2027/28 (season 6)

Season Summary

I think it's just dawning on me how difficult getting out of Serie C is gonig to be. There's three divisions in Serie C and only the Champions in each division is guaranteed promotion. The play offs have about 30 teams competing in it for one spot! It's nuts! and the teams coming down from Serie B are always really strong. It's gonna take us a while....

So this season was good and yet really frustrating. We just could not score, i've never seen so many 0-0 draws! If I can solve that striker problem I think we got a real chance soon, even though we're looking at only 3 promotion spots out of 60 teams....

Play offs were ok again going out inthe 3rd round again. Which is a long way from where we need to be to get promoted....

 

Players

So defence and midfield are starting to look really strong. Up front, less so. Our new centre back Davide Fierenzo 27A won Serie C player of the year at only 16 years old. We're unlikely to be able to hold on to him for too long

 

Youth

An ok preview and intake, but nothing special sadly.

 

I only signed up 4. They ask for £450 a week each which isn't cheap at our level!

 

Finances and Upgrades

well, it looks even worse since our takeover. We're losing money hand over fist. And to make it worse our youth facilities are no longer as good as they once were. We only spent a million doing them up a few year ago! gah....

 

Career

Keep on plugging away. I have a feeling getting out of Serie C will be way harder than Serie B or even Serie A come to that. Our team is steadily improving so we do got a chance.

Sant Andreu – Season 11 (2032/33)

La Liga A very exciting season. We started off with 8 straight wins, including a 5-0 against Atletico. But then the European games and injuries caught up with us, and we lost 5 out of the next 6. After the winter break, our form picked up and going into the last 5 games of the season we were sitting in 1st place on goal difference, 2 goals ahead of Barcelona. We had the easier run in but we totally messed it up, hitting the proverbial bottom in a 3-5 home defeat to 16th place Sporting Gijon where they scored 5 from 5 shots on target, we won the xG 3-1, and our keeper got a 5.8 rating. We then also lost away to 18th place Getafe to give Barca the title with 1 game to go. Still, a great season, so more of the same next year please!

 

Europe We had a tough CL group with Bayern and Liverpool, and got a grand total of 1 point in our fixtures against these two. But we managed to finish 3rd ahead of Zenit and got all the way to the Europa league semis where we narrowly lost to Atletico while resting players for our title run-in (it didn’t help).

 

Players: Manuel Ristori 02c had a great season after years of average performances, scoring 20 and assisting 13. The two breakthrough players were Ernesto Ebona 06i, who did well on loan the last few years and got a 7.35 rating playing across our back four, and Leandro Gil 08a who has developed nicely and was no. 1 on the wonderkid list.

Youth intake (preview): Probably the most disappointing of our La Liga intakes - our team is getting better, but only two 5* prospects is a lot less than what we’re used to. Still, I could really do with a new keeper so I hope Miroslav Nicolic 11b delivers. Strange that I got about 4 affiliate clubs to get foreign youngsters, but only seem to be getting them from my Serbian affiliate.

  

Facilities: The 22.4 update meant …. drumroll …… a youth facility upgrade! So we’re back to excellent and everything else is maxed.

Transfers: Larger release clauses and no truly standout players meant nobody notable left, but I’m trying to clear out the squad a bit to make room for youngsters to develop.

*The Black Shirts is the nickname of Polonia Warsaw.

Note: I had to wait two seasons for Polonia to promote to 1. Liga....and many many reloads to finally see it happen...many more than in FM21.

So after starting with Ruch Chorzow shortly after Beta I got bored fast. Than few weeks ago started a YC with AFC in Netherlands (as I can see their stadium from my workplace). But there are many of those here...so I went back to Polonia.
Oli is back!

This time I started as Nigerian with Polish as second nationality so hopefully I can get some Nigerian youth prospects! Hopefully I will get again a son in this years FM :).

Further I signed some multicultural staff to hopefully increase the chance of foreign youth intake. (and for RP stuff).

Longius UWAKWE, anothe rNigerian who has lived many years in Poland joins Polonia as a scout.

 

DELEU, a Brazillian who has played in mid and lowe -level clubs in Poland will join us as youth coach and hopefully will help genarate a Brazillian youth player or 2.

Martins EKWUEME joins as as AM for the youth team. Martins actually played a few seasons in teh first team of Polonia so this could actually happen in RL. Another Nigerian/Polish staffer.

For the HOYD I found...

