Popular Post Neo_Geo
Time to attempt Iceland, its been one of the countries I've wanted to do but let the fact it was completed in FM22 put me off. I had actually managed Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur (Vikingur Reykjavik) in an Ultimate Challenge and was sad to leave when I had won what I set out to win. I've also changed my managerial attire to better suit the sheer brutality of this challenge paying homage to a certain Netflix series... I'm obviously scarred from FC Fleury 91 so I went with a club who only have two players in their thirties and with £263k in the bank, spending 4.5k a week on wages I might actually stand a chance of getting some improvements to the facilities. The key player is 33 year old (oh oh here we go again!) Þorsteinn Már Ragnarsson a very versatile midfielder, attacking midfielder and striker, the facilities are all at 9 except junior coaching which is 7 (I could have gone with Haukar who have better facilities but it was Haukar that the challenge was completed with). As ever a huge part for me at the start of the save is the kit and how nice of the board to pay tribute to me with a tartan-style home kit (really struggled for sponsors so went with the most obvious choice I could think of!): No time to start this tonight so I suspect I'll get into it tomorrow but I am looking forward to it and with only 22 games in the league (other than the play-offs) it should be quite a short season (the premier division is also 22 games but they then have a split with a further 5 games but still sub-30 game seasons) As my FC Fleury 91 save had attempted to have a Brazilian team in France (that failed miserably without a single Brazilian intake or staff member) I am just going to play this one as it comes with no backstory, no underlying crusade, no locked in tactics etc. Edited October 16 by Neo_Geo
NielsPanis
Hi all, I'm doing the YAC-save in Scotland. Now beginning season 3. Promoted to the cinch league one in the first season by winning the play-offs. Became 9th in our first season in the new league. We won the play-offs again and stayed in the league. The question that rises is: Will my U18 unter a competitive league? They have not played a competitive league game in the first 2 seasons and we weren't invited this season. Will I eventually after upping the reputation/facilites? Hope all goes well with you. XaW
Ooof @Neo_Geo, rough! I know the feel though, as I'm struggling a bit too in the new season. My goalkeeper got poached during the summer, and my 2nd choice is rather bad, but then he got injure for 3 months, so now I'm using a 2 silver star goalkeeper... So yeah, fun times! Just trying to deal with it as best as possible until my 1 gold star goalkeeper comes back... Good luck in Iceland, btw!
darren1983
Going to take a short break from FM I think. When we thought the game was coming next month I was playing a lot to try and finish before FM25 and as a result I feel a bit burnt out with FM now. Now I've got till March there's no rush. I'll still be about in here every few days or so but any questions or completions just tag me and I'll see it.

The youth team never got into a league, they just had the cup so I arranged friendlies for them. However, after 1 season in L1 the board created a reserve team and they do play in a competitive league so I played my youth players in that team. I presume there will be a youth team league when you hit the Premier League.

djsterry
5th season update We survive again, this time with a couple of games to spare, finances still showing as insecure and I still haven't made any progress on youth recruitment etc. This one may be my toughest challenge but feeling a little less pessimistic about it now. Took drastic measures with the team and released quite a few players to cut the wage bill to a measly 10k a week . I have 18 players in total and only 7 players over 20, desperate times and all that. Youth intake I'm only taking 2-3 players a season atm, basically any player showing 3 star current ability or above My big problem is I have no fans 30k stadium and I'm only getting 2k attendances on average. This is going to be a long challenge It looks like my objective every year is just going to be to cling on in the league and hope I can gradually improve my rep etc I've managed to defy the odds every year so far One thing I like about this league so far is the 30 game seasons, I get knocked out of the cup every year 1st round so only 31 games. It's a nice quick season to fly through, so onto the next one

kingjericho
Rödinghausen - Germany 3.Liga - 2026/27 - 14th We keep holding on as we try to get our youngsters to develop. We now have three important starters and a handful more rotation options, which means the transition to a younger squad continues, but I don't want to get rid of all my older players and endanger a relegation in a future season. In other news, the board decided that instead of improving facilities they want to build a new stadium so we now have a debt to pay and no money to do it...

