  1. Hey @knap great work as usual. Are there any regular looking tactics with minimal TI's and PI's and basic roles and duites, it doesn't have to be super op just solid! Or maybe something similar to the gegenpress preset but more optimised/streamlined? Thanks in advance
  2. My assistant: Oscar Abate has been showing remarkable progress in training Me to Abate: I think you're developing really well, keep up the good work Abate: (angry) I think you have me confused with someone else His happiness:
  3. The truth probably lies somewhere in the middle of all that lot
  4. That's interesting. Does your GK coach have good judging player abilities (relative to your level) or is it simply because he's the GK coach?
  5. I thought I lost the save after my laptop stopped working, but luckily it was repairable and my save was saved! Season 3 Summary - KSC Lokeren-Temse - Belgian Div 2 League performance Season 3 was a transitional one, most of the original squad was gone and our newgen army made up 75% of the squad. Because of that, we never threatened the playoffs but with pre-season odds of 33/1, we were never expected to. We comfortably finished 10th without bothering either end of the table. Cup run A disappointing cup run saw us lose in the 2nd playable round to lower-league opposition. ____________________________________________________________ Youth Intake & HOYD news We lost another HOYD, our second in 2 seasons. I wasn't concerned though, because we got 145k compensation for it. His playing style also changed from fluid counter attack to route one after I signed him so they actually did me a favour! Our new guy was decent enough for our level. We were promised another excellent intake and it was ok (I forgot to screenshot the preview). Polish forward Flak was considered best in class and I'm optimistic about his future. Most were signed, but a couple with questionable personalities were let go. __________________________________________________________________ The ongoing battle with the Belgian financial bug I need a promotion soon or this challenge could be over before it really starts. We had a takeover this season which cleared our debts but we still finished almost 250k in the red. We're probably losing around 2m a year which isn't sustainable at all. It also means I can't upgrade the facilities, get an affiliate club, or even start a coaching course. _____________________________________________________________________ Transfers and misc None in and a couple of players who weren't good enough were sold for a negligible amount. I also signed another 2-year contract.
  6. I kind of see what you mean, but he's still elite and 7 ballon d'ors are not to be sniffed at!
  7. @libbyshuss Pascal Meier sounds like one of the greatest players ever produced on this challenge. What does he look like now?
  8. Ditto on the dead laptop. I was doing great in season 4 too, got a takeover and everything
  9. 1st round onwards should net you some decent cash. An away game against a Premier League team would be excellent because I think you get a share of gate receipts.
  10. FA cup runs are your best friend in the lower leagues, they can produce a lot of funds.
  11. Season 2 We began the season as media favourites for relegation but again started amazingly as we mounted an unexpected title challenge. We lead the league from the start until a month from the end when we disappointingly threw it away. We lost automatic promotion by goal difference on the last weekend and then lost the relegation/promotion play-off to Gent after leading 2-0. A heartbreaking final few games. 65 points and no promotion is extremely harsh. That 0-4 defeat to Zulte was the beginning of the end of our promotion hopes. A penalty and a red card in the first 5 minutes allowed Zulte to leapfrog us into the 2nd automatic promotion place. Cup Much the same as last year. 3 straightforward wins against lower league opposition and then a narrow defeat to a Jupiler Pro team, this time it was Charleroi. _____________________________________________________________________________ Key players Striker Gil van Moerzeke scored 19 league goals to help us to 3rd ___________________________________________________________ Youth Intake and hoyd Our hoyd was poached by the aforementioned Zulte, (who are fast becoming my mortal enemies) for £150k, as we were so broke, I didn't put up any fight to keep him and replaced him with someone just as good...or so I thought. Ly started life as a fluid counter attacking hoyd, but as soon as I signed him he changed to a park the bus tactical style which is very annoying. I don't have the funds to replace him either so we're stuck for 3 intakes, hopefully, it doesn't affect us too much. The Intake was promised to be excellent and with 5 elite talents coming through, it looks promising. Forward Oscar Abate was deemed to be best in class. ________________________________________________________________________ Finances, transfers and misc Our perilous financial position eased somewhat this season as we're making more money than we did in division 3. We still made a huge loss though, despite the chairman investing 1.2m. Any potential upgrades will be a few seasons away, unfortunately, so we can't get too comfortable in div 2. No transfers in and a promising youngster left for not much money. I did manage to sweet-talk my way into a coaching course! I also won my 2nd consecutive Manager of the year award and was offered the head job at giants Standard, so personally things are going great. _____________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________
