  1. Added the 4-team Qatar Cup which was played this year after all. It's a sort of top four playoff played during the following season (basically another cup for the big-spending teams). I've cut the U-19 league for now, for full realism, but I have a backup I can return to depending on feedback from you guys. I don't think it was played this year (maybe a break for the World Cup) but I know people enjoy having it - any thoughts? The reserves have stayed intact. Thanks again to @X0X0 for the information.
  2. Updated version with U19s posted in OP. @X0X0 @ajoobah Cheers for the feedback. Will add an alternate version with the top Saudi players' reputations (not CA/PA) increased to try and account for the big clubs not keeping enough domestics on their roster, and will clean up the Qatar and UAE files with some updated information.
  3. You can do playoffs for any position, second, third, fourth etc fairly easily, that will take priority for European qualification, I did it with San Marino using some of the flags like "use playoff rankings". But as Rusty said I can't imagine a way to make it dynamically account for coefficient changes, cup winners, etc
  4. Muratti Vase (basic Muratti file) | Island Games (expanded Muratti+Island Games+Milne Cup etc file) Sorry, forgot to post the backup links last time out
  5. Not at all, I didn't mean to sound officious like that, just trying to get to the bottom of it. I meant to say that many of those websites still list competitions that haven't been played in a few years, so I'm always trying to stay as up-to-date as possible. And agreed, base-quality is the goal, in Qatar we have (mostly) managed to replicate the UAFA thing but UAE has the weird resident rule we can't fully copy. I was playing around with the Saudi U19s and couldn't get it to show up but I think I'm just missing something obvious, it will come to me. Lol, very true with those fun saves, I used to always play MLS saves and put all of my faith in someone like Jermain Defoe or Sebastian Giovinco
  6. Which tournaments am I missing? A lot listed there are inactive and in some cases (Qatar FA Cup) have been explained in the thread, but I'm happy to add anything like that. Active results from this season/news stories are all I need. Sounds good with the 5 foreigners, is there plans to move ahead with 6 next season or anything? Can't remember where I saw that
  7. Post your file and someone can check. Should be doable with semi and final as either separate stages or separate rounds in the same stage
  8. @X0X0 Did only 7 teams field reserve teams? https://www.saff.com.sa/en/championship.php?id=135&type=all#fixtures The existing version of my file has all the top division teams playing in the reserve league, I'll likely keep it that way (and add the U19s) as you have to imagine every top division team is invited.
  9. I can see the dates are off, you've got "2021" as base year but June 2023 dates everywhere else, so even if it was scheduling properly it would try to put games 2 years late every time. Just changing "base year for dates" to 2023 should help. I'm not sure "nations able to play in competition" is necessary, might just confuse things, that might be for stuff like the US Open Cup where you don't want it drawing Canadian teams who play in the US structure. For the groups, best runner-up is meant to go through right? So ranking levels should be adjusted (group runners-up should have highest 0 and lowest 3), and under "group settings" you can check "extra fate places" and have one team go from "other" to "promotion" (shouldn't make sense but it does). Maybe most importantly, I don't see international rules in your file at all, you might have to start a new file with international rules - add advanced rules and then copy and paste your rules into a new one (not pasting over the entire list, just the rules in a specific competition). Here it is with these changes in a new file, although I haven't copied or redone any of your extra changes like to people, just the competition. Also adding some stuff under "fixture times and rules" and "players", and removing more redundant stuff like "real life teams", "qualified teams" and "registered teams." Sorry, I haven't done the resource archiver thing since the last patch so can't activate Monaco to verify and test it right now, let me know if it doesn't work. This is unsolicited advice now but I'd give each group its own schedule as well, with stuff like "stadium_0" and "stadium_1" selected, under "individual group rules" instead of "league schedule (all groups)". Just telling them all to play at the same time with "neutral" stadiums might cause clashes (yes the game is that stupid). Same with the semis, use two different "offset dates" under "dates" (anything you specify there with gametimes, stadia etc should override everything). I might also consider cramming the fixtures into a smaller window, like 2 days between games, if they actually had football at the Games of Small States it would be squeezed in as much as possible (Games are May 28-June 3 this year so could put the final on Sunday June 4 and go backwards from there). I'd also add a third place game, these "Games" tournaments love to have gold, silver and bronze in everything
  10. Lovely, thanks, I've been looking for something like that, I'll update all three files over the next week or so
  11. That's awesome. I'm generally in favour of realism but when you get so far down the pyramid there's probably not a lot in between these teams and like england level 10 teams, at least in-game. Europe-ready from the first season might be a bit too fast of an upgrade mind you
  12. There's a less clean way where you could just take the secondary competition, under "teams" tell it to "ignore" the 16 "best teams in competition" for the Champions league, and then to get 8 "best teams in competition". This would be for if the CL went to last 16, and you wanted the 8 third place teams to fall down. Ranking levels need to be working for your CL for this to work. This isn't as ideal because the game won't necessarily "know" that you're dropping down to the EL, it will just think you're eliminated from the CL. Not sure if that affects Board expectations or anything, but with the qualifying type rules discussed above instead, you can at least tell the game/your Board that you still have continental football left even though you finished third.
