  1. I don't think that's actually an option (lots of under-21 type rules though), but I imagine they would just get confused. I swore I read on here once that AI looked to "match rules" to affect their transfer strategy (but not overall season rules) hence all my redundant entries, although I haven't really seen that established in practice
  2. This is the type of seed I plant in my head, then go for a walk or something and come back ready to stop butting my head against the wall with a new editing plan If you go that route, maybe copy and/or remove the coefficient win/draw settings (points for win and draw etc) and place them in the new comps instead (save a backup first obviously)
  3. "Other international" might help, I think Nations League uses that? (instead of "international finals"). But I'm not sure there's a U21 option actually...
  4. Does that number represent a unique ID that corresponds to a stadium you were using or anything?
  5. That makes sense. I wonder if you could keep them around just to hold, like, a hidden stage that would sort teams (and maybe distribute them to other competitions). Maybe just an early qualifying stage. In FM23 I edited the ACL by wiping the groups and knockouts, so you can make wholesale changes like that as long as it's still there. But it wouldn't surprise me if it crashed anyway with the degree of changes we're talking
  6. I considered that but it seems like way too much work, i think you'd have to rebuild the entire coefficient system? Looks daunting
  7. When loading a league where a competition uses penalties after 90 minutes in a group stage, but starting with a later start date in another country, the league that's already partway finished will load without detailed information for results such as scorers - this is normal - but also loads such that every result was apparently a straight win/loss over 90 minutes, as no team has any penalty wins or penalty losses, which seems implausible: This game started in August 2023, also with a custom league loaded with MLS Next Pro using a group stage with "match rules" set to penalties after 90 minutes. As you can see, it's implausible that none of the results went to a 90 minute draw and penalties. Once you start playing, though, 90-minute draws that go to penalties crop up almost instantly: Ultimately it's not gamebreaking, just odd seeing the table without a single game that was drawn after 90 minutes, after 20+ games played each
  8. Haven't touched MLS to that extent, gonna keep all the hard-coded stuff like drafts, international spots, etc. At least until the final patch.
  9. Whatever's in there by default for 2023, so yeah they're in there (for now). Will consider what to do with them (and other clubs that go bust) in future versions but it makes sense to keep them. SI tend to do North America by the season so everything for FM24 is licensed based off 2023, including rosters (for now at least)
  10. Soccer in America is here! This activates the US lower leagues down to USL2 with the D3 leagues USL1, MLS Next Pro, and NISA, updated with each official patch. If anyone wants to help pad out the missing graphics, or knows of obscure resources for late 90s and 2000s USL/PDL info (or can assist a wider NCAA project), your help is welcomed. Many thanks to @Gum for his extensive US stadium changes which are included and which will make for a realistic-looking 2026 World Cup! 11. That's bizarre, is this only for inactive divisions? I wonder if you could give them a secondary division or something and have it active but without any rules
  12. Try adding each of those Saturdays into "dates" so that it will schedule games there as a matter of priority. Also under "fixture rules" I'm guessing both the Central American Cup and your default league have the box unchecked for "number of days between games" or whatever it is, the default is 3 though so that shouldn't matter here (should still be able to do Saturday or Sunday then Wednesday)
  13. Even with the Gulf Player Fix file I haven't been able to counter it that much. Funnily enough by programming in Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal's transfer ban last year (only lasted until winter 2022) I delayed it by a few months, lol, but the exodus is real and starts as soon as they can. It seems to be a fundamental issue with how the AI handles its squad given how quickly they turn them into "surplus to requirements". So even controlling their transfer behaviour would be a band-aid I think, we need to somehow convince them that keeping a solid stable of domestics is crucial in its own right.
  14. I think you need to use "process into stage" under the league settings of the hidden stage this year as well Or wait it's a cup stage? Try that "take stage results into other stage" setting under "stage actions" or wherever it is too
  15. Haven't seen much in the way of improved scheduling tbf, game still wants to bunch up weekend/midweek fixtures in the first part of the season as much as possible
  16. Stage 2 is the hidden stage? It can have everyone, doesn't matter as it doesn't actually show up. Then in the hidden stage, everyone plays everyone else using fixture plan rules under group settings. Then in the visible stage, under league settings use "get matches from other stage" and make sure "count fixtures" is checked (because you're getting all the results from only a partial amount of the teams)
  17. There's a "stage flag" that says "store stage name with history", do you have that enabled? Also have you found any way to get rid of that annoying "Loudoun United cannot be promoted" line, other than changing them from a 'B' team to a different type of affiliation with DCU?
  18. Doubt they care enough for custom leagues. Anything they adjust might have knock-on effects in leagues that are actually licensed, so as long as transfer AI is (barely) passable there, the status quo reigns. I *think* the problem is simply that the big clubs decide these players aren't good enough and sell them/don't sign them, with the sort of game logic that they'll find suitable domestic players as a replacement (and in England, or Brazil, they would). Here, though, there are very few (Al-Dawsari et al), so they just leave those roster spots blank. I'm working on a realistic US pyramid for now, might come back to this at some point
  19. No, that takes a bit more work rebuilding all the Asian international comps, might have a go at that at some point (possibly after the last official patch as their fixes can tend to nuke anything like this)
  20. You can't use "start of season" anymore, you have to specify the comp and a start date too I think
  21. You can't just use the default "start of season" in "start date" anymore, for some reason you have to specify the division (and maybe a specific date) now. So weird
  22. Your "ranking levels" are blank, there might be some default hard-coded ranking levels that take over unless you specify here. Just take a look at a default comp somewhere to see how they need to look to account for everyone being knocked out along the way
  23. Yeah they won't change anything to support created leagues. And agreed, I use to love starting unemployed in D4 USA or Canada (closest thing a real manager's path for someone in my position IRL) but MLS is such a mess by the third or fourth season it's really only suitable as a start to your career. Play a couple of seasons, then move to Mexico/Europe/S. America. Sadly the Gulf leagues don't even last that long before the big teams' rosters implode
  24. Absent any work-around, the way the AI handles squad-building is fundamentally incompatible with the setup in the Gulf leagues where it's high-rep foreigners along with best-available domestics. Usually AI squad-building is a mess by the second or third season in leagues like MLS and Australia but it's in overdrive here
