I mean, undoubtedly there are people who do, because there is no way to prevent people from doing it or check the legitimacy of their intakes. That said, it's very much against the spirit of the challenge, imo. Getting no good full-backs for eight years and having to repurpose some DMs into IWBs is part of the whole experience.

Profile I've started saves in England, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Mexico in the last couple of days, trying to get back into FM after a few months break but couldn't settle (gotta get past that first season hump). My heart is set on retrying Redditch United in FM24, so I need something with quick seasons to tide me over. I've found a club I like though, in SWEDEN. I haven't managed here since the early CM days (Bakircioglu, Kallstrom etc). I also know two bits of Swedish, both of which would get me banned on this forum so I shan't repeat them.. The leaderboard is a distant impossibility - I'm never getting on that thing. I'm just here for the ride, baby.

@Dr Pepper Man Congratulations. You did really well to keep your squad on such low wages. 1k a week for your star DC and DM in the Prem is remarkable.

The only way to stop it is by growing into the biggest club so you're the one doing the poaching. If you go to transfers/clauses, poached players usually have a sell-on-clause when they get put into the game, you'll be able to see the poached players there.

Level of Discipline increases as you fine/warn players. It's the easiest manager attribute to increase for that reason. Pretty sure Working With Youngsters never increases, no matter what you do or how many coaching badges you get. That said, I don't think it has any game impact as it's purely used when coaching youth teams.

Season 6 - 2028/29 Fortuna liga - 5th MOL Cup - Fourth Round A superb season, which had some odd similarities to the season before. Whilst last season, I swapped from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 in order to combat my bad form, this season I swapped back to my old 4-3-2-1 in November - to proceed to win seven on the bounce. It's a lesson I've learned before in this challenge, and one I've now learned twice this run: play your best players. Get them into a working system. The lack of money in this league means that we lose £200k a month minimum. I financed the season by making a sale, and it was our biggest one yet. He made the appearance to net us the further £2m. We've absolutely stitched them up here, no way is he worth £8m - he'd peaked. We get 1.5m each summer for the next 2 years, so it's money to tick us over. The £3m we got up-front financed upgrades to both training and youth facilities, although I've been refused Youth Recruitment and Junior Coaching for about 2 years now. I've signed most of the players up to new contracts, without release clauses, although a couple did manage to sneak one in. Our two previous sales have already left the clubs I sold them to, for half of what they were bought for, so my 50% profit sell on clauses have gone to waste. It's fine, I rather enjoy seeing players demanding to leave and stalling their careers. Top Newgens Chris Vickers 28a - Managed to just about get him to sign a contract until 2031, albeit with a £1.8m release clause. Stars as an AP(a) which I'm loving this year. Jakub Sirl 27a - Finally showed the kind of form I've wanted since he joined. 29 goals in 32 games. Jakub Mrázek 27g - It's just nice to have an actual left back on this challenge. I always have to convert a DM or something. Adam Kubáň 26b - Wish he scored more, but an important influence on the right wing. Youth Intake Samadashvili is ridiculous. No way I can keep him for long but might actually pay off long-term if a huge club wants him.

Season 5 - 2027/28 Fortuna liga - 9th MOL Cup - Quarter Final A very successful first season in the top flight. We were 2nd bottom at the winter break - our form afterwards was utterly unbelievable. I chose to sell star midfielder Novak in the pre-season for £1m to Serie A side Pisa as he had 12 months on his contract left. There were however, 2 pieces of bad news at the end of the season. This is one of my best CMs - most assists this season. Horrific injury in the final match of the season. This is incredibly stupid. I literally had this 2 seasons ago and re-upgraded them. Fuming about this. Top Newgens Adam Urban 25a - Has really come on this season, scored some important goals as IF on the left. Chris Vickers 26a - The next player who will end up leaving us. Jakub Sirl 27a - Top scorer, and was lethal when the form picked up after Christmas. Youth Intake I forgot to take a picture of the preview. It was an A Centre Midfielder, and C's everything else. Happy with the DM, the ST has a weird attribute spread though. I'm now officially desperate for DCs, however.

Also, PSA: DO NOT PROMISE TO PLAY YOUTH PLAYERS It is bugged. "Any youth players". Bruh.

Hi, I have the same issue. My player Adam Urban 25a suddenly had the promise fail. I'm doing the Youth Academy challenge - almost the entire squad are players from the academy. Have uploaded 2 saves: Viktoria Zizkov.fm - promise failed on 24th May. Viktoria Zizkov Urban Promise - saved 21 days before the promise ends.