  13. That does seem to have made them start signing (existing) Saudi players after a season or two. Try this. (edit: link removed, check OP) If you don't see any other issues I'll make it the main download. Maybe we can achieve the same effect without lowering the club's reps... although Al-Hilal signed Koulibaly from Chelsea in the second season so the decrease doesn't seem to have hurt them too much
  14. @ajoobah I have noticed it's slightly better after 8-10 years when the player pool is mostly newgens, Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr raid the smaller teams for 2-3 transfers every year which seems sustainable. Running a test now with the big 4 clubs' rep slightly reduced and the top Saudi players all with rep slightly increased (but not CA)
  15. Anything like Photoshop, gimp etc will keep that clear vector background. Just take an existing one, save your file over it (delete the existing layer) as a .png
  16. Yeah I've just been copying the same format as existing ones. I can work on those once we know the unique IDs of the teams
  17. Couldn't you just swap the numbers for, say, England and France's last 5 years of coefficients?
  18. If you're into realism, the Priaux League (with Alderney FC in there) and Jersey Combination League look fun, I think their champions play each year as well (that playoff could be set up in club intercontinental rules). I thought about adding nation rules for Jersey and Guernsey like this but just haven't had the time, knowing it needs logos, created players, and lots of other work too
  19. That's brilliant. Yeah, you must not have added any tiebreakers, or the one "do not sort" or something. Any reason why Malta? Does your Channel Islands nation inherit all their coefficients, international qualifying etc? Muratti (and Island Games, which also includes Muratti) is set up in international rules so could still work. If you went into the rules for the file and changed the "teams" from my created Jersey, Guernsey etc to whichever existing teams are the base for yours, it should be compatible. Mind you if you've created your new Jersey, Guernsey etc from scratch that will be harder
  20. Where it says "Football Manager 2023" at the top of the screenshot. Click on it, it looks like it should have a drop-down menu. You want 23.4 if it's there
  21. I don't think I'm gonna touch CONCACAF this year, too much weirdness going on which can't be fixed easily when I tried. Plus summer's coming and I'll be on the road somewhere hopefully
  22. I really appreciate the testing. I'll brainstorm ways to make it work. There might be certain hard-coding to have other leagues favour domestic players, or I might be missing something completely obvious. Saudi has itself under "transfer preferences" but maybe I can tweak it. It's not even like we should reduce any other preferences, they're not signing too many foreigners, just no locals. Perhaps a mix of slightly lowering club and competition rep (maybe upping city attraction to make up for it) and slightly upping local players' CA is the solution after all
  23. Geographical draw. Or don't use any draw settings and just list the "teams" in order (all north teams first, then all south teams). Or if using separate divisions, set each team to have a preferred division. BTW, he meant move to the advanced rules forum
  24. Does the flag "don't randomize team order when scheduling" (or whatever it is) do anything? I think in league settings, possibly the stage flags under the stage itself
  25. Guessing they just mass edited those objectives onto a bunch of teams in different stages and some got bunched in twice (as when you're mass editing you won't see any previous entries to tell you you've already done it). I'd say either the higher entry or the most recent change would take priority but not sure
