  1. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto Season 22 2044-45 BGL Ligue (Tier 1) Squad | Transfers |Facilities | Finances | Supporters Competitions: Europa League We had a good enough performance in the League Phase to qualify for the knockout stage. Unfortunately we got knocked out immediately, however it was by the eventual champions so what can you do. We have yet to win against a team in one of the other playable leagues (Belgium, Portugal France & Germany) or an English team for that matter and we got 3 this year! Cup CHAMPION! This time Swift Hesperange got knocked out by rising club Differdange 03, so we had our easiest run in years. League Champions! This year the Swift Hesperange matches were the first out the gate, which put them in the heart of heavy European Congestion. We handled it much better than they did winning the home and drawing the away. We dropped some points here and there, but Swift Hesperange dropped more for us to win with a low 78 points. We've gotten second with 80-83 points multiple years. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview Awful! Youth Intake At least the intake was better than promised, but that's not saying much. Best Prospects Poached Players We had an Attacking Mid poached by Standard, for the first one to go to Belgium. Also 2 of our 3 poached players are returning to Luxembourg with one going to a top club Una Strasen, and the other going to a yo-yo club. Best XI Also had some new records posted by players, 7 goals in a game is something... Youth Products Highlights My DLF had an amazing season winning the Europa League Golden Boot. He still hasn't switched nationalities back to Luxembourg so isn't playing during international breaks which has really helped him stay on top of his game (and not get injured). Almost hope he never returns to the national-side as the type of striker he is I can realistically play him right up to retirement. I'll highlight my whole squad next-season as its been a minute since I've posted that. Club Infrastructure We are spending our money now doing our first stadium expansion. It will max out at ~10k so we still have room to grow this small stadium. We also did another Traning Facility upgrade bringing us up to "Good". Luxembourg Swift are keeping pace with us and making Europa League group stages, which is continuing to boost the nation & league reptuation. Thoughts Excel Season 1 - 15 Excel Season 16 - 22 I've already played the next season because the summer ended with this lovely message: I haven't been able to upgrade Youth Facilities beyond "Below Average" which is just 2 upgrades from the bottom so I am stoked to get this chairman the **** out! Can we land a Domestic Tycoon in Luxembourg??
  2. This is the only way I've been able to hold onto my players in Luxembourg as otherwise they all want pitiful release clauses sometimes below their min value. I just up their base salary by 15-20% and they all have let me remove the clause completely. Works most of the time with my much worse GM, only issue is if you stack too many years on their contract he tends to fail to negotiate as he won't offer long term deals.
  3. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto Season 21 2043-44 BGL Ligue (Tier 1) Matches | Squad | Transfers |Facilities | Finances | Supporters Competitions: Europa League Shocker in the Europa League we finished dead last. Again, our bad draw-luck returned with 3 of our opponents being eventual Semi-Finalists, with one being the eventual champion: OGC Nice! Then 3 more of our opponents advances to the knockout round in the 12-15 positions. At least we got lots of Gate receipts... Swift also made the Europa League group stage and had a shocking wins against Lazio and Club Brugge to just make the knockouts, good for our Nation Ranking. Cup This year the ET did not go our way with our goal getting called back for offside. Unsurprisingly we lost the PK shootout as our best taker has 9 skill, and the rest have 7. League We were on track to win the league but week 29 we blew a 2-0 lead against the 3rd placed team to give it back to Swift Hesperange so they could record a double. Bummed to lose out to both trophies just at the finish line. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview: Not the greatest Youth Intake: Okay intake, glad to see Cape Verde players returning as I hadn't got any since I switched HOYDs. A personal goal for the save is to have at least 1 international for each country, sadly these players don't inspire hope for my CPV player. Best Prospects Best XI Poached Player Update Wolfsburg already sold-off Pol Decker (Poach 3), giving us a miniscule fee and he's just moved laterally into another Bundesliga U19 team: Youth Products Highlights I might come back and add this. Club Infrastructure I did my best to spend-wisely this year with the assumption these TV Payments will continue. With that and Continental money I did a dual Training Facility improvement as there is still no option to upgrade Youth Facilities. We did double Youth Recruitment upgrades last year, so the running costs have bumped up slightly to 130k from 100k a month for Youth Setup but that's totally manageable. Also, I've brought back our first Icon as a staff member. Ailton Junior 05j was our first decent Cape Verde player who switched to Luxembourg becoming our first U21 player. He was a standout CB and is currently in our Best XI with a 7.26 rating in his 275 Apps scoring 15 goals. Welcome back! TV Money Effect: I can't understate how massively this 2.6M TV deal is going to transform the league. In the spoiler is the screenshot of the worst team in the league who will be relegated with a $2.5M bank balance.... For Comparison we only got $781k for our Europa League TV coverage. Yes, it's basically half the matches but still the scale of this media payment will guarantee a fully Professional top-flight in Luxembourg with at least the top 4-5 in the 2nd tier going professional due to how many relegation positions there are. I'm both terrified and excited because our academy is still in its infant stage and all these teams will bring in players from the 4 other active leagues so it's not out of the question that the 'average' team will be competitive with Swift and ourselves... From this first year 3 teams went Professional: Titus Petange (3rd), Differdange 05 (5th) & Victoria Rosport (11th). I can't wait to see what kinds of players they bring in. Edit: Checkout our income for this next season oh man this is going to get spicy Luxembourg National Team While they still are pretty lowly ranked and haven't made any major tournament, the performance they just had in European Championship qualifying shows progress is being made. Notice also that they beat the USA in a friendly! Not sure, which side that says more about BGL Ligue Ranking With two teams in the Europa League Luxembourg's top flight is now ranked the 39th best league in Europe giving us the 22nd best Nation Coefficient. Still 2.5* Reputation but it's getting close to 3*. Even crazier is Swift Hesperange are on the cusp of a top 50 team in Europe currently ranked at 52 while we are at 141. Thoughts Excel Season 1 - 15 Things are getting good here in Luxembourg! Now hopefully the board will finally let me upgrade youth facilities so my talent can compete with the flood of players entering the league otherwise things will get very scary here when the board expects a title challenge...
  4. Yes you can keep all the players at the club when you start. Only exception is loan players, you can't extend their loan / bring them to the club as a transfer at the end of the loan (even if the clause exists in the contract). All incoming transfers are forbidden, you just are able to sign players that come through the yearly intake of your club's academy. Welcome to the club!
  5. So something happened that I've never experienced before. Luxembourg starts with literally 0 TV deals, which is logical considering the level of football in the country. For the first 20 seasons that never changed. However, when the new season started this happened: Maybe the edited database had a $0 TV deal for 20 seasons? Or maybe by reaching 2.5* Reputation league it triggers the game to add a TV deal? This kind of crazy jump was a very pleasant shock. What has been increasing naturally with the increase in stature of the league is the prize money for both the league and cup, which is a reasonable amount for a tiny league and seriously dwarfed by this TV deal. For the cup we got $402k in total as winners, which is about the same as we got for 2nd place finish in the league. Interestingly we are lagging behind a lesser club in Sponsorship income (they were 7-4 for the past 10 years), but again these are all relatively reasonable Assuming this broadcast revenue is shared somewhat evenly (unsure where I can see that?) I fully expect to see the top half of the league turn professional over the next few years, which will be exciting to keep the challenge up! Again, I never expected this level of a domestic league development when i started this save. I thought it would be like Malta where even with a Tycoon takeover no team could maintain professional status / continually bring in good players.