  12. This guy has just come through my intake and the minimum I can offer him is 1.6k a week, which is more than my highest earner. All the other candidate's wages start at 400 a week, any idea about what's going on with this specific player? I'm in Belgium. Any help or advice would be appreciated
  13. Season 1 pre-season prediction: 2nd We started the league season in incredible fashion, winning our first 14 games. I don't think I've ever done that! We then did just enough to keep our noses in front and take home the title. Cup Round of 64 3 straightforward wins against smaller sides saw us drawn at home to current holders Royal Antwerp in the round of 64. We put up a brave performance eventually losing 1-2 to a late goal. Key players and tactics Veteran striker Simon Vermeiren bundled in 21 league goals to help us over the line. I like the description of the vertical tika-taka preset so that's how I will shape the team going forward. I took off a few instructions that I didn't like, underlapping and slow tempo, changed a few roles around and it worked perfectly. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Youth Intake An excellent intake was promised and I'm quietly optimistic about this year's group. 6'7" striker Langohr stands out for me as the most promising. 2nd div team Virton tried to sign our HOYD (which can only be a good sign) but he decided to stay with us, he looks good for the level so I'm happy we're keeping him. __________________________________________________________________ Finances, transfers and misc Possibly a game-breaking bug in Belgium but I'm gonna persevere and hope a takeover is imminent or the chairman continues to inject money, either way, upgrades will probably be unlikely for a few seasons. Not even a mid-season cash injection from the chairman put us in the black and we're currently losing more than 200k p/m. Our facilities were downgraded, but are still listed as good, so I'm not too worried yet. No transfers in, obviously, and a few outs. I was also offered a new 2-year contract 6 months into the job, which is another first for me doing this challenge! Summary
  14. Does anyone know how I can stop my U18's representing my U21s and vice versa? My coaches are playing my youth players in both matches 1 day apart hampering their progress and injuring them.
  15. I've missed this challenge and am getting itchy feet to start again. I'm trying Belgium despite the financial bug, if I can get to the top division quickly enough, I'm hoping I can power through the bug. Maybe I'll even luck out and get a takeover along the way. KSC Lokeren-Temse has great facilities for at least the first 2 divisions, so even without upgrades I should get decent enough youth intakes to make me competitive. The manager and all the boring stuff... I've already completed S1 so hopefully I'll see this through until I get fired or FM24 comes out!
  16. Zealand just dropped new development guides if anyone's interested video downloadable guide
  17. I simmed forward another 5 weeks, and none of the vacancies have been filled yet after receiving the message that they had. I'm not complaining as I can just take over anyone with a new manager, it was more of an FYI Great work btw, the database is fantastic.
  18. Hi, I started unemployed and simmed forward 3 months to take over a team who was managerless and struggling. There were 120 altogether but 118 come back with the message "The________board have informed you that they will not be considering your application to fill the vacant manager's role as the interview process is over", but these jobs remain vacant, even weeks later?
  19. Hi everyone, I have some time off work at last and I'm determined to give this another go. I've tried numerous times already this version but can't seem to get a save to stick so I've barely posted. I've always fancied giving Denmark a go as I have friends there, nobody has completed it yet and I believe it'll be possible. Does anyone know of any issues in Denmark since the update? I remember reading there may have been a few when the game first came out. Thanks in advance.
  20. After a few failed attempts and work getting in the way of good fm time, I'm back again to give Austria another go. I noticed a few people starting Austrian saves so I thought I'd get involved. I reloaded a few times hoping to get a team from Vienna to test the theory that populous cities produce more good players and after a few reloads, Wiener Sportklub popped up. Legal stuff I'll be back soon with a season 1 update. I'm half way through so hoping this one sticks.
  21. @DazRTaylorHow did you get Macclesfield to come up? I've simmed 4 years into the future and reloaded several times but can't seem to get any different/interesting teams? I've been trying to get Hashtag United for hours!
  22. Question: A team I'd like to give this a go with, are owned by a club in the above division. We're not affiliates or a B team, they just own us. Does anyone know if this will cause any problems down the line before I get too invested? Thanks in advance. x
  23. Maybe you could pick a team who always gets promoted (FC United, South Shields, Truro) and just edit all their details in the pre game editor, then sim until they're available? Not sure if allowed?
