  1. Like the Ark of the Covenant, I can't quite look away. So let's take both of the current announcements and strip out the fluff to see exactly what has been said. June We're going to be more transparent We have a new logo and branding Moving to Unity has been really challenging We're cutting a lot of things because not enough people are using them Here's an idea of what the screens might look like Here's an idea on the dates (lol) September FIFAe was great, wasn't it lads? Moving to Unity has been really challenging Game's delayed, soz International management is gone I'm focused on the game, so all work trips cancelled I'm also cancelling a personal holiday We're removing one attribute from the game Now out of those, how many are actually positive changes that instil confidence in a product they actually want us to pay for? Setting them out, I don't think there's any. I guess in name, these are development updates. They're not here to essentially reveal FM25, they've been pretty clear about that. But given the tone is centred around that product, it's a really bold decision to spend two updates now with no real positives added to sweeten the negatives. And ironically, the reason we're getting these is because people moaned about transparency. In previous years we'd probably have had largely silence, then got the FM25 reveal, where you could set the undoubted negatives alongside the things you are going to get. All we've been told is what we're not getting, and that things are hard.

  2. Getting the small violins out for Miles cancelling his holiday to the USA. Extremely unprofessional and childish to even include a point like that. No international football is game breaking. Fans have wanted it updated not removed from the game. Such a negative two updates has hardly wetted the appetite.

  3. FM25 should have been put aside. Release a data update for fans of the game and id happily pay £10 for that if it means development could continue Then release a polished FM26 at the beginning of the season rather than midway through. Then it could continue every year. First time I can honestly say I have been underwhelmed by a future FM.

  4. SI have never cared about cosmetics / immersion, and this bugs me greatly. I guess a bit of it is down to licencing, but a lot of seems to be just not caring. There are some issues which would need a bit more attention and some which would be a relatively easy fix. Yet, instead now you get to wear an eyepatch! /Start of rant/ Some of the decisions in this regard are also on the verge of sensibility: why prioritize a manager being able to put on a ring on every single finger which you never ever see after the character selection screen, yet have spectators at the matchday wear 6 uniform outfits in the entire crowd, something which you look at about 30-50 % of your time in the game? Why the devolution of player faces compared to '18 (they had maybe less detail but were not in the middle of uncanny valley). Why does the community need to plug the gaps with facepacks like Z's. You can't licence the face of a non-existing person. The stadium models used to be better and more varied, there was a dowgrade there as well. (For instance no more athletic track), the less said about stadium environs, the better. Stadiums in lower leagues with 4 full stands generated where their capacity is 500-1000. All of them chock full of people on matchday. Scraping club colours out of the UI due to legibility / ui issues instead of looking into how to integrate them in a legible way - or have a bit of logic in selecting colours that does not allow low-contrast combinations. (Example: instead of using yellow for Barcelona text, using a slightly darker blue and a slightly brighter red) Kit / shorts / socks designs never reviewed as there are options in there which get picked 0.15 % of all kits (why are they still in and not international football?) Kit colour clash detection is comically bad, and it would not be a difficult thing to fix. (I recently played in red vs Villareal in yellow. Game deemed my green GK clashing for some unfathomable reason and generated an orange one...) /end of rant/

  5. I saw the development update had been uploaded and I was excited to read it... but what an absolute embarrassment. Miles is so out of touch with the FM fan base. I sometimes wonder what goes on in his mind. To remove features just to bring them back in 2026 as a 'new feature' is a joke. You can't wrap it up any other way. Removing international football to concentrate on the women's game is laughably pointless. Way less people will play a women's career rather than play as an international team. But yeah, well done Miles on cancelling a holiday. Our hero!

  6. FM24 advertised as the best version ever and the most polished one but at the end it failed to deliver because of new and existing from previous versions bugs.. Then they said that their development team have set their focus on FM25 that they were working on it for 2 years so that's why some bugs won't be fixed till then... Now early September, not only we have see nothing from the new ME but they announce that the new features will be delayed until the end of September for a product they working on for 2 years!!! Not only that but they give us info of what has been removed (shouts, international management, kilos, etc)or not working and they celebrate for premier league license and women football!?! Guys are you serious? For how long will you treat your loyal customers (since 1997) like that because you are a monopoly?

