  1. On the subject of signing youth players, i found when you get into the league above you can end up loaning the players out (and teams will want them!). I always sign all the players up and still barely had many players left to play in the youth team as the rest were all out on loan. That is a poor intake but the standard for an intake is much higher in spain and most clubs have average facilities rather than really awful facilities so produce players that can play in the first team every year.
  2. Playing in spain in FM22, La liga teams got tv money of £30 million last year so just being in the league will solve most problems. The league below got much less tv money about 3 or 4 million but it still improves the finances hugely, i found finances not to be a huge issue from that point.
  3. Good 1st season, surprised you did not sign Almany from the youths, looked like he could could come on to do a job as a sub. I tend to always sign higher potential players as the initial assessment could be wrong and 6 months later they are a 5 star player, the personality could also improve. A 2 star player is less likely to turn into good player. Finances are always a huge problem below the top 2 leagues when tv money comes into play.
  4. Most of that bug report is correct, however they may be classed as rivals due to the fact that your team is a rival for them but not the other way round, ive seen that before in my save.
  5. the top 2 levels from the other 5 leagues and all portugal leagues. My non-eu players tended to be British, N and S american, don't remember many africans counting as non-eu and i scouted the bigger countries looking for cheap stars, usually the top 3 clubs in that nation generate them or just look at the u20's. Ghana and Ivory coast are always good if you can get the players early ( french clubs seem to snap them up)
  6. i played in spain last year and found it hard to often loan players out to the right level, usually it was too low. Young players often wanted a lot of money, almost as much as first teamers at times which considering you make a huge loss below La liga is an issue when you can't play the player (as you have 23 already) or get anyone to pay those wages on loan. I think there may be a lot more african countries counted as eu - The line African, caribbean, pacific group of state nations includes most of the rest of Africa (except the Northern countries) as far as i could tell.
  7. The scouting is new this year and has been changed. My set up is like the one above with an age range of 15-50 and 1ss CA to 4 star potential, in 6 months i have 1 recommendation in the bottom league in sweden! The Keita thing could be a signing on fee, maybe that is now deducted from the transfer fund which would be a brand new thing.
  8. The league below also has the same rules but slightly lower wages. Also the b team players can't play unless they are one of the 23. Players under 19 didn't need registering if on youth contracts and so could play - i didn't offer any FT contracts until they couldn't play at 19/20.
  9. I had the filter blank and the parameters as wide as possible but in 4 months my scouts found no-one in sweden. I think it may be bugged along with that Keita transfer you had which seems wrong. Wait until you get promoted and then look at the registration rules where you have to pay players a certain wage to be able to register them if over 19. Federation 2nd was the lowest level playable last year in spain so Melila should be playable.
  10. you can change it in preferences, can't remember which one mind, skin colours or something similar
  11. red (16-20), green, orange, light blue for me @FelixForte- you can change the values of the scales in preferences
  12. Portugal seems like it fits your criteria although it can be tough to get out of the bottom league i found and most teams are pro. Only the big 5 leagues have long seasons, most are 30-36 league games + cup games. Not many leagues have semi-pro teams available, most countries with 2 playable leagues tend to be pro (most eastern european countries that i have seen). The nordic countries are semi-pro but they are a normal league system (playing home and away).
  13. That must be the worst youth intake you have had, worse even than when you were a division lower. Scouting is very long winded now, you need to spend months and effort to get a good understanding of a player and they are often wrong. Get the best scouting package so you will know more about the players before you start scouting them. Scouts also don't pick up much knowledge of countries they don't know (less than 4%) so its best to send ones with a good knowledge already. Most african players are often dual nationals from the top leagues but focus on the best clubs from the main african nations as most players will come from just 3 clubs in those nations.
  14. You must be the first person i've seen that complains when being more successful and scoring more goals then complains how they are scored. You would make a good chairman with that thinking
  15. 2038/39 Table | Squad | Transfers Started rather indifferently having to juggle european matches but having enlarged the squad was able to rotate and soon picked up form to get into the top 4. In the 2nd half of the season the team lost only 1 game in the last 19 to chase R Madrid but were always well behind and finished 2nd. This felt like a missed opportunity as the team had the best defence in the league but lacked goals with 7 0-0 draws really costing the team. In the spanish cup the team entered at the 3rd rd due to the super cup. Facing Barcelona away in the Qtr-final the team conceded a 92 minute equaliser before being outplayed in ET and losing 1-2. In the Euro cup the team comfortably got through the group stage but missed out on top after getting hammered by Inter away. In the 1st KO rd the team faced Porto and drew 0-0 away before thrashing them 4-0 at home. The 2nd KO rd was an easier tie against Club Brugge but somehow lost 0-1 at home despite having 26 shots to 3. The away leg was the same with 17 shots to 7 to draw 0-0 and go out. Finances remained reasonably steady, Sant Andrue is 1 of just 2 clubs in Spain listed as rich. I sold Quintanilla ( 204 apps) after deciding i could do better and he was a dirty player who seemed to be getting dirtier with 6 red cards in the last 3 seasons. After offering £22 million and £32k p/w for Villamizar last season only for it to fall through due to lack of funds i decided he didn't have enough ability to justify paying that and looked for other targets. I bought Rivero instead who played well as an AF although he is more suited to DLF. At the end of the transfer window i was offered Villamizar and signed him for £4.5 million and £14k p/w. An 3 month injury to Cobo meant he came into the team and took over as 1st choice, he also improved from a 3 star player close to his potential to a 4 star player by the end of the season. My best young player Arnedo appeared on the nexgen list but is still not a wonderkid. 16. it seems very harsh to think about sacking you after 1 not so good season, hardly even a disaster, unless you have the most extreme chairman possible. IRL i don't believe a club would even consider the sack after your career, Wenger and Clough are examples of this.
