  1. I'd guess ref review means the ref goes to watch a TV and decides, while remote review means the boffins in the VAR room make the decision? Not sure I've actually seen that anywhere IRL
  2. That's interesting, wonder if it can handle the Copa Libertadores being played in 2023 (or if that's even possible if you start early enough, like in MLS or Brazil in 2023), and if the winner would then also get in the 32-team summer version in 2025. Will check it out. Thanks for looking
  3. @Vakama2619 @alian62 is there a head researcher for Oceania? Oddly the OFC Nations Cup is set to "other international" while the U19s are "main continental international finals". You can see it when you check Oceania in-game and it shows up at the top instead. Wonder if this was by design so that qualifying or that weird cross-pollination with the Pacific Games/Olympic Qualifying works
  4. Is the 7-team version played in December 2023? Then anything in December 2024? FIFA have announced a new tournament that's fairly similar to the 7-team version
  5. Yeah, I was thinking of just moving that promotion group stage wholesale into one of the three sub-competitions, and setting it up so that visually it will function the exact same way as you're intending now. It is a work-around but might accomplish the same goal
  6. If you like I can send a version with the "dates" set up for the Saturday/Tuesday/holiday Monday run that all the lower leagues use. Can hopefully copy and paste it from the FM23 editor into 24
  7. In FM23 at least there's also VAR options under the competition itself (not the rules, but the comp info, like when you click on it to change the name). I think you need to change both, or at least if the rules are blank (instead of specifying no VAR) then those under the competition itself will override
  8. What's the status with the Club World Cup? Is it played in December 2023? I could see them skipping that because it's hard to work out qualifying in the background if the Copa Lib 2023 is played in-game (not a problem in my files) Anyone simmed ahead to see if's 32 teams in summer 2025? Have they tried implementing the new tournament from December 2024?
  9. Normally a league stage is enough for the game to know who's finishing in different rankings, but once you add different stages you need to specify with ranking levels and possibly ranking level info for the whole competition. From looking some more I'd guess the issue is the fact that 4 teams are getting promoted from div 5 anyway, then it needs to get this extra team from the promotion group playoff. I wonder if you could set up the promotion playoff group stage in one of the 3 affected division 5 divisions (Coleraine, North west, etc) itself, as an extra stage. Obviously some more rejigging of "requirements" and "qualified teams" and such in that stage and in the intermediate league playoff. Using "other competition to add stage to", you could maybe make the group stage playoff visually appear in all three anyway. This might work because it wouldn't be relying on the parent comp complexity which is probably confusing the game
  10. That's what I'm thinking, I guess the option to disqualify them from the next stage is new. I wonder if it would go to get next team in the list in that case
  11. In the promotion group playoff, are we sure it's pulling enough teams/the correct teams? I wonder if it's something to do with the fact that the "lower division" is actually a specific stage in a parent comp. You could try chopping a bunch of possibly extraneous settings (like all the "other comps to add stage to" and "joint competition" stuff) as it may not be necessary. You should try and avoid using that "add history record" fate action btw, usually means ranking levels aren't being handed out properly. If the game doesn't know who's finishing first/second/third without that, then there will be issues elsewhere (news items, Board reactions, etc)
  12. Right now it just uses "get qualified teams", so if you were to use a custom league (say, in New Zealand) try enabling "continental cup rules" under "other league stage rules" and specify the two teams you want to send for each custom league (guessing league and cup winner). My O-League redux file on Steam uses the real-life format for 2023 and I've just kept that "get qualified teams" thing - whatever it does in the background by default is sending 2 teams each for all the big nations and 1 team for the four developing associations
  13. I think "registered teams" would only affect the first season anyway. I wonder if they're hard-coded to only have one team max. What happens if you sim 5-10 years in the future, does it ever update?
  14. What happens in the second year? First year might be hard-coded, but I think it relies on "registered teams" anyway so you could try editing that and take out a couple of teams in favour of the Singaporean teams you want entered
  15. You can achieve the first by using "results from other stage" or whatever it is, and it should take cup results into the league (cup stage should be "set up" before the league in this case). Look at MLS for that too, I think they have results from the "group" stage going into the single-table stage. You can look at how they award the Supporters' Shield and MLS Cup and use that for the trophy thing too
  16. Try moving the playoff dates so there's no clash. It's annoying but this kind of error message is helpful (even if it could be worded better) because you'd rather it tell you instead of just not running the Europa League every year
  17. Guessing it will check and maybe avoid calling up players who have fixture clashes. Would actually be really helpful for smaller tourneys like the Indian Ocean Games where we want them to call up their best team without taking anyone from playable leagues. The U21 minutes penalty is great, sounds like we can replicate the Canadian PL rule where you have to meet the number to make the playoffs
  18. Can you add one entry, and then press "clear" if you can mass edit them at all? Then you should be able to add new entries one-by-one
  19. Yeah but newgens will still have that issue. I was thinking about a test setup where the Premier League is set up under 'Great Britain' instead of England, I wonder if it would just look for that "British" nationality that they all have in the background
  20. Does it happen to run on any Champions League qualifying dates? Or alter that in any way (possibly not sending enough teams)? Stage 3 of the Europa League (in the first couple of seasons at least) gets losing teams from the CL qualifiers, so I'd guess that's not finishing in time for the Europa League stage 3 setup
  21. When you start a new career game, when you're selecting leagues, at the top right you can do a custom setup and load everyone based in certain nations, and/or of that nationality
  22. I agree with the player interactions in principle, but when choosing the multiple-choice answers you don't find yourself asking "how would I actually manage this interaction" but instead its "how does the game logic dictate I should handle this based on getting burned the last few times". It's like a game in itself, and not a very fun one at that
  23. Post here if you spot anything new in the imminent release of the FM24 editor (or if you happen to be one of the lucky few with early access). Any new options? Shortcuts? Have they refined the functionality of any of the broken stuff like non-EU rules and All-Star games?
  24. Check "contract types" for the clubs and the competition itself. Even if it says "full time" by default, click the box and select that anyway to force it to recognize the change