  7. Too bad international management isn’t in the game.

  8. The weird thing for international football is that it stuck in the weird paradox SI said the game mode not being played by player base -> SI not focus much on International -> The mode suck -> Players complain and ask/ suggest to improve it (still no rest in International football even if it been asked for years) -> SI did very little to improve it -> The players try to play but still suck so they drop it mid way -> The player base play it less and less -> SI said the mode is not being play alot. Like bruh the reason the mode not being played is because the mode not being improved much, even when we are in big event of the year which is the world cup.

  10. 3 development updates; and all of them was negative. Removing stuff, canceling travels and all of that non sense to fan base. Bad communication. Sorry. I can understand the development phase - behind of scenes; but today (yesterday) was seriously bad communication. Seriously, I can't think any way to return any positivity towards FM25. FM26 makes more sense when some basic features will return back (it's sounds like a joke). Unless, Sports Interactive thinks, the marketing department; is ok to ask someone to pay 60€ with less features (but better graphics?). If this is ok, then I hold my hands up. Good luck SI and people which manage social media and communicate directly with people. GG

  11. Season 23 - 2045/46 - Czechia - First Division: I accidentally copied this link first so why not start with the FA cup? Wasn't a priority, but we're good enough to win even with a lot of rotation. Actually - 2045/46 - Czechia - First Division: We didn't get a trophy lift this year for some reason. We ran away with this. At the end of the season, I rotated as much as possible, but with heavy fixture congestion, injuries, and resting players we didn't focus too hard on the league. I may have buried the lede here a bit, but the league focus was secondary. Champions League: Challenge Complete! We had a favorable draw and pushed for the top-eight finish, but we fell one point short. For whatever reason we could not fully unlock again Nice, but fortunately, we played defensively sound and managed to blank them on aggregate. Newcastle was a favorable draw. They have developed into a Europa League Powerhouse but had no success in the Champions League, and have remained a 6-8th place premier league team on average. Man City remains Man City, but for whatever reason we play them tough. I hate winning on penalties, but I wasn't turning it down. Girona have developed into a team that consistently makes European competitions and regularly advances into the knockout rounds. However, we were the better team. A late goal in the second leg made the score look closer than it felt. I have to quickly pivot to tactics talk. Here's my default tactic: Nothing particularly fancy here. The only player instructions I have are on the WB's the shoot less often. As the match progresses I'll switch the mentality to positive or cautious (this is the only tactic I've ever had where cautious scores a lot). I'll peek the scouting report to see if the team plays cautious or balanced etc and sometimes go into a match other than Balance. In the continental competitions and against teams that are just better defensively I wind up going more direct, and don't play out of defense etc. I say all this because the scouting report for Bayern was this very defensive shape (one I struggle against) and a cautious mentality. I knew I'd have to go more direct, but with a more talented, cautious, tiki-taka team I needed to bring the chaos. Enter Yolo mode. My hope was to come out, sucker punch them and hope I can keep them at bay. Worst case, they quickly score and I go back to my normal tactic and hope to win normally. It wasn't a total FM'ing. The constant attack unsettled them, and we benefited! I had to geek out about the tactics a little. Final transfer screen. @darren1983 please add to the completion page