Season 4 - 2026/27 Fortuna národní liga - 1st *Promoted* That's how we do it. First half of the season was alright, we were top 3 but drawing too many. After the winter break we were an unstoppable force, with 10 wins in 14 games. The one negative so the season was losing our star full back, Tomáš Hochmeister 25e to Sparta Prague. The chairman accepted the offer of £1.6m (paid over 3 years) without my consent. We lose about £180k a month, so the money does help us keep afloat, but it was disappointing. Star Newgens Jiří Valsa 26e - I now have 3 promising GKs at the club, but I went all in on this lad because of his personality. Has been a stunning shot stopper this season. Milan Novák 24d - 1 year left and exploring his options, but utterly crucial as one of my DMs Adam Kubáň 26b - Performance-wise shouldn't be on this list, but he has so much ability, I need to find a way to unlock it. Youth Intake I'm starting to feel that this has been changed so that A's mean "Truly excellent", whilst B's and C's are still capable of developing into 1st team players. It used to be that only A's were worth considering. I mean, THIS GUY. He's literally gone straight into my team as the best striker at the club. He scored 8 goals in his first 6 games for us. There's a few other decent ones, another Gk which is overkill, but a couple of full-backs that can replace Hochmeister. Starting to worry about DMs though, with Novak likely to leave soon. Next Season Obviously avoid relegation is the goal. However, any time we've played a top flight team in the cup we've done very, very well, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Season 3 - 2025/26 Fortuna národní liga - 2nd (Lost Play-off Final) You know that feeling in this game, where you fail at the final hurdle but you don't mind because you kind of aren't good enough and are just proud you did your best? That's this season. I can't fault the lads, especially as I phased out as many legacy players as I could. Ultimately though, we just fell short in the two-legged play-off against top flight Sigma Olomouc. After drawing 1-1 in the home tie, we lost 1-2 in the return leg after extra-time. Even our MOL Cup Quarter Final defeat to the Czech giant Viktoria Plzeň was a close run 1-2. We're competing in every match and we're getting better. I also managed to get almost everyone tied down on 4 year contracts (2+2 in my favour), in some cases 6 year (2 + 2 in my favour + 2 after promotion) - with no release clauses. Elsewhere, I negotiated a training facilities improvement to bump is back to the level it was before it dropped. Top Newgens Milan Novák 24d - He's the one guy I can't get to renegotiate a contract. At least until I'm promoted, I think. Only player to average above a 7 this season. Tomáš Hochmeister 25e - Just a super solid full back who's developed very nicely due to that Resolute personality. Youth Intake The two AMCs are a great pick up, but this is the intake. This intake potenially plugs a bunch of holes and I can develop into a promotion clinching team. Solid personalities, good spread of positions and, for the first time ever in this challenge, I actually have a pretty balanced squad after just a few seasons. A quality DC would be perfect though. Next Season Maybe promotion? We came close, let's go further. Loving the save though, this is where things start to get really good, imo.

Season 2 - 2024/25 Fortuna národní liga - 6th 6th for the second year running. This time, however, we dropped out of the play-offs over the last 5 games with a disastrous run of form. It's alright. We are nowhere good enough for the top division, more time to develop youngsters is required. Especially in defence, oh boy are we bad in defence. Star player Václav Kadlec is leaving on a free this summer and I don't really have anyone to fill the AMC position he vacates, which is a shame because I'm enjoying playing 4-2-3-1 for the first time in years on FM. Top Newgens Jan Zedníček 24b - 26 goals in 30 appearances. He's already wanted by top Czech teams. Milan Novák 24d - Started developing very very well. He's wanted by Slavia Prague and I've had to promise to let him go if I get a £1.2m offer. He's fickle, so won't stay, but will be the first player I sell for a bit of money. Unfortunately, I received this awful news item in the close season. Really hate this, I get why it's in the game but it's just terrible. Youth Intake 5 of these have gone into the first team mix. Probably the reason for the poor form at the end of the season, but a long-term view is essential. Next Season Might just go full youth - have a bit of a transition season.

Season 1 - 2023/24 Fortuna národní liga - 6th Bit of a mad season. There's a 3 month winter break, and going into it I was almost 1 game away from the sack. Afterwards though, we won 9 out of 15 games, to slingshot into the top half and ease the pressure on me. This was almost entirely down to one player - Václav Kadlec, the one-time FM wonderkid. He's 32 now, and a little bit temperamental, but hit 22 goals to ensure our position. The legacy players are all pretty old, the best 5 are 31/32 and my first choice GK is retiring at 37. It means fast-tracking the youth through. The Intake We've got decent facilities, but this looked awful. It turned out okay. I don't understand the intake preview system at all. Not fit for purpose, imo. These are the two stand outs. Zednicek has already scored 5 goals in 5 games since he joined, which is very promising. Next Season Tread water, develop youth, get more coaching badges + recruitment upgrades and build, build, build.

Alright, Indonesia is still broken (contract dates and registry of players). So I'm off to a club I've had on a list of those to try. It's FK Viktoria Žižkov in the Czech Republic. I know a couple of others have given this team a go too. They're a decent size and have a load of history being one of the oldest clubs in the country. I spent all of yesterday evening loading and holidaying new saves and just couldn't find what I wanted. Then, inspiration hit me. As soon as I started reading about the club I was 100% all in. "SV Austria Salzburg is an Austrian professional football club, based in the city of Salzburg. The club was formed in 2005 by some supporters of the original SV (Austria) Salzburg after it was renamed FC Red Bull Salzburg by its new owners, who also changed the club's colours from its traditional violet and white to red and white. The original club was formed in 1933. It was subject to a takeover by the Red Bull company in 2005. They renamed the club FC Red Bull Salzburg, changed the team colours and claimed that it was a new team. As a concession to pleas to keep the old colours, Red Bull offered to allow the goalkeeper's socks to be purple for away matches. This was viewed as an insult by fans caused a group of supporters, known as the "Violet-Whites", to want to preserve the 72-year-old traditions of their club which they felt had been ignored by Red Bull." You could use an lnc file to change the name of the club, like some of us do to tag our newgens. It's nothing to do with the editor, just overriding the name the team uses.

Yeah, I have it disabled on my actual saves - only ever use it for testing purposes.
