  1. It's bc he went to Japan in between the updates, likely why they removed him. I'd just take the details from the 24.0 DB and copy and paste them into a created person on 23.4
  2. My solution will only exclude the teams you've told it to "ignore" if the setup date is AFTER those tournaments have been set. So if the Champions League has set a 32-team group stage by that date, you can tell it to "ignore" the "max teams - 32" "get best teams in competition" from the CL and it will exclude them. Just a had a look, no setup date means it's probably trying to setup at the season start date. If the first fixture is Jul 22 I'd make the set-up date a couple of weeks before that, Europe should have all its teams ready by then. Also you don't need the "nation" set to "England" for the ignore teams box, not sure if that's doing anything but it's unnecessary anyway. You're already telling it to ignore the best (i.e. every) teams in UCL, whether it groups non-English teams like Barca into that isn't gonna hurt anything, and it won't exclude teams from your Celtic Prem because that entry is higher in the list than the "ignore teams" one (game goes downward entry by entry) I might also try "get best teams in competition" or "get best teams in division" (for last season's standings) for the remaining English teams like I said above, not "get all teams from division". We already know we don't want some of the teams, so "all" is just confusing Max teams for that is set to 13, but if you want the possibility that it could be 14 or 15 if England's co-efficient somehow dropped, just set a higher number (this is "max", so if the game only finds, like, 13 teams, that's fine, it won't cause an error just for that). Then I'd set the "random teams to team pool" to have "max teams" at whatever the max you want, i.e. you might need more if England's co-efficient got them even more teams in Europe (not sure if that's possible mind you). If you put max 5, but you only need 4, then the game should just take the first 4 (but since you're using "get qualified teams from end of list" and the team pool is the bottom entry, you might need to check "reverse the order of teams in this list" under "qualified teams" for all of this to work). Also might consider adding a Cornish club in there somewhere (maybe after the entry for Prem teams so they're also excluded if they're in Europe)
  3. I wouldn't recommend changing the teams in MLS, you'll lose a lot of functionality. Draft picks, international slots, etc, seem to be assigned to specific teams and hard-coded somewhere. But if you're absolutely going to, there are lots of places you'll need to change it. From a quick look I can see you deleted something from MLS' "registered teams" but didn't replace it, the game's not gonna like stuff like that... This is a bigger issue, but if you want to change an MLS team the best bet is to take that same team ID and just change all their details, so like changing Columbus Crew to the Albuquerque Isotopes or whatever. Then they'll keep all the fixtures, news items, weird roster rules etc that the Crew had hard-coded
  4. You running any other graphics packs? If someone's updated Czechoslovakia's flags and logo for whatever reason, that might be taking priority. Do you have the "Catalunya graphics" folder in the same place you have the manually replaced Hogges logo? What's the folder look like On a side note, I saw the Zealand video a while back but couldn't find it now, he mentions playing with Olot and the IRL Catalan transfer policy, but obviously nothing about this DB and the hard-coded transfer restriction we were able to implement Existing Algherese players have already been given Spanish and Catalan second nationality. I mentioned Dario del Fabro in the story thread, he looks quality. Same with some Andorrans (not many uncapped ones, though, because we don't want them thinking they can/should play for Spain) It won't work for newgens from Alghero, though, because the hard-coded transfer policy requires our Catalan players to be both Spanish (the club's "nation") and Catalan (the club's "based nation"). So all future newgens from the Balearics, Catalunya, and neighbouring Spanish regions will get it, but no way to make it work for Alghero, Andorra etc without really messing things up
  5. In FM22? That's great to hear it worked as intended, making international management a lot better. If you look at some of the national teams in the Caribbean, Asia, and Africa now, some of the guys we added a second nationality to are already playing for that new country in real life. Glad to hear that someone else was able to enjoy it! Honestly I don't think I've finished a full season yet. In past versions I used to be in a constant state of editing, starting a new game, playing for a while, and then losing interest in the save/noticing something that needed fixing, and repeating the cycle. Now it's just straight editing
  6. what happens if you split 6 and 7 into separate entries (no "top" and "bottom") with 16 each (maybe take off "was competitive in this competition" for the bottom finisher)
  7. Extract the folder and place it (or the files themselves) here: Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2023\graphics Or whatever the equivalent folder is on Mac
  8. All good mate, life takes priority. Save what you can for FM24 and worry about it later. Been through similar so I know how certain things lose importance
  9. It's literally reversed? Then try in that stage under Stage/General to check the box for "reverse teams" under the stage settings. Or if that fails, go under "teams" and make sure the teams you want coming in earlier are in the first entry ("get qualified teams" with the earlier stage blah blah blah). Check that same box as above for "reverse teams?". Further down check "team list changes" and make an entry with the range for the entire number of teams (1 is 0, so if it's 24 teams, "start index" is 0 and "end index" is 23). Check the new box here for "reverse teams"