  12. Women's football should be in the game. International football should be in the game. Player weights should be in the game. None of these items are exclusive to each other. We shouldn't have to pick and choose. This ultimately comes down to poor management and decision making which has been pervasive for years in terms of certain editions of the game and is now clearly evident with such a massive migration and change. Other things I want to highlight: 1. SI's business surely has as much to do now with data and analytics for real world teams as it is about the game. Arguably the game is less important than dealing with clubs directly for data. This has been on my mind for some time and I think is a contributing factor to the feature removal. 2. I've never seen any video game company use analytics and numbers as much as a determining factor as SI has and yet be so inconsistent with the numbers that they tout. For example, it's all well and good to say 5% of people play International Management, but this is a feature which has had no changes for ages and is the pinnacle of a players career rather than the aim in most cases. It's impossible to know how many people will engage with women's football in the game, but I can tell you without any hesitation that it will never be removed from the game after it's implemented. Both on societal grounds and the example I highlighted in point 1. SI wants to be a big player in providing data to the pro game, and women's football is a massive opportunity for that as a growing industry. I'm assuming in terms of the above two features that the calculated judgement is that x will draw more than y in terms of usage, but how would you know? There were numbers being floated a few years ago that as few as 5% of people were playing womens international football in FIFA? Again, for the reasons I highlight above, there are financial and societal implications that would prohibit them from deciding to call time on developing women's football in the game if they wanted to do so further down the line. Additionally, 100% of people would have seen weights in the game, and yet nobody seems to point that out and the justification (being made by players, because SI's reasoning is a single ridiculous line) is that it's an irrelevant number and not relevant to the match engine. This is arguably the most egregious removal since nearly every sports game on the market has weight as a relevant factor or visible statistic and if it's indeed not relevant then instead the question should be why not? The fact that this is still being modelled on the backend reeks of dishonesty to me over the actual cause of it. If it's because you're concerned about people getting needled on social media about their weight, then say that. Human beings aren't perfect, it's immersive for people to gain weight if they have a low natural fitness or are low in morale, or other relevant things which are happening. My understanding is that FM is a football management simulation. Removing information that would be relevant to a football manager is against the ethos of the game.

  13. My concern is that Miles and the SI team don't seem to be acting 'excited' about the new change. The way Miles is coming across feels careful, coordinated, and planned. I work in public relations for a major Fortune 500 company, and in my professional opinion, both of the latest updates are focused on managing public perception and persuasion—essentially, damage control. My gut feeling is that SI wouldn't be drip feeding negative changes to FM25 in amongst PR spinning statements (For example the whole "would we do it the same way if we had our time again? is full on sympathy PR tactics) if FM25 was well above the basic expectations of even the most causal Football manager fan/customer. You can never please everyone, and even the best games ever made had hardcore fans that complain about it, but those anoraks are not the target audience for SI in those updates. In a recent interview, Miles said the most worrying line in my opinion "If people are expecting FM24 plus, plus, plus, plus, plus, they're not going to be getting that with FM25." Really do not like that statement...... Onto the end of the month with the actual gameplay reveal and feature releases, hopefully I am completely wrong and they have just been over transparent

  14. By the way, only 5% play international mode because it hasn't been updated in at least a decade. If they had invested time and effort, people would be playing it A LOT more.

  15. The thing is, besides the separate discussions about weight, international management, create-a-club, etc, FM25 has already been a disaster from a project development perspective. Part of my job is to develop products/tools for clients. If at this point of development, I had nothing to show for (please don't mention those screenshots published a few months ago) and all my updates to the client were about removing parts of the product that existed when we made the initial deal, I am 100% sure that the client would take their business elsewhere, because there are hundreds, if not thousands of other companies that can do a similar job to mine. That's the problem with monopolies and I am saying this as someone who has been buying the game almost every year since 2006, I suppose I qualify as a "loyal" customer. It's September and we have no concrete news about AI behavior, player interactions, graphics, newgen faces, things that the majority of the client base is truly concerned about. It is sad to realise, but it has become quite difficult to justify supporting the company this year. It's not a financial justification, but more of a matter of principle.

  16. What honestly baffles me a bit is the inconsistency between different parts of the same announcement. Only 5.6% of players play as NT managers, so we're taking that out. On it's own this would be fair enough, at least for me personally, since it's been undoubtedly in need of a revamp for a long time now, so I can understand the idea of not wanting to put something in the game if you're not pleased with how it looks. But in the very next next paragraph... "We've been laser-focused on introducing Women's Football to FM in the most authentic way possible." Seriously? I understand why as a company SI probably have to go down this path, but I find it hard to believe that the majority of FM players would prefer a game with Women's Football in it rather than a fixed International Management system. Absolutely no disrespect to Women's Football here, but these two statements in the same announcement are a bit of a joke.

