  1. Lower Leagues especially in England most are 1 year contracts so you can do a complete rebuild the start of any continuing season. I never build a tactic around my players I get players to play in the system i want to use. For the most part. I might have to change a role or an instruction etc. i almost always use generic roles and avoid playmakers even when on top of the world. that is just me personally. typically my tactic is more about what i have never done before. oh i never do wingerless. i never played with 2 amc's. oh i never did 3 at the back etc. here is my tactic i started this tactic in Hungarian lower leagues and i still use it in the champions league. beat man u with it. https://imgur.com/a/R4ManNF the only thing i updated as i got better was a central defender to ball playing because i want him to dribble out more. i dont have that many personal instructions i usually just have HOLD on for my players in support cause i dont like defend roles as it usually goes against dribbling more. i do have shoot less on everyone besides my 2 strikers. i do however play with opposition instructions for every match it dont change. ii set it up based on position and just enable it before the match. example https://imgur.com/a/GDeDSON if i was in lower league england i would think about going with a diamond, a 4-4-2 diamond narrow. it is always hard to find wingers and wingbacks in england lower leagues. so i tend to prefer the diamond. and just retrain a bunch of midfielders to play DM and AMC.
  2. i leave everyone on emergency backup since fm21 i havent had any issues
  3. my reserve team isnt in a league and its amazing. i drop all my under 18s there since i dont want them playing games. and max out their training and double intensity. it really works. they gain nothing from matches. i can then schedule friendlies for my under 18s to and make any of my squad members play their to gain conditioning. i keep my main squad say under 30 players. once the youth players hit 19 it is time to loan them out to a good league training facilities dont really matter. only the competition of the league. so reserve teams add to the immersion but they are totally not needed. under 18s gain attributes all from training. 19-21 it is all competition based. and over 21 it is luck and prayer and you only need training to keep fit or match day bonuses. most of the training really has to do with the players hidden attributes. all the best stuff in the world wont make them develop if their hidden attributes are crap, or more likely make it nearly impossible. this is why almost no content creators or people who post training schedules get it right. you want schedules for your main squad that give match bonuses and completely minimize injury risk. even the SI default schedules are crap they completely kill your 1st squad. that is why all injuries come from training. i only get injuries in training now for like 1-3 days. all my real injuries only happen in match day now. most of my youth develop cause they play no games just train insane. then loan out to my league or leagues near me in competition scale. reserve games are honestly useless in terms of player development. immersion and role playing yes reserves are good but in terms of just game play it is better to have reserves/youth teams that arent in a league.
  4. think they are better off upgrading their "Paper BOy" graphics first before they attempt anything else 3d.
  5. you can change their agreed playing time to whatever you want on the first day they arrive at the club and they wont complain. if you pass that time frame. you can change it whenever you want. just pick the option i changed it for competition at your position. if they dont agree then raise hands in defense and backdown. no morale penalty basically. and once the interaction is over immediately change their playing time. they wont ever complain about it.
  6. So under supporters there is a season ticket waiting list. Ive noticed on both teams i have managed so far that the waiting list is in the thousands. 9k+ but my stadium only holds around 5500 and season tickets sold were like 600. How could there be 9k on the waiting list if we arent at full capacity and we are only selling 600 season tickets. just makes no sense. Ive noticed it on both the only 2 teams ive managed so far in fm23. waiting lists are for when the stadium is max capacity and all the season tickets are sold out. what is SI meaning by the this waiting list under supporters. if its useless why is it in there? unless it is completely bugged out. or the attendance is bugged. something aint right.
  7. Plus how about when you can see outside the stadiums? Like trees or roads etc. It literally looks like graphics out of Paper Boy. SI can focus all they want on the match engine but it will only be incremental improvements every year unless they created an entire new engine. that is why SI needs to focus on stadiums, atmosphere, sound, fans/crowds, the pitch, weather, and lighting. that will make the game so much better. I mean even the weather is garbage graphical speaking.
  8. All of the content creators are calling for graphic updates. it isnt really the graphics per se. It is the STADIUM, ATMOSPHERE, LIGHTING, and even SOUND. You should not have a game where the vast majority of the user base turns off sounds. That means your sounds are trash and need improvement. Not to keep comparing to OOTP (out of the park baseball) but it does stadium, atmosphere and sound much better. Of course it is a little easier in american baseball. But SI is about 100x a bigger company. OOTP released a stadium editor too. They released the 32 stadiums for the MLB but the modders did international stadiums, minor league stadiums all kinds of historical and fictional stadiums. I dont need the player models updated. I need the stadium, pitch, lighting, atmosphere and sound improved for FM24. It is just so trash. And improving those things wont require dedicated gpu's like updating the player models while it will make the game look 5x as better as it does now. Even if SI just created stadiums for 2 leagues fully and had a tool for modders it would be huge. But the lighting is just too simplistic for 2022. The sound we know is trash and it shouldnt be. Sound should be like being a an actual match. And the atmosphere needs to be like we are at a match. The fan graphics are awful. I think there is so much room for improvement without needing gaming gpus. It is the little things, the over looked things that SI needs focus on,
  9. i think if they end the match in their promised role it counts. think it has to be the last 15 minutes
  10. i will say there are no tough challenges for the experienced fm player. what makes them challenging isnt the difficult rating but the length, tediousness and how much actual real world time it takes. every challenge is possible but it just depends on your time and how patient you are.
