  1. Very keen to see where this goes. I'm deep into the data side of things. I don't have much free time, but if you need some support - I can try my best!
  2. Hi all, I keenly use the data throughout the season and use this to judge players by their underlying numbers (yes, I'm a geek).... I use this to try and find hidden gems and cheap replacement players. However, I noticed that as soon as player starts a new season (or the season ticks to the next one, in terms of game time) the players stats and data all disappears? Is there anyway to find the underlying numbers from the previous season ? For example... If I search for players to cover certain data, it only shows data from this season (which is only a matter of games old across Europe). Is there a way to see, for example, Pass completion rate from the whole of last season for certain players, rather than just the data from low number of appearances early on in this (the 2nd) season? Apologies if this is the wrong place to post.... Thanks ! CLF
  3. No worries. Glad to help. I can confirm that when calling them back in January, they did count towards the culture.
  4. This is such a wildly underrated part of the game. I've used natural strikers in CM before because of attributes. "A Game of Numbers" is exactly the best way to describe FM.
  5. Hi, Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I can't seem to set up a short throw routine in the final third. I'd like to send someone to attack the far post. (i.e. work a short throw and then have a player ready for a cross if the opportunity arises). The "Work into Box" option has no editable options of where players stand. And clicking on the button offers no options. Unlike the "Long throw". Which allows me to move players around. I've uploaded the save file for the SI team. Thanks, CLF
  6. Not sure if this is a bug or not, so happy to be advised on this. At Brighton a "Culture" is too sign players under age of 22 for the future. I've signed: Jamal Gonzaga, Emmanuel van de Blaak and Benicio Baker-Boatiey (all young, under 22, and decent potential). The only thing is, they don't register against the culture objective because I've loaned them back to their clubs as part of the deal. Do we think this is a bug that is worth registering or is just a quirk of the game ? thoughts and opinions welcome. Game file upload for the SI team. Cheers, CLF

  8. This series was run as a youtube series here : http://www.youtube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot THE FINAL SEASON As we entered the final season of the Youth Academy save on FM23, we had previously finished 3rd in the EPL, 3 points of the winners and were runners up in the Champions League. Was this to be the year or would it be another season of heartbreak ? Well.... Not all fairytales have happy endings. The league was very substandard with a 10th place finish. The Champions League was absolute heartbreak again as two late goals from Real Madrid cost us the win in the final! Which would have been crazy. The youngsters did well and continued their winning streaks. And as a personal milestone, it was the first time I ever ticked off 2,000 games in management. And finally, we did get the young player of the year award in the CL. So, I failed the challenge, but absolutely loved the save. It definitely will not be my last attempt at the challenge. It was incredibly fun ! Thanks for all the support and tips, hints and comments. Onto FM24 we go !
  9. Fiorentina is my Beta club of choice. http://www.youtube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot Lets see how it goes !
  10. If you'd like to see how this unfolds in more detail. Its a YouTube series here : http://www.youtube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 37 - A RETURN TO EUROPE'S TOP COMPETITION A Review of the 'So Close' season. First up, we hit a milestone that I don't think I've ever hit before in FM... 1900 games at one club ! We will start with the youngsters, and a phenomenal season was had by all ... The U18s were content with winning just the league cup and went and got a double... And not being happy with that, they went and got another one! And not to give all the glory to the U18s, the U21s fancy some silverware too... Now onto the senior team and why this is called the "So Close" season. And third placed finish was the best we've ever achieved .. Missing out on winning the league by 3 points. This meant we won Manager of the Season in the EPL. And from there we attacked Europe.... and boy did we get so close. We lost to Everton in extra time which was heartbreaking. And came joint runners up in the EPL and runners up in the Champions League. Absolute hearbreak. But we did get some individual awards. Carlos Victoriano - Guiseley El Tuffee & Kennedy Joseph - Guiseley Crimson Mori - Guiseley This huge step into the deep end of the Champions League made us jump in the club rankings (to 5th!!) and with that, extra pressure was bought. And the final shoutout goes to Gray who made it into the Team of The Year for the Champions League. A truly memorable season where we came so close to finishing this challenge. We go again for Season 38 or 39 (I've lost count!) WISH US LUCK !