  17. It’s okay saying don’t buy it and you are right nobody is forcing anyone to buy it - but the announcements made so far have all been about telling us what they are taking out of the game and that does feel like a kick in the teeth for, especially, long time players who have gotten used to features being added and then developed further in future versions. Again, it’s okay saying don’t buy it, but if the majority took that view the game wouldn’t continue to exist. There is nothing wrong with being critical as long as the point is made fairly. I am massively disappointed in the news so far - I was obviously one of the 5% that played International Management. I usually started off as an international manager before taking a club job 5 or 6 years down the line. So for me one part of the game I really enjoy has been taken away.

  18. Will the incremental facilities improvements be sorted for the next version? It's silly having won the Champions league for example with £100m+ in the bank, upgrading the training facilities from poor to adequate, and then to okay and then to good etc each season We should be able to just upgrade from poor to "top" or whatever is needed, instead of having to incrementally upgrade them. Bournemouth are building a new Training ground IRL. They had poor facilities before. It's not like their Architects said to the club. "Here's the plans guys, it's adequate standard. Once that's built then come back to us and we can look at building some good standard ones" No they simply built state of the art ones.

  19. They've been building this game, with Unity, since ~2021. Miles said last year they'd initially planned to release it as FM22 but Covid delayed everything by years. It feels wrong this suggestion that they've only started working on the game in the last 12 months and are now rushing to get it done unfairly. It's them who set this deadline on themselves 12 months ago, and it's them who are pulling parts of the game because they now can't get it to work. I don't why people are so desperate to make excuses on their behalf.

  20. You can tell from: The way FM24 never delivered on its promises and the abundance of (old and new) bugs The terrible development updates so far in terms of messaging and wording No screenshots or anything gameplay-related being released so far The lack of priority for features that the playerbase truly want (are FM players really more interested in women-leagues compared to international games?) The shift to a new engine that is apparently much harder than anticipated The delay they have done (which would probably be much more if they could, but they are bound to football seasons so they can't delay TOO much) FM25 is going to be a diabolical disaster.

  21. The "We didn't have time to implement International management" is a bit rich when they have left it untouched for years, despite fans calling for improvements year upon year.

  22. This is very poor from SI. The game is obviously not finished, yet pushing for a release with minimal and removed features to meet their annual game release, most likely sold at the same price point? It’s borderline disgusting.

  23. NK Roltek Dob 2049/50 In the summer I decided to let Kompara leave for sunny La Coruna and decided to fully embrace Kavcic as our number one striker. We had few upcoming talents promoted to the first team but usually they were just cameos. At the same time I tried to go back to 4-3-3 but after few games decided to stick with the 3-4-3 that we've been using lately. Mateo Kompara had probably his best season yet, getting 28 assists and 9 goals for us. Matija Kavcic also produced more goals than last season and almost breached 30. In League we surprisingly lost to Mura in quarterfinals. Mura was not our favourite opponent, as they also beat us 7-0 in league few months before that Only Maribor to go.. We managed to advance from League Phase straight into RO16, as we beat all the teams with the exception of loss against Barcelona. We started RO16 with a loss on Nou Camp but we responded swiftly with 3-0 win at home, securing quarterfinals for third time in a row. Against PSG we were up 2-0 until late added time but a VAR penalty gave PSG necessary goal for a rematch. Thankfully in Paris we managed to bring the game to overtime, and then thanks to youngster Ilic's goal to penalties, where we somehow were the luckier one (crazy considering none of our players has penalty scoring attribute above 9). Real Madrid was next and I was sure this was the end of the journey when we only drew at home, but somehow Kavcic had best 2 minutes of his life on Santiago Bernabeu and booked us Champions League finals against AC Milan! I am not gonna spend much time delving into the details.. WE DID IT! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Key players: Mateo Kompara, Tadej Lazar & Matija Kavcic Youth in-take

  24. I think we have to be concerned. I have played CM/FM from the start in 1992. The history tells me to be concerned. CM4, new 2D engine, and CM4 was delayed from november 2002 to 28th of march 2003. The game was a awful to play the first 3 months. FM2009 first time with the 3D engine. The game was awful with bugs and crashes the first 2-3 months. FM25, the new engine has been announced since the announcement of FM2024. Until now, we have only got 3 screenshots of a deeply simplyfied gameplay, and to be fair, it looks like SI wants FM25 to be a console game rather than a PC game. More features has been removed, and we haven´t seen anything to the new Unity engine yet. I hope the best for the future, but I am concerned. Specially for the PC players.

