  1. I think it's like that even with the MLS ASG isn't it? So the devs haven't figured it out either. That's cool, I wonder if having more awards like defensive player of the year, midfielder of the week, assist leader, Best XI (of the year and for each month), etc would help the game figure out the all-star team (league on full detail obviously)
  2. CONCACAF Nations League hasn't finished when the game starts (so US/Mexico haven't even qualified yet) so it would be difficult to account for that. You could maybe add a list of "teams" but it would override any default rules that operate there (which is why I've left it blank in my stadiums file). In that case you could add entries for a "specific team" like Mexico and for that specific entry scroll down to "team pool" and add an entry for "get qualified teams for comp", that should only use it if they qualify. And you could give them a seeding and use that with "valid group rules" to put them in a specific group. For the South Americans "specific team" might work without the team pool because they're all under "registered teams" anyway
  3. Can you change fifa position to 0 to 201 or whatever the lowest ranking is? Wonder if that would kickstart it into recognizing the ranking points somehow
  4. Sounds like it's still set to "home" somewhere, either in the fixture date itself, the date, the round, or the offset date, etc
  5. This is a basic file which just makes it so the big US-based tournaments (Copa, Gold Cup, and soon Nations League) are played at a realistic set of stadiums. This replaces the game's usual tendency for stadium_0, stadium_1 etc in the editor with no other information set, which defaults to unrealistic college stadiums like the Big House, Ohio Stadium, and Rose Bowl. Now that I have the rules editable, I'm tempted to do something with the 2025 Gold Cup and invited teams. Was trying to fix the GC playoff being on the wrong date but team mappings seem messed up in FM24 and don't work as well as last year, unless I'm missing something new. DOWNLOAD (BACKUP) TMC Megapack
  6. Default scheduling is broken, there are ways to force it to use specific weekends but given all the county cups and such here - along with teams making random cup runs - that might just cause more problems. SI were claiming scheduling was much better with FM24 but it was a lie as usual. Even some of the default leagues have the issue
  7. Just touching up the Copa América file to reflect the proper brackets IRL. Will work on a 24-team version with a bunch of invitees (just need to edit the CONCACAF Nations League qualifying as well so it's a bit more work)
  8. Most big tournaments can account for new stadia. They use stuff like "stadium_0" which is the biggest stadium in the country that meets the competition requirements (pitch size/type, all-seater etc), and so on down "stadium_1" and onwards. If there aren't enough stadia meeting the competition criteria, I believe that's when it starts creating "[City name] Community Stadium" and such. Always thought it would be cool if local clubs could move into these new grounds but I don't think I've seen it happen. Or you can just specify certain stadia for comps (my Copa file puts it in the right US stadiums this year)
  9. Looks like you've done the opposite actually. Uncheck randomize teams, and check reverse teams. Change 16 to 15 (a range of 0 to 15 is sixteen teams). In the list itself, change the order from bottom to top (I said this method is for teams at the top to come in first)
  10. Wow! No red cards either, just a crazy sh*tshow in the second half of each game. This is the kind of intercontinental drama I was hoping for
  11. Nicely done. I'm in a similar boat, 24.3 basically broke USL-C in my US database and it's put me off doing anything. They really don't care about CONCACAF and my experience with the US researcher saw him blaming others for his mistakes, which along with this being the final update means it's barely worth reporting (not like they fix anything for that region anyway)
  12. Yeah, if no one else is encountering that issue (and looks like you have loads of other DBs enabled) this one's not on me
  13. By default, they just create two versions of the same guy, sometimes they don't even have the same details. Often one is just a "director" somewhere. Kind of annoying to have duplicates running around in the future if they leave the club but since you can't actually click on them (while they're an active board member) I guess it's a compromise for SI
  14. To make the teams at the top of the teams list come in first, I have stage/general/"reverse teams" checked, then under "team list changes" I add an entry with the start index and end index reflecting the overall amount of teams (so, 0 to 9 for ten teams in this stage). "Reverse teams" is checked here as well (but not "randomize teams")
  15. Brilliant. Does "sort by world ranking" work? Or is that option somewhere else? Maybe that's broken compared to just sorting by rep
