Wouldn't use overlap because the RMD needs space to attack and score, he shouldn't be holding up the ball and wait for others to close down his space.

Try a full back on the same side that allows him space (I've been recommended a WBsu but have mixed successes, perhaps also due to my other roles and TIs), and wide men on the opposite flank stretching the defence that provide him with crosses.

I recently played a match vs Liverpool where my RMD did very well. RMD + WBsu on the right, FBa + IFs on the left and a CSsu in the center (no AMC though). Standard LOE, regroup and pass into space to exploit the RMD. So this is a bit direct which I could do against Liverpool but against teams sitting deep it's more difficult.

My FBa has 'Hit early crosses' as player trait and he's connecting to that AMR position very easily lately, be it as a RMD or a Winger.

It's a joke this game, tried that and reus got a 6.9 which is ok to be fair but I still conceded 2 goals and lost against 10 men, any advice on decent team instructions? I've got decent players they just play absolutely garbage all the time and it's winding me up.

Signed him for Man Utd and after a couple of loans and a lengthy injury with a broken spine (ouch!) he's now (season 2023/24) doing great as a Mezzala in my midfield. He ghosts past people for fun - i know it's ridiculous to say just from looking at the match engine, be he reminds me of Gazza!

What is it with broken backs on this game, I had 3 in a season! I wonder if the team bonding exercises involve Motocross stunt riding, either that or my post match loss team talks involved some WWF style powerbomb action instead of an official warning for poor performance 🤔

  3. I signed him for free at the beginning of the season his contract ran out at Birmingham (I'm 1860 munchen!) He wanted 47.5k a week but what I saved in fees is worth the gamble, yet to see how he performs but he's over 7 rating in 3 games and was about 8 rating+ in friendlies, I was gobsmacked to get him tbh man u and a few others were interested, he wanted a release clause but it was for 68m which is more than my club is worth so it was a no brainer

general rule of thumb: dun panic if u start seeing arrows pointing down. check all the factors that may be involved in training if everything is good more often than not it will correct itself. player attributes will shift around from time to time. if u have the in game editor u can check the CA and PA. regarding to morale affecting training, it makes sense when u think about it. if a player is very happy, he is more likely to train and play better hence good performance.

training facilities will affect the rate of progression which is partly tied to training in a way but not correlated to what u are seeing here so no worries on that.

saying hes training well yet this is happening, IMO the game is "broked" he is playing really well

Wonder if that's why arezo went about 15 games without a goal and getting average 6.4, I didn't criticise him any more harshly than anyone else gets, I also praise very generously, little primadonna tart 🤔

it might be just redistribution of attributes. observe for a longer time and see if any changes and pay attention to the training ratings. match form and morale will also affect training.

I wasnt aware morale affected it, seems like a plague at the minute I thought it'd be better having upgraded training facilities

  7. Can someone shed any light on whats happening here? I've got good coaches, intensity isn't too high, all their individual regimes are selected as their fully green positions, why is this happening all the time? never used to happen on older versions. Ass man leads team training, I'm about 6 games into the season so can't be from being overworked?

  8. Why is there no individual training regimes for tackling? Surely to improve defenders we at least need the option...

Secondly the ability to at least analyse finance income in detail, managing a much lower division side for the first time with a small wage budget and transfer money, I'd like to be able to make suggestions on increasing revenue which might include

    Merchandise prices

    Ticket prices

    Membership costs

Be able to analyse attendances and suggest whether to expand the stadium and by how much based on the data and income

Also being able to have a more in depth interaction with stadium expansion or rebuilding and such

  9. Yeah I agree, very annoying, I started with 1860 Munich and somehow convinced the board to sign erkan eyibil for 2.5m took him up to bundesliga 2 and his stats went up tremendously, got about 8 goals and 12 assists and an average rating of about 7.3 all season, he wouldn't renew his contract at 1 year because he wanted more wages than I could offer so with 10 months left on his contract I begrudgingly sold him for 2.6, his "value" at the time Hertha Berlin even offered 2.6 and asked me to pay his entire wages!! If I had wanted to buy him (the vultures started looming as soon as he rejected the contract) if I'd wanted to buy him they'd have demanded £10m i guarantee it, I think "it's plan" was to just take my star player for free when his contract ran out or force me to sell him for nothing now, off topic maybe a feature to ask your player where is his loyalty would be a good addition...

  10. Bit late to the party but I started one with these going very well, found 41212 diamond narrow to be a good formation they lacked good wingers, managed a coup in persuading the board to sign erkan eyibil for 2.5m and just in my 3rd season close to the top of bundesliga and have had to sell the little ***** as he would resign a contract so had to let him go to Leverkusen for 2.6 but found some great newgen talent to replace him and pinched matias arezo for 1m compensation who's scored 11 in 13 in the league, all in all thoroughly enjoying the game, I asked the board to build a new stadium and they agreed but it will only be 22k capacity, I wonder if I had waited a few years till the bundesliga I'd have gotten a bigger one built? I'll struggle to compete financially (I know I'm being a bit optimistic) but it'll be hard to keep finances positive with any real players with such a small stadium, I could hardly see it being expanded to 50,000 capacity and I doubt they'll build another new one after building this so soon....

