Players now have price range, like this:

Which is stupid beyond belief, now when you go to player search screen you can see "not for sale" for some bad players, even we all know that all players in the world have their price and they are for sale.

I have no idea who thought this is logical. It can be useful since you know now immediately price range, but player should have his price, and price range for which he can be bought. Now you can't even sort players properly by price in players search screen because of that. They could do something like this, with both -

And it's usually hilariously wrong lol, especially if that 'value' comes from the agent.

In math yes, and shockingly 1+1= 2!

However, in football though, not all is logical and ratings follow how UK newspapers usually does it.

Football being logical or not is really not relevent though isn it?  As for Uk newspapers, well say no more, your statement sums up the stupidity of it.

Film critic ratings don't work like this, very little does in fact.  So why are what rags do suddenly the norm instead of what is logical or correct?  Not having a go at you (though your response was banal).  Either the rating system needs changing or use the logical correct useage of a sliding scale of 1 to 10, which would mean 5 is bang average, 2 would mean the player should not be being paid for being on the pitch and a 10 would mean utterly exctraordinary...you know...you just like most other sliding ratings work.  At this point may as well just make it 1-5 and Si can make 3 as the average.  Would make far more sense because as other's have stated, in my 20 years + playing time, I could count the number of 5 or less ratings on one hand.

Why is the ratings of a footballer any different, because it has nothing to do with football being illogical or full of chance.  Someone was either average or they were not (meaning they were below or above)...and that average is 5.  Argue that all you like, doesn't change what is I'm afraid.

  3. Exactly the same as me, only I didn't buy on principle as nothing really changes, the same bugs exist, the same stuff that annoyed me for years and years still never gets addressed. I used to buy every year (from the very first Champ Man title), then every other year from around '14...then not since '18.   I asked a lot of questions and decided to finally get the new one (23) after such a long absence.  Other than the 'headline features' (lol)...no, nothing has really changed imo...sure match engine is slightly better but hell, they've had what...20 years to actually perfect it by now...and they haven't....

I installed '23 to be greeted by an ad-useage-permission screen which immediately almost made me refund it.  All the same things I referred to in my first sentence...still exist...more pointless fluff added (manager timeline), stuff added that isn't properly implemented, which is uneccessary, uneeded, not wanted nor asked for and all the same issues still apply and they have actually removed some useful things of the past (squad planner).  I'm investing time into it purely to get my money's worth, in the hope by the time the final update comes around (a joke in itself, again, 20 years to perfect the match engine) in March it might actually be a significant improvement, even if I did get it well under retail price.  Personally, stick with '18 which imo, was a pretty solid game and has hundreds upon hundreds of mods available for it already completed.  Typical FM fashion, you pay to beta test the game for them and then have to wait 4 months for them to actually release a proper finished title (though one can/could argue that is par for the course in the entire industry these days, hell, they will probably Kick Start FM25).

tldr:  Am I enjoying the game? As much as most other FM's of the past.  Would I recommend full price...hell no.  If you have a complete '18, '20, '22 with a great save going and all the working mods, edits etc you want....then may as well save your money.  Until they fix all the stuff that's needed fixing for the last 10+ years (and that's not even going into the whole graphics issue), I won't be buying it again anytime soon.

If I click "C'mon you´re *****" in the 75th minute, my team scores twice and take the lead. Then in the 87th minute, the shout is finally heard according to the game, and my players get pissed at me for obvious reason.

Why does the shout sometimes come in the same minute I click it, and sometimes 20 minutes later, regardless if there are breaks in the game?

This...unless you're watching the entire game or on extended highlights, shouts are next to pointless and useless as they never take effect when you actually need/want them to.

is it possible for them to be promoted in fm23 as in fm22 they were banned from entering the top division

Yes.  Only just started my own save with them (in Liga II), however, 12 years in they have been promoted (and unfortunately relegated) twice in this current save so going to assume they can.

Ive still only got my 2 saves going with Ajax and Sunderland but Im looking for another save to get stuck into in a different league entirely compared to where I normally manage, my first thoughts was Dinamo Zagreb as im looking for a famous club who regularly do well in their respective league but struggle to make an impact in Europe. Maybe even the likes of Red Star or Steaua.

Lot of fun (and damned hard work) getting CSA Steaua București back to where they should be.  Doing it myself, think you'll enjoy it and for different, Liga II in Romania is not exactly 'high profile' haha.

Or the clubs themselves? Mate they are their chants so it does have something to do with the clubs. I think your misinterpreting what I’m trying to say.

You'll never walk Alone is neither owned by the EPL or Liverpool. Same with Saint's song.  Sure it may be 'their chant'...but it's a football chant.  Same with On the Ball City.  It's a chant, it's not copyrighted by the EPL or the club (other copy holders may be different), therefore it is fine.  What on earth would happen do you think if they got relegated, they couldn't use it anymore because the EPL and Sky have a hissy over it?  Do you think the Anfield crowd pay Richard Rogers (the original artist) or Gerry Marsden royalties after every game?  Be serious...so it has nothing to do with

The chants they sing etc problem would be licensing them as they don’t have the rights for the EPL YET

Not misinterpreting you at all, I'm correcting you.  The EPL own the rights to nothing when it comes to football songs.