  10. Have you messed with the rankings at all? Particularly for future seasons? What have you changed?
  11. "get best teams in competition" or "from division" (last season's standings) for Champo, set to max 16 teams. For the 2nd competition, also include that entry but check the boxes for "ignore teams". This is telling it to ignore those top 16 teams in all following instructions. So after that just use the same instruction (without checking "ignore teams" this time) and set max teams to 8
  12. Likely a silly question but does stage 1 have "requirements" set to stage 0? I.e. don't draw until stage 0 is finished? Otherwise it seems like the first group stage isn't finishing somehow. Can download and check it out when I'm at home later
  13. This is on the default db? There will be a team or two with MLS set as "next division" as they come in after a year or two, but it should still verify for the first season with 27 (I think) teams
  14. If you end up having to specify the hidden stage fixture plan in an exact way to get it to play how you want, you could have 2 rotating editions of MLS with 2 year rotations, each with a slightly different fixture plan. So, say, Atlanta would get an inter-conference game against LAFC one year, Portland the next. If you can't get it to be semi-random you can at least make it seem like it
  15. I mean arguably SI's way is better, lol, each team should get a home game against Messi (if he'd play on turf at least) every 2 years. As it is, you can take years to get a home game against Miami. I appreciate that realism is the goal here, mind you
  16. What save are you running now? I also have the "MLS Rebranded as NASL" file that just changes all the MLS teams to their NASL predecessors (with graphics), but doesn't change gameplay at all
  17. That's brilliant, what are the dates for the Saudi one? You should do one that overlaps with the Brittany Inter-Celtic festival in Lorient, Aug. 4 to 13 this year. A bunch of the events even take place at Lorient's stadium. Imagine if they had a preseason cup at the same time where FC Lorient hosted Celtic, the Welsh champs, Irish champs etc (maybe a back-up team if any of them are involved in Europe that early)
  18. Updated with some new signings, awards, cleaned up the dates, etc. I hated simming ahead and seeing situations mid-season where one team has played, like, 19 games, and another 15. The game does catch them up, but it's annoying. I've painstakingly sorted the calendars in all three Gulf leagues over a 4-season cycle now to hopefully avoid any clashes with domestic cups or continental games. I've done my best to schedule around the various international comps as well, but hosting/going deep in the Club World Cup may cause you to fall behind a fixture and catch up later (this is realistic). Also fixed a glitch from one of the recent edits where the 2028/29 season in Qatar wasn't finishing properly if multiple teams went deep in Asia and the cups. New season there means new roster rules and new prize money - nothing like the Saudi investment, obviously, but from simming ahead the Qatari and Emirati clubs have no problems making 10M+ pound signings of their own in the future
  19. Cheers. Unifying Korea is the easy part, just need to figure out what to do with the empty shell of North Korea that's left EDIT: I tried this again with merging Taiwan and China into One China (and merging everyone under the Taiwanese UID into China, not to necessarily reflect either country absorbing the other but just because there are a lot less entries to deal with). It looks like Taiwan similarly have their namelist hard-coded, though. I'm guessing it would be the same for Mongolia, Macau, etc, or any other possible candidate (North Korea was great as they already had 1 Champions League spot that we didn't have to mess with the co-efficient for). So, this may be dead in the meantime. Feel free to experiment with different nations and let me know if any possible candidates to be overwritten by Russia are viable.
  20. First year is the rumoured 8 teams. Second year on is the African CL winner plus 23 semi-random high rep teams from throughout the continent. If you're playing with an active African league, though, fixture pile-up is likely going to be a big issue, I can't say it will run smoothly in that case. I've just been using it so top African teams have more games in the background
  21. Nice, and yes that's correct. You can drop one of the Arab and Africa/Arab and Gulf files, they're the same. OR you can use the Lusail Super Cup file instead (same base files for the two confirmed comps, but without the fantasy expansions). For a fulsome international/Middle East experience, from that list I'd add TMC Baltic Cup and TMC Copa America and Gold Cup fix from the internationals thread. I'd also use one of Club World Cup redux files (7 or 8 team versions) but that's up to personal preference. You might also enjoy playing in San Marino, and I'd also use TMC Minor Corrections and TMC Competition Names from this thread for a more immersive experience. And if you want the Catalan second nationality, play with one of the Spain files from this thread. There's also the Island Games but that's incompatible with the Qatar, San Marino, and Catalan files. And since you're such a great supporter, here, have an early draft of a second nationality file for 2023 as well
  22. Yeah sorry, I ended up bringing back the GCC so they're the same. The second one should be scrapped, I thought I removed all references to it but it might still be on Mediafire. Both should also have the African Football League, which is spaced out over the season now, and expands to 24 teams next year. Meanwhile the "Lusail Super Cup" file is the "confirmed comps only" one, just has the first year of the Arab Club Cup, and the first year of the Lusail Super Cup (i.e. tournaments that have actually kicked off)
  23. Also realizing the CWC is hard-coded for that "fixture date" flag "use if club is in Club World Championship", which actually works and is quite convenient. Would be nice if there was something like that for "use if team is involved in continental Champions League"
  24. Sounds like you fixed the dates/2047 issue as well, good to hear. I wonder if Canada were being called as a random national team, still odd. And I wonder if England 'B' or U23s have weird hard-coding so they can function as Great Britain in the rare case where England hosts the Olympics again, at least that's how older games handled it. Although it could just be an error with the teams list or something. You could probably get it so that teams send their 'A' team unless they're still alive in Nations League, in which case they'd send the B or U23 team
  25. Re: 2047, I wonder if you've got 2000 as a base year for dates, but then 2023 or 2024 used in dates throughout the competition. So it's just scheduling games 23/24 years in the future (i.e. 2047) That Canada thing is hilarious, have you got a backup list of invited teams somewhere? Or maybe the dates got thrown off and it had to find a replacement team somehow, usually you see a high-rep team like Germany or Spain in that case though