  25. I am generally an optimistic person, but my two pennies: The real UI screenshots won’t look too different from those WIP files. The match day graphics will represent a marginal improvement, but still disappoint most here, including myself. Happy to be quoted on this when it’s all revealed. my faith in the SI project over the last half decade at so - its prioritisation, its comms, its pursuit of public interest press, its general executive decision-making - is extremely low sadly. Women’s football is a noble endeavour but, let’s be clear, the data will almost certainly lay near the true extent of interest in it currently, and that its development has taken x % of total resource in a game rebuild cycle says everything you need to know…

  26. Whatever they reveal in late September, needs to be in depth, a fairly big feature (or a look at the ME) and it needs to look good. They have been honest, but it does feel a bit "0-2" in the positive stakes, need to get a goal back

  27. "In recent weeks, I have also taken steps to free up more of my time to focus solely on development and supporting the wider team. One of our core studio values is Consider the Bigger Picture, and what’s most important right now is focusing on FM25. I mentioned in June that I’d be speaking at the Unite conference in Barcelona as part of the keynote. While we will still have an FM presence there, I will not be making the trip because I need to concentrate all my efforts on directing FM25. It’s for this reason that I will also not be attending Tokyo Game Show, an event I loved last year and really helped make our first-ever release in Japan a big success. I’ve also cancelled a trip to America which I was really looking forward to but the game, and you as the players of our games, are the bigger picture." This makes for worrying reading, if a director needs to cancel keynote speeches, miss scheduled industry shows and also cancelled their own holidays, in order to focus on development then it would be a sign that the excrement is hitting the fan in general (meeting deadlines/milestones and handling existing high impact issues). Hopefully I'm wrong, but it's a red flag. Perhaps they anticipated this when they labelled FM24 as the most feature-complete version (or words to that effect), they knew then that the time they had to work with the Unity engine wasn't going to be enough for everything to switch over to it. There was a comment above about FM graphics not being a reason why we buy and play the game, which might be true to a large degree. But SI appear to be looking at ways to expand into a player base that does value better graphics. That can't have been an easy update for the Miles & the team to publish.

  28. they say only 5% play international management mode. I checked FM 23 achievements, 7.5% won the world cup, let's say half of those who played it, won. that's already 15% of all FM23 players, who played in the world cup. what if we add smaller nations, that do not qualify for the world cup? how do you get 5% SI? 1. no one will pay international management from the start, because it is so bad and has been neglected for years with 0 development 2. since most players start with club management first, it is only those who play long term saves, can engage with international management and only minority of FM players are playing long enough to be offered an international job it is easy to manipulate statistics, to support your point, rather than admit that you have no talent and skill to make international football work within your new or most likely updated code

  29. This talk of "if you don't like it, don't buy it" doesn't make sense. Does this inhibit criticism? Criticism as long as it is constructive is good for companies, and all feedback is feedback, I understand that you like the game as much as I do, I love this game. But it is not pleasant to inhibit others from giving their opinion and criticizing as long as it is constructive.

  30. Just to add, let's be completely honest. SI have a decade long reputation of overpromising and underdelivering on graphics, so anybody hoping that Unity is going to make a massive difference there should temper expectations. Leaving aside the match engine, the GUI has regressed significantly since the implementation of the changes a few years ago to facilitate FM Console. It's been two years and still the squad planner is an inadequate replacement for the Squad Depth page. I made this post nearly two years ago and the Squad Planner has barely moved forward from implementation. I look at stuff like this and it's a perfect case in point of how disfunctional the general approach to development of the game is. Chuck in something new, leave it to stew for 10 years with no further work, remove if in favour of something new and shiny. Oooo! Draggable tiles! Etc. etc. etc. Facegen has repeatedly regressed at a time when we have the technological capability to generate photorealistic faces using AI: Maybe some of these things are being worked on? But we're about two/three months out from the rubber hitting the road with the new game and there's still nothing to show for it. Give us something at least.