  6. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto Season 20 2042-43 BGL Ligue (Tier 1) Matches | Squad | Transfers |Facilities | Finances | Supporters Competitions: Conference League In the make our break season we did it and qualified for the Group Stage! Compared to our previous bad-luck of Benfica and Notingham Forest the last two years having Hadjuk made this our easiest draw since we won the league 5 years ago. We made it count with a decisive 4-2 victory in the home first leg. Then we put on the breaks and held them to just 1 goal in Croatia to advance. Next we had Kalmar (Sweden), who were difficult, but my offense delivered to help us win both legs. With the way our league is, I could easily prioritize continental matches, and play my stars just enough domestically to keep them happy. We played fantastic in the group stage all things considered. We started off with two wins and a draw with the 2-1 victory of St Gallen being pretty spectacular considering my star Striker was injured. With him out for the next 4 group matches going 1-1-2 was great, and sufficient to qualify for knockouts at 15/36! In great news for LUX Swift Hesperange also was fantastic this season finishing 9/36 to advance as well. In the knockouts we continued to get favorable draws including a couple of rematches. First we had Hammarby IF (Sweden) who we drew 1-1 in the league phase. While we lost 1-2 in Sweden, we came back in Luxembourg with a 2-0 win to advance! Then with Hungarian Kisvarda it was the reverse where we held onto our 3-1 win at home in the away fixture to advance with just the 1 GD again. In the Quarter Finals we faced a surprisingly strong Albanian side KF Tirana. We lost to them in the group stage and were soundly defeated here. Cup Back-to-back trophies for us, with the win being an ET victory over Swift. very late offensive subs saw my quick (but terribly skilled) backups wreak havoc on their dead-tired defense. And the best news, is this year this gets us Europa League Qualification! League With Europe I had to play lots of rotated squads and that meant 1.5-2* players vs my normal 3-4* so we dropped plenty of points, but still retained our 2nd place position. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview Much better Youth Intake Definitely moving in the right direction with this intake with four Elite 5* prospects, one of whom looks very promising. Best Prospects Poached Players Our final Poached player appeared and he's a third Center back. No wonder I was having real trouble developing one until just now. He generates with a lot of 10-12 attributes, so at such a good club he could develop well. Showing updates on the other 2 as well. No senior starts, but Carlo Clement is well on his way to at least playing somwhere on loan, maybe at a lower Bundesliga club. Best XI Youth Products Highlights Our GK has gotten the call-up to the Portugal U21 for the U21 European Championships as their backup GK. Maybe he will get a match? It's his last year of eligibility. The newest player to get Portuguese attention is our young CB Joao Valente 18e who is developing fantasticly. Here is the March callup-sheet where we are seeing a good representation with Luxembourg with our CB/DM Miguel Ribeiro 11g seeing his first CAP since gaining LUX nationality. Club Infrastructure Season objective as achieved: recover Professional status! Even with all the money, we still don't have the option to increase Youth Facilities which is frustrating as they are still just Below Average. Instead of doing training facilities I decided to do a double increase in Youth Recruitment, so will have higher running costs but will keep our little hoard together. I don't want to risk going Semi-Pro again. Thoughts Excel Season 1 - 15 I've saved the save! It doesn't show, but the vast majority of my starting XI contracts are set to expire in 2044 and without Full-Time status most wouldn't re-sign to a part-time contract. Had I not made the profit this year the team would have imploded. Hopefully with Europa League group stage qualification is slightly more consistent so we can build our treasure-trove and begin to challenge for the domestic title. Our 'old' players are still only 25 as they've been starting since they were 16, so there is plenty of time left before anyone will need to be replaced.
  7. Bummer to see your journey end. The boards this year are really cruel when you get relegated after a promotion even if the bookmakers odds say you'll go down.
