Season Summary 2039 - 2040

Won the Champions League in our third final!

CHALLENGE COMPLETED

A great season, completing the challenge by winning the double! We already won the Bundesliga two years ago, but great to do it again. More important, we broke our CL final curse.

In 2037 and 2038 we got all the way to the Champions League final, only to lose against Bayern and Dortmund. Last year we got knocked out in the Quarter Final, but this time we were once again at center stage. We won our very easy group against Benfica, Charleoi and Ajax with five wins and one draw. Next up was Tottenham. They struggled with domestic form and injuries and we easily beat them 3-1 on aggregate. The quarter final was the games that gave us the most trouble, when we only drew 0-0 at home to Chelsea. A fantastic perfomance away with a 1-0 win was surprising to say the least! The semi final against Real Madrid was a world class performance from Jasper Berg, our star striker. A perfect hat-trick in the first game and two goals in the second leg helped us to a dominant 7-1 win on aggregate. We faced Man Utd in the final and it was my goalkeeper who got the man of the match award with a 8.50 rating. Man Utd were the best team, but a goal from my Croatian playmaker Benjamin Biskup made the difference. A 1-0 win and challenge completed!!

In the Bundesliga we rotated quite heavily, especially when we had CL games mid week. This led to some dropped points here and there, but the situation was the same for Bayern, Dortmund. We won the league with only 76 points, but that was enough.

In regards to completing the challenge, I dont think there was any better time to do it. Our talent development has been really bad the last few years and our defense isn't great at all. Our two best defenders are now 31 years old, and the youngsters in the U19 aren't really top class. But even though we have a shaky defense, we probably have the best midfield in the world. Mohamed Ouni and Janz-Bolz both play for Germany and Benjamin Biskup is maybe Croatias best player. That combined with striker Jasper Berg is a deadly combination. The passing and vision qualities in the team is better than any that I've had on this challenge, but probably also the worst defense.

I will of course start right away with another challenge, but I cannot recommend doing it in Germany highly enough! I have completed it twice here and it is a really fun country to play in!

Squad | Transfers | Finances

With us being an amateur side, I experienced the issue of losing player quite soon. 4 of my best players were poached by other teams during the season. Not easy when the squad is small initially, but we coped quite well. In the initial stage we competed quite well, even if we rarely filled the bench. So after 22 games we were 3rd and thus went into the promotion stage and were safe from relegation. We did have to play the best teams twice again, but it's better than fighting to avoid relegation. 4 of the 6 teams in the lower bracket went down, so finishing there would be a real battle for survival. In the promotion stage we did well, and kept our 3rd place, though we were a bit behind the two teams who got promoted to the 3rd tier. After getting the youth intake a few were old enough to help out and we could finally have a full bench. The best ones were not old enough to play though, as the lower age limit to play is 16. Quite a few of them will be old enough this summer, or at worst a bit into next season, so I hope to blood many more then.

Sydbank Pokalen: We had a tough draw as we got a 2nd tier team, but we managed to keep them to 1-1 at full time. In extra time, though, they got two goals to knock us out in the first round.

We are losing a fair bit of money, but the board invested some money to keep us out of the red. So far, they have refused all my requests for a coaching license.

Youth intake:

3hb3uVx.png

Not bad! Some really promising players there and some are ready for the first team already.

lvi7ECx.png

Magnus Pleidrup 23h is a very good defender, and if he was old enough, he would be first choice. Will be next season!

Bbf0nDy.png

Emil Gertsen 23l is a very good midfielder. Excellent workhorse.

The week leading up to the final Chile had World Cup playoffs to qualify. I had 8 players on that team! Two I had to bring in as subs, and three others I had to sub out late. Down 2-1 I thought it was over. Y24B came on for my top scorer and scored the tying goal. In extra time Y34C, who was playing for the reigning Chilean player of the year, scored the winning goal. Genuinely shocked to have pulled this off this season. I still thought the team was years away. I will wrap up season later today and post the final update.

@darren1983 @XaW

Yours to use however you like, as far as we're concerned they count as your original squad. Just take a screen shot of te transfers page as soon as you take over showing the deals just incase anyone questions it.

Sant Andreu – Season 7 (2028/29)

La Liga 2 Back at the first time of asking! Zaragoza, Almeria and Elche all gave us a good run for our money, but after a solid start we really picked up form towards the end of the season, notching up 12 straight wins and winning the title with 97 points (from 42 games) in the process. Hope this end-of-season form means we have a better chance of staying up in the top flight on our second attempt.

spacer.png

Players: Muhammad Badjie 03b was a real discovery this season, I moved him from right back to centre back and he was unbelievable, rating 7.66 on average and scoring 9 goals from corners. Manuel Ristori 02c has developed nicely and is now our only La Liga standard player, while Sergio Mulero was prolific as usual, scoring 27 and assisting 12 this time. Jokin Carmona 06g was unexpectedly the pick of the youngsters, partly because I offered the top prospect from last year’s intake an expensive contract, which saw his personality worsen and development stagnate as soon as he signed it, so Carmona with his spirited personality has done the best out of last year’s talents.