  32. That was only at the end of June! Is that really the very early stages? I'm not involved in game development but have seen enough games get developed end released over my 40+ years from afar to think that being less than 5 months from an expected release and 6 weeks from the usual hype cycle starting (and release of new features) and 3.5 months from the usual BETA drop. I wouldn't think it would be so early they wouldn't have a single screenshot they could show off from in game at that stage. Last year when they first announced FM25 is when I'd have expected design docs to be used not this close to release. I dunno if that's an unrealistic expectation or not I can only go off experience of other games releases who either use in game screenshots (labelling them as Work in Progress) or really nice concept art, that usually looks even nicer than what we end up with in the game. I'm waiting for the reveal at the end of September and getting my hands on the game before I make any final judgements of course, but what we've been shown and crucially not shown and told so far has me worried. I genuinely know more about Miles and his holiday plans he's cancelled than the game. (It's interesting people have mentioned Paradox in this thread because at this stage of pre-release they'd not only have screenshots but numerous developer blogs going into features and maybe even a bunch of bug filed developer play through streams)

  34. wow the guilt trip thats been puled here. "I had to cancel travels to focus on FM".... More red flags than a Stalin birthday party. As everyone who works in large organisations knows, doing a crunch is not a sign of dedication or a flex. Its a consequence of bad management

  35. Well if you needed any more confirmation that the development of this game was a mess. Releasing a football game in late November is pretty ridiculous (releasing it in early November was also pretty bad to me). But now we're talking a point where the season is almost half over and it's going to be outdated right out of the box. I'm guessing the player attributes aren't going to be up to date for the release either. You're pretty much better off starting whatever you were going to do in FM 25 with a database update at this point. Hell, I wonder if I'll be able to get it for half price on Black Friday just a week after it releases! The head of the studio "bragging" about canceling his travel plans in an official game update blog is pretty out of touch as well.

  36. I appreciate that all hands are on deck for the big changes for 25, but I plead with SI that they introduce a streamlined version of FM in later releases. Like the brilliant Touch version they stopped doing. I have recently been playing CM 01/02 and actually find it more enjoyable than recent releases of FM. It's completely bloat free and no tedious or repetitive player and press interactions. No promises to make to player's that they will cry about. No social media. No irrelevant emails in the inbox etc It's so much more streamlined and you know what? It's so much better for it. Theres plenty of QOL additions and depth that has been added since obviously, but it's a better game IMO. Someone on here once said that FM is 95% transfer/scouting and tactics. The other 5% is largely irrelevant in terms of impact on the game. Yet since probably 2011, that 5% has been getting bigger in terms of bloat. It's tedious. Repetitive. Broken and most times irrelevant. Some of it was added to increase immersion, yet it's so tedious it actually detracts from it and makes the game less fun. FM released the Touch version in past versions (aka classic for a time) and I gave it a go at the time and enjoyed it far more than the full fat version. It ran quicker. Was less tedious and had all the good bits of FM with the bad stuff much more streamlined. It wasn't perfect but it's such a shame they got rid of it. I know you can designate some stuff to the Ass Man but it's not the same. Touch ran like a dream too. Immersion is created through matches we play and in our heads. Not through a player being angry because I praised him. Or my team throwing a hissy fit because I felt we could improve on our top 4 finish the next season and maybe challenge for the title. Things like agents offering irrelevant players are not immersive or useful. Examples like that are things that absolutely happen in real life, but are not needed in a game. I appreciate there are some people that enjoy the forementioned features, so I am not suggesting we get rid of them, but please SI, can we have a new and improved "Touch" version