Over how long a period is this?

Well usually it happens then the orange downward arrows last a month I think, but as I say it can take 2 seasons to get an attribute to go up and you lose it inexplicably, I only play one game a week at 1860 munchen a few weeks I have multiple games in a week if I make I through in the cup etc and a couple of weeks they have two league games but generally one a week, surely they're not overworked? Any advice on intensity? What intensity at what % fitness if that's what the problem is? I could perhaps screen shot when I turn the desktop on tomorrow and show you my training/coaches etc to see what I'm doing wrong, I'd understand if it's a new game dynic that reflects performance in matches and my players were playing poorly and didn't deserve the stats they displayed but as I say they're all playing well and I don't play players under 96% fit unless it's a massive injury crisis

  12. Depends on your squad really if you have the players to pull off several formations then it's ok I suppose, but I'd imagine team training being specific it would be beneficial to have similar sets of team instructions, I usually just change my mentality to suit the calibre of opposition and make minor tweaks to instructions against very strong teams (either play a fast counter attacking game or a possession based defensive game using the same formation)

  13. Experiment with talks, whatever turns the most green is the best, if I'm more than 2 goals up I praise them at half time, 1 goal up I say don't get complacent, anything less tell them I'm not happy (unless it's against a strong team or away) sometimes it gives you the "Jekyll and Hyde" option or "I don't know what happened in the second half" at the end and generally if it offers you that then it's warranted to say that, if I'm playing at home and am clear favourite I aggressively lambast them if I'm not more than 2 goals up at half time or skip the talk at the end.

    I take exception to that.

We worked hard and closely with the community to produce this, before the game has released. We also put out a brief guide to accompany the Beta.

With the vast majority of copies of FM now purchased and played digitally, and people taking to the internet for their information rather than a manual, I believe this is a great way for us to both connect with and help inform the amazing community FM has around it.

With the introduction of the in-game inductions this year we have taken a step towards better informing new/returning Users from within the gameworld itself, if you have suggestions on how we can continue to improve this please do let us know in the appropriate place and we'll look into it.

Striking a balance between providing you guys with all the information you need but specifically not telling you how to "win" is something I am passionate about.

Tell me, I always set up my coaches before anything, if I'm a well known club I settle for nothing less than 4* coaches all on light workload, all individual schemes are whatever is their natural (fully green) positional training, individual focus on whatever is lacking in technical or physical relevant to the position or weakness the player has and generally double intensity unless they're playing a lot of games, I started with 1860 munchen recently, managed between 3.5-4* for all coaches, individual as above method yet I'm getting players stats declining alarmingly, even when they're playing well on the pitch and I only have one match a week, could leaving it on double intensity for just a moment too long cause it to decide you get orange downward arrows on about 8 different attributes and sometimes even reducing by a full point on several attributes, it's beyond ridiculous, I've read other posts saying "CA" is rebalancing etc or "attributes have increased so some must fall to compensate for other ones increasing" but this is happening to young players in good for with good coaches in good condition, there is currently about 6 on my squad this is happening to, none of which have had any stats go up for them to have to rebalance, my team has good training facilities for the standard of league and I leave team training to the assistant manager, which is relevant to my tactics and generally 2 sessions a day... What is going on? It's feeling pointless to even play this latest version when you can't develop players without random destruction of their stats for seemingly no reason... Rant over, am I missing something or what?

Afaik that can happen for a number of reasons. If he's reached his max PA, his stats may redistribute a little depending on how your training is set up. He may also just have a few bad weeks of training. But I'd say it's highly unlikely that none of your players are improving statwise. All I can say is that mine are, and I'm not doing anything special.

No they definitely are it's just annoying that with some players you work hard to increase their attributes only to have them decline for no reason, most of them are increasingly incredibly hence the reason I know it's not my training schedule or coaching set up.. unless haaland is at almost max PA already then I can't say

FYI, that workload means your players are not at the club (probably on holiday).

I was just gonna check my Dortmund save because I'm sure it still said it after the international breaks were done, but unfortunately my save seems to have disappeared and I only have my most recent save? Can you only run one save at a time or something or am I missing something?

During international breaks etc? So what's the deal with stats just decreasing for no reason? I've had erling haaland playing a sensible amount of games good training good coaches and a good amount of rest and suddenly stats that take a full season to increase just go down for no reason.. I'd understand if he was 34 but he's 20/21 years old, it's happening in other saves I have too with players that are playing regularly, getting good ratings in matches and not being over played or over trained
