[FM23] IRELAND REIMAGINED v2.1.4
themodelcitizen replied to TheDynamoFM's topic in Editors Hideaway Download Forum FM23
Sounds like an issue with ranking levels. From a quick look I'd get rid of "highest" and "lowest" for teams finishing their tournament, even if it's set to the same as "current" the game seems to think you're still alive if there's values provided there. More unsolicited advice but with the multiple stages you might want to fill out ranking levels for the league stage too, and then for the overall comp set "ranking level info." This will force the otherwise thick game logic/your Board to understand what's happening at each stage -
Was addressing this I may have misunderstood the question, what did you mean by attributes not being applied properly?
-
I believe that if a player's Current Ability isn't high enough to support what his attributes have been set at (or low enough), the game will adjust accordingly. CA is king, so to speak. Not sure if 0s are given a random attribute or adjusted depending on other attributes.

Tutorial - How to Create Ethnic/Expatriate Teams in FM
themodelcitizen replied to Sambamtime's topic in Editors Hideaway
Fascinating, thanks for sharing. My current theory is that some countries have a namepool/newgen pool that's locked to draw from a certain region, possibly even different cities in the same country, or drawn randomly from special pools (the "nations" SEA Chinese, Malay Indian etc may fulfill these roles in Southeast Asia). This was likely deemed expedient at one point due to countries sharing enough characteristics to have a shared name or newgen pool - might be consistent with Costa Rica drawing from a generic Central American pool, and there's a Southern African pool, etc. Meanwhile, Iran and Cambodia would have such unique names that they need their own name pools, which might be more malleable to editing. -
fixture rules not saving?
themodelcitizen replied to \'Appy \'Ammer's topic in Advanced Rules Editing
The extinct thing might have to do with other hard-coded competitions having them as a dependency? I have noticed that before but just figured it was a failed change -
Updated with the alternate version. I've only changed "based nation" to Catalunya for UE Olot, not Barcelona or anything as I'm still not entirely sure what this does for newgens - i.e. will Catalunya's youth rating be relevant instead of Spain for them? Having the Catalan cities in "Spain" but a Catalunya-based local region is enough for Barcelona, Mallorca etc to produce dual nationals and shouldn't affect anything else

fixture rules not saving?
themodelcitizen replied to \'Appy \'Ammer's topic in Advanced Rules Editing
Can you paste another competition's fixture rules in there? Sometimes it's weird with being unable to switch from fixture rules or dates sometimes but there might be a workaround. Is this related to the issue from previous versions where the game has default fixture rules for some competitions that we can't touch? Like, there's already a fixture rules 0 hidden somewhere, and maybe more. Sometimes your new "fixture rules 0" is actually like "fixture rules 5" in-game -
Starting Team Cohesion for Created Clubs
themodelcitizen replied to McByrnes's topic in Editors Hideaway
I think non-player history is automatically generated when you manually change someone's club, isn't it? So maybe that's throwing things off adding it manually. Unlikely though, it's mostly wishful thinking on my part tbh, it sounds like we might be screwed. I remember having the same issue with my 70s NASL database but I thought the "date joined" and "last contract signed" type entries helped with it -
Just realized we might only be able to do it with Spanish-Catalans, that seemed to be how Bermuda Hogges was working with nation/based nation both needing to be satisfied in past games. I'll test it a few different ways I think they were promoted to tier 4 this season so they're actually playable now. Perfect for us... EDIT - Here we go: Looks like you'll be limited to Spanish/Catalan dual nationals, not ideal but they don't actually have any French or Andorran Catalans now anyway. They do have Valencian and Balearic players so I've added the relevant cities (and the Catalan towns in Murcia) to the second nationality. I would load everyone from Spain and Andorra, and maybe even Italy and France. You can search for players with "nationality" "partially" Catalan and it shows you transfer targets. If you're using kits or other graphics for UE Olot, you can change the filename and the "config" files in notepad from the old unique ID (67128589) in to the new ID (72004402).

Wow, can't check til I'm home later, but is that already reflected in game? If not I'm going to make them extinct and build a new phoenix club out of the old Bermuda Hogges to enforce that transfer rule. That could be a really fun save. Anyone know if they would extend that to Andorrans, Balearic players, Valencians, and Sardinians from Alghero? I see they have an African lad on load from Barça B, he may have lived there long enough to qualify as Catalan though

New nation in Europe playing internationals (template)
themodelcitizen replied to themodelcitizen's topic in Editors Hideaway
It seems to work with the default 54-team setup (one less for host) even if there's an extra team in Europe - even if the extra team is "affiliated to world governing body". They just don't take part. I was trying to just add to the registered teams list like I did in WCQ, but without the ability to adjust stages, rankings etc it just breaks it... If only it was the other way around (no WCQ but yes to Euros) you could imagine a nation that was part of UEFA but not FIFA (a la the CONCACAF members like Martinique) -

I thought date joined (on their contract page, not history) was the key factor. Could be wrong -

Yeah, leaning towards just replacing a team in "registered teams". I guess most people move Kazakhstan into Asia but won't that mess up AFC coefficients and such? I was considering just swapping Belarus out like Russia, not sure how they escaped the same fate IRL -

My bad, this seems to break Euro qualifying now and I can't change it back, if anyone can figure that bit out feel free to have a go ("stages" are greyed out and uneditable). It's annoying because you can fully integrate them into Nations League, World Cup quals, and the U21/U19 competition without too much trouble. Might just unify Ireland or something again to try and free up a slot -
The age 21 thing might be hardcoded, it's not set up on Celtic's reserve teams or anything. I think if we removed Celtic's B team's "competition" (the SPL) and add a new reserve team for Celtic (either in the "reserve teams" screen or a new club with an affiliation) in the SPL (or wherever you want them to play) then it would function the same way but without the age restriction. I can mess with it this weekend

Teams qualifying twice getting another seed
themodelcitizen replied to JNewton's topic in Advanced Rules Editing
Isn't there a box somewhere like "do not schedule if not enough teams" and "add history if not enough teams". Then you could just use get last winner/get last runner up/get last third place team instead of directly qualifying. Mind you the qualifying is cleaner and there's probably a way to do it that way -

For Liechtenstein I meant literally replacing the entire country with a new created nation, and folding all the previously Liechtensteiner records into Switzerland or Austria. So the game would still think it's getting the Liechtenstein national champion from the Liechtenstein cup, it's just that it would be a "new nation" (writing over Liechtenstein) and the Liechtensteiner Cup would be renamed and played alongside the Spanish season instead of the Swiss season. But yeah, I can only imagine that will throw up more issues.
