Well that is very disappointing, was expecting far ore TV money, 1.3M isn't as big as a boost as what i was expecting, still, if i can keep costs low i should be in a good position to improve facilities with the increased attendances.

That's ridiculously low, very suprised at that. You've smashed it getting to Serie A back to back mate.

Im into my 3rd season and have not seen any issues either.

I'm having a complete nightmare in Serie C at the minute. It is GRIM.

I had a mare to start with aswel mate. It'll come good. I found playing more attacking worked a lot better in Serie C than Serie D

It really was a season of two halves. Going into the Christmas break, a relegation fight looked a real possibility, but with a few key loan additions, and a switch to a more attacking formation, our form took a massive upturn.  12 wins from our last 19 league games meant we finished in a very respectable 9th place, San Marino's highest ever league finish. Onto the play offs where we beat Renate 3-0 in the 1st Rnd. The next tie was against Giana Erminio, and after a goalless draw, we progressed due to being the higher seeded side (very harsh) . The 3rd round was a two legged tie against Juve Stabia, a 2-1 1st leg triumph, saw us progress after a 0-0 2nd leg result. In the QF we faced Novara, who the bookies had as comfortable favourites, and this prediction rang true as they beat us 2-1 over the 2 legs to end our promotion dreams. I didn't expect to do so well this season, especially after our start to the campaign. Overall im delighted, and looking forward to next season. If we can add a few new signings, and carry our end of season form into the next season, we should have a real shot at promotion.

    Playing Side

    Squad    Transfers

Another good season of progression for the club. The standard of player has gradually improved, and with my policy of signing young, there is still more room for improvement. A few additions over the summer should make us capable of a promotion tilt.  Loanee Pietro Rovaglia  was the pick of the bunch, notching 27 league goals in 34 games. I've convinced Chievo to send him back on loan next season which im delighted with.

    Youth Production

    Youth Intake

2 potential 5 star players here, one dual nationality, one sammarinese only which is a positive, both with different qualities and personalities. Hopefully 1 of them can develop into a decent goalkeeper.

    Behind The Scenes

    Facilities    Finances

Not great on this front, we lose around 15k a month and every 4/5 months the board provide an injection. No facilities upgrades yet due to the lack of money

Have a serious push for promotion.

  4. QUICK UPDATE

Serie C is proving to be a tough nut to crack. I thought we signed really well in the summer. We improved most positions, even with 5 or 6 loan signings. However going into the winter break we sat 16th. I've been playing a quite defensive 4141 with a dm, 2 cms and 2 wingers. this worked well last season, but hasn't done so well this year. Decided to go to a 424 which I've used often on FM for years, and our first game back we played Livorno and pulled off a well deserved 1-0 win.  League Table after the Livorno win. As you can the league is very tight, and with as low as 10th place getting a play off spot, im still hopeful. The team is young, and improving all the time.

    2019-20 January Update

    500170920_2019JanTable.thumb.png.bd03a10a6f7fa9cca3748ab9dbb224d5.png

Extremely tight between us and Pavia at the moment. They've been top pretty much all year but as you can see with their last 5 games they've only won 2 and we've managed to capitalise and now get level with them. I dare to jinx it when I say that I think we *SHOULD* get at least playoffs this year barring an absolute collapse but I am of course hoping to go up as champions. Going to have my eyes peeled all January for a striker as 16 year old Febi has 6 goals in 20 which isn't really good enough, although he does have a knack of bagging very important goals.

Special shoutout to San Marino's own D'Addario who is once again causing absolute mayhem from right back. He has a ridiculous 8 man of the matches in 17 games from wing back and he keeps popping up with extremely vital goals or assists. In my last game I was at home vs the team bottom of the league, battered them for 90 mins but couldn't score and then in the 94th minute the hero D'Addario pops up in the box for a corner and ends up smashing it home.

Looking good. Should get play offs at least this season and hopefully join me in Serie C

    Season 1 Review Serie D/D 2018/19

    Competitions

Results 1   Results 2   League Table

An unexpected promotion. After a very strong showing in the league this season, we managed to seal 2nd place on the final day. Going into the play offs, we faced Latina in the semi finals, who we beat 1-0 in a very tight and tense game, they edged it on stats, but its the score that matters. In the final, i was optimistic until i saw we faced Reggio Audace. They topped our league, whilst doing it unbeaten. I genuinely thought we was facing another season in Serie D. I was amazed when we pulled off the biggest robbery since Man Utd beat Bayern in the UCL final. A 3-1 scoreline, doesn't tell the tale. We had 33% possession, but somehow pulled it off. Serie C here we come.

Squad   End of Season Awards   Transfers

Managed to do some great business this season. With some brilliant loan signings. and some solid free transfers. Tartaglione is already signed for another year on loan, and Servillo the striker was a good January addition. Ill be looking to develop Claudio Valentini yp19a alot more than I have this season, with him getting limited game time in our promotion push. @rycl77 Hes playing for San Marino u21's so i'm hoping hes already made hes mind up internationally.