Slawomir WOJCIECHOWSKI, 4 time capped for Poland and one of few Polish players to actually have a Champions League medal (he won it with Bayern in the 90s). Decent stats and F Proffesional. Best I could find in my first year and as he had HOYD position sin teh past seams kinda realistic.

Team and Strategy

First of all, loving the new shirts in FM22. The Black and Gold just are brilliant. The first 11 for my first season in 1. Liga (2nd level Poland). We have a very strong defense. Welna & Pazio with expeirence. Decent midfield with JAKOBCZYK having potential to be a decent Ekstraklasa player. Same applies to BEDNARCZYK in the attack who has the biggest potential according to my AM. RADZINSKI seems like an averege player but his high finishing seems like an asset. Hopefully I can see him grow. He only has Polish nationality but was born in Poland. Further we have a backup defender who is mixed Polish/Japanese, a rotation midfielder from Belarus with Polish second nationality and a reserves guy with Polish/Turkish background. (I had to go the Turkish guy as he was really not good enough).

Our Goaly was already Ekstraklasa level and sadly got bought for only 55k in the winter. Our current goaly is ok-ish...but we really need a regen to come into the spot fast.

As you can see the season went quite well, better than I expected. Promotion. Polish 2nd level league is not that great. Let's hope we can stay in top flight next year.

In teh cup we lost at home to a top flier team.

 

Youth intake:

Prediction was excellent...and we got some potential 1st team players;

 

I still need to add the faces . A striker, midfielder and two wing backs. Not bad, but we really need a goaly. Only Polish players from teh intake, lets see if that will chnage next year.

Heibei Kungfu - Season 9

 

We played AFC Champions League for the first time. The competition is split in 2 areas, east and west. To reach the final, you need to be the last club remaining in your area, then you play against the last remaining club in the other area. As a Chinese club, you need to face South Korean/Japanese clubs and others splitted into 5 groups with only 8 slots for knockout stages. 

Overall, the season was good. Good performances on the pitch, some big sales, and we improved the facilities. We are losing 4,5m€ every season, so I won't push further the training facilities. I need to keep a healthy balance to not give the opportunity to my chairman to accept random transfer offers.

In the domestic cup, we had some good draws giving us the opportunity to compete for our first trophy. In the final, I was confident once we drew away. Despite domination, we lacked realism and got punished.

AFC CL group draw was though with 3 good teams with higher reputation than mine (the club is only 2 stars reputation). Despite finishing second, it wasn't enough to reach the knockout phase.

Some big sales and 3 players left for military service. It wasn't as impactful as last season. YI is ok with a GK as a hot prospect.

Heibei Kungfu - Season 10

 

We were close to win our first title during the previous season. This time we did it, our first title is the Chinese Super League with the best attack/defense. (70/24). We are a 2,5 stars reputation club now

AFC CL : An easy group, with a Singaporean and Myanmar team. The third team was from South Korea. We beat them twice despite being a clear underdog. We discovered the knockout phase, and i was surprised by the lack of home/away games. Every stage is in 1 game, which makes things more complicated and draw dependent. In the quarter final, there were 3 South Korean teams and me. Unfortunately, I had to play the game away. We got crushed and we could have lost 4-0.

Yongchao 26b became my best player !

Cup : A loss against a mid table team. We often have trouble against them. 

Some big sales, but as usual, only youths are not good enough for my side or wingers.

Yi is ok with a winger as a hot prospect. Which isn't useful in my axial formation.

After my frustration with the board in Finland's save and with the new patch, its time for something new. 
Welcome to Ruggell, home of FC Ruggell in Lichtenstein. We will be playing in the 5th division of Swiss football, but playing in the Liechtenstein Cup. So that means that to dream of winning the Champions League, first we have to win the Conference League, then the Europa League, and then try the big one, sounds good, no?
The club spent most of their time in lower leagues and in the Liechtenstein Cup, they went to the final 7 times and lost all 7, most recently in 2019 where they lost 3-2 against FC Vaduz.

SERIE A

Best ever league position so far, mostly thanks to an excellent start of the season. After 12 games we were fighting in position to fight for the title, but after that, an 8 games without a win run made us lose all options. After that, I was able to come back and gain 6th position, which grants Copa Libertadores football for next season.

 

COPA LIBERTADORES

Made it through qualifying stages, made a perfect group stage despite being there with Boca Juniors, to end up being knocked out by title-winners Internacional. A good run for club's first participation.

