  1. Cheers. I'm going to settle in to some career-type saves at this point so will hopefully contribute to the stories/challenges section with my DBs a bit more going forward, anyone else is welcome to do the same! This thread works too. Nice to see if people are getting through multiple seasons with this stuff. If I don't get FM24 right out the gate then I encourage anyone willing to open up both editors and just copy all of my structures change-for-change, I can answer any questions that arise. Mind you, I doubt anyone's willing to do that, which shows the amount of work involved in properly moving everything over
  2. Can't say without seeing the FM24 editor. For example, they might have new attributes or entries (they almost certainly will somewhere) that weren't present in FM22, so they'd be blank or default in FM24. As for Messi, this might help - think of an edited DB as a list of changes. When you make a change to Messi, look at the "changes" at the bottom left and you can see how the game treats these - when you start a new game, it loads the default FM db (whether Messi is at PSG or Inter Miami), and then it loads all the changes from the edited DBs you've selected. A "change" that edits Messi's club to be "Man Utd" is not dependent on whatever the previous entry was. Make sense? The game is going to apply that edited change regardless if the default DB has him at PSG or Accrington Stanley. This might backfire in areas where they've refined data. Like, let's say a club's attendance was off by a few thousand, so you set a different number. In FM24, they might have refined that to an exact number in the default DB which is more accurate than your guesswork, but you've already got an instruction telling it to "change" that to your guessed number
  3. Yeah that looks promising, hard to come in as an outsider and diagnose such a detailed DB (although @Wolf_pd is damn good at that) but if it works in basic then hopefully it just needs a few tweaks in advanced (I can help with that)
  4. Guessing it's a combination of reputation (competition and team rep being too low or too high for those staff), budget, and/or contract types (for the competition as a whole, or for each team)
  5. Records that don't exist in the new DB I guess. Anything from people who have been removed, to competitions (although they tend to just set those as extinct rather than remove them), even stage names and awards. Impossible to say without seeing your DB, that's why people speak so generally about it. The only way to check compatibility completely would be to review every single change and competition edit
  6. Merging rules seems like a disaster waiting to happen, but I don't know much about that. I think if you go back to basic it should strip away whatever advanced-only changes you've made, but again not too sure. You can copy and paste a competition format into a new saved DB if you want to go that route as well
  7. @Roy Race 9 "Team" only comes up as an option with the "maximum players aged 21+..." and "aged 23+" settings. That's why when you picked Man City above, it stayed blank. "Team" is only there for the latter two options, so as of FM23 you can only restrict those transfer rules to one team, everything else just lets you limit it to a competition
  8. This is only an issue in the basic rules? Just switch to advanced, remove the "nations" from the continental rules (this is what causes the issue), and then in the tournament itself use "get best teams from division" from the countries you want
  9. I'm lost as to what the actual issue is now . Advanced editor is actually intuitive as hell, the problem is you'd have to be a computer to properly intuit a lot of the functions, lol. But truthfully, 75%+ of the "bugs" people report with the PGE are just misunderstanding or missing certain functions (doesn't help when the SI staff who respond don't know either). From those last 2 errors, I'd say the relegation playoff was missing one team because it was drawing before the lower division playoff was actually complete (so put the lower division and the stage number for that playoff in the "requirements" of the relegation playoff) Then the 11 of 12 teams thing is probably the second season? So it didn't relegate or promote a team it was supposed to. I wonder if you're "fixing" errors by just causing more elsewhere. Might be worth starting fresh with advanced and talking over some of the changes here
  10. Copa América set to draw the groups in December IRL, before the playoff winners are known: So I've updated it to act like the Gold Cup in the screenshot above, i.e. do the draw and show the groups but with a reserved spot for the playoff winners (until they're known)
  11. Oh weird, I asked because I was wondering how the game would use that. Try dropping it and just qualifying the teams for a playoff (which is its own stage in the parent comp), then those teams qualify for a pro/rel playoff which can be a separate stage in the parent comp (or the one that's relegating teams. Doesn't really matter). The pro/rel playoff will need, under "requirements", the previous playoff (obviously) and will need that setting "get teams from other division" or whatever it is, if you check my Qatar file I have a pro/rel playoff that seems to work in a far simpler setup but should still translate
  12. Playoff should be under the parent comp, that seems to be how most default comps do it. What made you use that other league stage setting in the first place?
