  1. I did Google a bit and learned much about a proper pre season and it worked wonders. Transformed my team from a relegation candidate into an almost promotion side. Passion4fm did some great writeups
  2. @Padders I good Pre Season did a real different to my save. How are you preparing for your season?
  3. @mschafer13 the tactic pls!! I experienced the same a few times, back to back promotions are so great especially after such a dry period.
  4. Know what you‘re Talking about. I‘ve eben there more than 20 years. I‘ve found a proper preseason makes a huge difference in the Performance of the players
  5. Season 2073/74 Just finished above the line. Had troubles the whole year but managed to stay on top and avoid relegation. The team took a big shift from old stars to new prospects. Loric Kalala, James Graham and Taner Subasi left or called it a day. Others were not given a new contract, "one has to be more courageous", if the old generation does not develop anymore they need to make space for new faces. From the former team which stayed in Championship for so long only Winger Dominic Youngs and Striker Tom Moore got a new contract. The Season went scrappy but some spells of form in December, January and the last five matches secured the main target, avoiding relegation. Nothing else matters. Great update @fries crazyman @Neo_Geo & @WhiteCat33
  6. I do well with both setups in FM24. Really good work but I want to know what to look at in Defense transitions.
  7. How is the intention to defend? Press high and then what? would you share some thoughts about that please?
  8. hey guys, thanks @Novem9 for the beautiful explanation. It's what I hoped for and it helped tons in my save. We were with our backs at the wall, morale down and 11 losses in a row. It took a while to adapt but it's giving results now and we still stand a chance to survive relegation battle. If you hadn't the ideal players which attributes would miss most and which the less in the attacking key roles like F9, AP and MEZ? Or do you try your players in the roles and watch how they're doing?
  9. Hi all, had a massive break from playing as it turned out too frustrating. Stepped back in yesterday and got a 5:0 thrashing but okay I’m back for good. does anybody have these nice bingo cards for England for a download? Thanks @fries impressive work congrats! @Padders still following your road you‘ll do it you‘re my hero still
  10. Barbados right? @darren1983 kind words thank you. Now I feel much better and encouraged. Seems everybody needs to go through that time. I look at my hero @Padders
  11. Wow @XaW I bow my head I’m far from that and it all makes sense. Thank you for sharing that insight, that was really unexpected. as well as the other up-lifting comments. Thanks much! And I have 6 points now between us and the dreaded line of drop.
  12. You all play that game that easy ... why me ... why do I need to have such a hard time
  13. Christmas again, January stats pack update. The Earl is infected with the Corona Virus and spends his time in bed slouching through Championship like through mud. It's depressing at times, it's hurting and of course it's boring. The U18s keeper was only included to see some variety in the line up. He won't stand a chance. The league is so depressing, piling loss after loss. Then winning two matches and losing again. Just enough to stay alive and above the line. The team is aging, yes, he can see that clearly now. Loric Kalala, Dominic Youngs, will be heroes from the past soon. Taner Subasi is 36 now, he won't get any better or braver. "If I could only find the right tactical approach" the Earl ponders in his bed. The one that gets James Graham scoring again. But we all know about the Earl and tactics, it's not that simple. Let's have a look: The Earl has included more endurance sessions to address the dip in Work Rate. This clearly produced as was expected. Still technical drills are priority as the players lack here the most. Again with exceptions this worked well. Solomon Olaniyi took his first real dip, the defender had a real tough half-year with stupid mistakes and was consequently benched. Our left FB Kurtis Molloy and Mike Breese finally improved technically, they earned the Earls pat on their shoulder. Tyler Wright has difficulties to keep up with himself, 3 gains isn't the world but Özdemir and the fresh promoted Rob Grimshaw made up for this with 9 and 13 gains. Rob Grimshaw is a true exception the Earl usually does not promote players below 18 y/o but his speed on the wings was desperately needed. Overall 36 gains in Ricay DNA attributes, we're working on it. Training facilities are superb now, which costs us a lot. We sold Ross Beadle to pay for that. I guess the younger players should get more playing time now as the oldies are declining. Let's have a look at the U18s: Again due to bad intakes there is not much to see. Some players had severely injuries which results in the bravery losses. Josh Finnigan stands out a bit with 7 gains but he won't make it I am sure. It's a too long way to climb. But he has the best personalty of the crop, well I guess we'll see. One can see that all youngsters gained physically which could be due to age relevant aspects or training. The Earl clearly has to shift the focus to help the players develop technically more. Maybe there should be a stronger focus. Overall 23 ganis in DNA relevant attributes is not that bad (only the youngsters are).
  14. @crusadertsar it’s impressive a true party but please can you tell me how do you create tactics like this? Of course I‘ve read it all, it’s all on the pages before. But I am so bad at this …
  15. @darren1983 good work mate keep it up. see you soon in league one
  16. This years going to be a real challenge, pre-season has been disastrous.
  17. Great work @Padders of course @MichaelNevo congratulations for the title
  18. Christmas again, this time in July 2072. As everybody here seems to have a soft spot for statistics, I'll add to that with mine. I don't know if it's worth the work but it's fun for my save. We are going nowhere and try to avoid relegation year by year. It helps me keep the motivation up and develop players. We even got the confirmation for a training facilities upgrade (completed in Nov) which will help a lot. Next should be superb. Now let's have a look at the development: Overall development is 40 attribute points (!) Now that is encouraging and confirms that the Earl still got it after all those years. Of course the stand out player again is Tyler Wright with a plus of 12 points. Another player to watch is our Icelandic FB Kristinn Runarsson who has broken the 180 points barrier. Both players did not play much last season which is maybe crucial for player development. Kristinn started 18 matches and Tyler 12. Other players like Kenny Keen and Lyndon Palmer who came in as promising youngsters did not develop as well, despite having good personalities. They needed to play a lot of matches. Lyndon Palmer is a bit of a worry, maybe he will move on. Sadly the Earl passed a big offer last December. Again the Development shows that technical aspects of the game are well addressed in training. The only worries lie in the area of mental development especially work rate needs to be addressed in future training sessions. Also some of the players did not developed as much as we hoped and still lack in technicals aspects of the game. Victor Gomes, Tristan Lynch, Shaquille Williams and Stephen McCarthy won't have a future here and will move on. What's great to see is, that even older players can gain that additional point in technical areas like 30 y/o Dominic Youngs. The Earl also took a close look at the consistency of his players. Here he noticed again Dominic Youngs who developed into a consistent performer and Ade Izzet to also took a step into a fairly consistent performer. There were also some minor changes in personalities. Looking at the youngsters there is not much hope to see. They're a bad crop and that won't change much in training. The only player showing some major improvement is Rob Grimshaw, the rest needed to go on and follow their careers somewhere else. But even Grimshaw needs to do a big step if making it here at Ricay.
  19. Welcome to England welcome to the gravel pit. I‘m sure you‘ll do it proper.
  20. Yes I type it down. I actually like because I can see the results from my efforts while typing. It’s a bit like Christmas, you‘ll never now what you‘ll get.
