  1. Youth rating is very important, its also why smaller clubs in Spain can generate such great players. Certainly Spain seems to get much better players through than in England for example unless you have the very best facilities. I believe than FGN newgens take the youth rating of the country they come from along with your facilities, no idea how 2nd Nationalties are worked out, maybe its all on the primary nationality.
  2. @_JHTB_ Great season there, i've played in Sweden a lot and have always found it hard to get back to back promotions. Have you turned pro, previously i didn't until reaching the Allsvenskan due to low rep/finances.
  3. Gil could be the successor to Crespo, looks really good as a DLP or an AF if his shooting improves. Need to get his strength up to compete for a first team spot. Romero looks poor and i would not be surprised to see his perceived potential go down.
  4. In the premier league a rubbish striker goes for £20M, so i can't see less than that. IRL look at Man City turning down £20M and wanting more for Liam Delap, a 20yo with only 6 games in his career and who is now not ripping it up in the championship . Solanke, Ibe and Brewster are recent Liverpool rejects for big money.
  5. As i mentioned in an example on the last page when i finished that save i looked at the PA's. The youth listed highest that year had a PA of 125, the GK who was 2nd had a PA of 173 so what do the staff know about potential
  6. @Rainbowzwell done on promotion. You look like you have a strong squad there, i always find that the staff under estimate the players ability. I'm sure that a lot of that squad will do well in L2, i can't believe the standard of the spanish players you are getting in.
  7. Its hard to see how Liverpool would get a WP since he is not capped. I notice the transfer is already less than his value Also hard to see how with your facilities such a good player as Crespo was generated at your club.
  8. 2025 Table | Squad | Transfers Started this season really well and was in the top 3 almost all season, this in spite of Lund being a professional team. The pressure to keep winning told and the team lost 4 of the last six games to fall out of the promotion spots. Not entered into the cup as the teams rep is too low. Finances are really poor now and there is nothing i can do to improve them. Not being in the cup is proving costly but only promotion will increase my rep enough to maybe get into the cup. Due to the low rep i am still struggling to find many players interested in joining and none of those was more than 3 stars current ability. In spite of this i did sign Corneliusson who was really effective from the wing. Carlsson did not live up to the highs from last season and veteran Taletovic ended as top scorer Season League Position Swedish Cup Europe Top Scorer Top Assists Attendance Training Youth Junior Youth Rec Notes 2024 D2 SG 9th Not entered N/A Carlsson(24) Carlsson(8) 314 Poor Poor Basic Limited 2025 D2 SG 4th Not entered N/A Taletovic (12) Carlsson(9) 323 Poor Poor Basic Limited
  9. i wouldn't take the lack of interest or otherwise as an indicator. Last year in spain when in L2, i had a youth player come through who had Liverpool and Man Utd interested so i gave him a long contract to keep him although he wasn't really improving from 18 onwards. By 22 he had not improved at all and obviously had peaked at L2 level. I also had a GK come through rated the 2nd best that same year for PA, I didn't really pay much attention to him and after a few loan spells a number of L2 and teams at the bottom of La liga made bids (he was 20). I kept him and made him my no1, by 23 he was Spains no 1 GK and world class. No clubs were interested at 16-18 even though he had been given spanish u19 caps. (i should point out i had nearly maxed out the facilities when these players came through!) I guess Crespo could go one of these 2 ways, there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest from the bigger clubs in very young players in Spain it seemed to me.
  10. Looks like the club is progressing. You are getting through some decent youth players considering the level of facilities. I always assume a player is at a high level of PA if they are described as promising (although this also depends on the club rep), Crespo looks fantastic and must be of La liga potential to be called up by Spain
  11. @_JHTB_ good season there, sometimes the D1S/N can be really tough depending on how many pro teams come down from the D1 Elite. Usually its about surviving the first season
  12. 2024 Table | Squad | Transfers This season was a bit of a struggle as there were very few players willing to join and the best of those wanted a promise to improve the training facilities which i is a promise i would'nt make as i could'nt fulfill it. A couple of spells of good form meant that the team did not spend long in the relegation spots and avoided relegation with 2 games to go. Not entered in the cup. Finances are poor with nothing i can really do to improve them, the team had the 2nd highest average attendence in the league. Carlsson was far and away my star player finishing as the league top scorer thanks to 5 Dfk's and 6 penalties. He would have had more assists if the other players could head a ball as his set pieces are great. I had to promise to improve the training facilities in order to extend his contract. The team was let down by the hopeless standard of the defenders and GK, the others strikers could be improved as well since they scored hatricks in one match and not much else. 13. Good luck avoiding the drop, 1 win looks like it might be enough as the bottom appear in terrible form. Crespo looks a really good player and hopefully he does have a lot of potential. Not sure that Jesus is very good at all. Kujabi looks a better prospect with some good physicals and mentals, is he the first youth who is solely african?
