I think the 2024 version of Kyle Walker is pointless in games like this. You see Trippier deliver a ball like that and just… switch them so Trips can do it more often?

Feels like he's a large part of the nonsensical system though. Side can't get out and you have a free role to do what you want, you drop back to collect the ball, quicken the tempo and move things forward, you don't move out to Foden's position and lose the ball under no pressure

When you look at our inability to play progressive passes, it is crying out for progression monsters like TAA or Trippier to play in their actual position instead of Walker just knocking it to his CB or keeper every time.
