals in a relegated team which is promising.

I’m hoping our B team has finally managed to get promoted to the 3rd tier, with Victor Ramos 11a conceding just 11 goals in their season in the 4th tier.

Club Infrastructure: Our stadium was expanded this season and our youth facilities have reached state of the art which is good. The training facilities also got an upgrade but have another upgrade pending which should hopefully max them out.

Players of the year

Armando 11b: A very solid player in the heart of defense for us 5 goals and 4 assists in all competitions from centre back is very handy. All whilst sulking due to interest in summer and January.

Adolfo Delgado 1d: It’s never really much surprise to see him here, he’s so consistent for us. I am worried that me persisting with him will prevent Jeronimo 9a from reaching his potential with us though.

Jose Bonilla 10a: Bonilla started the season quite slowly but by the end he had recorded some incredible numbers, 18 goals and 11 assists is good especially as I wasn’t playing him to be our main goalscorer.

Youth Intake

Not a fantastic intake really, and most the players aren’t really in positions we need and the better potential players have bad personalities.

d9da7b3cd91dc156f226bb9594638e8e.tif

Mauro Garcia 14a: A right back, he doesn’t look terrible so could develop to a good option for us at right back.

Aday Rosales 14b: A centre back who supposedly has some decent potential, though he does look to be lacking in a lot of areas for centre back so wouldn’t be surprised if he never makes a first team appearance.

Mamadou Ba 14d: Attribute wise probably the best player of the intake and does look as though he could be an ok player. The major issue he’ll have is all 3 of the midfielders from last seasons intake look as though they’ll be much better.

Overview/Looking Ahead

Even though for the most part we were a good team this year the league was so close that I did wonder if we’d even make the playoffs. Our end of season form did give a little of a buffer but we still only made it by 4 points yet just needed 1 more point for automatic promotion.

I’m most happy with fairly consistent form in January as 8 of our first choice 11 were subject to bids from other teams with a number being upset those offers weren’t accepted but it didn’t derail our season.

The only aim next season is to try and stay up. We have largely a similar team to last time in the top fliht just with the younger members of the squad having a year extra development. I don’t think we’ll comfortably stay up but do feel we have at least a chance of doing so.

So just started this challenge with Donegal Celtic in the Northern Irish 3rd tier. It's going to be a huge challenge, I only had one centre back in the whole club and only 14 players in total so have had to sign up a greyed out centre back which means this guy will be in my starting XI!

In addition to the answer above, I think yes you can but it would be noted. I did same. I liked the look of Caledonian Braves from Olivier's post so I tried to get them. After 50-60 reloads, I gave up and downloaded a Scottish structure so that I could play with them.

I am going to try this out myself.

The perseverance you've shown is astonishing.

Not sure I've ever seen anyone get near to 100 seasons, let alone 200 seasons.

I cannot wait to see where some teams have fallen down the league?

How many leagues in England are still active?

@XaW Is EA Bragança hard coded to produce Cape Verdeans like this? I had a look in the editor and I can't see anything that would make it do this.

Seems like an interesting team, do you know any others that do this sort of thing?

Yeah, I don't know why, but they do. I've seen there's some others, like @OlivierL have a Scottish team that produces French newgens. There are also some in Germany (I think Croatia Berlin produces Croatians?). In previous FM's Norwegian side Oslo City produces various African newgens as well, but they've since changed it.

Thanks Padders. I will give it a look. Just in case, do you have any earlier saves from the first 50 years?

I can't find one, sorry (I thought I had saved one on a file sharing site before but can't seem to find it)

All the leagues are still active (PL and all 3 EFL)

Yes, but since we have way of knowing if the edited league is doing something strange (like millions of pounds to the winner in Moldova), you will have an asterix next to your name in the Hall of Fame should you complete the challenge.

2030/31 (season 11)

League 1

Finish: 1st

Season Summary

Well, I didn't see that coming. Our season started with three straight defeats and us playing really poorly. We quickly rallied from that poor start to sit mid-table by October. A really good run before christmas pushed us to the edge of the play offs but we just couldn't put a good run together, drawing too many games. A really good March suddenly put us in the play-offs and with 5 games to play we were 2 points off second place Crewe, 8 points behind leaders Millwall. Our next game was away to runaway leaders Millwall and I'd mentally written it off, thinking we'd have to settle for a play off place. But this happened

1101778863_31only4gamestoplay.thumb.JPG.e0d836bf043ba7a8c8d8c67e5bd5f966.JPG

Suddenly we were second, 5 points behind the leaders and looking really good. We won again, Millwall lost again and we were 2 points behind first and a point ahead of third. Heading into the final game of the seaosn the title wasn't on my mind, I was too busy looking over my shoulder at Crewe. If we bettered or got the same result as them we'd be promoted. In the end the final results turned up these crackers:-

31finalday.thumb.JPG.2928a5955d38bd8fe3d102c9edf25c4f.JPG

somehow we snatched the title on the last day of the season! That sequence of results waited until the last possible moment! We won our last 7 on the bounce to snatch it, an unbelievable end to what started as such disappointment

Players

Steve Rowley 28C - Another great season from the lad, cementing his place as our key striker. Won league 1 top scorer for the second season in a row and hit 34 in all competitions. No mean feat in a three man strikeforce

Juddy Mutombo 30A - I wanted to ease him in gradually, being only 16 and woith fairly poor physicals, but every time I put him in he scored. I stopped resting him around christmas and he played every game thereafter. Broke the LEague 1 average rating record averaging almost a goal a game. Our run of good form coincided with him being a first team regular. Still only 17, he scored 22 in 24 league games and finished second top scorer. I can't wait for him to play a full season!