  37. Premier League 2042/43 (season 19) Season Summary A dream season! Everything clicked this season and we completed the challenge by winning both the Premier League and Champions League! In the league, we never hit a bad form and had a few periods of very good form. In the end, we only needed to win one of the last two games against Leeds or Crystal Palace. We unfortunately lost to Leeds. Thus I was a bit nervous before the last game. But we won the championship in the end! In Champions League league phase we had a good draw. I played the best 11 against Paris, Milan, and Barcelona, and the second best 11 against the other teams. We qualified as number 4. In round of 16, we were up against AC Milan again. We lost the first game away from home. But in the second leg, we won in the penalty shoot out. In the quarter final, we were up against Paris SG, again. In the first leg away from home, we lost again. In the second leg we won. This time in extra time. In the semi final, we were up against Barcelona, again another team from the league phase. We lost the first game away from home 1-4. I though it was over. But in the second leg we managed to win 4-1 too. We won in the penalty shoot out. 3 great comebacks and we made it to the final! In the final, we were up against Napoli. In the middle of the first half we managed to score from a corner, and just before half time we secured the lead with 2-0. My team has lots of depth and one elite player. I rotated the team a lot and I think a lot of my success was due to playing time management. Flynn developed well this season and he is by far my best player. Eze had a great season with 16 assists and 10 goals. Asamoah and O'Halloran did well in the defense and Harewood and Jamerson did well offensively. For the first time in many years, I did not have any players on the NXGN-list. A bit disappointing. Flynn, my best player, won the best young player award! He has elite mental stats! We also had 4 players on the team of the year! Asamoah also won the best rookie award. The youth intake preview was great. 5 stars and two A's. The actual intake was okay. 4 elite talents, but I am not that happy with the personalities. No outgoing transfers of significance this season. Finances and Upgrades No upgrade to report about here. Next season Well, the challenge is over. Maybe I will continue with this save. Maybe I will play with my only other FM24 save, with my favourite save. Or maybe I will try the Youth Academy Challenge with another team.

  38. I’m beyond disappointed at the loss of international management. I was hoping any announcement would be in the opposite direction and fix issues this mode has had for years. There’s a reason there’s only 5.6% of players and I don’t think it’s through lack of interest. The international management mode has had no real changes in a long time while having some bugs last over multiple versions. I’ve always liked international management as winning a job in-game feels like an achievement after success at club level. im also going to miss trying to win an international job prior to the 2026 World Cup. It’s a little challenge I set for myself to keep things interesting. FM25 sounds like it’s going to get repetitive without international management. Now, on a more cynical level I do wonder if other game modes will be dropped if they have less than 5.6% of players. I know the announcement said it’s shelved for 12 months but if it’s still in FM Mobile I hold hope that it may be reintroduced with a patch at a later date.

  39. Sorry, but no. Removing a fundamental part of a managers judgement when signing players is not a good thing. At least for those who like immersion/realism. This Reddit headline pretty much sums it up. It all exists in the background…but no one is allowed to see it? If it exists then show it in game because it’s obviously of some value…otherwise the category would not exist at all.

  40. I am absolutely shocked. This development update could be a parody. With each new development update we hear more about what has been "cut" from the game. Also Miles pathetic attempt to guilt trip us with his "cancelled holidays". Embarrassing. I am extremely concerned about FM25 now. What state must the game be in that we still have no gameplay footage but only more content that has been cut? Is this good enough? There are so many great games out there right now, I honestly feel this may be the first FM in over 15 years I may not buy.

  41. Sounds like FM26 is the way to go, because FM25 does not make any sense with all of this announcements.

  42. Respecting people based on their choices and gender isn't "woke". It's just something that reasonable, well adjusted grown ups do.