  13. Turns out loading everyone from West Africa meant Senegal U20s had a big enough pool to hire from and didn't need me, lol. Will try a new starting setup maybe
  14. Thank you!! There's so much about it that just works. The schedules fall into line already. The fact that the best 4 runners-up advance, leaving 8 runners-up, and this perfectly matches the old 8 third place teams that dropped to Copa Sudamericana. The fact that Inter Miami (Leagues Cup winner) would qualify for 2024 in my file, which was one of the rumoured invitees for obvious reasons. Right now, if a CONCACAF team wins, it opens up another spot (the game must automatically assign an extra spot to Brazil if, say, Flamengo win) and won't draw if it's not filled. So, I have that being occupied by the Campeones Cup winner (if they haven't already qualified), or the best loser in the CONCACAF qualifying round (only in years following a CONCACAF victory). This extra CONCACAF team doesn't appear in the CCL last 16 league stage in those years, I might make it 17 teams in those years (kinda like it now though) EDIT: Just realized you may have been talking about the CONCACAF fix and not the Copa Libertadores but the above still stands, anyone playing the Libertadores file may have noticed the extra team in those years
  15. I just started one in August 2022 (Qatar preseason), and noticed the Senegal U20 job was available ahead of the WAFU Zone A U20s. To make sure my opponents aren't using greyed out players, I restarted and included all West African players in my starting setup, now it's close to 90,000+ people but still seems to run fine. Will give that a go and start the international journeyman save as well... hopefully graduate to a job at one of the senior tournaments, like the Gulf Cup, COSAFA Cup, OFC Nations or something like that. Or a Middle East club job to make some cash in the interim, lol, I made sure my Gulf leagues are all in there
  16. Wow, another blast from the past that came up while searching something unrelated: Just took me the 13 odd years to get around to it... can't say I've accomplished too much else in the intervening period
  17. BTW @Vakama2619 guessing you've been loading everyone from Oceania when you do a NZ game? It shouldn't be so many people that it slows you down, but might help a tiny bit with making the O-League (and internationals) a bit more competitive?
  18. OK, I don't think you need that setting under "other stage rules," or at least I'm unfamiliar with that usage of it. Why would the III Liga Ida be needing any fixtures from the stage of a tier above? I think it's looking for those games and not finding any so it's not finishing. I'd just set up the playoffs and then the further pro/rel playoff under the III Liga itself (the parent comp)
  19. Island Games are still linked in the OP, it also has the Skipton Cup between Guernsey FC and Isle of Man which goes perfectly with lionel messi's England level 10 database here. Many of the clubs you're thinking of would have varying levels of involvement with their Island Games team, so a club tournament is unlikely, but an interesting thought experiment for sure. Keep in mind, that file is incompatible with a few of my DBs (all the info is there), so maybe not consistent with your 300+ group of active databases I think for the South American games I made it semi-random based on who has been involved the most, plus a slim chance of the "North American" teams in ODESUR like Panama and Aruba getting in. I'd guess CONMEBOL runs the football tournament there so that might not actually happen IRL unless they hosted.
  20. I've used "regions" for cup draws before and they seem to split by east-west, although I'd need to test that further. 4 regions for quarterfinals mean everyone just gets their closest rival, the Canadian Championship was doing that for a year or two to save on travel costs. 2 regions would mean each region (of 4 teams) would then draw according to whatever other instructions you give it IIRC. Not as helpful for a group stage draw like above though
  21. @Vakama2619 and actually I just added them to the main files now (without "EXPANDED" at the end), both of those files have a bit of speculation involved with future versions so why not include these changes. Easier to deal with without all these DBs clogging up your folder. You can delete the EXPANDED ones and just keep "Arab and African Club Cups" and "Russian Clubs in Asian Champions League" if you've got the latest versions off Steam or Mediafire.
