Spain are the best team so far. Germany 2nd

But Portugal, France and England have been average at the very best.

While I don't disagree, how many tournaments have we seen where teams look amazing in the groups and get knocked out in the quarter final, while some team who's bored their way through gets to the final? Not that I think this will happen with England, but I can easily see France getting to another final despite not looking too great.

Wash your mouth out

In the knockouts. With a decent draw.  Anything can happen.

Look at all these naysayers who wrote us off after the 2020 group stage:

Still think we're getting pumped in the next round, we're just not creating enough for the players out there.

Despite all the attacking talent, we are comfortably the worst team to watch

So ridiculously dull. Obviously anyone would take winning a group and conceding 1 goal but the performances dont leave you all that positive really.

It's all up to Southgate, we've got all this attacking prowess, but he's hardly using it

Gosh this England team is awful to watch. So much attacking talent as well ….

Forgot Kane was still on :D

let's face it, Kane has offered nothing over 3 games

concern I have moving forward for rest of tournament is how little we still create.

why is Southgate making all these wonderful attacking players we're blessed with at the moment look so average. the running theme is that none of them are anywhere close to replicating their club form and that's a big issue for us.

Just play Saka left back

I tell you what, the rest day is crying out for a forum game of "Date that Gareth bashing" :D

Dredge up an old post, and guess whether it's 2020 or 2022 or 2024... even though the words are the same.

And hopefully with the same end result as those years - no throphy. :D

Oh I’ve never denied I thought Gareth underperformed in 2021, what’s the issue?

Oh yeah, the relentless caution in the group stage is the same :D   But the point us, nobody was really backing us to reach the final at the same stage last year.  And then before you know it we've served up a tactical MASTERCLASS against Germany and smashed Ukraine out of sight.

Tournament football innit.  You're only ever as good as your last game.

I, for one, am delighted that Robs back on the sauce. He was wavering earlier this week and it unnerved me.

The easy answer for me is Spain so that's who I voted for, them and Germany probably the only two to have looked consistently impressive.

But I don't think it'll be that simple. England don't require open heart surgery, if a few changes mean they start clicking then the route to the final opens up. France and Portugal have looked very good in patches too.

EXCITING