Not much to be seen, third title in a row.

Im not a pro at this but for me it depends on the personalities of the players and staff .Check each player's individual training to suit your tactics, but also to improve key attributes. Try loans where they can play as a star, key player, regular starter and also keep an eye on the facilities they have.

Ultimately, the player may not have PA  and will not develop no matter how hard you try.

sorry if this has been asked to death already,

I've been trying to figure this out as well... Basically, I think the first thing is to lower expectations a bit since developing players is much harder in this FM than say FM21. Second, I noticed that my staff seem to be pretty poor at judging how good the players are at the intake, so many of a/b rated players don't develop, but then you usually get some surprises of 3* PA youngsters rising to first team level. So it's a lot of micromanaging and working out which players are developing or not.

Third, game time seems to be really key. So loans (even before they turn 18 for me), and first team as soon as possible. I try to figure out which players are developing on loan and in youth teams (check the progress bars), and start giving them some appearances. Fourth, personality seems to be key as usual, but maybe even more now because I'm finding it harder to change personality through squad personality, mentoring etc than in previous FMs. Don't have many ideas on how to do better on this last one, really, other than trying to sign players with low PA/CA but good personalities and good personality coaches - but this doesn't seem to have that much of an effect in my save.

XaW - Xgħajra Tornadoes FC - Season 2022/23 - Bank of Valletta National Amateur League

Well, I'm back at Malta! The country with team names resembling orc names in Lord of the Rings! Lovely to be back. And the season went excellent! The team is pretty good, with a few exception as expected. And we pretty much stormed the league, so I have no idea how this team finished last in the holiday season. I'm banking on me being a better manager!  After becoming champions of Group A we faced @Makoto Nakamura's Santa Venera Lightnings in a championship final. We won it to be crowed champions of the Amateur League!

National Amateur Cup: We beat Santa Venera Lightnings, Kalkara United, Msida SJ, and Swieqi United to reach the final. There we beat Kirkop United to really stamp ourselves as the amateur champion!

U20 Team:

They only played friendlies.

U19 Team:

They won the MFA Youth League Section D and got promoted to Section C for next season!

MFA Youth Knock-Out: They beat Birżebbuġa SP, Vittoriosa Stars, Naxxar Lions, and Żebbuġ Rangers before they lost to Balzan Youths in the quarter final.

Youth intake:

A great intake with some good talents.

We needed a good DM, so this kid is most welcome!

Back at it after a season on my journeyman save. I'll probably alternate unless one really hooks me.

2028 Midseason Table:

a six match losing streak early on had me a bit concerned, but as the table formed shape it was against the top 4 teams and two others that just weren't good. Haven't lost since then. Tinkered with tactics and have something totally different, but it seems to be working, and I got rid of the legacy keeper that gives up the softest goals. I'll ride it out with two young keepers battling it out to see if either can take the starter spot. 

 

2028 Youth Intake:

Definitely could use a good keeper and striker, so hopefully they come in strong.

Finances:

team just makes no money. I'm not spending anywhere close to payroll either. It's frustrating as I can't keep coaches or get upgrades. Really need to get promoted to get some money.

SC Toulon Season 9 Youth Intake

Look at this for another great Youth Intake. Some variety in nationalities as well with South Korea, Canada and DR Congo being represented. 

Annoyingly cos of the terrible finances at SC Toulon I wont be able to sign half of these as they all want £100 per week and I can only afford £55 per week.

Here are 2 of the players I managed to tie down to a contract and they both look very good.

Laurenzo Raynaud(YP64) - 16 Year Old French GK

I managed to get Raynaud signed up to a youth contract as I just about had enough in the budget to offer him what he wanted.

A very good GK already with some great attributes across the board with 15 in Handling, 13 in Kicking, 15 in Reflexes, 13 in Agility and a Fairly Sporting personality he should become a first team regular very soon.

John Ilunga(YP67) - 16 Year Old DR Congo Central Midfielder

Ilunga is another player I managed to tie down to a contract and he is another standout player who has a Fairly Determined personality. He has Excellent Determination, Bravery and good Work Rate, Passing and First Touch. He could become a very good central midfielder.

The DOF managed to sign quite a few of the best prospects luckily.

This got me excited for my Slovenia save. So far 5 months in and I haven't gotten the option to upgrade Youth facilities above Excellent....Maybe by the end of the season something will appear? If not I'll be making a fresh ticket. Damn this is frustrating.