  11. If you'd like to see this in more detail, this series is running as a YouTube series here : http://www.youtube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 36 REVIEW. BACK TO BACK EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS ! Season 36 was a great success for Guiseley, we had an amazing league run and a cracking good run in Europe! A 4th placed finish which saw us finish 14 points of top and in that coveted 4th place spot (which did get a Champions League place). And also, our youngsters hoovered up the trophies. U21s winning Div 3 and the U18s wrapping up the league too. Not only that, but we won the Europa League ! Besting Juventus in the final too ! And that bought with it some awards for numerous people.... And these successes put us into the Top 20 of reputable clubs in the world. On we go to Season 37 and we will be attacking it with all our might. It feels like we're on to something special. WISH US LUCK !
  12. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a playthrough on my YouTube channel at : http://www.youtube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot WELL WELL WELL ! SEASON 35 REVIEW ! GUISELEY ARE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS !!!! (off the 3rd European Competition). Yes folks, we won the Europa Conference League!!! Its going to really put Guiseley on the map of the footballing world. We beat such giants as Genk, PSV and Debreceni on the way to beating WSG Tirol in the final. It was all very very comfortable! We also got a number of awards for the Europa Conference League... And the success didn't end there as our youth teams had a great season too ! The league was a bit mediocre, but winning the Europa Conference League gives us a route back into the Europa League next season. Overall, a good season, and European success is very very welcomed. ON TO SEASON 36 WE GO ! WISH US LUCK !
  13. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a series on my YouTube channel : http://www.youtube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 34 REVIEW ! ANOTHER CUP AND SO CLOSE IN EUROPE ! Season 34 was another belter. We didn't do quite as well in the League, but we did secure back to back League Cups and had quite the run in the Europa League ! First up, the League.... 8th place was a little disappointing given where we had been previously. But we are in a rebuild of the first team squad. but the Europa League was where we had our ever so close moment just losing out in the final to Newcastle! And it was an amazing run to get there, including a fabulous win over Bayern Munich!! Our young superstar Phil Carney picked up a number of accolades along the way. And we won the League Cup again too !! And not only that but our youngsters had a good season, winning the U21s Div 3 title. And the U18s only just lost in the Youth League Final on penalties to Inter Milan The future is looking good and the board wanted to keep it that way ! All in all, a season to be proud of with a domestic cup, a great run in Europe where we were ever so close and some more reinvestment in the future of this club ! Onto Season 35 ! WISH US LUCK !
  14. If you'd like to follow in more detail, this is a playthrough on my YouTube channel : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 33 REVIEW OUR FIRST MAJOR CUP WIN ! Now the EFL Cup gets laughed at a lot. I laugh at it a lot, Its not a proper trophy.... Until it is. And went and won it ! A great 2-1 win over Newcastle secured us our first major piece of Silverware of the save ! To be honest, it was a good season all round. Including a demolition of Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League. The Europa League run was very good indeed, seeing us get all the way to the Semi Final's and then losing to Sevilla (who else!) on penalties. The performances at home and abroad saw our reputation grow.... which could prove troublesome in the league for upcoming seasons where we may no longer be the underdog! But our youngsters continued to show they can do well in their domestic competitions. And the board want them to keep doing well, with some youth facilities being upgraded and maintained to the highest standard. All in all, a good season. With competition on all fronts (apart from the FA Cup, we don't talk about that).... In my heart, I know we are going to run out of time to finish this challenge before FM24 comes out, We will keep going and then maybe have one blow out season and spend the vast fortunes we have amassed as a club! Onto Season 34 and hopefully some more Silverware ! Wish us Luck !
  15. The lower leagues is all about a solid tactic that creates a bucket load of chances. Vanarama South and Vanarama National are the hardest to get out of in my opinion. Good luck !
