  1. Now, if a feature is indicated as "headline" I do expect major changes in that regard. While AI squad building still seems as terrible as last year, after 1 year of playing I cannot spot any differences at all. I once again outline the major issues: - AI manager do little rotations with their starting eleven, and their preferences for players are very sticky. Many first team players are left out to make 1-2 appearances as subs in the whole season. - AI managers still seem to care only about CA-reputation when choosing which players to use, completely disregarding PA and player development. - Unused youngsters are still left to rust on the sides for years. Even if they do not play them, they often do not offer them for loan leaving them to rust on the sides, or in their B team forever - Even when youngsters ARE offered for loan, they encounter little to no interest from other teams The 2 issues above still lead to teams having XL first teams because they are unable to loan a good amount of the young players they have. - AI transfers logic is still terrible. I often see managers spending loads of money for players that end up NEVER playing. And by never I really mean never, like 2-3 appearences as subs per year. And the funny thing is, after a whole season of never playing, they do not sell them, so those players end up basically never playing for 3-4 years in a row, something which I have barely ever seen happening IRL. Now, this is not ok SI. Please fix the AI. You said there would have been major improvements. So far, I have seen none.
  2. @Zachary Whyteplease can you let us know something? since we provided a ton of examples and the issues are still not fixed. What can we expect? Further updates for FM 23 or things will remain the same until next year? I think we at least deserve to know something
  3. I did, I bring you an example from my most recent save. Guardiola moving to milan in 2025 for a 3 mln/year contract, against the 20 mln contract he had just 3 years prior at City
  4. I come back also for this issue with my findings after the update. On this side, there have been huge improvements honestly, but for some reason the machanic is still broken in some countries, such as Spain, where teams still refuse to loan their B team players for no actual reason when they are clearly too good to play in the B team. The two Barca players I attach were made unavailable for loan for 2 years straight. Barca B is playing in the 3rd division, while these players have a CA that ranges from 130 to 140. They should clearly: - be moved to the first team and not the B team and possibly used in the first team rotations, or - be loaned to a bigger team, ideally in some European first level league and not be left to rust in the third division, for which they are clearly too good for and get no development out of. Same thing for the real madrid Japanese guy. Not only he is probably too good for the second league, but he is also not registrable for the B team for some reason, as many of Real Madrid B players, so he is going to spend years without playing consistently. Then let's look at Reiner. At the start of the game he is on loan to Girona (La liga) but afterwards he is being set as unavailabe for loan for 2 years straight, one spent playing in the 3rd tier of spanish football, and one in the second. The guy CA in in the mid 130s, so he would be a good first team player for many La Liga's teams.
  5. I come back to report that the issue is still not resolved. I have seen many cases of 3-4-2-1/3-4-1-2 teams keep on buying wingers and inside forwards.
  6. I uploaded the savegame from the screenshots above on the ownCloud service in case SI staff needs it It's called "No loaning".
  7. I come back to post some findings after the update. The situation has improved, but not enough for it to be realistic still. Many clubs still have XL first teams or 2nd teams because they were unable loan most of their young players (nobody made any offers for them) despite being available for loan. I attach some screenshots after the summer transfer market 2023.
  8. Thank you, really hope to see this fixed next year
  9. The issue is still there, AI managers choices are still too "hierarchical" and sticky and allow for little to not flexiblity. There is too much of a clear cut distinction between first-string players and reserves. I attach the screenshot of a 161CA Julian Alvarrez who almost at the end of the season only started 3 games out of 33 in the league. Same for Rihad Mahrez as you can see. He played a grand total of 6 games in the whole league. This means that the players used in their place basically started every single game for the whole season. And in this specific database I am using I gave a 20 in the "squad rotation" attribute to every single manager to try and make it more realistic, so this can be considered as a "best case" scenario.
  10. @Zachary Whyte @Neil Brock this issue was bothering me so much that I went back a downloaded the 2022 Editor to compare. If this is not a bug I don't know what is. There were cleary a lot more options in the 2022 "club vision" panel than in the 2023 "supporters objectives" panel. The one that bothers me the most is surely "sign players under X age", since its absence makes it impossible to implement a long-lasting vision of buying younger players for a specific team. In 2023, you can only do it by editing the chairman objectives, which obviously will cancel out once a new owner arrives. But there are many others missing, such as "sign players from domestic rivals" which seems the perfect fit to be something supporters care about. I do not understand the logic behind this, it makes perfect sense for "sign players under X age" to be an objective of the supporters and part of the "culture" and not only of the board. Especially since objectives such as "sign high reputation players" or "sign players of nationality", which are to all intents and purposes similar, are still there. Also stuff which I have never seen supporters care about in real life such as "make the most of set pieces" is still there. The previous version (2022) made the database way more customisable and made it easier to have AI teams acting in a realistic way. I cannot see one reason to just reduce the scope of such an excellent feature. Can you please give us some feedback about this? I think me and many others who posted in this thread would love to have more options for what concerns supporter objectives in FM 2024. Thank you.
  11. This is my last year, and I am being serious. The worst part is that development was one of the few things that worked quite WELL before FM2022, they decided to break it intentionally just to do it! Instead of focusing on the actual problems of the game. I simply cannot understand their reasoning, I just can't.
  12. This has been a problem since FM 2010 probably. I cannot understand how difficult can it be to just fix something like this. In the last ten years we made big strides in medicine, technology, AI, but somehow it seems impossible to give decent dribbling and crossing to a fullback. Ridicolous honestly, just ridicoulous.
  13. Yeah, those results are actually quite depressing. The issue is not fixed and the game is still pretty broken. Oh jesus...
  14. I am running mine with 15 nations and 37 leagues loaded. Full details on for the major leagues like Premier league, Serie A, Bundes, Liga and Ligue 1. The situation has surely improved, but I still see some issues. The development process overall seems just to make it impossible to have 20yrs old world class players. Which, I mean, it is rare, but at times it happens. Mbappè, Pedri, Musiala ecc. Moreover, the team selection from the AI is still poor. Still based on mainly CA and reputation, and youngsters tend to have a lower reputation that older affirmed players. The loaning process did improve though, and that is good.
  15. Nevermind, I opened one myself if you want to add your findings
  16. Even after the update, the issue is still there sadly. Now AI teams seem to loan their players in a more sensical way, but I think the issue is strongly related to how player growth works in game. I still cannot find any world class players under the age of 22-23. Like none. The current player development mechanic seems unable to replicate the Mbappe, Pedri, Gavi, Musiala. The development process is just too slow even under ideal conditions. I attach the findings from my holiday save to 2027. As you can see, there is only one player 20 or younger with a CA over 150. None over 160. Most are still under 140 even though they have world class potential.
  17. Could you open a ticket in the bug tracker with those findings? I think it could be helpful
  18. I can confirm that the problem, even though slightly better, is still there for a good part.
  19. Dortmund B side, now almost every young player seem to be listed for loan, before the patch they used to make them unavailable. Good sign
  20. Thank you, can we expect some improvements also regarding team selection (AI picking youngsters more often in their starting eleven)? Because in the notes it's only mentioned regarding national teams.
  21. Yeah that's definetly part of the problem. In real life players transition from B teams to first teams without needing any loans, especially in Spain.
  22. Guys, after playing for this very short time, the situation seems to be better, at least concerning AI teams actually OFFERING their talents for loan instead of making them unavailable. AI teams now do offer their best prospects for loan and seem to encounter more interest from other teams than in the past. But I would need a little more time to be certain. Seems like a good start though. Another big part of this bug is about squad selection (i.e do teams pick youngsters in their starting eleven despite their lower reputation?). This I have not tested yet
