leyrtj
Magesi FC - Season 6 - 2025/26 - South Africa - 4th A great season, finishing 4th and qualification for the CAF Federation Cup. Money has been getting difficult so that should help with the finances. We started great and beat Kaizer Chiefs in one of the first games and I knew we were a better team this year. One main reason for this was the emergence of Masuluke Shivambu, who scored 10 goals in the second half of the season. He doesn't have 5 star potential but I was truggling for goals and he seemed to be the one. Daclen Oscarine, who scored 75 league goal for us and got us promoted, left the club as his wages were getting silly. Also, a 198cm centre back, Siyanda Arendse, made great progress in the youth ranks and he helped contribute to a number of goals from set pieces. A good year. Next year, with the fixture congestion in South Africa, I may have to decide where to prioritise. I may prioritse the Federations Cup and try to earn as much money as possible. The youth intake was decent, we even got a Colombian GK through the ranks, though, with 4 determination, we won't be seeing him. I'll be triggering all the 3 year extensions on my star players this year, and hopefully they won't want release clauses going forward. For the first time, the media don't see us as the worst team in the leagu, we're the third worst team. JAwtunes
So I am thinking of starting a new save again and my son dropped a bombshell when he told me that football is the most popular sport in every African country (he probably saw it on YouTube). Not sure if this is number of viewers or participation, but it got me interested in heading to Africa. Spoiler
Dr Pepper Man
End of season 1 review Got off to a decent start picking up 12 points in the first 9 games. October and November was a terrible 2 months picking up just 1 point from 7 games and left me 1 point above relegation zone. December and January were ok picking up 6 wins in 10 games. Final 2 months were very indifferent as injuries started to pile up and left me looking nervously at the drop zone. Thankfully 3 of my youth intake were good enough to come in and fill some holes in the team. Finished strongly in the last 6 games winning 4 and losing only one. Top scorer was 21 year old Tyreace Palmer with 27 goals in all competitions. Secured all my current players for one more year at the start of my reign at Basford so ill have the same squad for the 24/25 season (except for Adam Chapman, Matt Thornill and Dominic Roma who are all retiring) Finished the season in 14th, 8 places above my expected finish of 22nd. Next season will be harder as 2 of my regular starters wont be here but some of my youth players are already improving at a good rate. grff
Basford United: 2023/24 Season Review The challenge begins again as we opt for a club not far from where I live. I won't rest until we dominate Europe and have a stadium named after Lee Hendrie! Our first season sees us finish top of the Vanarama North after a season long battle with Chester and Kidderminster. Our finances were given a massive boost as we managed to navigate into the third round of the FA Cup before losing to Championship Bolton Wanderers. Player stats were pretty good as expected when winning the league. By far our best performer was our star striker as he topped the average ratings, goals and assists column. Youth intake was much needed as we were short in some areas, especially goalkeeper. We had an excellent prospect come through who will be straight into the first XI. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Survive in the Vanarama National Keep our best players happy and under contract Hope for another good cup run
jrobertgordon13
Does anyone have any tips for managing this challenge in England? I wanna attempt it there, but it seems pretty difficult considering you need 5 promotions.