Popular Post HbG93
Seasonal Review 2033/34 The Squad I'm feeling a bit mixed about the team nowadays. I have some exciting guys in the pipeline for the defence, but I lack people in the front. Another rarity is midfielders that have playmaker build. Quite a similar team from last year some new youths that haven't played much yet. The ones who had more impact was Sirri 32g, Di Carlo 33a and Superbi 33b. The latter two I fully intend to keep matching as much I can. Superbi 33b is in that awkward spot of despite being given first time chances just isn't growing yet. I will sell Consagra 28d as he wants about 4 times his current contract. The Table Player Spotlight Mantineo 30d keeps improving and has become a quite fine goalkeeper! He has completely parked the long-serving Trasciani. Yet another year as our most consistent performer for Capacci 27a. Lastly, let's take a moment to appreciate Sirri 32g whom been seeing good growth across this year. Still far away from being a good defender for this level but he's still young with growing room. Transfers C. Tenaglia 30i becomes my biggest sale so far signing with Palermo. Other than that there's some loan outs. In general we need to start selling more too fund our rather poor infrastructure. As mentioned I do intend to sell Consagra whom can hopefully catch a similar if not higher fee. I suspect having to make many tough decisions in the near future. Staff changes So, I started reading up again on personalities and media-handling. As such I ended up making big changes to my staff in hopes of influencing the intakes more. Youth Intake Class of 2034 has the makings of ending up as our most impactful intake so far! I have been wanting more attackers for a while now. And well here we are given 3 in go that are all promising with good personalities. We are even given a new solid looking goalkeeper talent granted Mantineo 30d has progressed so much, I doubt Demba will get many chances anytime soon. Neo_Geo
2 hours ago, Gersdude123 said: They are at 2 star and are adequate atm. There are a lot of factors involved as the cost of youth facility improvements will vary depending on nation and reputation of the club you are at. That cost obviously factors in to the boards decision to approve it or not based on current balance, projected balance and both your and your chairperson's determination. In Croatia I had £1.6m for the youth facility improvement that took me to 10 (or 2.5 stars) at the time the club were 2.5 star reputation. I'd say that in order to get them to agree to it you'd need enough money in the bank to still be in the black at the end of the season following an investment like that. Portugal may well have a higher cost for facilities as its reputation will be a bit higher than Croatia but that might give you something to work with. The previous one that took it to 9 was £650k.

Popular Post JD78
Hungary - Season 2035-36 Our first attempt at the Europa League and still trying to topple Ferencvaros. Europe Following last season's Conference League Final defeat I was confident we might do ok in the Europa League but we didn't make the group stage and dropped into the Conf League. Good set of fixtures again and we topped the group after the league stage. We then beat Basel, Fc Twente and Strasbourg to reach our second Conf League final. We were playing Atalanta and scored after 4 minutes and it was a very dull game after that with hardly a highlight to speak of. It stayed 1 nil to the end, winners! League 2nd again. Very close to Ferencvaros but we lost by 2 points. They're doing very well in this save and consistently make the Champ league group stage. They're improving every season so it's tough to catch up. I was also a little unlucky with the fixtures having games against the top teams in the division around the crunch European fixtures. Squad players still not quite there yet. Champions League next season. Youth team Won their league easily. Lost to Man City in the semi final of the UEFA youth league. Youth Intake Another good one I think. I'm getting stacked in some positions such as AMC but struggling for a CB or 2. Kun looks like a good prospect. Last season's best prospect, Farkas, went straight into the team but hasn't really developed much at all. Still time though. Facilities Nothing has changed. I was hoping to get a reputation boost after being runner up in the Conf League last season but that didn't happen. I wonder if we'll get a boost after actually winning it this year. We need something to boost us that extra 5-10% to get dominant in the league.
Winski
Ungmennafélag Selfoss Time for a new challenge. I went back to my Danish save with BK Skjold, but I really disliked the contract-thing. Some of my youngsters, who were on a semi-pro contract, got poached by bigger clubs for free. And although I could give them bigger contracts, but I'm not willing to give all my youngsters a big contract, just to avoid that they are leaving the club for free. That would have cost me a lot of money. So I decided to try a new save on Iceland. A country I love to manage in. My favorite club, ÍR, is not available for the Youth Only Challenge anymore, as they are playing in the second division(1. Deild) from season 2024. So I holidayed season 2024 until december 2024, and chose UMF Selfoss as my club! A club with nice club colours. And quite a large squad (32 players), so that's very welcome. There is one arranged transfer, as you can see on the screenshot. So I'm allowed to play with him, if I need him. And to my big surprise I saw that Selfoss qualified for the Europa Conference League They won the Cup last season, and so qualified for the Conference League. That's for the very first time that I start a Youth Only save, and play European football from the start! Edited October 17 by Winski

