    There have been requests for being able to load save games into the next version for many years. Gamepass might have added to the requests, but the request is way older than Gamepass.

    Àlthough nothing is known about the FM24 editor yet, my assumption was that we can copy editor files, verify them and then play. Considering someone managed to copy one of my FM20 files to FM23 and verify it in the editor, I don't see much of an issue moving files from FM23 to FM24.

    I mentioned the DFB pokal as an example to study without having the background of your exact plan. As I said, there are various rules to determine which teams come through and which won't. There are options for ignores, removes, pick backup teams, etc, etc. Having a competition where a B-team is playing in, while they can't play in the next competition is in my own Iron Curtain files. Anyway, since this is editor requests and not editors hideaway, I will keep it on subject.

    I hope you don't mind me answering on some of your points. Please take a look at the DFB Pokal. It excludes B-teams. This can be done in Advanced Rules. If you look at the Austrian setup, it is divided into Bezirke. You can create your lowest level of local region and only need a sheet of paper, notepad or excel to organize things.

    That looks worse than what the current FM engine does and you would expect the current level as the absolute baseline. So yes, SI will do better than that. At least you avoided swear words

    The intended season was 1987/88, but we took some liberties because of changing competitions.

    Despite the lack of updates, in the background we are working on checking our status and discussing the step towards FM24. We all agree that it is a good idea. The only thing we haven't decided on yet is which database version, 24.1, 24.3 or 24.4.

    At this time only FM23 >> FM24 is know. FM24 to FM25 is expected as it would be strange to add the feature and then remove it in the next version, but has not been officially confirmed.

    Based on the fact that you can share saves between people and the second person doesn't need the editor files that are included in the save, I expect it to be working the same if you load a FM23 save into FM24. However, question remains what happens if your save game has some data that is not in FM24. This can be players, but also for competitions.

    This could be an order problem. Make sure the Soviet Union DB is loaded first (based on the database name) and then the Visegrad DB.

    I will meddle from the moment the release says go, but I understand your point. When considering moving IC22 to FM24 the first thought that came up was, OK, but which database version?

    Considering save games can be shared without the second person needing the editor files if they are used in the save games, my expectation* is that save games with editor can be loaded * disclaimer, I am assuming here

    Everything I do right now is good for the project. If the editor is good enough and a few file conversions will tell me enough I would know if it is worth it.