Curtis Deegan 26D - I was finally able to tie him down to a long term contract which was a huge relief. he's such an important player in our set-up. Plays as a DLP and again topped the assists chart, this time with 17.

Youth

Really exciting youth preview, so many green lines and a promise of a golden generation to boot!

31youthpreview.thumb.JPG.3176632b2400238ce5d2f4b5a4cd5f4e.JPG

I couldn't wait to see the intake and I suppose it was only to be expected that it would be a bit of a damp squib

31youthintake.thumb.JPG.ca1f2120d993aebcaa8fd0cadb985a31.JPG

Manga looks a really good prospect in goal but the rest are a bit meh. And please, I don't need any more strikers!

Finances and Improvements

We still have the proceeds of the Mutombo V.1.0 sale in the bank so are sitting really comfortably. The board finally agreed to improve our facilities once promotion was confirmed so we'll have a fantastic set-up for a championship club. the first challenge is to stay in the championship though

U also have a team in Suisse , Nk Pajde Möhlin producing Croatian newgens. But they had same league (registration) issues as Bragança

FC andorra is producing newgens from Andorra. FC Romania (7th tier) is producing Romanian newgens.

Season Summary 2027 - 2028

Top three finish and cup winners!

A great season that saw us finish 3rd in the Bundesliga, a great improvement on last years 8th place. We also managed to win the DFB-Pokal, beating Hoffenheim 2-0 in the final. Both we and Hoffenheim performed way better than expected this season and it was a close race for 3rd place that lasted all the way until the final round of the league. We had a terrible run of form finishing the season, only winning two of our last seven games, but luckily it was enough to finish in a CL-spot.

Our top performers really showed their class this year, but it was also a season that saw us rack up plenty of injuries. When that happened it was obvious that our rotation options are far from Bundesliga quality and especially in defence we struggled big time when injuries and suspensions happened frequently in the second half of the season.

Kevin Wittkowski on the left wing had a fantastic season, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists. 5 player of the match awards and a 7,46 avg. rating, he was the driving factor behind the success this year. Semih Yazici on the right wing also played great, scoring 11 goals. We play a high tempo 4-2-3-1 with high press and pass into space. This really puts pressure on the wingers to perform.

Our best defender, Igli Krasniqi, is the last of our key players that still hasn't signed a new contract. His deal expires next summer and it is absolutely essential that I get him to extend his deal. We can kiss a European spot goodbye if he leaves..

Next year the board has mixed feelings when it comes to our goals:

- Avoid relegation from the Bundesliga

- Advance to the knock out stage of the Champions League

:idiot:

But we will do our best!!

2245/46 season review

Promoted as runners up

Lost 5 out of first 7 games so went back to the tactic that I won with the PL

Form a lot better

Don't hold out much hope for PL

Last couple of youth intakes have been poor so new HOYD appointed

I'm guessing by using the instant result mod. You can really motor through seasons with that

Season 2021/22 (Season 2) Review - Campeonato Nacional Prio A - Portugal

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

The biggest issue with the squad is that it's so varied in quality, so our matches really depend on who is available or not. So we can beat anyone, but also lose to anyone and it's anyone's guess what happens in our matches. Still, we survived again and finished slightly higher than last season. So all in all, I'm very happy with how the team is progressing. A thing I've noticed is that a lot of the youth players are taking Portuguese second nationality, and while I don't mind, I still hope the best ones will play for Cape Verde and not Portugal in the future.

In the Taça de Portugal Placard we beat Vilaverdense before losing to Belenenses in the 2nd round.

I can complete a season in 10-12 hours

Got a decent laptop

I don't need to search for player transfers

fair play, that is impressive!

if i played every game it'd take me a week or two to get through a season. instant result lets me get through in a day or two

not searching for transfers definitely speeds things up a lot as well

Season 2020/21 Review – Belfast Telegraph Championship 2 – Northern Ireland

League (9th) SquadTransfers - Finances

Top Goalscorer – Declan Monaghan (13)

Top Average Rating – Declan Monaghan (7.16)

Most Assists – Kevin Trainor (11)

I’ll have to admit that this is my second attempt at the challenge, in the first attempt I didn’t even manage to make it to the youth intake before getting sacked. However, this time around I managed a respectable 9th place finish, two spots above the media prediction. The squad was very thin when I took over which led to me signing up many of the greyed-out players in the club, one of which slotted into the first team at CB, which highlights the lack of depth to begin with.

Thankfully we had enough quality at the other end of the pitch to stay up and survived comfortably in the end. I was delighted with the youth intake which comes around two games before the end of the season, meaning I don’t get much use out of the new youngsters. There looks to be enough quality in the team now to hopefully have a crack at promotion next year. I managed to get the board to agree to upgrades to Junior Coaching and Youth Recruitment despite the financial difficulties. The only issue is that we are only semi-pro, and I fear that the best prospects will be poached meaning that we won’t even receive a transfer fee.

Youth Intake

Kion Richardson YP1a – What a player for the first intake! English/Anguillan Winger who I am hoping to re-train as an AMC due to his lack of pace. He is probably the best player at the club now.

Ben Patterson YP1F – Another great player, unfortunately we already have a few good strikers so he probably won’t feature too much next season. Will probably have to work on his physicals.

David Long YP1J – Looks to be a nice little technical player who will most likely feature a lot as a DLP next season.