     Finances    Facilities

Not the best season on this front, Ive played past the season update now in game, and although our finances look awful here, weve been given a 22k a week wage budget which is a massive increase. And have 75k in the bank. I havent managed to upgrade any facilities due to the finances.

    Aims For Next Season

I hate saying just to stay up, I need to see the standard of player we can sign before realistically judging what we can do. A couple of the squad should be capable of doing the business at the higher standard of football but be definitely need some improvements. Ill be looking to offer trials to every player released by a Serie A side this summer as there is usually some real gems that go unnoticed.

  7. Quick Update

My first attempt failed basically. I tried youth only and started as national team manager. It was going pretty awfully and I thought sod this, Ill start again as just the club manager and allow myself signings. And i,m currently here.....

    League Table

27 games in and were still in with a good chance of the play offs. We are not going to catch Reggio Audace, who are amazingly unbeaten still. Seeing they won the league in @rycl77 save makes me think them being so strong will be a common thing we all see.

    Youth Intake

The main reason for this mini update really, A decent start to youth intakes with one absolute gem. Claudio Valentini yp19a. Amazed to get a player of this standard in the first intake. Hes already of a standard to play for our first team, he has the dual nationality, but im more focused on the club side for the near future. He should either be a brilliant player for us, or at least move on for a decent amount in the future. I am quite happy to develop players and sell them on until i'm higher up the leagues.

@rycl77 it would appear the game likes to throw in a first season gem

It's good to see a new generation of Titani managers embracing the challenge, I want to see some real results though :D. I'll most likely start this once again when SM leagues are out (hearing the editor is pretty bugged atm hence the lack of reliable league packs) though I'm a bit disappointed that italian clubs cannot add their B teams in time (would have been a great addition for a mini-challenge eg win Serie A and Serie B in the same year using only SM players!).

I'll leave my biggest achievement from FM18 - didn't go really far with the save but managed this for the first time in my FM career:

    1180805d1538744052-fm18-post-your-succes 1180806d1538744093-fm18-post-your-succes

DUBBED THE NEW ANDY SELVA. Nuff said.

That's some player for only 3 seasons in! Shame you didn't get far into the save.

is the B team thing a guranteed no then?

    Season 4 2022-23 League 2

    SEASON PREVIEW

After our first season in League 2 ended with a decent 18th placed finish, I really wanted to push on this season. Predicted to finish 18th, I knew we could do so much better.

    COMPETITIONS    LEAGUE TABLE

Turned out to be a fantastic season for us. We started slowly, but gradually grew into a good side as the season went on. A couple of key signings in Adam Lewis and Joel Latibeaudiere on free contracts really helped us shore up a leaky defence. So much so that we went on a run of  GAMES losing just once in 20. This left the league table looking this for the Run In. we dropped 7 points in our next 3 games, tried as hard as we could to throw it away but somehow managed top seal PROMOTION to League One.

We were poor in the League Cup and League Trophy, losing in the first round and group stages. In the FA Cup we again made it to the 3rd round where we drew Arsenal away. We only made £470k from the tie though, which  was disappointing as I thought it would be more. The money still helped though and we put up a fight, losing 3-0. Still a fantastic season overall.

    SQUAD

Developed really well after Christmas, will need to strengthen for next year, but think majority of these should hold their own in league 1.  Lots of players being released this summer, most are in the reserves, which should free up a fair amount of wages.

    TRANSFERS

Really productive year for the club, losing Neil Wright had me really worried at the start of the season. But the money helped the club massively and allowed me the room to up the  wage budget and bring in a fair few upgrades. Made £880k profit on transfers this season, which is key to developing the club. Another terrible youth intake, who needs good free youngsters though right? :seagull:

    FINANCES

We managed to stay out of the red all season, which is very promising. But then our cup run aided this massively as did the sale of Neil Wright. Home attendances stayed at  the 1200 mark so hopefully that rises more next season. With some of the money from the transfer sale we improved our JUNIOR COACHING BUDGET and YOUTH RECRUITMENT but am yet to see anything from the few improvements made over the 4 seasons. Thinking I may just focus on the training facilities and worry about the first team. I have also got my Continental C coaching badge.

    Next Season

No doubt we will be favourites for the drop again, but I think we can upset the apple cart. Have been scouting all summer and there seems to be some good players out of contract and up for sale who are interested in joining us. Whether we can afford them remains to be seen.

    SEASON 2 2021/22 LEAGUE 2

     SEASON PREVIEW

This was always going to be a tough season. Dorkin's first ever season in professional football. We had the lowest wage budget in the league, at just £16k a week. And were predicted to finish bottom of the pile.

    COMPETITIONS    LEAGUE TABLE

A very up and down season, with the low budget, young squad and this being our first season in league 2 the aim was to stay up which we did pretty comfortably, finishing in 18th place. We struggled to ever find real consistency, even when on a 10 game unbeaten run, we won 5 and drew 5. Bu t we had way too many losses to teams around the bottom half of the table to ever really push higher and was around 19th-15th all season.