leyrtj
Magesi FC - Season 7 - 2026/27 - South Africa - 2nd Another good season, where we consolidated again. We started poorly (again) and kept giving up late goals. At one point we were just above relegation and fighting. Then we picked up and strangely after 15 games, half the season, we looked upwards in the table and found ourselves just 3 points of the top of the table. 3 wins wins and we were top of the table after 18 games. This was not down to our good form, but simply everyone at the top was taking points off each other. Orlando Pirates are normally well ahead at this points so, despite not being good enough, I thought this could be a chance for the title. We kepy pushing but then we draw a couple of games and then the Pirates smashed us - again. We scored enough points at the end to get 2nd and qualification for the CAF Champions League, though we scored the same number of points as the previous season when we finished 4th. It shows us that we're still two levels behind the Pirates. We did manage to win the CAF Federations Cup, though needed a lot of luck along the way, We needed penalites in the semi-finals to beat Mamelodi Sundowns, them the final against Black Leopards was some game. They went 3 - 0 up, despite the game being quite even. Somehow we pulled it back to 3 - 3. Extra time and then they went 4 - 3 up. They were tiring, but we'd rotated a lot ahead of the final, and this enabled us to equalize then win the game 5 - 4. 950k secured, and very needed. The CAF Champions League next season, and I think the only team we need to fear is Orlando Pirates. It might actually be easier to win the Champions League rather than the league. Anything can happen over two legs, but across a 30 game season, quality normally evens out. Money wise, things are looking better - with 950k from the Federations Cup, 450k from the league and another 450k in sponsorship. We also sold a couple of players for a million and a bit. One was one of our best talents, but we have so much talent coming through in AMC I felt 875k was too much to turn down. That gave us an upgrade in Youth Facilities so should pay off in the long run. The Youth Intake was decent if not spectacular. We still need players to come through in defence. _JHTB_
Ilkeston Town - Season 18 – Premier League– 18th Relegated Transfers -- Squad -- League Nothing in the way of transfers this season Despite losing our starting left back in pre-season to an ACL injury for 7 months we had a reasonable start to the season a win and a draw from our opening 5 without looking too far behind the pace, but then we played a Manchester City team who have been dominating the premier league since the start of the save and got battered 5-0 which seemed to remove the general confidence that we had from winning the league last season. We spent most of the season from there on thick in the relegation fight, mostly between 17th and 18th position. January was where we started to be resigned to a likely relegation as we went 8 games picking up only 1 point and amassing only 4 goals. Towards the end of the season it happened that we were playing a lot of the teams around the relegation battle, unfortunately, despite generally closer games than we had for the rest of the season we came out second best and ultimately got relegated with a game to go. We incidentally had our best performance of the season in the last game as we drew 2-2 to title winners Manchester City who with this title win became the record holders for most Premier League titles. Youth Intake Another less than stellar intake but a few players who look promising. I did offer all players offers because our youth teams are quite baron due to loanees out of the club. Oliver McAteer 18 – We have been lacking depth in defensive terms for a little while now, so McAteer is a welcome addition through the intake. Left back is where we had a long term ACL injury for the regular starter and we ended the season with the back up there picking up an ACL of his own so I actually think he could get quite a bit of gametime next season. Armel Mayulu 18 – A decent prospect on the left wing, the main issue being us not playing with wingers. Though hopefully should he develop well he can force us to change our formation. Phil Slowe 18 – As mentioned, we do not have the best depth in defensive terms, so Slowe is a player that will hopefully come good. He doesn’t have terrible base attributes for central defense so hopefully can improve to be a good option for us there. Overview We improved our training facilities again this year but yet again the board would not agree to improve our youth facilities. Despite us searching for a site for a new stadium we have yet any construction confirmed which means we have sold out every game this season. It is obviously a huge disappointment to be relegated, however, I am content that next season will be a bit more fun in terms of winning more games. I think we have to aim for at least the playoffs given we won the league two years since, but aside from monetary benefits, I’d be happy with losing in the playoffs really. Key Players Patsy Bennett 12 – Considering we were low scoring this season Bennett had a fantastic return, 7 goals and 5 assists is a great showing. Weirdly, I am now retraining him as a defensive midfielder rather than attacking but given his contribution I doubt he will play in the more defensive areas. Darren Kerr 7 – It was obviously a pretty miserable season defensively, but Kerr still put in some admirable performances he ended up with 5 league clean sheets but even when conceding generally he wasn’t really at fault for the goals. He’s also surpassed 500 all time appearances for the club taking him second on the rankings. Kyle McKenzie 11 – McKenzie has been a consistent performer for the last 4 seasons for us, just missing out on key player for the season status in previous seasons. This season again he was a strong player for us in defensive midfield.

It's sometimes best to just focus on upgrades rather than players at the start I find, so selling your best player to get the money for an upgrade pays off in the long run. But once you get out of non-league I always find it a lot easier to get promotions then. Kinda like Luton Town in real life!
libbyshuss
Aachen FC - Germany 2047/48 - Bundesliga Season Summary Aachen FC's 2047/48 Bundesliga campaign was a rollercoaster ride filled with frustration and inconsistency. The team's poor performances were often salvaged by the genius of Pascal Meier. Fortunately, the lack of consistency seemed to plague every other team as well. The second half of the season saw some improvement as Aachen FC went on a run of victories. Surprisingly, despite their shortcomings, they found themselves with a chance of winning the title on the final day. However, they ultimately finished third in the league, leaving a sense of what could have been. Aachen's Champions League campaign had its fair share of highs and lows. The team achieved some remarkable results, including an impressive away victory against Chelsea and draws against powerhouse clubs like Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. However, there were also shocking setbacks, such as a home loss to Shaktar and a disappointing draw away to Sporting Lisbon. In the end, Aachen finished 26th in the league phase, narrowly missing out on advancing due to head-to-head results. Players Pascal Meier had an outstanding season at the age of 20. As a regular in the German national team, he showcased his immense talent and skill. Not only was he instrumental in winning games for his club team, but he also received accolades for his performances. Meier was honored as the FIFPRO player of the year and crowned with the prestigious Ballon d'Or award. His exceptional abilities and impact on the field proved that he is truly one of the best players in the world. Youth Aachen's youth intake for the season was initially labeled as excellent, raising expectations. However, the results were underwhelming, with only one player showing potential as an elite talent. Even then, this particular player didn't impress upon closer examination. The lackluster intake has raised concerns about the Head of Youth Development, who is 81 years old and may be losing his touch in identifying and nurturing young talents. I forgot to take a screenshot of the intake so here it is in GIF form Career As the upcoming season approaches, there are high hopes for Aachen FC. The team's players have gained valuable experience, and Pascal Meier is at the top of his game, continuing to be a key asset. With this solid foundation, Aachen FC has its sights set on a title push. However, there is a cause for concern as the youth system seems to be producing fewer promising talents. It will be important for the club to address this issue to ensure a sustainable future. Nonetheless, anticipation is building as Aachen FC prepares to embark on another exciting campaign.

The_Gato_In_Goal
Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 20 Top heavy intake again this year. Another Brazilian, which is odd. We've now got 3 in 2 years after 0 in the first 18. Also an Icelandic guy, who looks the most promising. Like the look of Erlendsson 20a. Tall, quick, can use both feet seems ideal for a goalscorer. Both Aagaard 20b and Eleandro 20c look like they have the potential to be the next wave of fullback options. Hopefully the potential holds up.
The_Gato_In_Goal
The more exciting news, however, is that by making it to the QF of the Champions League (a bit luckily), Egeris Paarup 13c agreed to sign a new deal. Good that we get to keep one of our stars, even if he is injured most of the time.
The_Gato_In_Goal
Brønshøj BK vs FC Barcelona Champions League Quarter Finals Spoiler We travel away to Camp Nou for the first leg in front of 89,421 fans, but only 607 who made the trip from Denmark. The aim is to hold out and put us in a position to have a shot at advancing during the return leg. Cagey start to the match, with not many chances until the 22nd minute. Wingback Andresen 14a plays a ball into the feet of our striker Johansen 13e. Barca defender Zapata comes flying in, but misses the tackle. That's all the space Johansen 13e needs, as he takes a touch out of his feet, and curls it into the top corner from 20 yards out and we take a 1-0 lead midway through the first half. Spoiler We take that 1-0 lead into halftime, and chances remain at a premium until, in the 65th minute, Barcalona reset from a corner and play a ball over the top to Nildo, their elite striker. Running through on goal, he calmly slots the ball into the net. But the flag is raised for offsides! Goal disallowed, and we make the adjustment to lower our line and tone down the counterpress and aggression. Let's try to maintain the lead. Spoiler Barca continue to pile on the pressure and, 10 minutes later, they have another chance. In the 77th minute, Nildo picks up the ball deep, and looks for runner on the inside. He finds Prados with a lovely ball through the center of our defense, and Lauritzen 10c is unable to keep the ball out of the net. 1-1 with 13 minutes plus injury time to go. At this point, we're taking down the tempo and parking the bus. A draw is still a great result for the away leg. Spoiler We see off the game until, with 1 minute to go in extra time, there's a highlight. Barcelona are passing the ball around, and we've got 11 men behind the ball. We had to take star man Egeris Paarup 13c off earlier in the half due to fitness concerns, and we shifted Worts 14b from the center of defense to play as the BWM(D). He chooses his aggression perfectly here, and we double their player and win the ball in an advantageous position. The ball squirts out to Johansen 13e, who drives forward and plays it wide to Brandt 11e, our captain and one of 5 players who enjoy/relish big matches. Brandt 11e is chased down however, and his shot gets blocked. But the ball fortuitously flies up into the air for Johansen 13e, who taps it in and steals the win at the death. Now we can take a 2-1 lead into the home leg. Spoiler In the home leg, we come out with the same lineup. We had completely rotated our side for the league game in between, losing that match 1-0. It'll all be worth it if we can pull through here and hang on. It's another testy opening to the game with not many chances until the 41st minute, just before half, as winger Christoffersen 15b picks the ball up deep. And Barcelona fullback Glavas makes an unwise decision to slide in from behind. All of a sudden Barca are down a goal in the tie, and down to 10 men. We sneak into half time and after a pep talk focusing on complacency, we look to score in the second half to put the tie away. No tactical changes, as we are on top of this game even without the red card. Into the 82nd minute now, almost there, but Nildo steps up for a free kick. It's from nearly 40 out, surely he won't score this. And he doesn't, Lauritzen 10c makes the save. But Cloutier, who was subbed on after the red card, tracks down the rebound and flashes it across. For Fuentes to shoot it right at Lauritzen 10c, who makes a mess of the shot, and lets the ball in. A huge mistake, now we're heading for extra time. With the game slowly slipping into extra time. Lauritzen 10c lines up for a free kick from 30 out. Yes, the GKs in this team take the penalties and the free kicks, and Lauritzen 10c has 39 career goals to his name. He steps up, and curls it into the top corner. With just injury time to play, surely we are heading into the semifinals! The final whistle blows and it's official. Overall, this was a close tie that came down to one moment of brilliance, and the stats support that. Unfortunately, our foes for the next round are Hjulmand 11a and Man City again. So this might be where our European cinderella run ends.

The_Gato_In_Goal
As expected, we couln't hang with Man City. It hurts even more when you consider that they lost 3-0 to Liverpool in the final. In other news, the board is making questionable decisions.

Season 8 was so nearly very successful. We started very poorly, had bad fixture congestion, and kept getting "unlucky" in games. Overall, we staggered to 5th place in the league, which was outside the continental places. However, we were in the CAF Champions League, where South African teams are alwasy strong. We progressed through a tough group on the final day and, despite some scares, advanced to the final to play the Orlando Pirates, who we'd never beaten. We went 1 - 0 in the final, but then they showed their class to go 3 - 1. We pulled a late goal back but no heroics like the year before. So close to finishing half the challenge. And we're not in the Champions League next season. The Youth Intake was disappointing, but we did at least get upgrades in Youth Facilities and Training Facilities. Also, 4 youth players became first team regulars over the season. Season 9 With no continental competitions this season, I felt this was the season to try to win the league. And we started strongly, winning the first four games, and I thought this is our year. However, our weakness at the back cost us and we ended up 3rd overall. FM also decided to punish us along the way. We sold our star right winger in the summer, as we had talent coming through who I thought we better and we had plenty of cover. Then within 2 days our three right wingers got long term injuries. Then the same happenned at right back. Very frustrating. Our media prediction continues to get better - 8th at 60 - 1. We also now have the 3rd best player in the league - Mandlazi. he won't sign a new contract without a foreign team release clause which is an issue/ We also had a very good youth intake, with 15 year old Jamie Wood possible being a star of the future. Within a month, both Porto and Tottenham are interested in him. Overall, more progress, and I feel we're getting close to a title challenge. The_Gato_In_Goal
Brønshøj BK - Review Season 20 The league campaign took a hit due to fixture congestion with the Champions League and the League Cup (we lost in the finals for the second time, have yet to win it). We cruised through the preliminary phase, but then went 1-3-6 the rest of the way and slipped down to third after a heavy 4-0 defeat on the final day slipped us under Randers by 1 goal on goal difference. First time in 4 years we haven't finished in the top 2. Luckily, we still qualify for the Champions League, but will have to go through the playoff. Shouldn't be much of a problem as congestion isn't an issue in the fall. We had lots of injuries, which was annoying, but did help squad rotation. I loaned out quite a number of rotation options out to top flight sides to get them minutes, and it looks like most of them have maxed their potential as decent Superliga players, so I will keep them around the squad next year to hopefully mitigate late season fatigue. Inspired performances in the Champions League and nearly made it all the way. On the one hand, we're not always statistically better than our opponents. But on the other hand, that will never be the case in the Champions League and we did beat the eventual winners in the group stages. Liverpool, Man Utd, Juventus, and Barcelona all suffered defeat against us, so we're truly on of the big boys now in terms of results. Key players: Spoiler After something like 6 years, I had the option to upgrade youth facilities again. So they will be maxed out next fall. Tons of loans out again off the screen.
XaW
XaW - SC YF Juventus - Season 2024/25 (Season 2) - Raiffeisen Super League Squad | Transfers | Finances Well, we stayed up, and that's all that matters. But the fact that we did it quite comfortably was a bit surprising. Neuchâtel Xamax and Luzern were quite a lot worse than anyone else, so we were never really in the relegation scrap at all. It was a bit surprising to me, but I'll take any wins I can at this moment. One issue this season was that we lost a couple of players before it even started due to them not wanting to sign new contracts, and we might face the same issue next season as two of our best players have not yet signed and also refuse to talk about a new contract yet. I hope they will change their minds, but who knows at this point. At least we got in a few more defender this youth intake, as that was a real issue for us for a while. I also got some improvements accepted: Schweizer Cup: We beat Echallens Région, Vevey-Sports, and Thun before we lost to Young Boys in the quarter final. The_Gato_In_Goal
We've signed ourself a new youth coach, old friend Arslan 01a who ended his 20 year career. Spent 10 years playing for us at every level. He had seasons of 6 goals 6 assists in the 4th tier, 3 and 4 in the 3rd tier, 7 and 7 in the 2nd tier, and 3 and 6 in the top flight. Then went to Turkey and played in the lower leagues for another decade.
Dr Pepper Man
2 games remaining can i make the playoffs???? Darlington, Gloucester and Basford all won on matchday 45 meaning its as you were going into the final day. Darlington face Relegation favourites Kettering while Basford face already safe Morpeth on the final day. sadly it wasnt to be despite a comfortable 3-0 win for Basford as Darlington won their game. season review to follow Edited June 12, 2023 by Dr Pepper Man
Popular Post Dr Pepper Man
Season 2 review After an ok start to the season, the 2nd quarter run propelled us up to the dizzy heights of 4th place. After the midway point results started to become very inconsistent and in the end it cost us dearly. winning our final 4 games of the season wasnt enough to put us in the playoffs. After being expected to finish 18th going into the start of the season an 8th place finish is not to be sniffed at. Brad McGowan, Mitchell Tait, Mark Barker, Brad Beatson, Seth Patrick, Gregg Smith, Courey Grantham, Oliver Clark are all set to be released reducing my squad size and wage bill but several of my youth players will be brought in to bulk out the rest of the squad. Top scorer in the league was Ryan Robinson with 27 goals. Joint 4th top scorer and not bad for a player from season 1 youth intake.

Not a massive fan of the league system with 33 matches, then a split for 5 matches, but it is what it is. Honestly, I'm not sure if this is viable long term as I have a slight FM fatigue running, but for now I'll continue.

At the very start of the first season pretty much al of your squad will accept new contracts. what i would do is tie them all down to a new contract and add a couple of contract extension clauses in there, gives you 3 or 4 seasons to try to build up your youth players

Hes only rated as a good Vanarama North player right now but hes better than what i have elsewhere in the striker department as most are regional division quality players. Finances are fairly straight forward, sign youth players from the intake on the longest contracts you can and as cheap as you can so you dont have to give them big wages, then when youre in a position where your squad is good enough to stay in that league, sell or release your highest wage players, maybe even offer new contracts to some of your players with a reduced wage, i had 2 players take pay cuts to stay with me as noone wanted them and they were first team regulars
BustaRaymes
Bóltfelagið Royn Betri deildin menn - 2029 A bad season as we tried a different formation due to an abundance of (A)MC's. Held on to it for too long before reverting back to 4-4-2. Squad Nesa is developing into a good goalie for us. Nitschke had a good season at the back, we have a duo there for years to come. In midfield, Johannesen should be our best player attribute-wise but it's not showing in the stats. He's mainly the reason I'm looking into a different formation. Andreasen was our top goalscorer again. Youth intake A nice new goalie for the future, a DM and a winger. 4-3-3 seems more and more interesting. BustaRaymes
Bóltfelagið Royn Betri deildin menn - 2030 Progress! We bumped up to the European spots this season, for the first time! The dominance Vikingur (only professional club in the league) and KI (scooping up everyone in between Vikingur and the rest) are showing is troublesome though. Squad Nesa is developing at a pace that makes him not wanting to renew his contract. Curious as to where he wants top go though, I have Iceland, Norway and Denmark loaded but I haven't seen a lot of players being transferred abroad yet. Steingrimsson has been our captain for a few years now and will be for some time it seems, as his performances are very solid. Rodgaard is our pace merchant on the wing and put in some good games this season. A debut season by Jacobsen paid dividends with 21 goals. Although the PF role does not fit him perfectly, that's where he stays for now. Youth intake Another decent goalie in Olsen, which makes me trust the future when Nesa leaves. Lindenskov is a fullback with some lovely starting attributes already. Next to having a great name, Gledisheygg gives us some new options at CB, the current ones were going stale. Woldike is a very nice looking inverted winger, but for now he has to learn to play ML. Transfers More loans!
leyrtj
Magesi FC - Season 10 - 2029/30 - South Africa - 1st - Champions! We did it, we won the league. Half the challenge completed. Towards the end of last season I noticed our media prediction moving up and in pre-season we were up to 5th. Also, our best player, Phakamani Mandlazi, were viewed by the media as the best player in the league. After 8 seasons in the top flight, it was time for our first title challenge, and we did it, just. We also won the CAF Federation Cup again and the MTN Last Man Standing Knockout (and a very pleasant million in cash for each) Key matches along the way: Chippa United 2 - Magesi FC 3 We were worried after a game and a half of the season. We lost the first game narrowly, a tough away game against Bidvest Wits. But then we found ourselves down 2 - 0 at half time to Chippa United in the second game. Some sharp words were spoken at half time, and we pulled two back quickly before a 94th minute winner Orlando Pirate 3 - 4 Magesi FC A spectacular game which saw both teams take the lead. Orlando Pirates have been the dominant team in South Africa for the last ten season, and looking back this was the changing of the guard. Magesi FC 2 - 1 Bidwest Wits A week before Christmas we lost our lead at the top of the table, with defending league champions Sundowns, taking over. At the time we seemed a pivotal moment, and we could have crumbled. But we quickly got back to winning ways two days later by beating Bidwest Wits 2 - 1, the team who'd beat us on the first day of the season. The defeat by the Sundowns ended up being our last loss in any competition or friendly for 4 months. Magesi 5 - 1 FS Stars March was a superb month for us, as we scored 19 goals across 5 games in all competitions. Supersport and Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points leaving us top with 2 games in hand. The most notable was against FC Stars who'd beaten us 5 times in a row. Maritzburg United 1 - 1 Magesi FC One point from our final 2 games would guarantee the title. Nerves got the best of us in the first as we somehow managed to lose the at home against Baroka FC. However, in the final game we held on to a 1 - 1draw and secured the title. Challenge Update One half of the challenge completed, but I just feel like I'm getting started with this team. I'm glad we have another season at least. The youth intake was very good with two 5 star wingers coming through. We have talent aplenty in midfield and attack but are lacking in defence. We sold our backup striker, Shivambu, and promoted Jamie Wood to the first team. Despite Sibussio Khune scoring 37 goals last year, he will now be the backup. I think jamie Wood is a top talent. He didn't have a work permit last season, and played no games last season, yet went from 2.5 stars to 3.5 stars. He's also wanted by the big clubs, so I'm not sure how long we can keep hold of him. Next season the obvious priority is the CAF Champions League. However, we also need to focus on the league in case we don't win the Champions League, and there are only 2 qualification spots. Win the Absa Premiership - COMPLETED - 2029/30 Win the CAF Champions League - NO - Best - Lost in the final 2027/28 Edited June 13, 2023 by leyrtj
Dr Pepper Man
Midway point time again and this season started very strong and after 17 games we sat in 2nd place, but after 3 big injuries and a poor run of 4 defeats in 5 see us slip out of the playoffs at the halfway point.
BustaRaymes
Bóltfelagið Royn Betri deildin menn - 2031 Another strong season in which we gained a position on the list. Now to close the gap towards Vikingur and KI. We gave Slovenian outfit Domzale a run for their money in the first leg during our debut in Europe. It wasn't enough but I'm happy we weren't outplayed completely. Squad An early season injury for Jacobsen meant that Thorsteinsson got his starting spot back this season. Nesa is still leaving and will join B68 after this season. Vikingur and KI don't need him and he isn't good enough to go abroad, so this pretty much horizontal move is what's left for him. Steingrimsson was our best defender again. With what's coming up through the youth ranks he should be able to get a few more seasons. In midfield, Debes is showing his promise more and more. Andreasen was our top scorer yet again this season. Popular Post libbyshuss
Aachen FC - Germany Bundesliga - 2048/49 Season Summary League - Aachen FC began the 2048/49 season with an incredible burst of energy, storming to the top of the league table. Their performances were marked by exceptional teamwork and brilliant individual displays, captivating fans with their style of play. However, after the winter break, they experienced a slight dip in form, causing some concerns among supporters. Nevertheless, the team showed remarkable resilience and determination, bouncing back strongly to finish the season on a high note. With a string of impressive victories, Aachen FC secured a well-deserved second-place finish and clinched qualification for the Champions League. It was a rollercoaster season filled with thrills, but ultimately, Aachen FC demonstrated their true quality when it mattered most. Champions League - Aachen FC had a challenging start in the league stage of the Champions League, struggling to find their rhythm and suffering disappointing results. However, they showed incredible resilience and determination, responding brilliantly to adversity. In a remarkable turn of events, Aachen FC overcame the odds by defeating favourites and reigning champions, Rennes, in a thrilling encounter, securing a place in the knockout round. Unfortunately, their journey came to a halt in the hands of Hoffenheim. Despite a promising 2-1 victory in the first leg, Aachen FC underperformed in the second leg, conceding a 2-0 defeat and narrowly missing out on progressing further. It was a rollercoaster ride in the Champions League for Aachen FC, with both highs and lows, but their fighting spirit and memorable victories will be remembered by fans for years to come. Players Pascal Meier - At the young age of 21, Pascal Meier displayed extraordinary talent on the football field throughout the season. His performances before the winter break were nothing short of sensational, earning him the prestigious FIFPRO Player of the Year award and securing his second consecutive Ballon d'Or. Meier's dominance was unmatched as he scored goals for fun and left opponents in awe. However, there was a notable shift in Meier's form after the winter break. For a span of two months, he struggled to find his rhythm and went through a troubling period. His impact in big games diminished, and he had difficulty finding the back of the net. Fans and pundits alike grew concerned about his sudden dip in form. Fortunately, Meier managed to rediscover his mojo during the final run-in of the season. With an impressive resurgence, he regained his scoring touch and ended the campaign with a remarkable tally of 46 goals from 42 starts. Despite the challenging period, Meier's overall contribution to the team remained substantial, and his ability to bounce back demonstrated his mental fortitude. Best XI Youth Despite the preview promising an excellent youth intake, the actual intake for this season fell short of those expectations. While there were no elite talents to be found, there is still reason for optimism. The top talents in the intake showcased a good range of starting attributes and displayed positive personalities, indicating potential for development. Although the absence of standout prospects may be disappointing, the hope is that these promising individuals can develop into useful squad players in the future. While they may not immediately make a significant impact, their starting attributes and positive attitudes provide a solid foundation for growth and progression within the club. While it's important to manage expectations, it's crucial to remember that youth development is a process, and the true potential of these players may only be revealed over time. With proper guidance and nurturing, these youngsters could still prove to be valuable assets for the team in the long run. Career
_JHTB_
Ilkeston Town - Season 19 – SkyBet Championship– 2nd Promoted Transfers -- Squad -- League This was a bit of a weird season, we were pretty much always in the playoff and automatic hunt but often I was not so thrilled with how we were playing. We just seemed to concede lots of goals this season, which based on the quality of our defenders probably makes sense, but last time at this level we were fantastic defensively. This season we lost 3 games 3-0 and drew 3 games 3-3. Incidentally, one of the 3-0 losses we amassed 30 shots at goal and contrived to lost without scoring. We ultimately secured our automatic promotion with a good victory over the team in 3rd who were chasing us. Another quirk of this season was that despite mostly being within 3 points throughout we didn’t once find ourselves atop the table. Youth Intake Our intakes have been not fantastic for the past few years but I think this could be the worst for a while. Steve Brennan 19 – He has fairly decent attributes for striker so I feel he could have some impact on us in the future. The main issue he has is that pretty much all of our promising players are attackers, if he was a high potential centre back with similar current ability he would likely be straight into the first team, as an attacker he has a lot of improvement ahead of him before playing. Overview We finally got a board takeover, the takeover process lasted pretty much all the off season and then till October. The new owner immediately allowed me to request improved youth facilities which I hadn’t been able to do under the previous stewardship for 5 years which is obviously some hinderance to our intakes. Despite us looking for a site for a new stadium, the new owner has made the sensible decision to instead expand our current ground which will take a year. Whilst the expansion takes place we have relocated to a 40,000 capacity stadium. Weirdly, I feel less prepared for the Premier League this time then two seasons ago. I imagine we will again be relegated, but I am probably going to be rotating a lot more to try and integrate more of our youth players into the team to serve us better for the future. Key Players Matthew Edwards 14 – Edwards has had a fantastic season for us this year. 32 goals from 37 games as he really cemented himself as our first choice striker. Patsy Bennett 12 – Bennett has generally been a strong performer for us and this season was no different. It was the first time he’s managed double figures in goals and assists with 11 of each. Dalton Sergeant 10 – Alongside Bennett Sergeant also put in stellar performances this season joining Bennett with double figures for both goals and assists. Attacking wise on the whole we were much better this season.
Popular Post leyrtj
Magesi FC - Season 11 - 2030/31 - South Africa - 1st - CAF Champions League Winners We won the Champions League. Challenge complete! Having won the league last year, our almost sole priority was the Champions League. We sold our 3rd best striker over the summer for 400k. Then we promoted Jamie Wood to starting striker, and Khune (37 goals in all competition the season before) to backup. We managed to get Jamie Wood on a new 3 + 3 contract, with the top clubs in England circling. Then, disaster, both Wood and Khune get long term injuries, Wood with a broken foot and Khune with a fractured lower leg, and both out until Xmas. We had no back up except Banda, a 17 year old 1.5 star striker, who would now be the starting striker. The goal was to stay near the top of the league and get through to the group stage of the Champions League. Then Xmas and both strikers would be back. Champions League - Winners Luckily the Preliminary and 2st round draws were kind to us and we progressed to the group stage easily. We drew a relatively easy group and finished top ahead of Coton Sport, Generation Foot and Hearts of Oak. Coming up to the quarter final draw the only team I was worried about were Mamelodi Sundowns who'd we been fighting in the league for the last two seasons, and were currently top of the league. And of course we drew them in the quarter finals. By the time the quarter finals came along in April, the Sundowns had hit some awful form. A loss to me 3 - 0 (lucky on our part) in February saw them lose 8 of the next 13 games before facing us. It ended up being relatively straight forward in the end. We were losing the first leg 2 - 1 away and I was not unhappy with the result. Then we scored two late goals and easily won the return leg 3 - 0. We then faced a decent Wydad Casablanca team in the semi-finals. It was a very tight first leg at home, and we were 1 - 0 after 60 mins. Then we scored 5 in the last 30 minutes after they had a man sent off and won the return leg 3 - 1 to book a spot in the final against ES Tunis. We were easily the better team and had 20 unanswered shots before finally scoring in the 60th minute. FM still made us wait though as they equalized on the counter with their first shot on goal in the 75th minute. Then in the 78th minute our left winger, Daclen Matuba, scored the winner. We'd done it. Absa Premiership - 1st Going into the Xmas break we were second behind the Sundowns, which I was happy with. We didn't need to win the league, but Champions League places only go to the top two teams, so we needed a top 2 place in case we didn't win the Champions League this season. The January transfer window was a struggle with a number of big bids from Saudi Arabia, China and England. We eventually had to turn down a crazy 2.2m bid for Khune as Man Utd were chasing Jamie Wood pretty aggressively. On deadline day they bid as high as 12m, and I was just waiting for the Board message of "too good to refuse". But it never happened to their credit. Jamie Wood then came back from injury and despite not scoring in the first few games, scored a goal a game for the rest of the season. Despite a couple of losses, the Sundowns' meltdown meant we won the league with a couple of games to spare. Squad update A really nice youth intake with two top wingers and a nice defender. I'll do a more in-depth breakdown in a future post, but the squad was basically the same as the season before with the addition of Jamie Wood. After coming back from injury Jamie Wood improved significantly from 3 to 5 stars and was rated the best player in the league after just 6 weeks of games. In the two years he's been here, he didn't play the first year due to work permit issues, and in the second season he missed 4 months due to injury. So his stats are a bit behind but I do think he's a future star. Challenge Update It's almost with sadness that I complete the challenge. I've really fell in love with this clubs and players. There are a few really talented players, so I might actually continue for a season or two. Or I might retire and sim 5 years into the future to see what happended to everyone.