  11. go hard in match preparation and team bonding in training. like max it out if you have 1 game just fill every slot with match prep until you use them all up. after a month of that you will be good. if you notice in custom schedule it will max out fatigue reduction, max cohesion, happiness and familiarity while no effect on condition or injury. so underrated. i find it extremely useful for building a nation saves with the new champions league rules. the league phase can even be more deadly at its completely random. you might be up against 8 worldbeaters and your team still doesnt like losing even though they are suppose to. i drop this training on after champ games before league games to max them out morale wise. match prep for your main squad is so underrated i feel in the fm community. its probably the best kind of training for you main squad if they are all over say 21 years of age. everyone is so concerned of squeezing' like 5 points out of training some wonderkid. if they dont develop it aint cause of your training. sell and move onto the next kid.
  12. always remove role when doing loans been doing that for the last 3 fm games. sometimes i even drop them to fringe it increases the cost slightly but worth it. however we shouldnt have to change the role. think role should just be removed its kind of pointless.
  13. but most of the time in a llm save it is just a waste of money i never have my staff more then 1 or 2 seasons. constantly upgrading. i just sign them all to 1 years deals and never extend them ever again even if they are with me for 20 years. besides retiring usually only the assistant might leave. it is a waste of in game time, money, resources and a waste of real life time and mouse clicks to even bother extending staff. there is almost 0 chance they ever leave.
  14. It is even the 3d newgens. you cant see their faces on the pitch anyway so why waste resources on 3d modeling the faces for profile pics????? better off using high quality 2d pics and just some kind of links to have the 3d model in match engine use same skin, hair etc. if you are going to do 3d modeling then you better do it right. SI has great ideas but a lot of failed implementation in the real world. ive only been playing fm since fm19 but exactly the same graphics, atmosphere, stadiums, newgen pics etc and it is starting to be really annoying. SI time to step up for fm24.
  15. exactly this. it completely bugs out and makes no sense. you literally have to recreate all of your assignments every season or they get jumbled up and mixed up. and restarting them doesnt work for ongoing or the UI is just displaying the wrong info either way its not working properly
  16. honestly that isnt good results. you can get better results just from doing a player search and adding the players to a report manually. or just browsing teams in england. in 2 months depending on number of scouts they can do 100s of players when added manually. i guess it is a good for casual gamers but FM is a management sim you always get better results in those style games when the human takes control of everything. why would a human choose to do something that is a weaker scouting method? when i get to prem and have 2 dozen plus scouts my scouts do thousands of players a year. why would i rely on these assignments over my own knowledge of the game when after 2 months you had 11 recommendations. it just doesnt make any se sure FM needs some tools for casual players to get involved in. but if casual players were a priority then SI would be better off updating graphics, sound, atmosphere, lighting, and stadiums. its almost exactly the same thing for squad planner great for casuals but pretty worthless for anyone else.
  17. depends on your team and facilities and rep. it is just a long shot in llm especially in england. ive gotten a player who newgenned in vns who made it to the prem and did well. but that was like 1 time since fm19. it is just a whole lot of effort for players who most likely are going to immediately get replaced every time you got promoted. better off singing youth from the prem that gets released or doesnt make it past youth trials. that literally can carry you basically to the championship. with maybe a handful of expiring contract singings. plus when the youth dont develop you cant even make any money on them. better off focusing on youth that gets released and expiring contracts so at least you can sell for profit even if small. then it is the question of all that youth staff. usually they are garbage because you have no rep, most of the llm time. or you have to over pay or them. Then when you are in the Prem it is easy enough to just sign the big teams trial players before they sign contracts. Better to get world beater newgens then your teams low ranked rep newgens. Poaching youth is the way to go until your top 5 rep with top coaches and top facilities. And by then you probably wont even need them unless you want them
  18. the completed section is an unorganized mess. there will be a million old focuses. with no way to delete them. scouting needed a refresh but this new method still has its training wheels on. great idea but it just fails in execution and from almost 200 hours in fm23 it seems the new scouting just wasnt ready for prime time. things are great in a controlled environment or internal testing but when given to 500k plus users it just shows how it wasnt ready. is it a huge deal. no. just really annoying. and i also find if you try to restart a bunch of focuses at the same say like dozen plus. it bugs out. as the wrong focus name is listed for the scouts even if you edit it and it is the correct one. kinda hard to explain but certainly a lot of weirdness is going on,
  19. i dont think so cause if you coach a national team you arent restricted at all in report size. you can do as many players as you want
  20. so this. having a youth or reserve in lower leagues is just a complete waste of time, resources and money. you dont want players or staff honestly. dont even think about reserves or youth until you are in the prem and all your facilities are near the top.
  21. i think this is the problem. something is weird with ongoing. i want to setup my scout assignments then never have to worry about them again. standard and top you have to continually restart them. i get what SI was doing but they just made assignments extremely tedious. previously it was scout this nation for eternity. in a long term save who wants to start assignments a billion times. ongoing needs to be fixed. i had 16 scouts in 16 nations all on ongoing but then after so many months the scouts were some how only scouting a handful of nations. all of their nations changed by themselves. makes no sense. Its a million times easier to just manually scout everyone and add them to reports yourself if ONGOING doesnt work the way it previously did. i dont want to have to restart assignments for 30 years in a save.
  22. You have to make sure some lower leagues are loaded where there are amateur and semi pro teams as they are more likely to hire a 0 experience manager. Some players holiday to Xmas where there tends to be sackings/firings and you can apply for more jobs then that at the start of the game date. What I usually do is add a league that has it's start date in the current years off season. So say may/june/july 2023. Just like holidaying to december there are more job openings. I like this better as I can start fresh and a year already has passed in game which means 1 year of newgens has been completed. As with long term saves the real world of football ongoings is insignificant as by the time you are ready to run with the big boys most irl guys are retired or on their way.
  23. Honestly i dont even go to the screen but just knowing it is there freak me out and i hate it hahah