  8. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto Season 19 2041-42 BGL Ligue (Tier 1) Matches | Squad | Transfers |Facilities | Finances | Supporters Competitions: Conference League: League Path 4th Qualifying Round First three matches went great and then we drew: Benfica, our first test against Portuguese opposition. The home match was an unmitigated disaster where our defense collapsed in the second half and we lost 5-0. With qualification lost, we went to Portugal to play for our pride and managed to pull off a 2-2 draw. I know they were complacent due to the Agg score, but I still count this as a success for us. Especially considering this: Cup We did it, we beat Swift finally and get our 4th Cup Trophy League Second best again. We actually had trouble with a new team Differdange who we drew and lost to this season. How did we do against Swift? So how good are they? This year they qualified for the Conference League Group stage and finished 10/36 with wins against Malmo (Sweeden), Astana (Kazakstan), and a big win against Konyaspor (Turkey). Easily knocked out by Feynoord, but still this is a no joke team. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview New HOYD, so not surprised how awful this is Youth Intake Preview was accurate as we had no elite talents... Best Prospects Only a couple worth showing Best XI Youth Products Highlights We have 3 young defenders looking pretty good as well as our LM. There are also other rotational CBs and CMs that are developing decently, but the squad is still very much the Starting XI and then the rest. Edit: Among these is our RB who is our first Cape Verde Youth International! U23 & U20 call-ups. Poached Player Our second poached player has arrived and is another CB, but even with my limited knowledge doesn't look that exciting. Club Infrastructure It happened at the end of the season, our loss went so big that we have reverted back to Semi-Pro... I had a loss of 600k this year, which is 300k less than last year but we've bled through all our stores and our cheap owners refused to put even $1 into the club. Coaching Badges We finished our final coaching badge: Thoughts Excel Season 1 - 15 No getting around that this is bad we are going back to semi-professional. The question now is what to do about our financial situation and if I can salvage the save. We really need group stage money. I played till June 15th before posting because I wanted to see where LUX coefficient would be. Thanks to Swift's group stage performance Lux is up to 32! And that missing place now moves into Europa League. The bad news is, this is 2 seasons from now so I have to survive another cycle like what we just had and hope that the FM Gods don't decide to deliver me an impossible opponent in the qualification phase and I can hold onto my team.
  9. Yeah #6 at just 17 means everyone will want this guy. hope you can get a good percentage profit clause in the sale
  10. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto Season 18 2040-41 BGL Ligue (Tier 1) Matches | Squad | Transfers |Facilities | Supporters Competitions: We all know some years you're lucky and some years you're not. Sadly, this year we were not but I've been using it to start to develop alternative tactics and get some new youngsters into the starting XI and have seen some good development in attributes if not in progress on the pitch. Conference League Here we were super unlucky to draw Nottingham Forest in the 3rd QF. Naturally, they made it to the Quarter Finals so to keep the scores respectable is a big achievement, but sadly not a profitable one. Cup We've all seen this before: Defeat to Swift Hesperange in the Final to a sold-out crowd at the national stadium (9.1k seats). We've been to 7 finals now and have won 3 of them, but only 1 was against Swift Hesperange. In this year's final we gave up 2 set piece goals and 1 counter goal, so even if we dominated the run of play our forwards just couldn't make the chances we got count. Our goal came when I moved our BBM up to striker and he did a lot better than our tried-and-true Joao Pedro 10c. League The title comes down to how we can do head-to-head against Swift. This year we couldn't clentch the win in either match even with Swfit getting a red-card in both matches. The first match it was our defense that let us down in a 4-3 loss. To be fair both FBs were very young (16 & 17). As you can see pushing at the end of the game didn't materialize any chances. The second match though came during an injury crisis where we were basically out of strikers and our BBM did not do well at all up top with a 6.0 rating. We are getting close though with us not being handidly out-played in the fixtures. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview Youth Intake We had a very poor intake this year especially from a personality perspective. At least we have good youth coaches now so maybe some will develop though the normal pathway. Best Prospects HOYD & U21 Coaches Switchover Over the summer I gutted my youth coaches (who all had bad personalities) and replaced them with recently retired Italian players who were all fairly professional and one French/Cape Verde Professional as my U21 AssMan. For the U21 Head Coach I spent more to bring in a Resolute German. Downside to this is they have no Luxembourg knowledge, which I think will negatively impact the intakes for a few years. I decided to wait to change over the HOYD to give him one final season, but after this intake his time had come, so my trainee has now moved to his preferred roll, and at least he's Luxembourgish and will finish his final coaching badge soon. Best XI Poached Player Another poached player this time Wolfsburg. Carlo Clement (POACH 1) is developing well at SV Werder playing in their youth team and making 8 U21 appearances for LUX. Not a bad CB worth upwards of 1.4M now. Youth Products Highlights Our BBM Nelson Graca 15c decided not to wait on Cape Verde and has fully committed to Luxembourg. He had a memorable first CAP where he broke his arm tackling an Aberjhani player, but he's recovered and made 8 appearances this year playing as their CAM (his initial position) I've also retrained my Captain to DM now that he's locked into a professional deal and he's actually playing for LUX as he's been in the team for a few years now, but always rode the bench. We have gotten another Portugal Youth Player, the best LM from 2 intakes ago. He doesn't have LUX second nationality, so very promising he got to play internationally at least a couple of times. He's now angry and wants more money, but we have him for 2 more years and have a 3 year extension available so I'm waiting on giving him his (deserved) pay bump: Transfers: So Swift Hesperange finally were able to steal Marcelo Miguel 14h from me. Basically, since he generated they've wanted him, but I was able to fight off their bids. This year the board overruled me and accepted a reasonable 275k +40% bid. However, I still had the contract extension so I triggered it to keep my rotation striker around. Deadline day came and they said nah we still want him and put in a 325k straight bid. No option to challenge it so I had to watch him leave. To be fair we need the money more than him even if it leaves us exposed depth-wise at Striker, we at least got the max value out of him as I don't see him ever developing into a continental talent. Club Infrastructure & Finances Nothing because we lost 812k this year. Basically, there isn't enough domestic dollars to break even without Continental Group Stage pay. Our last season taxable loss was 1.1M (450k was taxes for the previous year) and this year was 523k, so even with Miguel 14h transfer we at least had a slightly better balance than last year. We have 2 more years of debt payments left and then we will have 190k less in expenditures. It's make-or-break next season financially... Coaching Badges I finally started the Continental Pro, but still have a few months to go. I Hit 600 matches this season! Thoughts Excel Season 1 - 15 Man I want to win the league so bad! Being as I like having it difficult, this is keeping me interested in the challenge of this save. Thankfully its not just me recognizing that this LUX league is way better than it should be, Europe is noticing and our European Coeficient last year jumped to 34! This is almost good enough to bump the 2nd place team into Europa League Qualifiers instead of Conference League. We just have to move up 2 more spots and oust Iceland to get them. Sadly, with none of our teams making into group stages this season we will not be moving upwards. But if both Swift and us make it next year... A guy can dream!
  11. To find free agents to bring in on trial for the semi-pro clubs in luxembourg to sign. If we don't make the group stage next year I'll cut most to save money. I probably only need 2-3.
  12. Pretty bad if I'm being honest, but lots are on super cheap contracts, so while I'll swap out expensive ones for better personalities I'll be stuck with a lot of these until we can regularly beat Swift Hessperange. Now that we are professional we have the young talent to get there as long as I can keep my players. And yes, I am on a $0 contract. The DB/Club is bugged and neither myself or the U21 head coach can ever get a p/w contract.
  13. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto 2040 World of Football Luxembourg BGL Ligue: If you look at the Season Preview (at the end of the season) you can see its all Swift and my ASL Porto players. In the key players theirs only one worth highlighting, the rest are all middling at best. League Rank: Starts in the low 80's and until the past couple of seasons stayed there jumping up to 75, then 71 and now: Best 3 AI Teams: #1 Swift Hesperange: I honestly didn't expect the AI to put together a squad strong enough to make it to the Conference League Round of 16. This team isn't a legacy powerhouse like TNS, they just happened to make the right transfers to takeover the league from teams like Una Strassen who couldn't manage to stay dominant. While the AI has made a few dumb transfers here and there they have invested the funds well into the club doing 3 Training & Youth Facility upgrades as well as are building the biggest stadium in the country (9,415) that will be done in another year. To their credit they got knocked-out