    I know when it's out! now:D

thanks for the heads up @daveincid. Been waiting on this so I can start a new save with @majesticeternityand your mods (except languages and injuries). Really enjoying my current save though, recently got the job in Atalanta in 2024 and it's a proper challenge for ones. The Smarter AI Managers mod works better on FM21 than it did on FM20.

    Hey guys in need help

I will Start today my save! I will Start with BVB. Can I do that without Problems? Or its better to wait until the Patch came?

Patch is save game compatible but we don't know for certain when it is out and if it's any good. Last hotfix didn't cure the problem.

But as long as you don't play most of the first season before patch is out, you should be fine.

Depends who you are managing, I have had some decent recommendations from them

Well it shouldn't depend on who you're managing, if that's the case. I just think it's a rushed feature not properly anchored in the backend that doesn't work as intended right now. I only get recommended players I've shortlisted myself and a load of 2,5 stars players. The regular scouting meetings occasionally brings you a 90 rated 19-year old newgen from say, Serbia, but never seen anyone like that in the recruitment meetings. Plus the search functions doesn't work either, you ask for recommendations between 3-4,5 stars and you get none.  You ask the analysts to look for players with the highest average rating or most goals or whatever - yet analyst recommendations don't show up - only in scouting meetings.

To end on a high note however, my 20-year old wonderkid just hit a chipshot in the top corner from outside the box and ALL IS FORGIVEN!

This game was so close to brilliance during the beta, with a match engine that was incredibly fun. Now we are back to the FM20 slugfest of corners, blocked crosses  and no plays in the middle.

The beta was perhaps the best 2 weeks of FM I've ever had. What happened?

Agree on the whole but the game was too easy. Don't think I lost a match over 100 hours in the beta.

    From FM 19, I think

I had a few players away on international duty during a pre season friendly against out amateur feeder club, so promoted 2 reserves who had no first team experience to bolster the squad and give them a boost.  Team played dreadfully, winning 2-1 with a late winner and I told the team in the team talk that they needed to be better against a better team.

Come Monday- reserve number 2 who is 17 and got 15 minutes at the end banged on the door and wanted to complain about my team talk- told him to get lost and he stormed out unhappy and had lost confidence in me!  He didnt play again for me and I do wonder how often a 17 year old with 15 minutes of first team experience would even think about  confronting his manager about anything, far less this kind of issue

    Sounds like Balotelli anno 2007

Man don't get me started on this. That's bugged, as with many things in the game. Last season my Spanish left wingback finally wanted to talk to me about his homesickness. Every time up until that point he had done the whole "it means a lot that you've come to talk to me about it, I'm alright for now boss" etc, but last season he requested to move back to Spain. I obliged, he was 32 anyway and on his way down.

So obviously no Spanish clubs bid for him, but West ham did, I accepted and so did he. So much for wanting to go back to Spain.

I've never NOT seen it end up any differently. Standard.

  7. Homesickness has been nerfed a lot in recent years, used to be a common gripe. Which is good, i bet it's rare in real life.

They should also remove this signing promise of "bringing a mate" and how often players turn sour over something so silly and utterly unrealistic.

But in general I'm all for unhappiness and would like more of it in order for it to be realistic and the game more challenging. I bet IRL it's a right pain in the arse to manage 25 multi-millionaire primadonnas. I wanna see some tension between factions in the dressing room, the occasional training bust-up and people arguing over shirt numbers. Throw in some deluded fringe players as well who think they should be the star of the show. They constantly pester you and cry in the press about game time and how **** of a manager you are. Add real life agent behaviour to the mix and I think the game would be better for it.