In the cups we managed to get to the FA Cup 3rd round for the 2nd time in 3 years, but this year falling to Burton, and never really getting that big payday the little clubs crave.

     SQUAD

We are developing pretty well, although the players values are lower than i have ever seen. This summer I really need to add abit more quality.

     TRANSFERS

Had to really rely on some loanees this season, we don't have a parent club as yet as the board don't see the point. None really stood out performance wise. Youth Intake was again disappointing, with even the highest rated player on the screenshot, now only 2 star potential ability.

     FINANCES

Not great, 0 transfer budget for the year, but do have £22k a week to spend on wages and with about £3k a week leaving this summer, have quite a lot of room for movement. However the club is losing money so need to see what i can do to help.  One good thing is come the end of the season, our home gates were up to the 1200 mark which is double last season.

    Next Seasons Aim.

Just to improve, hopefully enough to push for a play off spot. Gateshead who won the National League the same season we went up, stormed to the league 2 table this season so have now secured back to back promotions.

    Season | League | Position | FA Cup | Europe | Other

  11. Just a quick update.

    League 2 season Preview

Financially we have proven to be in a better position that I thought we would. After another summer of 100+ trials, we made some good Signings. I wasn't very positive at the start of the summer but our business has been good, still could do with a starting Cb and GK but apart from that we have a pretty well equipped Squad for a battle to stay up. The bookies still have us as favourites to go down, but I cant see why we cant push for a mid table finish at the least. First game against relegated Wimbledon has only reinforced this further, a thumping 6-1 away win. With new signing Neil Wright scoring 4 on hes debut. Signed for £9.75k he could be key to us having a successful season.

    Season 2 VNL 2020-21

    Competitions    League Table    Season Preview

In what turned out to be another fantastic season for Dorking, we managed to seal a place in the football league via the play offs. It was a weird season, with spells of great form and some terrible spells. The league was tight all season with the exception of runaway leaders Gateshead, and we were never really in the promotion hunt until the last 8 or so games. Even then we tried to throw it away with 2 0-0 draws in our last two league games. Finishing 6th I never really thought we would go up but we did. I am worried it has all come too soon as our current squad will struggle in League 2.

In the FA Cup we got to the 2nd round where we lost to Wallsall and in the FA trophy we got all the way to the final before suffering the agony of a penalty shootout loss.

    Transfers

Another summer of mass trialling and a step up in class meant it was vital to sign players. We signed a total of 22 players. Losing 2 of our starting 11 around February to bigger teams. We've also already started planning for next season, with 3 young, highly talented kids Signed for next season. The Youth Intake was once again rubbish.

     Finances And Facilities

Another good year for the club on a whole. Going up with £500k in the bank is decent, however our budgets for next season are awful. The club is growing though on a whole with upgrades to all areas of the club. Our Junior coaching and youth recruitment are up to fairly basic, we now have basic youth facilities, and are currently improving the training facilities. We have also had 2 stadium expansions. The First at the start of the season, and the Second after sealing promotion. The board also announced we are turning ProfessionalOn a personal note, I have gained my National C coaching badge

    Next Season

Even though we have gained back to back promotions, id be amazed to make it 3 in a row. With a low wage budget, low rep and a squad not good enough for League 2 (we was 6th in the VNL), its going to be a long summer trying to improve the squad on a shoestring. The only aim for next season is to stay in league 2.

    Dorking Wanderers FC 2019-20

COMPETITIONS - What a season, in the League we was predicted to finish bottom and turned the table on its head ending the season as Champions. In the cupsa real FA Cup fairy tale, where we managed to get all the way to the third round. Here we faced Newcastle away.... 8-0.... ouch. Still we earned £750k from that tie alone and around £900k from the cup run. A massive boost to the club. The FA Trophy didn't go so well as we lost to Eastleigh in the 1st round.

TRANSFERS - After trialling literally ever player released in the summer by an English club, we put together a brilliant squad at no cost at all. Plus the 1 loan signing who proved a gem.

PLAYERS -  Midfielders Sam Wilding and Kieran Lavery were excellent this season. Whilst strikers Adam CoombesAlfie Stanley and loan signing Jermaine Turner led us to the title with 70 goals between them.

YOUTH INTAKE - Nothing to mention here. literally doesn't look like anyone who could cut it next season.

CLUB - With the money from the cup run, I managed to squeeze a slight Youth Improvement  out of the board. Who so far have refused a senior affiliate and me a coaching badge course.

Next Seasons Aim: I always aim for the higher end of the table, especially in the lower leagues so will be aiming for a top 10 finish next season at least. Judging on our results in the cup against higher opposition we should be able to hold our own, and with a few additions maybe even make a run at the play offs.

A few things stood out for me in making my choice, last seasons low rating 1250, although its predicted a lot higher this season. secondly, we are predicted to finish bottom in the Season Preview, and lastly the club was only formed in 1999 and has won no honours in its 19 year existence.
