  1. Great to hear! We could probably rebuild the WC structure to account for it, maybe a fantasy expansion. I'm nearly done, have exhausted almost all of the extinct nations, and folded St. Barts and Wallis/Futuna into France to free them up as new second nations. Every new nation here has either "cities" or a "local region" so that newgens are dual nationals with the larger host country (e.g. Jerseyman/English). It's working as a 12-team tournament now but I'll make it 16 and add the playouts (5th place, 7th place etc). Compatibility-wise I need to test it, but I haven't changed any European structures so I *think* your changes will run fine. I'll run one later (likely with England level 10 too) and see how it looks. Certainly some visual glitches will come up (like Kieran Tierney having double Manx second nationality because we both added it) but that can be adjusted with an alternate version
  2. Most formats are replicable in the editor, even if it takes some trial and error. And those compatibility issues might arise with really complex projects like this, which are kind of intended as a standalone save anyway. What kind of projects do you have in mind? Anything using existing nations and clubs shouldn't throw up too many issues
  3. I've repurposed the "ghost" nation Czechoslovakia to create the inactive Catalan second nationality (like Basque). I don't think we can show it as an option to "load all players" at game start - Pays Basque is hard-coded that way - but you can load all players from Spain.
  4. Spain's default rules plus the Copa Catalunya for Catalan teams, activated U19 division 2, and preseason cups like Barcelona's Joan Gamper Trophy. Also adds a Catalan second nationality (like the Basque one in the game). The UE Olot version hard-codes their Catalan transfer policy (thanks for letting me know about this @CannonballAndre). 5. If you duplicate an award, you have to change both the "long name" and "short name". Most of the time, if you're duplicating an award like Best XI, you'll change the long name from "K-League Player of the Year" to "K4 League Player of the Year" (or whatever it may be), but you don't bother changing the short name, which already says "Player of the Year". The game reads that as blank for some reason though, you need to register a "change" (on the bottom left of the award you can see all the database changes). Even just changing a letter in the short name, and then changing it back, will register as a change and the name should show up in-game.
  6. It works, there's an issue where your Champions League "homegrowns" have to be English instead of Scottish, but both rosters have more than enough players like that out of the box. I can't remember what was going on with the reserves but I think they sort themselves out after a season or two
  7. Dynamic rivalries are a thing, if teams play in games like a cup final enough they apparently increase their rivalry. Not sure about the finer points
  8. Could you set each stage to have min/max teams, and under "teams" set min/max along with "get all teams from division" and set the first round that each entry starts from? I think each stage might be smart enough to then only schedule enough games as it needs. Alternately have each round as its own stage with its own "teams" entry (using min/max again) and then the next stage has "get qualified teams" with a min/max number as well
  9. What kind of doubles came up? I wish I had some programming nous to come up with like a mod launcher that would detect conflicts. By template do you mean you copy and paste from an existing format? Or just launch, say, the English rules and change the details including the nation? I've tested myself by just launching the advanced rules and building a cup or an entire nation rules from scratch, but when you want to copy from an existing league you can always load FM22 editor too and compare rules
  10. Is that "United Kingdom"? I swear I've seen that mentioned in some context in the game too for nationality? Then I think "Great Britain" can still pop up if England host the Olympics again, or at least it could in previous versions after they coded it for London 2012
  11. Just realized Saint PIerre clubs also get randomly thrown in the Coupe de France (which is great), so better not to touch them unless you want to rebuilt that too. The same isn't true for Wallis and Futuna or St. Barts, though EDIT: adding nations to Europe seems to work fine so far, with only UEFA U21 qualifying affected (even if the nation isn't set to be part of FIFA). I'm guessing that tournament will just "get teams from europe" without a hard number like the Euro and the U19s, so two qualifying spots are open in the first instance (both co-hosts of the 2023 finals not participating) and then just one after that (back to one finals host). I'm not sure if these free spots are distributed via highest rep, or if a further high-rep created team would take the spot of San Marino or whoever's at the bottom. This was all done without creating clubs though, I'm not sure what would happen to coefficients and CL qualifying if there are clubs in the "nation" (not just "based nation") that it can pull from. Africa seems fine, their national comps aren't affected, and I *think* same goes for North America (their namepool is all kinds of messed up for custom jobs though). South America causes an error if you add an 11th nation, one of their youth tournaments must just pull "all teams from South America" or something like that and would need to be rebuilt
  12. The game doesn't seem to like international teams playing 1 day apart so football has to start a few days before the Games' opening ceremonies. They also have penalties after each draw in the group stage - these only matter for tiebreakers, each team gets a point regardless. We can use it as a tiebreaker, but the game won't allow a "penalty win" to be worth anything less than 2 points, so I've left it out. We can keep adding islands as long as there's room, for a 16-team tournament (with the random draw that means teams can miss out without kicking a ball). EDIT: I think I've hit the limit, Crimea might be hard-coded to be unclickable. Some like St. Barts seem hard-coded to throw up black newgens, but if that doesn't work for the new country I believe it can be overridden by using an existing local region instead of changing city nationalities. Was researching previous attempts at this and figured some of these posters might appreciate the idea or be able to help:
  13. Expanding the Muratti Vase file to test the limits of the extinct nations and how the game handles newgens there. Unfortunately this is incompatible with my Qatar, San Marino, and Catalan files, which use extinct nations (separately repurposed here) to fix certain issues. Download (Island Games + Muratti, use instead of basic Muratti file) Flags | Kits | Skipton Cup Load all players of nationality and players based in nation for the added nations TMC MEGAPACK Screenshots: None of these teams are intended to play in FIFA/UEFA comps, but there's a glitch where the highest rep team (Isle of Man) ends up in in Euro U21 qualifying. People and cities have dual nationality (e.g. Guernsey/England). Newgens appear every few years, or much more regularly with playable clubs - I haven't tried all these DBs together or consulted the creators, and am happy to remove these links if they wish, but newgens should appear more with: the Norwegian lower leagues from @XaW for Froya and Hitra in the 5th or 6th tiers, @lionel messi's England level 10 for Jersey Bulls, Guernsey FC, Newport (Wight), and Isle of Man FC... ...who overwrite Ireland pre-1922 here, just like in @Rainbowz' Manx file. So in theory, this should be compatible, but likely requires some testing and tweaks. Greenland are built over the old CIS like in @Timo61's expansion so this should also be theoretically compatible. You may also want to load default leagues for: Finland for newgens at IFK Mariehamn (Åland), and Wales to level 2 for Anglesey (Ynys Môn). if anyone knows of a realistic Welsh DB that goes down to the regional divisions, let me know. Same if you've found a Malta DB for Gozo clubs, or a quality Scottish lower league DB for Shetland and Orkney FC (level 6). Milne Cup is included. If you spot anything that looks off, missing players/details, or incorrect records, post it here - or want to contribute with stuff like kits, feel free.
  14. Does it say what type of takeover? Fans trust, etc. Maybe we can prevent that from occurring for certain levels
  15. I don't think it's set in stone. For North America, or the local region Southern Africa, I've noticed first names being pulled from a wider pool instead of my created namelist. With continent set to Europe, though, they seemed to pull first names from the namelist like you've described
  16. This is with Saudi and Qatar loaded, after the most recent update (i.e. this morning): Jeonbuk (Korea) beat a Saudi team in the final of the first season which must correspond to that "2022" entry. Seems to check out
  17. I think I sorted it with those squad registration options, just tested and I was able to keep Asiri registered as no. 45: Investigating the coefficients now...
  18. Oops sorry, I can see that window didn't have "allow any squad numbers" so I wonder if it naturally limits you to 40 if that's not checked. Let me test it now
  19. Maybe New France persisted in the 18th century and are still united with the old country (either as a Republic or surviving Empire)? Montreal, Chicago, New Orleans all the spine of the new Francophone country but I digress, maybe something to work on in the future. As I keep converting extinct nations to active ones and seeing what breaks (and doesn't), I'll keep updating if anything interesting comes up
  20. Yes sorry mate I mentioned in there that it's incompatible with any file using Ireland pre-1922. I used to have a version without the extinct nation/Arab player rule but it became too time-consuming to update both. I might try and fix that this weekend by using a different extinct nation (possibly South Yemen or UAR) so it would be compatible with Rainbowz' great work here
  21. Different countries seem to have more malleability. Given the amount of countries in Southern and Eastern Africa I could see them having a hardcoded name and ethnicity set that overrides your changes in certain ways. The US might rely more on "cities" or local regions to get that variation in Latino and non-Latino names in ways I can't quite place
  22. If you replaced them with a fully functioning nation maybe. But when I just made the "local region" of Quebec part of the new nation of Quebec (formerly Saint Pierre) it gave all Canadians born in Quebec a Quebecois second nationality (as intended). Need to test to see if it acts similarly if I just change a city's nationality (not local region) to the new one. I think it would work, I can't imagine every newgen being born with 2 second nationalities, but we'll see
  23. This is still going on after the latest update. Guessing Gold Cup qualifying ends too late or something like that
  24. Saint Pierre and Saint Barts are also usable, they don't participate in anything (I guess Reunion and Mayotte too) so could be changed into any nation where you don't mind a default French namelist (wonder if we can overwrite that with a big enough pool of added people). I used Saint Pierre for Quebec in FM22 EDIT: I'm sure you're aware, but from what I can tell, a country's "region" (Western Europe, etc) affects the first names of newgens, while existing people with that nationality (including created 100-year old referees) make up their last names. I wonder if the issue @ak717 had has something to do with SI coding Albanian and Kosovar names for the "region" Southern Europe (so they can share them, and from a time when Kosovo didn't have enough people for a namepool of its own), while the other "Southern Europe" nations (Bosnia, Italy etc) have their own hidden namelists, or are set so that their "language" takes priority. If no "region" is set, I think it might pull first names from other nations with that "language" or from existing people with the nationality as well, this needs more testing (including with a blank slate of people). Further, it appears that the skin tone/ethnicity of greyed out players/newgens relates to their "continent", but I'm guessing most nations have this hard-coded somewhere (along with first names, and in some cases last names). Is this consistent with what you've seen with Iron Curtain and other projects?
  25. Skipton Cup added, it's an annual pre-season friendly cup between Guernsey FC and Isle of Man FC. Obviously this goes best with an England lower leagues database like the level 10 one on this forum. Going ahead with a slightly slimmed down Island Games file which will really pad this out, even if much of the players there will be greyed out at first.