  16. I'm off to Florida for Copa (go Canada!!) but will have a sit-down next week/end and see what works, if anything. I think using another comp ID might help, but I have a feeling it's something with finances (although in one test I gave them insane budgets and tv money and the board still thought they were broke whenever you went into contract negotiations with a player)
  17. Oh yeah, I can see they added a roster for Carolina. Not much point with the USL-C salary bug right now mind you, could really use some help sorting that. As for Chattanooga, did they update the roster or are those just the lads they had in NISA? Ideally they'd play in NISA first season, then a whole bunch of future transfers would go through and they'd switch to MLSNP, just not sure if we can facilitate that cleanly
  18. You mean, 14 hour desk sitting at the RIGHT desk and gaming computer instead of the wrong desk with work files
  19. Those look like stages and not full-blown child comps, why not build it and test it? Sounds a lot like how MLS is set up. Might work most cleanly if each team has "division" set to the parent comp and a "secondary division" set to the east/west comp, wouldn't do anything functionally but allow them to be split in groups that way. Alternately (or if secondary divisions are already used for something else) I think you could sort the teams by longitude, max it at 12 (or however many play in each child comp) and do the same thing in the other stage but just click "reverse teams" (doesn't always work mind you)
  20. I believe it would break the Asian coefficients, that's why SI didn't do it, way too much work and they don't prioritize anything outside of Europe. You could maybe do it with having teams still qualify for the AFC CL/AFC Cup as normal and then distributing them to the new mid-range competition via hidden stages, but it wouldn't look right (i.e. news items saying you qualified for ACL when you haven't, etc)
  21. OP may already be aware of this and wants the more specific C/D/E-type seedings, but anyway the "best third place teams" thing comes from group settings/extra fate/places - set number of places to 4 (in the case of the Euros), "original league place" to "other", and "new league place" to "promotion" (shouldn't make sense but it does). "Maximum teams" in group should be set to 1, or else a fourth-place team might creep in if they have 3 or 4 points and outrank other third-place teams. In the second round, you can seed teams by position in previous stage and do a seeded draw. There are also settings to "avoid teams in previous group" but it doesn't seem to work consistently
  22. No. It's much simpler, you just need "group settings" to get best third placed teams, no need for hidden stages. Also you can seed teams by position in previous group, so no need for any hidden stages. You're right about cup tie mappings, but that's not what he asked, he's wondering how to do the Euro-style "first in group B vs. 3rd from C/D/E" type stuff. I think it's hard-coded in the Euros, you could probably replicate it with a crapload of hidden stages and "ignore teams"-type settings but it sounds like a of work (like one that just takes third from each of groups C/D/E and excludes teams who haven't qualified for the second round, as well as teams who have already been picked in a previous hidden stage). Could be a summer project
  23. Also the new file thing is weird, can only guess that it's trying to "duplicate" stuff that was created or duplicated in the original file, and it gets confused and tries to pull your changes first (but there's nothing to duplicate yet because it hasn't registered the original set of changes). Not sure if that makes sense and can't think of a real solution
  24. When you duplicate a media source, you'll have to go through their settings and manually change stuff like "range" (to local, regional, national etc). When you duplicate them, it LOOKS like it's set to whatever the last guy was, but this is a visual glitch, the game actually sees that setting as blank until you click the drop-down and pick a setting (you can then see in the bottom left that a "change" has been registered). The same thing happens with "short names" when you duplicate awards (game thinks it's blank until you register a change, even if it's just changing a letter, tabbing away so it registers a change, and then changing the letter back so it registers another). Really it's good practice to do this anytime you duplicate anything like a competition, award, media source, etc. Go through each setting and manually change it, even if it already says what you want - the editor is lying. This should probably be in a stickied thread or something tbh
  25. You'll need to edit the rules for Nations League and Euro quals, doesn't sound like they're built to accommodate an extra team (which is weird because you'd think they'd make it flexible enough to accommodate Russia coming back in from the cold). As for the error message, go through all 21 teams and manually change their "nation" to England (even if it already says England, just do it anyway so it registers a change), and their "division" to that division maybe too. I have a feeling merging the databases caused some weird issue with changes either failing or not showing. I tend to avoid merging databases at all costs, has only caused issues for me