  16. If you'd like to keep up with my save in more detail, its being run a playthrough series on my YouTube channel : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot END OF SEASON 32 REVIEW Season 32 was an absolute barnstormer of a season! After ending the previous season in the Champions League places, we entered Europe's top football competition wildly underprepared and expecting some very heavy losses... more about that later. The opening gambit was to find out that we had absolutely zero chance of winning the Champions League according to the bookies. And then we were given our fixtures ..... lovely games against powerhouses of Europe such as Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Ajax, Benfica and Dinamo Zagreb... But to help us along the way, we have the best young prospect in world football.... apparently... The League saw us have another solid performance and finish a very respectable 8th place. I was more delighted that we should relative consistency throughout the season. The youth team performed well to, winning the FA Youth Cup. And financially, we were the biggest profit makers in the league (unsurprising really given that we can't buy players!) But a superb end of season run is what allowed us to finish in 8th. Just sneaking in... And with our final game of the season we cost Man United the league title on goal difference with Man City taking the crown instead! And with some funky rules and regulations the top 10 in the EPL all qualified for Europe! Arsenal won the previous year's Europa League and qualified for the Champions League and West Ham won the Champions League, allowing their entry as holders! Our story in the Champions League was a relative success for a first entry as we qualified from the League Phase to face Porto in the knockouts, but the journey ended there. Unfortunately, key player and wonderkid youngster Yago Thal decided that he was better off moving to pastures new at the end of his contract and he left to join Bayer Leverkusen and then join Porto on loan. But all in all a successful season which saw us do well in the Champions League, qualify for European football again and hold onto nearly all of our highly valuable assets. Next season we aim to focus on the league and see if we can edge closer to winning that elusive league title! On we go to Season 33 WISH US LUCK !
  17. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a playthrough on my YouTube Channel : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 31 REVIEW WHAT A SEASON ! HUGE ACHIEVEMENTS ! Well, well, the season was a huge success. Greater than anything I could have imagined. Its been absolutely bonkers! The League was an amazing success. We managed to secure European Football ! Of course, it was a massive overachievement. Getting Guiseley their highest ever finishing position in their history! And our youngster Yago Thal won Goal of The Season..... BUT THE AMAZING NEWS DOESN'T END THERE..... WE GOT CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FOOTBALL ! The U18s had an amazing season to, winning the U18s Premier League. Out youth intake was decent, although not the best, it was good enough! What a season! And the finances, obviously, are looking pretty amazing ! On we go to Season 32 ! We venture into European football to take on the powerhouses of the World's game. WISH US LUCK !
  18. If you'd like to follow in more detail, this is a playthrough on my YouTube channel. http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 29 ! THE PREMIER LEAGUE IS A SLOG Another solid season in the league and a 13th place finish. We are climbing closer and closer to the top half and the European places. But its a bit of a slog. Our youth intake was looking good again. Very excited about the Sol Campbell & Paul Scholes hybrid newgen! And some good talents coming through too... But they'll have their work cut out..... The U21s won the EFL Trophy! Which is a monumental achievement and their first piece of "senior" silverware. We are creating winners now! The U18s also won the Premier League Cup! So both youth teams are absolutely flying. Ultimately though they lost out to Spurs on penalties in the U18 Premier League Final (where North play South!) The board agreed to increase the youth category. And no surprise really. given our immense financial situation. On we go to Season 30 ! Unbelievable really. What save. I loved this series. WISH US LUCK !
  19. If you'd like to follow this in more detail, its a series on my YouTube Channel : whttp://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 28 REVIEW ANOTHER YEAR OF PREMIER LEAGUE SURVIVAL Season 28 started wonderfully well with us hitting the heights of 5th place in the Premier League - but then normality hit and we were basically 15th all season! Solid enough though and I'll take it... Avoiding relegation again was the highlight and we managed to secure our highest ever league position. Which is always good. And the Board, when seeing the finances, decided to FINALLY upgrade our youth facilities to the next level! And then they promptly sold the club to a new owner!! So at the moment, we are looking pretty good on the facilities front... And the Youth Intake came through and.... WOW. It was one of best ever with 7 elite talents! I can't wait to get these kids playing! ONTO SEASON 29 WE GO! WISH US LUCK !
  20. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a playthrough series over on : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 27 REVIEW WE SURVIVED AGAIN ! Another successful season in the Premier League means we have more money coming through the door to invest in facilities! Survival was much earlier than last year. We actually secured 16th which was very pleasing. But we were up against it... Just look at the financial differences when the other clubs spend their money! A cool 53 million of profit made in one season! You've got to love the Premier League !!! At the End of Season Review, we were declared the overachievers of the season (unsurprisingly). And to my surprise, we got two players in the NXGN Best Wonderkids in Football list !!! 2nd place !!! and 34th! During the season, we went on lovely unbeaten run which helped to secure out safety.... And the board took some of that 53 million profit and reinvested it into the Youth Facilities. And on we go to Season 28 as we head to another Premier League campaign. Apologies about he short and sweet updates, I'll get back to including more images of the season as a whole and the youth intake - just been rammed with work recently! WISH US LUCK ! ONTO SEASON 28 WE GO !