Youth intake (preview): Another solid dip from the double exceptional pool, much more varied in terms of nationalities this time. I have a feeling Nil Villanueva 07a will develop into a cracking striker, and Moisés Nieto 07c has a very nicely balanced attribute spread for a centre mid. So even though this intake doesn’t look quite as good as last year’s, I’m happy with it overall.

spacer.png spacer.png spacer.png spacer.png

Facilities: We got a new owner who floated us on the stock exchange. Together with the parachute payment this meant we had plenty of money in the bank, so I upgraded both training and youth facilities which are now both at excellent.

Transfers: mostly loans out

Heibei KungFu - Season 6

We are no longer predicted last, it is time to look upper.

Season 6 :

Overall a quiet year, we are still far away from the continental spots. It was the last season of the remaining players from the original squad. 5 of them were still with us.

20220228091436_1.thumb.jpg.cac8cb87144644e8ebe0e3d8b5a5a09f.jpg20220228091315_1.thumb.jpg.2ac5e62de97dc1dfaeb3a1a6a0af34db.jpg

Yanzhou 25k improved well and I was able to extend his contract (2y+3y).

We had a nice run in the cup. We won the first game of the semi final, and I was confident we could reach the final. We got punished hard away, despite a close xg (1,3 vs 1,9 for them). I guess it was not our year.

20220228091340_1.thumb.jpg.c9ec50072ce8065a0b12557b0404d9e0.jpg20220228091449_1.thumb.jpg.b764fe8090bde1475e5fd3e88010166d.jpg

Tao 26i is very promising as DLP.

We are losing 3,5m by season. So we need to sell players every season. We got 7,75m from sales which allowed us to improve facilities. Most of them either have a bad personality and didn't improve or they are just not good enough for the team. So far, i was able to keep our most promising youths. I'm surprised to not receive offers for our best players. IA focus on youths players which i will not complain about. But it seems weird to pay big amounts for youths with potential and not try to get actual good players.

20220228091355_1.thumb.jpg.43b1fe640dd11110692f67c5adea43b5.jpg20220228091617_1.thumb.jpg.213142ee800503b5ad72d6f8d7af50cc.jpg

YI is not exceptionnal as previous years, but still interesting. An AM is our hot prospect.

20220228091805_1.thumb.jpg.8c971be5f5637899fb88e5bbe390d91c.jpg20220228091811_1.thumb.jpg.60064be2afe37c66d33991798529e1a0.jpg

With the money, we were able to improve facilities (ongoing) and JC/YR. Our 30k seats stadium often feels empty.

We had a slow start. 5 draws in 6 games really threw us into the relegation battle. The things start to improve and we end up in 6th place. With an unbalance squad we had luck to avoid many/ serious injuries. A few young players really step up and I hope I can build a team around them for the future.

Good draws for us avoing big teams in the first three round. Not so lucky in the 4th where we faced Sigma, lost in extra time.

Well I got tired of reloading for a specific English club. I can try that again later. I decided to pick somewhere I don't recall trying before, Sweden:

More aggressive than I've seen from first seasons in these challenges. I at least have a full team of no gray players so that's good.

I kept the color scheme the game has. From what I saw the team has one green jersey and Volkswagen is the sponsor.

Just the two 5* prospects and pretty rubbish personalities, despite the influence our staff has. A 3.5* PA player has potential to be a 3rd tier player, so only the top six have the potential to even play at the level we're currently at.

Heibei KungFu - Season 7

Overall, Chinese newgens have poor physical attributes. I had to change my tactic to adjust to their qualities. We left our 433 MD for a 442 diamond. It paid off as we had a good season, missing a continental spot only for 2 points.

We made our biggest sale so far with 3,8m for Ji 25f. He has a bad personality + winger + didn't improve. Always funny to see the amounts Chinese clubs are willing to pay for ****** players.

YI looks ok. The hot prospect is GK which was really needed. He probably will be in my starting XI next season.

China failed again to reach the final round for world cup qualifications. Thailand really improved, they weren't in the top 100 when the save started. Japan took the opposite path and dropped significantly.

I decided not to let anyone leave this year, now anyone over the age of 20 who didn't make an appearance this season will be released.
