  1. Sounds like you have 16 set somewhere, but yeah it would be easier to follow if you kept most of this stuff in one thread. Anyway "ignore teams" does exactly what it says
  2. Take teams from the existing ACL with "get best teams in competition" and "nation" set to, say, Qatar. As long as the setup date is shortly after the ACL draws, that should piggyback off the ACL coefficients. As for implementing your own, not sure that's possible, or beyond me at least
  3. That's awesome. Like created players? You could at least start the first season with a bunch of guys pre-loaned to the II team, but obviously it's not as fun as the game-by-game decisions you're talking about. I haven't played an in-depth MLS season in a while but I remember setting reminders to the day before every game (and every II team game) to assess the roster and decide who to loan up and down. Probably the only time save-scumming is justified, like if you calculate the salary cap right but the game decides to round up a currency conversion instead of down and you end up over it's fun and challenging but you can understand why a lot of people shy away from coaching here
  4. Further, any chance that regional divisions were set, and then unset in the "other" file (the one that isn't supposed to affect them)? If so you'll need to remove the changes themselves and then save it again (at least if you can't adjust the alphabetical order that rusty mentioned)
  5. Do Vancouver have a higher unique ID, or perhaps lower rep than Windsor? The game is likely just filling the final spot however it can, in that case it might even be the team order from the bottom up Just go into "teams" for the second year and add an entry at the top to "ignore" Windsor. Relying on "registered teams" is not necessary in the vast majority of cases and takes away some of the error messages that help figure out what's wrong. I think the MLS expansion is hard-coded if you're trying to replicate it, unless anyone has figured out the wizardry behind "next division", but is only good for the second season anyway
  6. "Get best local regions" is great but just needs every team to have a stadium set, in that region. Can be a pain for 80+ amateur teams without anything set there
  7. Double cities is just annoying because you won't necessarily get news items about teams winning a local derby, journalist questions about players scoring a goal in front of their family because they're a hometown lad, etc. Doesn't the US do it somehow with Spanish? Is that set under the nation with just a lower number? Won't allow for the regionalization you're talking about mind you. FWIW I think 95% of teenagers in Montreal these days will speak both almost fluently (especially if they're playing footy and travelling around for it)
  8. I don't think so. I've played with the boxes under affiliation like "loan players to senior team" but couldn't seem to get it working. We could maybe find a workaround but it would be a lot harder to get the AI managers to know when to utilize it too
  9. Yeah, you'd need two sets of rules in the advanced rules, rotating each year. You can import the stats from the previous season for the relegation years (check the Canadian DBs on here to see how they handled it with L1O)
  10. Just make sure their "continental cup nation" in the editor is set to NZ and it should work. Test first. The OCL might have an exception set for them in the teams list there too, would require editing the advanced rules
  11. Does the game allow U17 tournaments? Seems like you'd have to load a bunch of active leagues to get enough newgens even if it did?
  12. Have you loaded up England's rules? Rules/add nation rules/add lower divisions and cups to existing structure. Then convert to advanced rules. In the drop-down midway down the left panel ("Show Rules For:") pick the Prem. Stages/league settings. Then about halfway down you can see the box checked for points deductions and the entry for Everton. Either uncheck that box or remove the entry for Everton
  13. Remove the equivalent to this entry. In advanced rules, under nation/transfers: Weird. Under "kit selection" does it show that they'll wear the third kit for those home games against Celtic? Try experimenting with that "other teams to check" box. Or I wonder if Celtic have licensed kits and that's programmed to always take priority In the advanced rules, under the competition itself, you'll have to set it for each stage. Substitution rules are in "league settings", and for cup rounds, "round defaults". Or if you wanna override that you can adjust it under each cup round "general"
  14. Managers can't have future transfers set. Very rare in real life, also imagine you went somewhere and won everything only to get replaced by someone who had it arranged ahead of time? Or got canned the day before the final for someone with that future transfer set? What about that box under their contract for "will retire after current deal" or whatever it is? Also give them huge wages, favoured club set to the non-league team, and maybe loyalty to 20?
  15. One "set" of leagues that pro/rel into each other (like, Brazil's Serie A to D) will all need to be the same, obviously. Then the state leagues in Brazil are the reason secondary divisions exist, and if you have, say, Carioca division 1 through 3, they'll all need to be the same (typically a secondary division). In BC I'd consider the rough equivalent is that L1BC is the main division (as second or third tier behind CanPL), and for clubs who field teams in other leagues like VMSL or FVSL that's effectively their secondary division (and they can get relegated there without affecting their standing in the primary division tiers in any way)
  16. Can you relate the nature of the specific changes that cause this issue? Is it a change to the nation itself?
  17. I assume there are 30 games? 15 home games? Go into league settings, at the bottom is "specific alternative stadiums used for fixtures in league stage". Give half the teams an entry for the same 15 stadia each, with "number of games" set to 1. Give the other half of teams an entry for the remaining 15 stadia each, with "number of games" set to 1. This will literally require 15 entries for each team (say goodbye to your Saturday night) but should work? Unless there's some weirdness with that home/away formula I'm not getting right
  18. Take a look at a set of rules that sets up knockouts like A1 vs B2, etc. Cup tie mappings are usually how this is done. Then just do the same but put A1 vs A2 (or A4 or whoever they're supposed to play)
  19. Nothing I like better than my files being rendered obsolete. Not even joking!
  20. There seem to be two ways to set this - either as working for the main club, with job set to "Manager (U18)", or as working for "[Main Club Under-18s]" as "Manager". A club's reserves and U18s seem to show up as separate searchable entries/unique IDs (not in the search function for clubs, but only when doing things like adding current employment). I was never clear on the functional difference, if any, but I'm guessing the update has messed with one of those methods and it happens to be the one you're using? Hopefully it can be rescued with the other one
  21. That's an odd one. Are you using an extinct club anywhere? Maybe there's a unique ID issue in the latest update where Netherlands Antilles is thrown up when it can't find the proper entry (Sandy Martens anyone?)
  22. Leagues Cup hosting is supposed to be fixed, anyone made it that far in a new game in 24.3 yet and can check?