by the Runner-up to the Conference League (more on that later). In the spoiler you can see the star players they have brought in from Europe & Africa to give me a real challenge in this save Of their most used / best players there is just one who came through their youth academy and another two they took from other LUX sides. For Luxembourg these are some decent players and with the nations loaded that I have they are able to find the vast majority of these players on Free Transfers. #3 Una Strassen: Sadly their second era of competitiveness is ending this year with the departure of their star Gibraltarian Striker. They won the league from 2028-2030 and have finished top 3 since then, yet for whatever reason they never invested the money into facilities and only recently increased their statdium from 2k to 4k. The only reason they have been able to keep up is due to my bringing in free-agents on trial so the AI clubs will sign foreign players. Basically any non-LUX players you see in these teams is due to my trialing. Without my intervention esentially none of these foreign stars would be in the squad. Foreign Stars: Best Domestic Talents: They do have a decent 18 year old striker, but that's their only young domestic talent. The other reasonably good LUX developed player is a well traveled AP. #3 FC Differdange 03 - This is a legacy top-flight squad, but never really a title contender, so just wanted to show their squad for what the 'mid-range' teams look like where you can see lots of domestic players with a few random foreigners they've picked up from my trials. The best is their winter acquisition of an Albanian winger, but really their domestic players are what brought them up this season. Active Domestic Leagues of Europe: Germany Be honest, you didn't guess Leverkusen! They have done very well with lots of 3rd place finishes as well as the DFB Pokal in 2035. Sadly nothing at the continental level for them. France Not sure what happened in 2029 & 2030 for AS Monaco to overtake PSG two years running. Otherwise its the dominance you expect here. Belgium Portugal FC Porto had a good run for most of the save but Sporting have become the current dominant force. Not Benfica seem to have had some serious debt problems and still are caring -20M, which is lower than a peak beyond the 80M. European Club Competitions: Champions League No real surprises here. Even without England, Spain or Italy loaded they have done perfectly well. Europa League You start to see Portugal clubs making an impact here as well as some of the non-PSG french clubs. Importantly for my save FC Porto won it in 2024. Shame that even with Belgium loaded from the start none have made a final. Way to go Rangers! Conference League Just my luck, my one year in this competition drew me with the eventual champions. Also now the Belgian clubs are appearing. You can see that AA Gent who knocked out Swift this year just lost to Tottenham making it 3 finals defeats for them this save. Though Anderlecht and Antwerp have made their mark. Here the big point is that FC Porto won it in 2038, so we have to win the Europa League and Conference League to be on equal terms with Porto. International Competitions: Euros: Regular winners, but good on Poland and Turkey for finalists. AFCON Cape Verde are on fire right now with two runners up! I'll highlight the nation later. World Cup USA Runners-Up in 2030 I Believe!! AS Luxo Porto Nations: Portugal: Shocker they are amazing Luxembourg: Pretty disappointing performance from Luxembourg. My RM is the 4th best player and the only one developed in Luxembourg on the list. 2 are developed in Germany, 1 in Portugal and the other 2 are naturalized from their time at Una Strassen where one still plays. Cape Verde: Naturally when you load Portugal for this long and they are a top 5 ranked country Cape Verde will get a boost, but this is surprising to get up to #47! They are starting WCQ now so maybe they will make their first World Cup! Naturally the vast majority of the squad plays in Portugal but one is at Swift.
  14. A.S. Luxembourgo Porto Season 17 2039-40 BGL Ligue (Tier 1) Intro & Club | Season 1 | Season 2 | Season 3 | Season 4 | Season 5 | Season 6 |Season 7 |Season 8 | Season 9 | Season 10 | Season 11 | Season 12 | Season 13 | Season 14 |Season 15 | Season 16 | Squad | Transfers |Facilities | Finances | Supporters Competitions: Conference League Missing out on the title we had the long-road of trying to make it into the Conference League group stage. While our first draw was kind, we did amazingly well to beat Polish Lech 2-0 across both legs. Against Danish FC M. we got really unlucky in the Away match conceding a late penalty to draw 2-2 then sadly didn't show up when they came to Luxembourg. Granted they are a way better team than us and at this point in the season we only had part of the team training professionally. Cup Without European matches and Professional status we didn't have any trouble working our way to the final where, yet again, we meet with our nemesis Swift Hesperange. We got very unlucky here where my striker ran into the way of a goal from my RM from an offside position negating what would have been the winning goal in regulation. In ET they brought on a late pacy striker who punished my dead-tired defenders. League Well good news is we had the best campaign of the save recording a record of 83 points in 30 matches. Sadly, Swift Hesperange did just 1 point better with 84 so no trophy for us. I really can't complain too much though as we failed to beat them any of the 3 times we faced them. Drew 0-0 at home early in the season, lost 0-3 away in the second half of the season and you can see the cup final above. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview Youth Intake Awful personalities this year with generally weaker talent. Have to expect a down year once in a while, we only took 6. Best Prospects HOYD & Youth Staff While I won't be changing my HOYD (as he's done so awesome this save) I've hired what could be his replacement as a first team coach. I'll be looking to totally upgrade my youth coaches personality-wise as well as many other backroom staff I can to finally begin to pivot towards professionalism. Till this point it's literally just been whatever's available and not awful. Now Germans are willing to come work here so options are finally available. Best XI So I think you could say I have a pretty good strike partnership leading the line when the 'low-scoring' striker has 47 goals... Youth Products Highlights Up to 14 call-ups in a window including my staring GK getting promoted to the Portugal U20's with him and my backup (again out on loan in Portugal 4th Tier) being the starting GKs. I haven't been able to get my DoF to start a contract negotiation with my backup GK so he's still on a Part-Time contract, which is sadly hindering his development. A couple years ago our Star Striker decided he was too good for Luxembourg's national team and after 4 CAPs switched his nationality to Portugal. He's over 21 now and he never got a youth callup, but now the Portugal boss is taking interest. So far he hasn't bitten but Fabio Algarvio 11a is great and steadily improving so who knows. Best news being I finally got the DoF to start a contract negotiation so I can sign him onto a Full-Time contract without a release clause! He's expensive but worth it. We also have a new LUX national team player who is our LB/CB. Got his first CAP saving LUX from Nation League relegation by beating Malta Club Infrastructure We just tried to stem the financial damage this year having to pay taxes for last season (477k) the 3rd to last payment on our stadium debt (190k), large stadium Maintenace fees (330k) and our immense Youth Setup cost (1.2M). This totaled a loss of 1.4M for the season w/o Coaching Badges Nothing again. Here is my coach who is basically maxed out at this point: Thoughts As one of the two professional clubs in the nation it is becoming a two-man race at the top with the other European Places teams trying to hold on for dear life. Differdange and Una Strassen were both able to draw with Swift Hesperange for their home fixture, so there is hope for another title if I can actually beat them head-to-head. I'll showcase these squads in an additional post after this one where I'll also summarize the World of Football in 2040. Couple of surprises including Bayern not winning the Bundesliga last season and you'll never guess who took the title from them! Excel Season 1 - 15: I track a lot more than I post on here, so this has the full table I use for season datapoints.
  15. A.S. I save the game about every month (manually), but it just so happens end of November - December had 3 Conference League fixtures. First Away Shalke, which we lost; Second Away at AIK where we pulled off a huge 3-2 comeback victory; and Third home against St Patricks (Ireland) where again we came from behind to win recording a 3-1 finish. Just as I'm cheer at our 18 year old LM's 80 & 83' min goals off the bench the game CTDs when trying to load the game summary screen. With these two wins we had 9 points having won an earlier match and qualified for the knockouts. So what happened when I had to replay these fixtures? We went 0-1-2 and bowed out ranking 30/36 in the league missing out on over 1M in prize money in the process. The match away at Shalke (who topped the entire league) was insane as we lost 5-3. Cup We were dreadful this year losing to a lower-league side in the Fourth Round. We just didn't have the depth to do all the matches and our B team weren't good enough. League No surprise we were second best to Swift due to having to rotate for league matches as I was trying for prize money in Europe. Hey in an alternate universe it was worth it! Anyways, they crushed the league to record their 7th title in 9 years. Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview With the crash I got a new YI Preview from my original one. I have to say it is substantially better, so I guess I traded current season success for potential future talent. Only time will tell if this was a good trade. Youth Intake Well this intake does soften the blow of the lost Europe run. My HOYD really likes to stack positions. 