SC Toulon Season 9 Review

Well I managed to get promoted but it took the last day of the season to secure it.

As you can see below it was very tight for the promotion places.

Best Players

Zoumana Simpara

Simpara was one of my best players but sadly he left towards the end of the season to ease the wage bill. He will be  very missed and really was a great professional to the young players.

Hopefully I can bring him back to the club as staff.

Folly Tchadjobo(YP27) - Togo Striker

Newly capped Togo International striker Tchadjobo had an amazing season this season and really becoming the top man at the club especially now that Simpara has left.

16 goals and 10 assists just shows how good he is and he also had a 7.35 average rating as well.

Samir Aubry(YP50) - 17 Year Old French Centre Back

My rock in defense this season was Aubry who had the best average rating with a 7.50 rating and has a great Tackles Won Ratio or 85%.

Unfortunately I couldn't get him to sign a new contract and he will be leaving to join Niort in the summer. He will be sorely missed as we do lack good central defenders at the club.

I miss Baba Toure lol.

Hermann Fofana(YP1) - 23 Year Old Ivorian Central Midfielder

Fofana was the king of assists this season with 12 assists and got himself 5 goals as well. He can definitely pass well with a Completed Pass Ratio of 87%.

He is currently unhappy as he wants to go to a bigger club. I am happy to let him go if I get a decent offer for him but so far the offers for him have been very underwhelming.

Things in Liechtenstein went very well in my first season in charge. Media preview was good and despite the lack of depth of the squad, we still managed to grab the title and earn our promotion. It was sad to see our fellow Balzers in this division.
It was a challenge to hold our players for the entire season, because the board only allows me to offer Non-Contracts. The good thing is our healthy budget for now.

 

AKTIV-Cup

We were lucky to avoid Vaduz until the final but we didn't have a chance. Hope one day we can win it.

Yeah I think I might have jumped the gun a bit with my excitement... Basically we upgraded back up to excellent but 6 months after that was completed there is still no option to ask the board for a new upgrade, which is unusual. I'll wait a few more months in the game and go back to that bug report I guess.

Second season went well. We started off in the mid regions, we lost a few , won a few...our form was okish. But second season especially after we had 'Ze Wunderkind' come...we won alot more ending up 4th in the league and qualifying for Conference League!

 

Our first 11 most of the season was much the same as last year. Only difference here was that Skprzypek became our 1st goaly from February on...and Lewicki lost his first team spot to Ze Wunderkind. RADZINSKI has shown the best improvement, he went from 2,5 stars to 4 stars this season. Further JAKOBCZYK improved into solid Ekstraklasa player.

Transfers

WYSZKOWSKI really was  unhappy as a sub and left on free sadly, too bad he was a decent player. Otherwise im not that unhappy about it all. As you can see we have an affiliante in BRON Radom. Either I missed it earlier or it happened this season.

Sadly EKWUEME left us to join Odra on his own, making it to two Nigerian manager in highest polish league! Achievement on its own.

He will be replaced by an old Nigerian player who played for Widzew Lodz, OKACHI.

 

Youth

Now that is some major youth intake for us, sadly nealy all of the strikers! We need a goaly!

But look at Milosz 'Ze WUNDERKIND' JALOCHA. 4 stars right off from the bat! He starts as a 16 years old as a decent Ekstraklasa player already...he went straight into the first 11 to replace LEWICKI.

He needs to work on his finishing and composure...but has decent pace, Fairly proffesional like our HoYD. Determination a bit lacking...but he had a great rookie season with 7 games and 4 goals and 1 assist.

Lets hope I can hold on to him for a season or 5...and sell him for 5mil or more!? if he will continue to improve ofcourse.

 

Thats it for second season, we really are desparate for more youth players incoming on GK and midfield for next year. A DC would also be nice.

A bit disappointing in terms of position, but our first season in this league we never had any trouble.

Cadariu emerged as one of our better players out of nowhere. Parsons did well again.

Our 9th place takes the shine off our season a bit. We were 6th for a long time, and after 28 games in 3rd! Couldn't hold on sadly.

 

Transfers

Waite was last seasons newly pulled goalie, but he left way too early.

 

Squad

Manning cemented a starting spot after a great preseason. East came into the side halfway the season and provided a lot for us.

Smith-Chamberlain is not really a lower league type striker, but his first season has been promising.

 

Youth Intake

None are expected to be in the side any time soon.