Well they clearly won’t be able to use you’ll never walk alone or the saints go marching In like the opening post suggest

Neither of which have anything to do with the EPL, EPL sponsors or the clubs themselves.

Yeah I think atmospheres would be good addition. Like a derby game you hear the passion from the fans and supporters

The chants they sing etc problem would be licensing them as they don’t have the rights for the EPL YET. (I believe it’s coming on year tho)

tbh I don’t play with sounds on anymore as a huge lover of fm and for playing the game back when it was championship manager I would like this in game. And some of the opening posters features as well.

What has the EPL got to do with non copyrighted football chants?

There are videos that explain how to install them - Zealand did a few, and there are ones like this

Personally, I found it too fiddly, plus the faces look too similar, so I prefer to choose my own (I match the faces I choose to ethnicity, hair colour/style and position, not that anyone would know) and add the UID myself.

I agree and actually do both myself.  I have thousands of faces from regen packs going back 10 years heh.  All the faves I have separated.  I use FMNEWGAN so all regens have a realistic face.  Any particular player I've grown close to, fond of, like for whatever reason etc etc, I'll change on an individual basis to something more of my liking.

A lot of the time I look for teamwork, work rate, natural fitness and stamina as well as personality type in all my players.

100% this.  Even at top level, these are still the most important stats and hide and cover up a multitude of 'bad' stats that the player should have.

What would people really have, really?  20 in tacking, 20 in heading but 5 in work rate and 2 teamwork and a 10 in stamina?  Swap those stats, I know which player I'd pick every day of the week because the stats ultimately are just ranges and don't actually mean all that much in the great scheme of things within the mad world of FM code.

Hi All, as someone who mainly plays international football games in FM i think its in great need of a revamp. Whilst i understand that it will never be a priority, i have come up with a number of what i believe are relatively small changes to make that would have a great impact. The higher ones are harder to implement but the lower ones should be easy and would arguably have a greater impact.

It should be a priority.  It should have been a priority for FM23 (was the perfect time)...it should have been a priority 10 years plus ago...bottom line is SI just don't give a flying.

    It is broken beyond broken.

Can't scout properly, no proper shortlists, can't do training (even if just tactics/fitness), can't obtain coaching badges, coded injuries every...single...squad....selection, either the day before, same day or the day after, guaranteed, no exceptions.  If reduce processing breaks is ticked the game will completely skip messages telling you about injuries (see above) and you, as an international manager, 'choose' not to call anyone else up instead (what a damn joke), this should be a must respond game stop mesage IMO. Back to the injuries (lol), Casemiro has been injured (I didn't bother calling anyone up to replace him..cos...lol), press conference, you decided not to call up Casemiro despite his good form, can you tell us why? Hmm I dunno Pedro...maybe because he's ****ing INJURED perhaps?!?!?!?

Jim Smith's x team will face x or x in the quarter finals of the WC.  Excellent, I'll watch the game, see how they play, tactical syle, players to watch out for etc etc.  Yet, for some reason (I was spotted in the stands despite me wearing my hat, sunglasses and trenchcoat), fans and media are still wondering why I was there??  Like...really?  Same with the World Cup final...why was I there?  So, next time I choose not to go (so I don't confuse fans and media) and ask my scout to scout the match for me instead....only, he doesn't scout the match (because, why would he, we're only playing the winner of said game), instead he turns up, realises there are no players from our country and returns to me saying, I didn't find anyone....

The most ignorantly blatantly lazy ass attempt at something I've seen in this industry.

SI, this might have passed your attention, but the World Cup is the godamn PINNICLE of football.  Fix this sorry ass broken part of the game which is undoubtedly, one of the the...single...most...important parts of football.

Is there any way to make it so the game just assigns some of these newgen faces to the newgens as they appear in game, instead of having to manually assign them?

I know it's not entirely the same thing, but I remember in previous games there were hairstyle packs and stuff you could download that would do this, increased the variety a whole lot.

Closest would be FMNEWGAN...bit of a pain to first set up but then once a year after intakes are done...run the app again and all 'new' newgens are updated.  Still works on FM23.

Do you ever get a player who's player stats & match ratings are average at best, but always seem to do pretty damn good in matches?

Have a player currently managing Brazil.  So ok..he already good, but compared to the rest of the team, stat wise and PA he probably shpouldn't even be in the 23 man squad. never mind the starting 11, however, he seems to suit my tactic perfectly....outperforms the majority of the 'better star' players regulalry.  First name on the team sheet for me despite his stats.

  15. Just fix it with the/an editor (I don't know if this is a bug or not) but MLS is seriously broken, has been for years.  You'll have to use the/an editor long term regardless anyway in order to fix/sort/increase the salary caps in line to stay competitive with the rest of the world (ala Spanish Leagues, also broken in this regard).

That said however, MLS/USA salary caps are very low in real life (comparatively to other countries that have caps, never mind countries/leagues that don't) so this will always be something you'll fighting against.