  17. I'm pretty sure that players with negative personalities are rated worse than they are sometimes, if the personality changes they can often be rated much better.
  18. My current save is in Spain at a club in La Liga with almost maxed out facilities and the best players have all been spanish, not too many other nationalities through but they have pretty much all been poor, think they were generally rated poor on intake day. I have not looked at the actual PA to confirm this.
  19. 2037/38 Table | Squad | Transfers Started the season with a few wins followed by 4 losses mostly down to the fact i had 4 senior players out for 3 months each and after that point was always in midtable. Had to rotate the squad a lot due to the european and then cup games so really struggled get a run of wins together. The team was short of goals all season which i realised when looking at the league stats was down to not getting any on target, amongst the lowest in the league, the away form was also dire. In the spanish cup the team cruised through the early rounds playing lower league teams with my reserves before meeting Barcelona in the quarter final . I won 1-0 at home after extra time before then progressing to meet R Madrid in the semi-final. Away in the first leg the team was completely outplayed but came from 0-2 down to lose 2-3. The 2nd leg was more even with the team taking an early lead and going on to win 2-0. In the final the team played 2nd div Tenerife and needed penalties to win the cup. In europe the team were in the Euro cup group stages and although were well beaten by Hertha Berlin, were still comfortably better than the other 2 teams. In the 1st KO rd the team beat Benfica over the 2 legs before facing Hertha again. After sneaking a lucky win in the 1st leg the team were well beaten in the 2nd leg. In 4 matches against Hertha they scored 9 goals from 87 shots against the 2 goals from 25 shots my team managed. They are one of the stronger teams in Europe now, only the 1st season in 12 they had not been in the CL. Finances remained the same as i got more money from europe but spent more on transfers and wages. I sold Varga (133 apps, 3 goals) as i got fed up with his whinging and spent a record fee on his replacement. I thought i overpayed for Bray but turned down £44 million at the end of the season. Goals were a problem this season and Mabunda underperformed in a big way after throwing a fit about not joining Sparta Prague at the start of the season. I sold him to R Madrid after 14 goals in 58 goals with most of the goals against lower opposition teams. I was left with only 2 main strikers for half a season as a deal for a new striker fell through as i could not afford the fee (i didn't realise the sale of Mabunda was in installments with little upfront). I also sold Brkljaca (121 apps, 14 goals) as i was going to let him go at the end of the season anyway due to injuries and loss of ability. My best players were Cobo who played half fit a lot and Seeman who ended up being drafted in to play up front as he was accomplished anyway. My star GK who is a youth product is now the spanish no1, another youth product made a big breakthrough this season. Arnedo is poised to became a big star and has scored more goals and had more assists mostly from AMC than Mabunda managed and in less games and minutes which also shows the underperformance from Mabunda. 20. @DazRTaylor you must have a strong squad, surprised you got Lamela. I would have thought his rep and wages would be far too high for that level
  21. low det is as bad as unamb with a low det i've realised. I had a player through with 3 det who was balanced, low det also means low ambition <10, unambitious is <5 and variable determination
  22. Ive had that in my season i'm just on. Started with 3 key players out for 3-4 months each and with euro and cup games, had games every 3 days for 5 months. My small squad has used every youth player with more than 2 star CA, i also sold my best foward in jan and failed to get in a replacement to leave me with 2 strikers and only 1 youth player of 1 star CA for 5 months. (i realised i could not register 2 other youth players as they were too old and not earning enough, i also forgot to recall from loan a few other youth strikers which was my fault). Good season in the bundesliga with a first season in europe looming, will your board not let you increase youth recruitment?
  23. with 3 dc's and maybe a midfielder or rb who could play there (as many seem to) there is still a good chance of a decent player. Especially since intake previews in terms of pa is only a range and the cb's could be the best players in it.
