  1. What part of this is a computer game and the AI isn't going to make the same decisions as a human 100% of the time did you not understand when you bought the game? It's following a set instructions to rotate players when certain criteria is met. If you think there's a bug, instead of calling it "the worst game ever" and having a temper tatrum, log the bug in the bug forums with details of the problem and what you think it should be. For the past however long one of the major criticism of the game has been the AI doesn't use youth players or rotate the squad. AI rotates squad and less than 24 hours later someone complains the AI did what it was instructed and advertised to do.
  2. I wonder how much of this has to do with players at lower levels maybe having attributes that are too close to top level players rather than a ME problem, particularly attackers. It'd be an interesting experiment to turn down every 2nd division player's technical attributes by 1 and run it again.
  3. You're upset because the AI used youth players in a game they were expected to beat a team handily? That's literally the definition of rotating their squad. They gambled they could give their youth some experience and it didn't pay off results wise.
  4. Anyone who says they're good at regex is either lying or doesn't know they're lying . Just fear someone looking for a solution will do that over a few 100k lines and further break the game without understanding what happened.
  5. should just make sure there's no 200 inside that numeric sequence. Might be worth adding either regex to say only at the start of a string or search for "CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME" [however many spaces that is] 200 and then do "CHANGE_PLAYER_NAME" [however many spaces that is] r-200 just to be safe...
  6. Can't play for another couple hours (or I'd check it myself) but is Premier league U21 still bugged with no unregistered foreign players allowed in competitive matches? This was a save ported from 23 for comparison.
  7. Some SI statistician is probably in heaven with that amount of data generated. I'm sure it's amusingly frustrating when some small change takes it off the rails. Thanks for all your team's work. I'm looking forward to booting it up in a couple hours.
  8. Got it. Thanks for the explanation. Find it really fascinating it's trained on itself - that's got to take for ever to determine if its "right".
  9. Is this saying it takes time for the xG model in your game to adjust to the latest model? Or that matches played prior to the update do not reflect the current xG model (i.e. the game doesn't adjust those values post hoc)?
  10. My guess is so that more computers can run the game and you're not sitting for 15 minutes waiting for a day to process (i.e. deadline days or update days). Not many machines can handle loading every playable nation and league with added league mods and 200k-300k players for a perfectly balanced world that mimics real life and keep the game playable. I agree it would be incredibly helpful if SI gave more instructions on how to set up a world based on your objective or provide presets like they do for tactics. But the main idea I think is so that more people can play the game even if its just a single nation as to why there's no single default world.
  11. There's numerous posts about when you set up the database it affects where newgens get produced and the balance of the save. Simming 30-40 years with a bad set up with net you bad results. Is SI infalliable? Absolutely not. There's been plenty of mistakes regarding development and attribute distribution. However, there's also a large number of players who simply don't load the game correctly (either by choice or unknowingly) or do things SI never intended to be done or just simply purposely edit the game with something unrealistic and complain when the game gives them something unrealistic back. Manchester City has had 15 years of pouring unlimited money into the team they have one player that is making an large impact on their team in Phil Foden. Cole Palmer is maybe someone you could argue but they sold him because Halaand is better (also pretending like they're FFP compliant too). But thats it. People on here are expecting to get Messi every year because they upgraded. Guess what there's 19 other PL teams and 24 Championship team trying to find the best youth players too! Jude Bellingham came up through Birmingham when they were in the Championship. Facilities just increase your chances of getting a wonderkid but its not a guarantee.
  12. Yes I realize that but should the raw number be hidden like Professionalism and consistency? We can't see those but we know what player personalities are with minimal scouting. The idea isn't that its unrealistic for a scout to observe them and provide a manager a low, normal, high value. Its the micromanaging/fixation of the attribute and prevent using some sort of game meta transfer policy, i.e. no players with below 15 determination or work rate or teamwork. Honestly, determination is really the attribute I think should be hidden more than workrate and teamwork given how it can govern all the other attributes much like consistency. Unless, of course, my understanding of how determination works is wrong.