Thanks, @Neo_Geo! Your decision to join Vikingur O. triggered me to also start a save on Iceland. So yeah, thanks for that Ah, nice that you make kits for all of the clubs! I use a (2D) kitpack from FM Slovakia, for the playable divisions. So I have 2D kits for the bigger clubs. But for the lower league clubs, I haven't got any kits. But I can't really bother about that, as you won't play that often against lower league clubs. But I do miss 3D kits. I always make my own 2D and 3D kits for the clubs I'm managing. But I don't have a 3D kitpack for Icelandic clubs. So yeah, maybe I'll do the same as you. But I'll first want to play a couple of seasons, to see if I stick to this save.
Popular Post XaW
XaW - Cardiff Draconians - Season 2027/28 (Season 4) - JD Cymru Premier Squad | Transfers | Finances This was a strange season for us, as it looked really bad for a while, but we suddenly found some excellent form towards the latter part and in the end we finished better than last season. We got 2 points more than last season, scored more, but also conceded more. The main reason we struggled early on was because the goalkeeper from the original squad got poached (by a team from the league below!), and we've never really gotten a good one to replace him. And when even the poor one got a long term injury, we had to use some even poorer ones! A few times I think a cone would have been a better choice as it would at least not dive away from shots... But we kept in there and eventually morale picked up and we finished very strong. It probably also helped that we faced the other teams in the lower bracket, so we didn't face the best teams. A very surprising league winner though, as newly promoted Britton Ferry won the league! As far as I can tell, it's their first ever season in the top flight and I can't see any reason that sticks out as to why they would, so guess a mini-Leicester season, perhaps? A fun little thing at any rate. The intake at least gave me a semi decent goalkeeper, so we have a new first choice next season, not that he is amazing, but he is at least slightly better than what we had! Welsh Cup: We beat Cwmbran Town, Wattsville, and Llantwit Major before we lost to Briton Ferry in the quarter final. Nathaniel MG Cup: We beat Afan Lido, Pontypridd, Guilsfield, and Swansea Uni to reach the final. There we faced Holywell, and interestingly, this meant we never faced a top tier team this whole cup run! We managed to beat them to claim our first league cup title! Best players from the academy: Bradley Gregory 25c - Keeps scoring, but might get sidelined next season, if I'm honest. Kieran Jones 25a - A better season than earlier, but still struggle to dominate matches. Jayden Burns 26a - I'm turning him into my Halfback, and he is improving, but he is not up to scratch yet. New club records: Most goals in a match - Michael Brown 27e - 3 goals Most league apps for the club - Danny Jones - 118 apps I got a couple of improvements accepted this season. Popular Post Koetzer
NK Kustošija Zagreb | Season 2028/29 We didn’t play much worse than last season, but had an awful underperformance both in scored and conceded goals. Cup I had no plans for the cup and left the game against Rijeka to my assistant with a heavily rotated squad, but somehow we won in extra time, got easier draws in next rounds and reached the final! We even scored first in both final games… Well, Lokomotiva had a great season after returning to the top league and we were really lucky to beat them two years ago. Conference League Defeated Slovenian neighbours and lost to Basel (future quarter-finalists) by a single goal, good result for an unexpected debut. Squad stats Z.Šupe *26b – not as productive as last season, but remained our top goalscorer. Martin Šroler – still the best assistant. Marino Kukoč – defense and attack were way too inconsistent, not a big surprise that a central midfielder had the best average rating. V.Hughes *25a – missed the start due to playing at the Olympics (USA reached quarter-final), wanted to leave but eventually signed a new contract. Giovanni Jerolimov – improved quite a lot during the season and became a solid first choice at goal. Transfers – Chelfi joined Salernitana from Serie B, mostly played from the bench there without any goals or assists. Youth intake (preview) Spoiler Biasiol *29a | Dobrić *29b | Tokic *29c | Sršen *29d The striker looks promising (though it isn’t the position that we need to improve now). Popular Post mpm2342
Crewe United 2044 Season Update Season 20 Update: Finally, a victory in the Premierrship!! The League went down to the very last day again and it fell in our favour as we drew and Linfield lost this season. It has definitely turned into a two team league and hopefully we can move ahead soon to be consistent winners.. We are slowing climbing the ranking ladder, passing Linfield this season as the highest ranked Northern Ireland team. Got an upgrade on the youth facilities with another one on the way. Transfers: Spoiler Youth Candidates: Unfortunately, I was so caught up in the finishing stretch against Linfield, that I forgot to screen shot the intake this past season. I have the spreadsheet though and you can see that we have two players who will hopefully eventually make the first team squad. Our first model citizen and he is a good player as well, so pretty happy about that. I haven't updated the nations for a while as they have all been Northern Ireland / Ireland. This intake brought us a bunch of new nations: Jamaica, Brazil, Poland and Lithuania. We also got a second nation of Gambia. Millar eclipsed the 100 goal mark in league play and is still going. Squad Update: Nice bit of growth all around with the overall squad growing steadily. It's hard to get enough quality training in with the number of matches we play, so the development seems to be "lumpy" for the players. We got a new CB (McMullan) in this intake, hopefully he will be ready to step into the first team next season. Going to give him a year on the reserves to get training time. The squad grew 0.9 rating points and is now above the Premiership target. I will reset the target for next season as the next goal is English Championship. Once the squad rating hits about 70, we should be in the running to win the Champions league. I expect that in 10-15 seasons at the current rate of growth .... Northern Ireland is certainly a grind Bingo Our 16 year old GK got the first international cap for the club! We got a couple more league ones - highest rated, most players.
Popular Post Kelb
East Kilbride F.C. Introduction Since downloading FM24, I was looking for a save idea and I stumbled onto this challenge. It reminded me one my core FM memory, a Lifeban save I did with RC Lens on FM13 (I think). During the last 2 days, I’ve read the through the 16 first pages of the thread and it motivated me to create an account, start my save and start to post to keep track of the save and share it with the community ! Why East Kilbride F.C. ? I really wanted to do a save in Scotland. In fact, before discovering the challenge I started a save with East Fife FC to see how it goes down in the Scotland 4th tier. I chose East Kilbride because, despite the clear ugliness of the badge, I kinda like it ? I don’t really know why, it feels unique and catch my eye. Also, the club motto seems consistent with the challenge. To quote the club official website : “The club motto is "a priori" or "based on what went before", as a reminder of the original club, the two founding modern teams and the other clubs which joined during 2011 and 2012”. If I successfully bring the club to the top, it will be based on what went before, all the young players that played for the club and helped bring it to its peak. The Kits : The Manager : The East Kilbride F.C. Homegrown Hall of Fame : During this save, I will keep a record of the youngsters that helped significantly to build the club. I won’t judge them solely on their abilities, but really on the contribution they made. For example, If a newgen defender help us win the cinch League 2 title by carrying the defense, he will be there. If we reach the Premiership, if a newgen lead the attack and help us win the title over the Old Firm, he will be there. Now, time to start the season !

