  1. Had a hard time at first understanding the feedback on fullbacks/wingbacks getting low ratings, crosses constantly getting blocked and not taking people on enough as my fullbacks/wingbacks at Atalanta were awesome, averaging between 7-7.20 a season. Now at Leipzig (same save) they are all of a sudden useless and getting 6.2-6.5's only. I play same formation and basically the same instructions. Weird.

  2. Hoping someone in here can help me;

I have an 18-month old laptop (Dell Inspiron 7380) with i78565U CPU @1.8Ghz. 8GB memory and 256 SSD storage.

Both FM20 and FM21 drives the fan like crazy past 6-8 months, before that it was better (only occasionally).

You think I might have a faulty hard drive? Or my specs too low to handle the game? Something else?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello everyone. Happy new year.

I have one question regarding shooting. How many shots are you guys seeing on average per game? I'm currently seeing in total around 15 shots per match. I'll just go through my last 10 games (bear in mind this is both teams)

    18, 5, 29, 14, 18, 13, 16, 16, 20, 7

It might just be me but bar the 29 one this seems very low. Anyone else feel the same in their games?

that's pretty comparable to a good team in real life, those are good numbers. You can also compare it to the other teams in the league in the weekly/monthly xG map for defence and attack.

Also on FM can the squad personality change a players so they eventually won't dislike big games ?

Yes I've seen it go away after a season or two once (only time I noticed, might have happened before). Same with Very High or High injury risk, can go away after some time.

But I'm not sure how "Doesn't enjoy big matches" and "Enjoys big matches" are coded in the game in terms of weight. Very often people you don't think will play well, plays well, and vice versa. The more I play this game (3000hrs FM20 & FM21) the less I care about this issue.

Honestly, everythings just the same since the update. Wingers tucked into the box, not taking people on, ping pong passing outside the box, wide balls to the edges and crosses blocked into the box and when they do get in there 9/10 shots blocked. Players shooting in weird animation ways which wasn't the case before the last update. No cutting through balls or slow patient build up outside the box. Just frantic ping pong resulting in blocked shots. No strikers taking people in just being stationary, no movement for crosses, ball always going behind or to them and shooting very oddly. Not running onto anything of whipped balls into the box. And I'm 8th! It feels like I'm watching the same game again and again. The higher the level you play at the more ridiculous it is. A non league game actually seems semi-realistic. League football and elite level? Nah

Please take me back to the previous ME

Weird but I have the opposite experience - I see through balls all the time, whipped early crosses to far post are rare but do happen, patient build up outside opposition's box is very common for me and my wingers and fullbacks take people on every now and again.

  6. I would agree with the post above that work on getting the morale up via chats and include more extra-curricular training to improve team cohesion.

Another thing is to schedule as many friendlies as you can against crap opposition and get scoring again.

Finally, seeing as you're chasing promotion with 10 games to go - I would balls to the wall it and go gung-ho attack! Nothing to lose.

  7. Been thinking a bit more about what may cause the finances of clubs in leagues 6-15 (ish) to skyrocket like they do. Just had a look and compared Celtic's real salaries now compared to my save in 2027 and salaries have more than doubled - mostly for squad players. Players that earn 1m euro IRL earn 2-2,5m euro in my save instead. I don't know the accuracy of sponsorship income or prize money for Scottish league, but assume they are close to real figures. Instead, it's the transfer fees that has gone absolutely bananas. They sold players for 255m euros one year in my save, ludicrous! Their top sales are similar to real life (25-30m), instead it's the squad players they are selling for about 3-4x as much as in real life. Most sales are to England. So removing the cash balance at start, at least in the EPL, is probably a good move. What kind of results are you seeing Dave?

  8. Summary: Atalanta's club records doesn't match the facts

Description of Issue: Last season I got 100 points with Atalanta and scored 98 goals, yet Atalanta's records say 97 pts and 94 goals. It doesn't count the last game of the season which I won 4-1. Interestingly, the league's record recognises the correct numbers but not at club level.

Steps to Reproduce: Go check Atalanta's club record for season 2026/27 and compare with league table for that year.

that my efforts to make a realistic tactic is useless

Seen lots of people in here saying that it is much easier to see your tactics coming to life in FM21 and I would agree with that. Because the match engine is so much better and varied compared to FM20, the differences in tactics that can be effectively employed increases the realism factor. Gegenpress is still a bit overpowered, but conditioning seems to have been improved so that pressing players get tired and fatigued quicker if you use such tactics. Still not 100% though.

What is your most sought after feature in FM?

Mine is an All Time Highest Goalscorer of the Save list. Meaning, a list where you can see, since the day you save began, who has scored the most goals in the entire database, no matter what league they play or what awards they have won. There was a feature like so in PES 6 that tallied every goal scorer in Master League since the start of your career and throughout the end of it. It made my career so much more exciting, to keep chasing that beat the record. Why can’t there be this in FM? I know, I know, legal reasons. But please let us mod a list in there, am I right? Does anyone know if this type of thing is possible at all? I know you can sort of do it by seeing the all-time goalscorers in the scouting feature if you have the view all players enabled but it's not the same as it only tallies non-retired players but in a given long save, there are so many players that retire so it's not really keeping the data of every player throughout your save, just the active ones.

+ a Hall of Fame for players (most trophies and awards) would be cool - broken down by nation as with coaches.

A Director of Football mode would also be cool that opens up a whole new world of features like running the club commercially, more detailed scouting and negotiations, manager and agent meetings, tapping up players etc.

But above all,  my main wish would be that the game gets X per cent smarter year on year. It would lead to better games and decisions overall, more realism, more interactive options and so forth. It would make a huge difference. Not sure how AI development is going and whether it's possible to fit increased levels of it into the game on most PC's, but it would be awesome.

But player ratings are something that need an overhaul. The entire spectrum of 0-10.0 is barely ever seen, with all your players sitting between 6.5-6.7 unless they score or assist. It tells you nothing about the game unless a goal is scored.

That's a very good point. Not thought of before but so obvious now that you've enlightened me.