2037 GK Year, 2038 CAM Year and now for 2039 we have a Winger year with 4 of our 5 best prospects playing on one of the wings. Best Prospects Best XI Poached Players We had our second player Poached, this time to France, and our first Poached player Carlo Clement showed up in Germany. Interesting to note he doesn't get the special treatment of Portuguese nationalities, just is a regular old LUX kid who gets German nationality. Youth Products Highlights Star Players: As I kept playing after this season here are snapshots of the star players to showcase the end of their Part Time development. My GK Paulo Dias 14c is the first official Portugal Youth National Team player as he was the #1 GK for the U19 squad! By the summer my second GK who is out on loan in the Portugues Championship (Tier 4) got called up as well and they alternated starts. We have a new record of players in the Luxembourg Youth Squads and a couple in the Main squad now. Only Eimido D'Avila 10b is getting CAPs though as the other two constantly get called up but never play. Wish they got demoted to the U21 to get international game experience. Also, I think its clear Joao Pedro 10c did well in Europe this year: Club Infrastructure Even without the extra prize money we made enough to upgrade both the Training and Youth Facilities as well as for me to risk boosting Youth Recruitment. I still am not going to touch JR Coaching as the budget will be strained as it is if we fail to quailfy for the Conference league Group Stage. Also with our work in Europe and going Professional in the summer we hit 2* Reputation! Coaching Badges Didn't get any, but I did receive my first job offer outside of LUX to manage Circle Brugge Thoughts A great way to cap off our Semi-Professional journey with a respectable showing in Europe (after the crash) and lots of upgrades to show for it. After this season I kept playing as going Professional is exciting to start shaping up this club and finally hiring useful staff members. We've done a ton this save with the very minimal backroom talent Luxembourg produces.
  16. At least this one is 40%. I expect you'll be able to buy these out pretty early as well if you want to, though there's a reasonable chance these guys could develop enough to be picked up by foreign clubs. Do you have most of the top 5 leagues loaded?
  17. Different experience for you compared to your usual nations, downside of picking a country with such high reputation top clubs. At least it means your producing good players
  18. Brutal luck on the board, is your club that much in debt that any offer is too good?
  19. I've been using a Very Loyal HOYD in LUX and while the personalities are poor its hard to argue he hasn't found excellent talent for how bad our facilities are and the nation we play in. The two negatives I see with your current hoyd @Sn00gle is his reputation and his tactical style. For the level you are at now you should be able to attract 1.5-2 star rep hoyds or higher. I have a strong suspicion that the reputation is hindering his ability to secure top level talent in your country because his attributes and scouting are excellent. I would choose based on tactical style over formation as you can always retrain positions, but cant change the archetype of players you are continually given. Your current HOYD has Park the bus which will tend to generate big defensive players and have less speed and attacking talent (i believe). I've never liked that on my HOYD. Last point I'd avoid a low Working With Youngsters. Again at the stage you are at you have the pick of the nation on who to hire, so no reason to risk it.
  20. This happened to me in Luxembourg as well, was a first for me. Mad props topping Belgium and you've gotten one of those absurd Belgian intake players I see. Future looks bright!
  21. Mbappe don't steal my player! He couldn't cut it at FC Nantes in France so he's moved on to Portugal.
  22. I think I've earned it after 15 seasons lol. Comes at a perfect time in the development of my players with my first Golden Generation all 20-21 and my last 2 intakes starting a new GG.
  23. Will be great for boosting your Nation Coefficient for European positions and giving you a stronger domestic league, which should develop your players more. Just hope they prioritize players outside of the country instead of stealing your most talented youngsters with their infinitely deep pockets.
  24. You hit the answer at the end, basically you need to go professional till that will begin to really improve. I'm having similar low technical development here in Luxembourg. I have noticed that the technicals will go down if the position focus doesn't directly improve them. Big here are finishing and Defending, so if you want your winger to shoot I'd train as an Inside Forward even if you don't play it. I use RM instead, so my guy has been training as a Winger his whole career and you can see his finishing dropping basically 1 point a year. For CMs Box to Box is helping my CM as it covers the most attributes, but again notice how his finishing and crossing plumet, that's because he trained on CM(S) for the first couple years and is only now getting those back with BBM focus. Here are screenshots of my star players who are all 20-21 and are the best players developing:
