I'll look back through my posts if I have an Indepth version somewhere. Walking through all the steps in the CalcSheet is something I don't think I've done, but could do over the weekend if you want to fully understand the process. I tried to do single steps in each cell so it is clearer, but there is still a ton happening on this sheet. What I very quickly can say is that Rows 20-100 handle the unweighted calculations, which are the position scores out of 100. Rows 138-220 hand the weighted calculations, which are for the CA liner interpolation. I have the data in the first Columns and then all calculations move horizontal form them and stay in line. So Row 22 for example will have all of Carrillo's unweighted calculations & 140 will have Carrillo's weighted calculations. (I just use UID in the weighted part rather than carrying the name forward) Between these two are the lookup tables, which if you wanted to build your own system is what you would use. If you go all the way right to Columns EW+ you see where the Position/Role Table is. I have filled most of these in, but a reminder that CM, ML & MR aren't fully implemented. I know I should, but I haven't been using 4-4-2's in FM23 so just stuck with DM/FB/WB stuff. From a YAC post for both Elzag Hamburg & Porto (LUX) I had this short blurb about how it calculates: Addendum on CA Calculations: It's worth mentioning that my CA calculation is very much an estimate as I don't have the editor to build an authentic CA database. I generate my CA using FM Scout's CA calculator to create a gird of uniform ability players as well as CA weights for each attribute by position. Once I weight my players' attributes I use liner interpolation to calculate where my players sit between the standardized players. It's not perfect but gives a reasonable idea of where my players' CA is. Edited March 3 by WhiteCat33 Quick And Dirty on CA Calculations: what happens is each player has a weighted sum that is calculated based on the Assistant Manager's Opinion of the best position for the player. Excel takes that number and goes to this table searching down the correct position column till it finds the number both higher and lower than it. It then records the CA numbers I generated that are linked to those weighted sums. Then finds the point on the line between those two (x,y) pairs that matches the weighted sum generated for the player. The Player CA is then the y coordinate. I do this twice due to the bias that either-footing has on CA so you can see where the player would fall if the Weak Foot value was set at the minimum (1/20). I have to emphasize that this is a CA Approximation and not the exact value in the game. However, since it is a consistent method of estimation and I use it on opposition squads it has relative accuracy when it is the sole manner of CA comparison. I don't have the editor, so haven't tested its accuracy. If anyone tests it I would be curious how wrong it is! Popular Post DazRTaylor
End of Season Review Season 2030/31 Bury Season Summary It was a season of triumph, as we secured promotion to the Football League via the promotion playoffs. We also enjoyed our best cup run to date in the F. A. Cup. Season Details League Table - We finished in our highest place to date, seventh, and qualified for the Promotion Playoffs. League Fixtures 1 & 2 - We score so many goals though our defence is somewhat leaky. Our consistency improved though. Promotion Playoffs - Two huge away wins, at Dorking Wanderers and Boston United, set up a winner takes all final against Gillingham. Despite a plethora of injuries, we were magnificent in the final and earned promotion to the Football League. F. A. Cup - We finally made it through to the third round and had a fantastic tie against giants Chelsea at home. They were obviously too strong for us, but what an experience. F. A Trophy - We were well set for a good run before a shock defeat away to Tonbridge Angels, from the division below, saw the club crash out at the fifth round stage. Friendlies - It was our best pre season campaign to date as we claimed three Football League scalps, plus Scottish outfit Aberdeen. Squad - We continue to improve and a few players have progressed significantly. Squad Dynamics - This is surprisingly not as good as it was last season. Transfers In - None. Transfers Out 1, 2 & 3 - One of our best players has been sold for a hefty £500,000 transfer fee. Some fringe players left permanently on free transfers and awhole host of youngsters left on loan. Youth Candidates - It was a good intake though below recent years. Alan Ferguson YP31D69, who is comfortable in attacking midfield or on either wing, is considered the best prospect. Finances - Thanks to our Wembley appearance and our club record transfer sale, we made another small profit this year and our bank balance gets ever closer to £3m. Key Players Marcelencio Klaiber YP28D20 - The Dutch central midfielder is one of our most consistent performers. Tommy Ashman YP28A17 - A breakout season from our main striker as a return of 41 goals in 47 games shows. Bello Yekini YP29A34 - Our goalkeeper is so important to us, when he was injured our form fell off a cliff. Danny Holmes YP29B35 - I turned the striker into a right winger and he is now an automatic selection. Peter Scott YP28F22 - He is now our main left back. It took a while for him to develop though he has improved significantly this year. Next Season I am not sure what to expect. Survival is a minimum, though I would love to finish in a comfortable mid table spot. V50
5 hours ago, WhiteCat33 said: Haha yeah his base wage is 25% of our wage bill, but for the absurd number of goals he's scoring as well as captaining the team & mentoring all our strikers its totally worth it. What shocked me was I have never had an issue with him wanting a release-clause as that is what gets you in the Caribbean. The MLS trying to poach him as been interesting. He has to have max loyalty because every transfer window at least 3-5 MLS teams put in bids for him but he has no interest in signing for a MLS Team! I find this crazy because he was a pure American Foreign intake player, so you would think would have a preference to return to the USA. In my game universe It also helps that without your NACL mod-file the reputations of the leagues have shifted and this is the current state of North America: Even though Barbados doesn't have much money in the league (yet), you don't get that big of a negative reputation effect for star players wanting to leave to other North American Leagues. I have both Costa Rica and Honduras loaded in my game and it seems they are out-gaining the MLS in reputation (probably a balance issue?). It has been just MLS & Liga Mx teams trying to buy him off us thus far... This changed this summer after Carrillo's performance in Club matches as well as the North American World Cup Qualifying he was runner up for NA POY and was the starting striker in the Best XI. Now that he's got onto the world stage, we immediately we got interest from European Clubs primarily from 2nd and 3rd level nations. Yes he got upset about it, but it wasn't that hard to manage. Only big downside was his performance dipped for our early season Continental Match, which was frustrating. Bids were half decent though: Hide contents Then since he was unhappy he was open to MLS moves, but again I easily waited him out. What's more amazing is how much Real Salt Lake were willing to pay us for him. I do remember in my St Vincent save my star CM did get some larger offers to move to the MLS, but I don't think that big. Hide contents I still have him for another 3 years on the current contract, but I'll probably be having him sign a new one shortly, so we will see what he asks for next. I've been meaning to ask you, have you started on the 2024 version of your database? If you are, are you editing NACL/CCC the same way? I ask because that file locks in the league reputations in the Caribbean due to how the continental competition is changed. Because this save I forgot to add it I'm seeing these interesting changes in ranks, though I do miss your CCC tournament - that was fun! I'll definitely be making it. Even going to try and add Trinidadian School football and accurate U20 competitions (who knows if it'll work). I can't start before official release as that's when the editor is out. I am hoping all-star teams work this year, as I had them all set up properly with the advanced rules last year, but they didn't work as the game clearly ignored them. I think it every year, but yes I'm hoping I can get it more fluid so you're not stuck in the earliest stages. I'm wondering if I have a hidden stage where the game ranks teams by their reputation and then use that to feed them into rounds... I've never been able to get something similar to dynamic coefficients work, but with the official coefficients being released it might be possible this year.

Popular Post The_Gato_In_Goal
Haringey Borough - Review Season 1 And we're off. First season in the VNS was pretty uneventful. We had some real talent in the squad despite not having any depth. Managed to have an even number of wins and losses and a 0 goal difference--the epitome of a mid table side. We managed solid cup runs as well. Made it to the 4th QR in the FA Cup and the Fifth round of the FA Trophy before losing to sides in leagues above us. Dillon Barnes refused to sign a part time deal, but never left us somehow. My assistant rates him as a good VNL player, so we're enjoying having him while we can. Part of the reason our defense was 5th best in the league. Spoiler The rest of our success can be attributed to Temi Babalola, who scored 32 goals in all comps, including many headers off corners. He finished second in the league in scoring, 8th in average rating, but somehow won the VNS Player of the Season. Spoiler Not a great intake, but I'm glad to increase the depth. Signed everyone. Managed to secure 2 coaching courses, and then 1 upgrade each in junior coaching and youh recruitment. The board needed to expand the stadium at the end of the season for league requirements, so that too a chunk out of the budget. I imagine our bank balance will begin to decrease as we have everyone signing part time contracts for wage and the cost of our youth setup increases. Nothing in, a few players left to go start in the VNL after refusing to sign new deals. Edited October 31, 2023 by The_Gato_In_Goal
HanziZoloman
@DazRTaylor great Cup Run and congrats to your promotion. Wonderful stuff to read! I enjoy the looks of your dutch midfielder excellent player, I'd like to have him. Ricay News report the highest transfer out. Brian Milicevic is a wonderful player and it's hard to lose him, especially as he is very young and promising. The Australian only played 1 1/2 season as a regular starter. We're losing money every month and the savings are nearly spent, the 500k from this transfer will see us through the year. We already promoted a new youngster to develop as the next WB. 500k is a special offer Spoiler Brian Milicevic a wonderful servant Spoiler The other Aussie left us too. Deng Ross Oh he will be missed. He scored some nice ones and is still so young. but 250k are worth the deal. Popular Post XaW
XaW - Follo FK - Season 2026 (Season 3) - OBOS-ligaen Squad | Transfers | Finances Our 2nd season at this tier was a bit harder than the first. We did far better than anyone expects us to, but it was a bit worse than last year. Few goals scored, and more conceded will inevitably cause us to drop off. I'm still very happy with how things are going though, as the main squad is still mostly full of the original squad. Most of players I've replaced have been the backups, as well as a few of the subs. The major issue has been that the youth players have been talents, but as we are still semi-pro, they don't develop as much as they would if I could get them to train full time. As I wrote, I am very happy with the season, and we did eventually reach the playoffs again this year, albeit as the lowest placed team rather than the highest one. So we faces Strømsgodset, arguably one of the teams with the best squad this season, and we lost there to end out run a bit earlier than last year. This season, the young player I'm most excited about is Herman Bratseth 26a. He is shaping up to be a really good attacking player for us. He didn't produce that much this season, but seeing as it was his first, I'm very happy with it. Oscar Vainio 26b got a lot more matches than I had hoped, but he is pretty much our 2nd choice left back, and when the 1st choice gets injured he was the one to put in. Didn't play amazing, but had some good matches. Norgesmesterskapet: We beat Åskollen and Ull/Kisa before we lost to Åsane in the 3rd round. Finally got the board to approve some things again, and they were in a good mood to allow all these things. Around the world 2nd team: They only played friendlies this season. U19s: After getting relegated last season they were back in the Oslo Kretsserie G19. They crushed the league, and went into the promotion playoff. There they beat Åsane and Start to bounce straight back into the OBOS Nasjonal G19. NM G19: They beat Bjarg before losing to Strømsgodset in the 2nd round. I've tried to watch a few of the matches when I remember, though its way easier to watch the national team games on ESPN. Saint Lucia, for example, has regional "all star" teams made up from the clubs in their region, for example Vieux Fort South would include players from the teams in that area. Grenada has something similar, those are the two I remember, but there might be more. The file you're using has effectively got the Caribbean shield, just integrated fully into the NACL. I'm wondering whether to separate it or not, as it's nice to have a trophy. Unfortunately they only live-streamed the matches and didn't record them, but I watched the mall (even posted on Twitter a best XI in my opinion). I'm hoping next year they do record it. Apologies for off-topic, but just to note I hope to have a dynamic NACL and feeding competitions, but not sure how to achieve that!

Popular Post korvalis
Korvalis - Lidingö - Season 1 2025/26 Drawing nearly half your games is certainly a novel way to win the league, Thankfully on the run in for the last 3 games, it was the teams in 12th and 13th, before a final day show down with Sollentuna, with the team just needing a draw to lift the trophy. Thankfully the team is well versed in drawing matches, and saw them off on the final day with a somewhat nervy 2-2 draw, after being 2 up at half time. Full results for the season in the Spoiler below. Spoiler Early assessment was okay, if a little biased towards the left side of the pitch Full intake had a couple of good players who could easily slot in to first team straight away, Ungh and Hartzell did so for the last couple of games of the season, both contributes with some goals also. Finally, as a bonus at the end of the season, and helped by the fact there was a four month period before the next season, I could finally do some more paperwork. Virtual Male
I'm at a loss, we're creating chances but can't convert and at the other end we're letting in nearly twice the number of goals we should be. It's got to be a player quality thing right?

Popular Post Gonner
Austria Salzburg, Season 1, 2024/2025 - Mid-season update The Austrian 2. Liga has a lengthy winter break, lasting from the end of November to almost the end of February. So this allows for a quick post in Winter to discuss the first half of the season and the intake. Overall I am happy enough about that first half. We should be safe from relegation if Stripfing, Young Violets and Dornbirn do not change their rhythm drastically. We can clearly see a top 6, then 7 teams in 8 points and the three teams battling relegation. Our first intake is said to be "Excellent" even though only one "A" is far from what I have been able to see on this topic. Luckily, it is at a position where some fresh blood is needed. Before we get going for the second half of the season, I finally manage to get something accepted by the board, they agree to improve our youth recruitment.
Popular Post the_hdk
Transfer History Well season took a while due to real life commitments. Buts it's finally here. J1 and we survived. Just about (3 points from relegation) but we stayed. In the end we dit well. Our Brazilian youth ERNESTO PAULO broke into first team at center defending position. Grew into a 4 star ability player so that is great. Our midfield youths are not improving anymore so i'm kinda disapointed about it. But than we have TANAKA. our Star striker. 18 years old. And already TopScorer in J1! with 30 goals in 37 games. He got called up for Japan but did not play yet. So good chance he will be our first producted international. Bad thing is that major European clubs are interested. PSG offered already 3 mln. He does not want to extend. He still has a contract for 2 more years...but that means I will probably have to sell him next year. Lets hope his value will go up a bit and we can cash on him. Our board is mad at me as I failed to repair the club's financial situation. We went from nealry 3 mln in debt into 2mln in plus...but that seems still bad for some reason. I even sold MISAWA just to get extra bucks. J1 deserved new Kits and a new banner!. Away kit inspired by Ajax, Johan Cruijffs main club. Seemed fitting. MBAPPE with his 4th Ballon d'Or. Fun to see BARDGHJI and YAMAL in the top3. In Japan VISSEL KOBE with their first championship. New Chairman MISAWA left for our biggest transfer so far. 1,2mln. And than this happened. Moniezzzzz. Now we are in the plus. YASUDA Intake 2029 Looked good on paper but once the players joined the u-18...only 4 players had higher than 3 star potential so this intake seems to be really bad. No Foreign intake. KOBAYASHI seems as the best of the bunch. Already at 2,5 star ability so that is great. Love the pace. Let's see. Will probably join the first team as I will have to sell soon.

MaxeyN17
IFK Lidingö - Season 1 Review A very successful season on the pitch as we win the league title at our first attempt and secure promotion to Division 1 and the third tier of Swedish football. Only a mid-table finish was expected but some stellar performances throughout the season put us in the title challenge and we ended up winning the league by 8 points. And it was all done using a grey goalkeeper until the final few games of the season where I was lucky enough to get one in our first youth intake. League Table, Squad and Transfers Spoiler Youth Intake Spoiler All of the candidates were signed with a handful moving straight into the first team. Miloš Marić definitely the standout player from the intake. Spoiler The board expect us to be relegated so there isn't much pressure on us in our first season in the third tier but I'm privately hoping/expecting we can carry on our good momentum and survive the first season at least.
Popular Post GS_Ball
After simulating two seasons in Czech Republic I started my first youth academy challenge with newly promoted Banik Sokolov. Things to consider: - This challenge is on FM22 - Not attempting to get on any leader boards - All facilities, recruitment etc. ranked 'adequate' Now on to Season 3 of the save Some interesting points (and some comical): - Two consecutive 9th place finishes - Accidentally had youth recruitment assigned to my assistant manager and not the head of youth development 😂 - However, he brought through Ladislav Kucera CA 1.5* who has quickly developed in to our best player by star rating - The board also decided to downgrade our training facilities because of 'changes in technological advancements' Never seen this before but it had to happen on a youth academy challenge! Doing well in our third season. Some of our academy players are really starting to shine. I might post again once we get promoted to the Czech First Division 🙂 Current squad at time of writing: Season 2 Table: Edited November 1, 2023 by GS_Ball
Popular Post RCola1
Hi guys, This my first post on the forum. I joined specifically to try this challenge. I choose to do Northern Ireland. I tried a save before this current one, but I got relegated in the second season after most of my key players got injured, including the goalkeeper. I re-simmed and got a different team, Belfast Celtic. The squad is slightly better, and results have been really good so far. Almost all my players have acceleration and speed over 10 so it seems I'm just blitzing teams physically. After a shaky start I'm top of the league with a game in hand in January. I have only two center backs in the team, so we will see if I can ride out my luck. Unfortunately, almost all the players are over 30, so we might fall off a cliff even if we win the league. Even though I almost exclusively do lower league saves, I always try a short passing game at first. Usually it doesn't work well and I switch up, but I've been using a 4-3-3 with a false 9 and an inverted winger and forward, and a wing back on attack. Because all my players are so fast, there are able to flood the space left open by the false 9 dropping deep and then they eventually cut it back to him in the middle. My main striker has 17 so far.
Popular Post thomas_e
Energie Cottbus Season Summary 2027 - 2028 A solid, but uneven season Our third year in the 2nd Bundesliga. We finished 7th place, which is our best result yet. I moved four players from the U19 team in to the starting 11 which also forced me to change tactics. This led to some uneven performances, but this is part of the challenge! We started the season poorly, really struggling to find any form what so ever. This changes around October and all of a sudden we played like an experienced top-tier side! At one point we found ourselves in a promotion spot, which made me very optimistic! The good times wasnt going to last though and the last couple of months of the season we played very poorly. A big highlight of the season was the performances and development of Michael Greif, by far our best player at 17 years old. I just fear the day that Bayern or Dortmund come knocking at the door.. We had another good intake, maybe without any standout players, but plenty of potential and good personalities. Popular Post Ikthop
Hello fellow admirers of 16yo boys. Long time lurker here. Always enjoyed reading about people's exploits on these YAC topics, so I decided to give this challenge a try for the first time. I went with an English club: Spoiler STARTING SQUAD: At first I thought we had a good squad, seeing how we have 28 players, and at this stage not having to use a GK as an outfield player / use grey players is a luxury. Unfortunately, 5 players were transfer-listed before I took over, and now I can't convince them to stay. We also have 4 other players who will be out of contract before the season begins, including our best player, Diogo Freitas-Gouveia, who is not interested in renewing his contract. In terms of personalities, it's not looking good. We have no potential mentors. My expectations for this first season are: - Do not face/find any game breaking bug. - Do not get relegated/sacked.

heutheo
FC Drava Ptuj - Slovenia Season 2 - 2025/26 History Spoiler Start | Season 1 League Spoiler Welcome welcome! Second season is finished, top half this time. Really consistent season, no negative streaks at all. Home record top 4 of the league, away record bottom 4, I think that summarizes it pretty well. In terms of promotion and relegation the "new" teams left the league after 1 year. After 2 seasons nearly every team in the league got taken over by some business men but as it seems none of them are now saudi rich or anywhere near it. We maanged to get a third sponsorship deal covering up for the affiliate team costs. But we still losing money, not much but in 4th season I guess we go into the reds. Back to the football, the first 3 players from our U19 debuted... ... with Sinisa and Marko already 2 of them going straight into the season's best eleven. Dino was our man upfront, the man can score like a norwegian ballon d'or runner up. The midfield feeds him with juicy passes. Nothing special at the award ceremony, but the first regen got a trophy. Our center back Marko is a passing machine (with some errors). That a croatian is the best player in a slovenian team, shows the current state of football here quite well. Stadium Spoiler 2 new high passion fans bought a season ticket this time. We're making progress... ...more people come and watch our games. Because of Beltinci we dropped to 5th place, next season they are gone and we reach for Tabor's numbers. (hopefully) El Clasico once again was a crowd puller with two losses for us. But since we have like 19 fans noone really cares about the result. Intake Spoiler Decent intake again, unfortunately this time they are all turning 17 in May 2027 - after the season. Kristian is the fancy striker don't know what he's capable of with that 17 Flair, probably turning up at Tour de France with all the bicycle kicks. Darko gets the crowd going with his crosses, but gets blown away by the wind. Friday joined on a Wednesday and is our first foreign youth player. Drava Ptuj has a nigerian affiliate and that now bear fruit. He is also the wind that blows Darko away looking at his players traits. Summary Thanks for reading!

Popular Post The_Gato_In_Goal
Haringey Borough - Review Season 2 We managed to stay up again, so can't complain even if we took a slight step back. In the beginning of the season, we were challenging for the playoff places. Once the goals dried up and we began our 21 game winless streak, things looked more dire. Luckily we we're able to bounce back against the relegation teams and secure our safety. Oddly enough, we managed to win away to league champions Southend, one of only 3 losses on the year for them. The youth from last year didn't really take steps forward, making me think it was just a lousy intake. In other news, a rough time for Worthing as they fail to go up despite putting up 107 points. I've never seen such a top heavy league with 5 teams over 100 points. Crashed out of the cups this year unfortunately. I'd say it gave us time to focus on the league, but we got to focus on the winless streak instead. Temi contiues to carry us, winning the league scoring title this year. Spoiler Class of 2025 Update Callum Graham 01a played in 20(12) games this season and had 7 assists. He hasn't developed much and is still too short to really make an impact. Spoiler I gave Rayon Messam 01j 16(10) matches despite his clear technical shortcomings. I figured a tall winger with pace can play regardless of the rest of the attributes and he repaid my faith with 3 goals and 5 assists and even a Player of the Match award. Spoiler Kenneth John 01d was the primary cover in midfield and left back, and he didn't really perform well. Got 15(9) appearances and improved a little. Spoiler The star of the bunch was actually the Class of 2024 youth who came through the intake in the holiday year. Brian Inglis made 38 appearances, mostly starts, and averaged a 6.83 rating while developing nicely and just turning 18. Spoiler A better intake this time around, signed the tagged players and a few of them have the potential to break into the first team in a couple years. Managed to secure 2 more coaching courses, but no other upgrades. Finances look secure as our payroll is still relatively low and will only decrease next season. Nothing in, but star keeper Dillon Barnes left before the season ticked over to join Dag & Red, where he earned 16 shutouts in the VNL.
Popular Post Braumiller
Season 02 - 2025/26 FC Biel-Bienne Well, an interesting season for sure! The good? Several youths are now first team regulars and a handful of them were not expected. Our starting left back is one of last intakes 'good' rated youths and not the 'elite' rated left back we got in. Due to a dearth of central defenders (and senior players complaining about that lack of depth) I threw a youth in at DC for the season and he mainly swam (and didn't sink! lol). Due to having two elite rated strikers and a quality existing striker (for our level) I tried to implement a 2 striker formation in the first half of the season. While we did ok, we were far too soft. I eventually reverted back to my old favorite formation (41221 - DM and IF's) and began retraining both youth strikers to play out wide as inside forwards on either side. That went well, thankfully! Orlando Kwasie (YP01 - Elite) is apparently a handy little player. The dutch capped him at u19 level while he was 16 and his transfer value is 1.3m-2.6m, FAR above anyone else in the squad. The bad? Unhappy players. This time not with me (directly), but with the lack of depth and/or quality at the club. I was able to placate a couple, but others not so much. We are losing 2 of our best players this offseason and two more (including our only decent GK!) are going to explore their options at the end of their contracts..... We finished 4th this year, which was a great improvement and we had an outside chance of the playoff spot right up until 3 games to go. Next season would have been interesting for sure, playing a full season in our new approach and with a full squad, but our dominant DC and DM are off.... DC next year will be a 16 year old and a plan B I haven't quite decided on yet! lol Youth Intake Actually decent. The preview was horrendous. One 'C' and the rest 'E' at best..... But there is definitely potential in there. Both AMCs will be retrained to MC playmakers and Gashi got a couple of short sub appearances near the end of the year. Neither add any steel to the middle of the park, but both can pass the ball around. Transfers - One big outgoing, after he was unhappy with the squad and Aarau (last seasons Champs in our division) came knocking. Next year.... Not sure how this will go. We were on an upward trajectory, but the outgoings and unknowns in defense will temper expectations. With the transfer funds we were able to upgrade the training facilities and also managed a few junior coaching and youth recruitment upgrades. Training facilities, youth facilities, junior coaching and youth recruitment are now all rated as 'Good' which I am delighted about. Our financial projections suffered because of the upgrades over the past 2 years. Originally we were making a handy profit month over month, now we are losing 50k plus a month....
Popular Post Potat
FC Maruyasu Okazaki Season 1 - 2024 (Final Attempt at the torturous challenge) Preview Manager Profile | Club Profile Going into the season expectations were low and the aim was to simply survive relegation and try to build from that. Season Review We managed to do a lot better than survive in the league as we made the playoffs securing our place with a draw in the final game of the season. The cups... well we don't need to talk about those. Despite making the playoffs we were bad, like really really bad. We kept 2 clean sheets all season and conceded 23 goals from set pieces, we did, however, have the 5th best offense despite it taking 13 games for either of my strikers to score their first goals. Statistically, we were the worst team in the league for passing, crossing, heading, and set-piece defense even though we were focusing our play down the wings. Youth Intake Intake Preview | Youth Intake First-year in Japan is more about getting the academy off the ground than it is about the players you get. Expectations were on the floor and was pleasantly surprised that we had one or two competent players. Youth Prospects Toshihiro Matsumoto | Kazuhiro Osaka | Yushi Sakai None of them got any league minutes at the end of the season due to the playoff push but will probably get some in pre-season. (Slightly worried that the top 3 prospects have a combined jumping reach of 9) Facilities & Upgrades There was a slight panic when 3 months in, the board was denying all requests, but after a good patch of form, the board felt generous allowing me to upgrade everything possible except for getting a reserve team. edit: After typing all this and progressing a couple of days the board announced we will be getting our own 5k capacity stadium despite having the lowest attendance in the league. While already sharing a 20k capacity stadium anyway seems like money is going to be tight over the next 2 years. Next Season If I have learned anything from my previous attempts it's that the first season is always the best, so I'm expecting a tough relegation battle next year as that seems to be the way all my saves go, not made any easier by having a squad of 44 players to keep happy as I have nowhere to put any of the academy players. Gonner
Austria Salzburg, Season 1, 2024/2025 Season Recap : We finish our first season in 9th, 6 points ahead of the 10th-ranked team. We were seen as favorites for relegation so this is quite positive. Finances : Révélation Nothing really noteworthy here, the interesting bit will be to compare season after season. Squad : Révélation Our tactic(s) all have the same base, a 4-4-2 "Wing Play". I am only adjusting if I want to play my wingers as midfielders or in a more advanced position. On the left wing, Fötschl is equally adept in both positions, whereas Fonjga is more comfortable further back, in a ML position. On the right, Sorda likes to play as an AMR with an Inside Forward position, his back-up Schwaighofer can play both AMR & MR but as a winger. Fötschl & Sorda are my 2 best wingers so I ended up tweaking my formation and making it somewhat assymetric. Wiedl is more comfortable defending only but Sandmayr can play as a WB so they complement that formation well. If we look at my squad stats, we can clearly see that I have zero depth for my central defenders. I was lucky they never got injured, I tried my best to give some playing time to Idrissa Bah against lower-ranked teams because he is already my third best option. I still do not have any real left full-back, Wiedl plays there and Bah covers the odd game where Wiedl is hurt or suspended. In the midfield, Volkert is our star player but he wants out so Todorovic will probably become my Ball Winning Midfielder for lack of good options. Wings are pretty well covered as stated above, and some of my wingers can play striker if needed, but there is a clear gap between the Dorfmayr - Zottl pair and the rest. Admin & Facilities : Révélation Around the end of February, our President was looking to sell the club. My hopes of getting a sugar daddy were quickly killed by reading the following sentence : "There are no plans to provide the club with any investment at this stage." Nevertheless, at the end of the season our training facilities had lost a step, and to my surprise the board agreed to some work. Youth Intake : This is the part where everyone goes crazy. And for the first intake as a manager, I was in for quite a surprise... As a reminder, this was our intake preview : I was super excited to get a Central Defender to bridge the gap between our two starters & the rest of the team and... WHERE IS MY CENTRAL DEFENDER ENES ? WHAT DID YOU DO WITH HIM ??? Like I have seen for others on the topic, the intake distribution and grading does not seem to work, but I have taken a screenshot of all elite & top talents (my apologies, I took the screenshots before tagging the players). Dominik Abesser : We do not play in a formation that needs a Defensive Midfielder at the moment, but I have already begun to train him as a Central Midfielder with a Ball Winning Midfielder role. He and Todorovic are clearly our future duo in midfield. Resolute personality and 16 in Determination are the icing on the cake. Révélation Maximilian Bandlow : Only 15 but already super fast. If he can add 3 or 4 points in his technical abilities I can foresee him running up and down the right line. Good determination grade ! Révélation Fatih Gül : I was initially hoping to get some depth in defense behind our 2 starters, but I think instead I got depth behind my two strikers. Gül seems to be the most "first-team ready" of our intake and I believe he will be fighting for a starter spot in no time. Révélation Justin Amborn : Another promising striker. Seems further from the first team than Gül but could be a good option if he progresses well. Might train him to play Inside Forward on the right wing. Révélation Kristijan Varga : A promising goalie a year seems to be the norm. He has better mental traits than Tsvetan Dimitrov, our 2024 GK trainee who has barely progressed in a year. Maybe Varga will soon be our GK3. Révélation Nils Fellner : Left wing is clearly one of our strong point in the first team and I do not believe Nils will be able to crack it, but I will pay attention to his progression and may call him up if I have several injuries. Révélation Petko Kaishev : I took a screenshot because he was the only one who could "maybe" be our vaunted Central Defender. I doubt he will ever see first-team minutes. Révélation Game in a nutshell :

Do you play bigger sides to try and earn a little extra cash? Or go against tiny clubs to build up morale? I always go for morale unless the club is so broke its to the point where you can't re-up contracts because the board won't approve any salary. Usually provides you with an early boost to the season performance until reality sets in...
Daveness85
Dulwich Hamlet - Season 1 Review Not too much to say other than I was super glad we had Danny Mills this season and have managed to extend his contract for another year! The whole season was carried by us putting the ball on his head as often as possible during each 90 minutes, he managed to stay injury-free and we performed really well because of it. I think that if we had a bit more squad depth to cover serious injuries elsewhere we may have made the playoffs but I'm also fine with spending another year building with the new youth that came through. The intake looked decent but I was pretty disappointed in the lack of DMs and STs predicted to come through as we only have 1 decent DM currently and no real backup for Danny Mills up top. The intake was pretty much as previewed but there are a couple of attackers who may be able to fill in up top if need be. 9 elite talents was a pleasant surprise and although none of them are going to be setting the world on fire anytime soon, there are at least 3 who will go straight into the first team and a bunch more who will be filling in on a regular basis. (Players are nicknamed after my stream viewers!) TOP 3 TALENTS Simon is an exciting prospect able to play as WB on either side. With a professional personality I'd expect him to progress nicely given the amount of minutes he's likely to play. Technique isn't great and he's a tad short but he performed well enough in the last few games of the season. Jasondubu is a pacey Inside Forward who will get a lot of matches for us next year. From what I've seen of him he likes to dribble and is capable of moments of magic but his lack of determination may hamper his development. I'd still expect him to do well for us at this level over the next year or two. Jubee is a really solid option for us in defence or even in the midfield and they're an aerial threat up top via set pieces. They will probably start around half the games next season as with the low natural fitness of 3 they got extremely tired after each game they played and couldn't be risked for the following fixture. There's the proof of no transfers!! Time for me to crack on with season 2!
Popular Post MaxeyN17
IFK Lidingö - Season 2 Review A very good season and we comfortably avoided relegation in the end. As you can see, we concede a lot of goals but luckily we're pretty good at sticking the ball in the opponent's net. At one point early in the season we were in the promotion hunt but it was never going to last as most of the league is considerably better than us. Another good intake this year, including three players who instantly made the first team squad. Improvements made to our junior coaching and youth recruitment means we should be able to replenish the first team squad on a yearly basis. League Table, Squad and Transfers Spoiler Youth Intake Spoiler Again, all the candidates were signed. Three went straight into the first team: Spoiler Again, we're just expected to fight against relegation. I'll be changing our tactics for this season in the hopes of becoming a bit more solid. I think we're good enough to finish mid-table again. Edited November 2, 2023 by MaxeyN17

Ended up making a promise to 'develop youth players at centre-back'. Luckily it has not backfired. At least for now. I tend to favour smaller teams at first, sprinkle in a few for money but always end on smaller teams to keep morale high for the season start.
andydick
Having just returned to this save I'm not sure what I do in this circumstance. Apologies in advance if this has been covered elsewhere. All my players are on Amateur contracts, barring a couple of younglings. Daniel Pinto, amongst others, is in the middle of negotiating a (semi) pro contract. Current Contract Negotiated contract So, as per the parameters of the save, do I: 1 - have to withdraw from these contract negotiations, or 2 - can I let them play out and just accept the outcome (signs or rejects) with no further intervention I'm making the assumption that in no way can I change the current contract offer or re-negotiate it should he reject. Thanks.
Perre8
For a youth only challenge this is an ideal addition in the league, bonusmoney for selecting enough domestic players! This is now for the second Bundesliga in Austria, i am curious if it is also in the first Bundesliga... Are there other leagues wich have these kind of bonussytems? Ahh ok, thanks - I was interpreting "You're allowed to keep any player that starts under contract, you can extend their contracts as often as you like" as only applying to players who have fixed contracts with end dates. I didn't think it applied to Amateur contracts. That is good news though and thanks for clarifying.