Popular Post libbyshuss
2062/63 - Austria Wels One Game Away From Tenth Successive Title Win! we were leading all the way and then lost the final game of the season to let Rapid Vienna in. I was way more annoyed than I should be really! But I deliberately played all my promising youth players this season as it looks like I might have the makings of a cracking team with my recent youth pulls. These were the two stand out stars So Champions League.... am I any closer? nope, but some encouraging results. We lost to the eventual winners both PSG games were really close stats wise with similar XG for both teams. So this young team may be up for it!

In particular having to play in the SPFL Trophy really bothered me, the thought of being in that whilst simultaneously being in the champions league group stage just seems so off but it’s hardwired into the game so it’s not like over time the places in that cup no longer go to northern Irish sides. I sometimes regret not continuing my save with Crewe but then I remember the cup games (whilst in Iceland I’m looking at 2 cups and 22 league games). Hopefully you can ride it out as it’s one of the remaining nations (and the last UK nation) yet to be completed.

I remember a save I had on FM19 with Crusaders in Northern Ireland (not a youth only save). I think I had 3 squads. 1 for Champions League, 1 for the regular league and one for the Noddy cups. Seasons took ages! I think it was before I had a simulate match feature as I was using the vanilla skin. I never actually won the Champions League on that save and still think about firing it up to finish it one day!