  21. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a playthrough series on my YouTube channel : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 26 REVIEW.. OUT FIRST SEASON IN THE EPL ! First off, it was a great day to confirm we got to the EPL with the release of the fixtures.... A tough start against moneybags Newcastle, Premier League holders West Ham and then Classic giants Man Utd. But the fans were keen to flock to see their team perform in the big league! And of course, we are delighted to accept the TV money for playing in the "Best League in the World".. The board were more than happy to reinvest this money back into the club throughout the season... And they also used the cash to clear the clubs debts! Now, onto the season! It was very successful, as we claimed our safety and another season of pure cash! A good run at the end of the season saw form increase and results improve... it was needed, because all season I thought we were doomed. We did pick up one Manager of The Month award too... But some big discrepancies in our club vs the rest in terms of income, wages and profit... Even though we're now big time and in the Premier League, our youngster keep getting poached by the bigger fish ! All in all a cracking season and looking forward to having another crack at the Premier League next time.... And our next batch of youngsters coming through doesn't look to bad either.... And, usurpingly, we've produced a lot of players that are in the EPL... given that we are completely Home-Grown! So onto Season 27 we go, can we survive again ? WISH US LUCK !
  22. If you'd like to follow this in more detail, its available on my YouTube channel as a playthrough series - http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 25 REVIEW WE'VE DONE IT. WE'VE ACTUALLY DONE IT!!! This season was magnificent and we've made our way to the money-filled world of the English Premier League! It was a remarkable season. Seeing us finish 2nd in the Championship thanks to a final day win over QPR. Patron of the YouTube Channel, Supreme Dave, was our top goalscorer over the season. He scored 26 goals in 37 games and was lethal in front of goal, which is impressive given his finishing attribute of 9 ! Another fantastic touch was that our previous club captain, one club man and ever present goalkeeper Scott Lloyd decided to retire at the end of the season and we were asked if we wanted to retire his shirt number in his honour. We gladly did! We managed to get one player into the team of the season, which given how much we over performed in the league, is a surprise. I thought we would have much more than one! And more surprising, it wasn't top goalscorer Supreme Dave! The press and journalists named us the biggest overachievers of the season. Which was nice. Our U18s made it a memorable season too by wrapping up their league... And we wasted no time in reinvesting that Premier League money! A fantastic season and we are sure to be up against it when we take on the money and talent-rich teams in Premier League. Here's hoping for a miracle and we survive! Bring on Season 26! WISH US LUCK!
  23. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a playthrough on my YouTube channel : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 24 REVIEW Another solid season in the Championship. The main aim every season is to try and improve on the season before. This year was another successful season in that regard. We achieved our first ever top 10 finish in The Championship. And we had some amazing support from the stand through out the season too. Are previous big sale supplied some more money to the club with one of the clauses being triggered. The board used the money wisely and invested in the club training facilities. And our youth intake, once again, was looking good. Another "Golden Generation" potentially on the way! We march on to Season 25 with the playoffs certainly in our sites. Hopefully we can attack them late on take form with us for a potential shot at the Premier League. On we go to Season 25 WISH US LUCK !
  24. If you'd like to keep up in more detail, this is a playthrough on my YouTube channel - http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 23 REVIEW Guiseley are on the march!! We are starting to get to grips with the Championship and we saw our best ever finish in the Championship! The board continued to invest in the stadium, with an expansion being agreed ! The board also invested in the youth facilities. And the Youth Intake looked amazing ! Onto Season 24 we go! WISH US LUCK !
  25. If you'd like to follow along in more detail, this is a let's play series on my YouTube channel - http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 22 REVIEW.... The season started with rumours of takeover... But it didn't really go anywhere, and to dampen the take over rumours the owner invested large sums into the facilities. But focusing on the league, it was a pretty good season, recording our highest league position finish ever. And we also said farewell to some very highly rated youngsters for some extra income. And we also said farewell to long serving Club Captain, Lewis Salt. The youth intake looked very promising. But will need to be good to break into our very successful U18s team. And the board weren't done their, as at the end of the season, they announced 2 stadium expansions. And further advancements in facilities too! All in all, a cracking season and we are moving in the right direction, with good stable finances and a stadium to match out growing fan base! Bring on Season 23! WISH US LUCK !