  13. WIthout knowing how much the AI relies on things like determination, work rate, and teamwork to select players to prioritize for transfers, I'm curious if anyone thinks these should be moved to hidden attributes to remove some of the "gamification" by human players of only selecting players with high values in each. Obviously these would be partially revealed in scouting if one was extraordinarily high or low. Just seems to me like its too easy to highly prioritize these "global" attributes when making your transfer policy. Yes I'm aware there are skins that hide these, but I'm talking more fundamentally changing how you can interact with them too (i.e. not available to filter your scouting reports by these attributes).
  14. The issue of having more than expected is talent inflation and that would break the game long term as there would be too many good players. Transfers would stagnate entirely if every team could consistently build from youth prospects. Of all things in the game this should mirror real life the most as it has the most impact on player development and transfers. Getting a 16 year old wonderkid via youth squad should be a rare event. People expecting to be handed Messi simply because they have good facilities is unrealistic.
  15. Just finished a season in the EPL and the three highest rated players in the leage were all natural wingers ~7.5. That's even with Haaland banging in some 50 odd goals.
  16. They just want the journalists to have something relevant to ask you in the press conferences. How do you feel about playing the same team twice in a week???
  17. Not sure if this is true or not but have you cleared out the scouting reports (either acknowledge, discard, keep scouting) at all? There's a limit of 99 reports in there and I don't think you'll move on from a report until you clear those out.
  18. It most definitely wasn't. Away teams couldn't score to the tune of multiple top end clubs conceding fewer than 10 goals at home all season. IMO it was one of the worst versions because away teams were nerfed so much regardless of form or ability. CB's were needing to be subbed regularly. This version needs a little tweaking but 23 was awful and shouldn't be the end state for 24.
  19. Not saying you specifically but I think they'd want the list to be small group of people who have a very intimate knowledge of what things are supposed to do so they can either recreate the situation or describe what they did in detail to cause it or isolate the problem. I don't think its just about finding bugs but also how you can articulate the problem. Again not pointing fingers at anyone here but to use an example of something we all kind of see. The complaint of "there's too many goals" isn't really helpful to a developer other than I found something that doesn't seem right. Why are there too many goals? bad GK behavior? Ok what about the GK is wrong? bad marking? what are some examples of bad marking due to bad programming not bad tactical instructions? Strikers are too lethal? Gegenpressing is OP? Then we have to remember that the game is built to simulate real life and while Declan Rice might have concentration of 17 he's going to lose focus once in a while and it might cost you a goal in a big match. But that's by design. If we can show that declan rice is losing focus just as much as someone with significantly worse concentration (say a League One player) then we get into helping a developer focus on where improvements are needed.
  20. Yeah no clue what factors matter to the AI. Not sure how you'd measure AI squad building at scale with the tools we have available either. Interesting idea though.
  21. I've done it once I think on FM22 and into the future but quickly abandoned the save b/c i couldn't get into that version. I didn't know they modified personalities. I thought it was just randomly generating some facts like name and maybe nationality. The personalities thing is one that slightly breaks immersion for me since all the real players have neutral at worst. Back to your original question. I think the hard part about any of these experiments is so much of the world depends on what you've loaded. Too small a db and leagues loaded results in crazy high fees, not enough players or newgens to fill out the world. Too large and players are cheap and top teams probably hoard talent. I kind of wish SI would give you more info at game start to create a balanced save (or not if that's your thing) rather than playing 5-10+ years and realizing that something you did 500 hours ago ruined your save.
  22. Yeah that's typically their M.O. to provide specifics for bugfixes in the patches. Everything else is probably thrown under "Other minor tweaks". Just saying GK might be doing perfectly fine and its something else that requires improvement. I haven't seen bad GK behavior other than your tests showing too many goals in various leagues. Visually though GK seem to be okay.
