Help! I’m managing Nice in the “save from relegation” challenge. I need a point from PSG, but I can’t find a way to do it. I’ve tried pretty much every strategy. Thoughts? Anyone here manager to neutralize PSG in the 19/20 edition?

FM 20 or FM 19? I've been absolutely slaughtering 20 with a tactic I've made with Lyon, I think my last match against PSG was 3-1

  2. or additionally/alternatively have a function where you can drag and drop players into separate groups with different rest/intensity parameters very helpful to keep groups of younger players etc on high intensity if theyre not getting as many games

  3. First and foremost, im sure older versions used to have it, but a button on the tactics/team selection screen (next to selection advice maybe?) just a clear all button to clear squad selection so you dont have to go through the drop-down menu to do so, secondly, you can send a player on holiday for "X" amount of time, what about putting them on half intensity etc for 1 day, 3 days, 2 weeks etc?? i find when my players stagnate its sometimes helpful to drop the intensity during fixture congested periods but if you do it with a few and forget you look a month later theyve lost attribute points (i know its lazy but its something a real manager would be able to advise his players if he saw they were getting jaded...)

Yes I do believe that this is another factor. I tend to employ determined and professional staff and I have noticed this too.

sorry to keep spamming you, but ive just noticed a couple doing it again, this is only an assumption at present, but its two players that are very inconsistent (and me being the strict disciplinarian) ive been chastising them to buggery, i wonder if thats something else, im gonna try and (begrudgingly) gee them up a bit and be more supportive, much as it pains me, if theyre getting tens/hundreds of thousands of pounds a week they should be producing the goods... primadonnas, come on site scaffolding for 600£ a week and youll realise how good youve got it you little tarts :herman:

Even if it means losing a few games and that particular player playing badly, it might be worth it in the long run. The player can even be fined for poor performances in the u23s and u18s so keep an eye on how they perform in those games when you get the reports from your staff.

I'm currently running a save with Lyon, I think I may have found another thing that will help MASSIVELY, I hired a load of coaches looking only at what stars in the coaching rating they'd give me and not at mental attributes, didn't think anything of it, high stars = good attribute boosts in training and while that may be true for technical attributes, I noticed many of my younger players determination started flagging, so I replaced all the ones with determination <15 and lo-and-behold, the dropping of determination seems to have stopped

The issue I'm having is raising a youngsters determination. I add them to a mentoring group full of players with high determination, but the youngsters determination is still lucky to go up one or two stats. I had a very promising right back coming through who only had a start of 8 for determination. His determination has risen to 9 over the 3 seasons he's been with me, I've loaned him out but now he's got injured and now at 18, he hasn't improved anywhere near as much as I wanted him to because of his low determination and poor attitude to training. If I criticise his training, he says I unfairly single him out and then his morale drops. There doesn't appear anything you can do. Unless your youngsters have good determination, you have no hope of developing them into good players.

The biggest factor is overall squad determination, if you have a bunch of good determination seniors it helps massively, also on the team information screen you can see squad personality I think and that is the main factor, I don't even bother with mentoring anymore does furk all good in my eyes

Only trouble with the pair of them is that they both have varying potentials, on that particular Wolves save, Neto and Vinagre were exceptional whereas Gibbs-White was sold because he was already close to his potential at the beginning of the game.

Yeah I did a second save with wolves and neto wasn't nearly as good attributes wise, tbh I could never get good performance out of him anyway, tried him AML role as winger attack, 6.3-6.7 every game the odd fantastic one and also tried him AMR roles as both IF and IW and still the same, traore on the other hand best AMR I've ever managed, just his attributes look dog sheet, not that it matters by his performances like but still

I guess Havertz was a bad example as I have also seen some success with him.

    Maybe Justin Kluivert?

ive learned the hard way how much off a difference the roles you select affect performances, i was selecting roles bespoke every match and getting inconsistent results and individual performances, since i set the roles and instructions and not touched them njust pick your players in those positions/roles they eventually become consistent

  9. Wolves are unreal, Neto is a diamond but very inconsistent hoping he come good, he asked for a contract to match Gibbs white (who's currently class as a wk and smashing it every game) I've told him to book his ideas up and prove images wroth it but 6.5-6.8 isn't good enough for me

  10. Surely his attributes require a bump? His stats look like a decent vanarama player, thing is (don't know how many of you guys have done a successful season or two with wolves) I finished 2nd won the Europa and carabao, traore had an average rating of about 7.89 over the whole season and contributed 16 goals and 13 assists and so far in the second season has 4 goals and 6 assists in 5! His only stats about about 6 are acceleration, pace, agility, flair and dribbling which certainly does not belie his match performances, his stats would suggest just a right fast idiot that can dribble and dart around athletically

  11. In my 1860 Munich game I got offered interviews at PSG, Sevilla, Lyon, Porto, werder Bremen and bilbao attended the PSG one just for cheese factor and they gave it to Diego simeone citing my lack of experience in managing teams of that stature, I wouldn't have taken it anyway after bringimg them from bundesliga 3 to 2nd in the main bundesliga 2 seasons on the trot after 6 years but still..

  12. Some cheaper ones (4231 wide high pressing counter tactic)

    Bajic (not necessarily a wonderkid)

    Sergiño dest

    Ruben Dias

    Rick van drongelen

    Arthur Zagre

    Sergio Gomez

    Ronaldo camara

    Francisco conceicao

     Erkan eyibil

    Adam hlozek (incredible player)

    Fabio Silva

Honourable mentions (older or more expensive)

    Owen wijndal

    Ryan gravenberch

    Lovro majer

Bear in mind that the pressing (especially when extremely urgent) and prevent short gk dist won't work as wel in a 4-1-4-1 (as the game calls it) 4-1-2-3 as it does in a 4-2-3-1 because you'll have less players up front to pull it off.

Well, I'd like to thank you for the advice, my wingers are certainly playing well now, unbelievable the difference it's made, i think modifying the training and adding my own schedules has helped a lot as well