  43. The only one angered by the thread so far seems to be you, telling us how angry everyone else is. Just like in the other thread 😂

  44. I can't say I'm happy about the removal of international management, even if it's for a single year. International management does need improvements (and has done for over a decade now), but even relatively simple things like introducing the same training system as club sides during the international window would be an improvement. One thing I've clearly read differently than most people is (my emphasis below): Only 5.6% of all PC saves have used international management, not 5.6% of players. When Create-a-Club was announced as being dropped in the previous update, it was worded as (again, my emphasis): That suggests 5% of all people who've played FM24 used Create-a-Club. The terminology regarding international management, to me, implies if someone has five save games in a year and one of them involves international management, they'd be counted as five total saves and one international save, not as one person out of those who've played the game who's used the international management feature. It suggests the number of players who have used international management at some point in FM24 is a lot higher than 5.6%.

  45. Putting the removal of yet more modes and features aside. I am absolutely gobsmacked we have still not seen a single in game screenshot or a look at the new graphics in this update.

  46. I have to be honest and don't judge me a bad FM player: if they removed weight without any notification, I'm pretty sure I would have never noticed it.

  47. Wait... WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!? I need a paper bag... Before I get to that, let's start with the good news... Transparency. I like that side of SI of late... That is it. the rest of this blog post is all depressing to read. Firstly, a one third of the blog is about the e-sports of Football Manager... great... what does exactly has to do with FM25? Why is in this developer's blog post in the first place? Do different blog post about it. Not here. The most depressing part begins the removal of another feature, this time International football and a feature that hasn't been touched for years and now it isn't on par to their standards... What is exactly going on here? Why the drastic change of heart? Why now of all versions to change it? I mean you already spreading to thin with new Engine, plus with entire new side to football altogether, with women football... and you are changing now of all versions... Seriously... The correct time for that change was in FM23, with the World Cup was in November... Not in FM25... That is what surprises me the most about this blog post... Then naming a pointless excuse how much percentage of user base use it... Can we please drop this focus on percentage and just deliver a computer simulation game, that is balance of simulating being a manager of football and fun game? If International games is a key fundamental part of universe of football, let alone of manager, it should be in it. Not excuses. Regardless... I wonder what other new feature are going to take priority over this one. If you can't deliver just maintain what you had in previous versions. We got use to it, doesn't affect our game play for one more version. The removal of it, does affect my gameplay (each person has the same or different opinion). As for Miles saying he won't make public appearances... sorry, but don't care. I do really feel for your team, though. Probably is currently doing extra hours by this point to deliver what little features do remain in FM25. It is good that you are remaining to help your team out (which is your job in the first place)... still the block of text about it still remains a bit condescending, specially the last paragraph... Now you care about the fan base... the community... because FM production is in trouble. You didn't care about when you killed FM Classic/Touch for PC and Mac, because what we were only (let me guess) 5.97365% of the fan base... Can't understand this guy... Personally don't care removing weight, but it makes me scared what else might be removed attribute wise, just because whatever reasons. For testing, not going to say much... good I guess. Overall, this blog post yet again fails to do what it is meant to be. Selling FM25, not the other way around. You just giving me reasons to skip FM25 altogether, because the removal of features (some of them quite important or even key features) is going to make wait for the real game... FM26. That is the game we want to play. Not half backed game, because SI heads stretch the team too thin to make revolution instead of evolution. The fault is just on them... You just need to focus on unity engine and the UI and leave the rest alone... Why do I even bother with all of this... Seriously... not kidding. As a final point... I find astonishing the lack of apologies this post. No sorry, no nothing. There are times, specially the Miles, poor me... has certain tone, that we fans should be the ones apologising... Like we are the ones at fault. Maybe I'm making pictures, but at this point, this game is dead on arrival for me... Unless this new Unity engine blows me out of the water. I simply don't care at this point...

  48. So they’ve released another update of things they have removed. Removing international football from the game…wow removing player weights from the game… Genuinely disappointed so far

  50. The fact that Miles promotes his lack of public showings as something worth mentioning in a Dev Blog Post for a game is everything we need to know regarding fm 25: 1. He is out of touch with reality; why should we care he is not attending some events? 2. Game is half baked at best, with it being touted as the next big thing since before of fm23. Hopeless; 3. If they think 5.3728_371-1% int management player base is reason to remove it, just wait until their obsession with women football proves to be 0.2626626362% player base, an astonishing failure of immense magnitude.