  14. I found loaning out the younger players to be the best bet rather than paying them more as they likely will not get many games and you can play u19's if you really have to. I found the S American market to be the best as they get spanish nationaliy in 2 years so don't take up the non-eu slot for long. Not sure there are many S American/African nationality players though
  15. I told you that the money was good for this league, congrats on promotion. The salary cap is worked out on your income so it is different for every club I think you are overlooking Silas good attributes for his position, pace, technique, ball control, dribbling are all good for a winger at that age
  16. I have started again in Sweden were i am sure i can be successful. I wanted a team in Malmo or Gothenburg as there are a lot of potential rivals in the top divisions. I had to holiday through 2 seasons and got Malmo City who are one of the smallest possible reputation teams. They had minimal facilties, no staff and only 13 players at the start. When i got some staff only 15 unattached players were willing to join, a few better players became willing during pre-season but most wanted me to promise to improve the training facilities which i cant do. The only good point about the club is they have a reasonable number of fans for a club at this level - a sellout of 500 for the first home league game! (although 150 were away fans from another Malmo club) Profile
  17. Good to see this thread back up. @rlipscombe in Sweden the teams appear on 2 dates. 2 days after the last league game 12 teams enter the playoffs and play each other and the winner plays a team from L2 to get promotion (or stay in the league) so 0-6 new teams will be promoted. On the reset date of 26 dec another 12 teams will be promoted.
  18. staff/responsibilities/scouting is what you want. Escalona looks really good with some potential still to go, has he played many games?
  19. It doesn't show a range for the preview. However after using the editor and reloading a lot several years ago when it first came out, i am reasonably sure that is how it works. All the potential players have a range and the preview assessment is based on the range of the players which is how it can say that the best player is likely to be a striker. The problem is that i think the preview seems to be based on all the players coming through at the top of those ranges. This is why i said you may have been unlucky, as they could have been better. Do you have a HOD as i noticed that the u19 manager was responsible for the youth intake. The assessment also relies on the judging abilties of the staff which can be feeble, players with higher initial CA are rated highly when they may be almost at their potential.
  20. the preview shows a range of PA (and CA) for the players. the players primary positions, names,DOB, nationalities are fixed. I think instead of telling you the possible range it is describing the players max possible PA in that range which you are unlikely to get. It is failing in how it is implemented, it would be better if the PA and CA were fixed at the preview and a more accurate preview given.
  21. Having played in spain last year, there is a huge amount of loaning going in the bottom leagues. This is possibly due to the restrictions on wages needed to register players in the top two leagues and youths not earning this and the b team at too low a level. The preview i have come to the conclusion is the best intake you could have (since its still variable after the preview) but obviously most of the time you will not get that. With better facilities you will get much closer each intake unless you are really lucky each intake.
  22. There does seem a big difference in the intake and preview, perhaps you have just been really unlucky twice. Maybe change your youth staff to at least improve the personalities coming through. Boards seem less keen on improving youth recruitment, mine is at limited and they will not improve telling me it at a sufficent level even though most other teams are better in that division. That is a really tough way to finish the season, have you looked at loans from La liga teams (african of course!). Its probably how the other teams do well. For comparision my supporter breakdown, obviously only a 10th of the number of fans.
  23. I ran 1 season in swedens bottom level and the level of debt growing was really bad for that level with few players earning very little. SI have obviously tweaked club finances this year and battling debt is an unannounced FM23 feature.
  24. TV money doesn't show up when looking at the league rules, don't think there is any prize money in La Liga either. All clubs in spain are in huge debt due to the league rules on paying certain wage levels, it doesn't seem to worry most boards. Below is the finances from my save in spain last year from starting in the bottom spanish league. 2025 club took out a loan, 2028 got promoted to the 2nd div, each year previously the board had put money in. The finances seem much worse in this years fm mind at any club from what i can see.
