grff
Ifeanyi Ubah FC: 2026/27 Season Review A decent season as we survived our first campaign in the Nigerian top flight. The early weeks looked like we were going to be in for a season long relegation battle but key wins around the mid-season point meant we survived comfortably. A big increase in revenue meant we were able to improve our junior coaching, youth recruitment and training facilities to the next level. Player stats were as good as can be when taking into account the step up in quality. Youth intake was better than it has been in recent years and this allowed us to bolster our numbers in a few areas. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Improve on our 14th place finish Look to improve our facilities again Secure key player contracts

Sometimes it is linked to the division you're in, i.e. some only allow amateur contracts. However, sometimes the option to offer PT contracts just disappears and then reappears again. There have been loads of posts on the forum about it over the years but I don't think I've ever read a good explanation from SI as to why this happens. I'd stick with it if I were you and hope that it becomes an option again soon. P O\'D
Lokeren Tense 32-33 I thought we overachieved last couple of seasons but that didn't appear to be the case. We did amazingly well in Europe making the Conference League Quarter Finals (having only the Belgian league loaded helps alot with this). We beat Napoli twice and drew with them once, eliminating them in the last 16. All 3 games were against the run of play but who cares lol. Newcastle though were a different beast and the tie was over 25 minutes into the first leg. Other European Stuff. Conference League Table. Spoiler In the league we established ourselves as the best of the rest. Comfortable season. Our cup run was the deepest we've went in the cup. Narrowly losing to Antwerp who in turn got crushed by the Brugge machine that are hoovering up Belgian titles like they're the only team in the league. Spoiler The Squad: Accidentally cropped stats. Its apps, goal, gp90, headers (no idea how that got in there) Assists and ap90 before rating. Rest of the Squad Spoiler And the Star Players of said Squad: Spoiler Youth Intake: Spoiler The Pick of the bunch from this years crop. Spoiler Awards: Around the Club: Yup thats right another takeover. Nobody wants this money pit. Despite not being as easy to bully this chairman to my whims we made some good off field progress before the buy out. Finally for anyone interested in how the world of football is shaping up, heres the changes in the holiday season and decade since I took over. Spoiler I'm actually a full season ahead of this point right now. So will likely post tomorrow too, to catch back up. We were not good enough all season. Despite that we were in the mix for safety up to the last game. It was just not to be. I liked Liga 3 more anyway... The Cups Nothing special, this season. We went out against top devision opposition both time. Youth Intake Nélson Glória 2701 | Nuno Floro 2702 | Danny Paterok 2703 | Rui Gaspar 2704 | Marco Tiago 2705 | Hugo Prazeres 2706 | Henrique Velasques 2707 | Saná Tavares 2708 | Francisco Raminhos 2709 | Nuno Piquete 2710 | Wellington Carioca 2711 | César Herequechand 2712 | Vítor Suárez 2713 | Olavo Tiba 2714 | Daniel Gyimah 2715 | Cláudio Garrana 2716 Gloria 2701 is the first youth product that got put in to the first team right away. Off the field No facilities upgrade again this year due to the finances. liga 2 money helped a lot with the balance. However mostly it resulted in the owner having to invest less. I have seen nothing off that money. They did however finally agreed to let me get another coaching badge. That did happen in the week after we got relegated, so... I geuss they finaly believe I need more schooling.

leyrtj
Season 11 - Atletico CP - Liga NOS - 12th Season 12 - Atletico CP - Liga NOS - 6th - Qualified for Europa League Two seaon update this time. The first season in the top flight we started relatively well and put some early points on the board. This meant relegation was never really an option. For the second season, as I didn't see us getting relegated, for most of the season I played the team with the highest potential - this included some established players in their position as well. We had an excellent second half of the seaosn and finished 6th, qualifying for the Europa League. For the first time, out odds dropped from 1000 - 1, and now sit at 400 - 1, with 13th predicted. We're still a long way off challenging for the league, but if we can keep this team together, it might only be 2 - 3 seasons away. Champions League is another thing altogether, with only 2 or 3 of the current squad good enough for that level. Still, I feel like I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Finance wise, we're doing really well. We sold off our third best midefielder for 10m. Unfortunately, a week before that bid came I sold out best player for 4 million. I sold him to make money for improvements, not knowing a 10m bid would come in a week later for a squad player. Still he's got a 30% sell-on and Man Utd are interested in signing him (from Juventus). We've managed to use the money to get double upgrades in Training and Youth, meaning they should be Good by October. I'll keep selling players to get those to State of the Art. The one squad issue is our star striker only has a year left on his contract and will only sign a new contract with a 14.5m release clause in it. We have absolutely no back up at striker so him leaving would be a disaster. We did get a 5 star striker through this year youth intake, but he's another pressing forward. Popular Post JAwtunes
Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2052/53 Review (s31) Season 31 This was a very similar season to last season, we even got knocked out of the Europa League by Milan again, and in the same round (2nd KO round) as we did last year. At one stage I was very concerned that we would fail to win the league, for what would have been the first time in about 2 decades. We were neck and neck with Cardiff Met Uni (yes, an amateur team!) and Colwyn Bay up until about 6 games from the end of the season. Thankfully our better quality showed and we held on to top spot again. This is vital as we need to play in Europe for as long as possible to slowly grow our reputation. We have an excellent young player Jamie McKenzie 50d (screenshot below) who looks like he could be our next top star. We haven't had a particularly good player come through for a decade or more, so I am chuffed that we managed to tie him down to a long contract with a 3yr optional extension. While we have developed a stellar offense, we still are lacking the quality in DM, CB & GK to actually hold defensively against the top goal-crazy sides. Spoiler Cup: 8th Final Round We got unlucky and drew Harmbek-Uhlenhorst pretty early in the competition, so again no sweet gate receipt revenue for us... Squad: CA & Overview: We are up to 2 players now over 50 CA our AML Efekan Sengul joins our STC Mehmet Can above the mark. Spoiler Data Hub: According to the basic Data Hub stats we seem to have done very well offensively, and only slightly bad defensively this season. Seems the new update broke the drawing of the Data Hub Graphs for Np-xG/90. Spoiler Statistics Excel: Will follow up with a secondary post for my season in statistics-manager Transfers: Still doing a number of development loans, it is helping me keep down the wage-bill. Of the players out the one I plan to bring back and use next season is Cesur Ipek. Even with a bad hip injury he did well out on loan in Turkey and he would easily be our #2 AP-S next season. Spoiler Youth Academy Youth Intake Preview: Youth Intake: Fairly Underwhelming Intake Spoiler YI Player Highlights: Spoiler The player that is most exciting is Ergun Turan. Perfect mental set up and 6’5” either footed CB with high bravery, I mean considering how awful our CBs are 6 decisions and marking is actually not a downgrade… We have a few possible AP-S players, all are just okay nothing spectacular. No one can pass well at all, which is annoying. We got a AMR prospect which is needed as for some reason this save I’m getting lots of Lefties and only really have 1 decent Right footed AMR. So how are the two GKs we got? Awful…oh well. Academy Data: HOYD: Spoiler Head Coach We hit 300 games! Spoiler Club The club is so broke its very worrying. Not sure what else I can do about it. We have the smallest stadium in the league at only 1,000 and I am underspending the wage budget. Soon I will start taking less youth players as my depth is finally starting to work, but that can only save so much money. Spoiler Manager Thoughts I'll save in depth comments on the performance for my stats update, but generally we are performing in the league as well as can be hoped for with the players we have. While I've been able to develop my offensive talent well enough, I really have just trash CBs, DMs & GKs which is a huge issue for being solid defensively. This intake failed to really deliver that 'star' defensive player, so hopefully my 16-18 year olds who are working their way into the team can get better faster. We will analyze how they did in the following post. One nice thing with loading the game after the update is my Logo Pack is finally working! Might try NewGan again as for some reason I just haven't been able to get it or the shirt-generator to work right with fm23.
Popular Post WhiteCat33
FC Elazig Spor Hamburg Statistics Manager - Percentile Ranking Performance Season 1 | Season 2 | Season 3 | Season 4 | Season 5 | Season 6 | Season 7 |Season 8 | Season 9 | Statistics: Intro & 2030 (S8) | 2029 (S7) & 2028 (S6) | Master Sheet Master Sheet Overview: Header Just want to show the current header to what the data limits of my tool are at the moment. It's designed right now to fit Wide-Shallow data rather than Narrow-Deep data. By that I mean it handles a large number of equally ranked leagues (wide) with a restrictive top-cohort of players from each league (shallow). This will need to be altered when I begin analyzing Tier1 and Tier2 performance data. Summary Statistics & Players of Selected Team This is unchanged from the last session. Still shows all players of the team of focus (my team here) with a specific positions summary statistics made visible. Summary Statistics (repeated) & All Players in Division at Position This is a pretty big update to the tool (and required another round of Array formulas to generate). To do this, I had to repeat the same kind of array formulas but this time to isolate the lists of UIDs that have each position within the selected league. These datasets are the backbone for any kind of true comparative analysis of my players to their positional-peers. There is one downside to these formulas: it significantly increases processing time when switching leagues. I am building this on a 1 year old $500 laptop and while the calculation time is noticeable its only a couple seconds. If you're playing on a toaster though this might get painful... I'll probably build a 'small player' version of this eventually. Percentile Rank Statistics! This is what I'm excited about sharing as you look at that massive table of numbers and your eyes glaze over. It's hard enough to compare normal numbers, but when you're trying to determine if your players .93 OP K-Passes is significantly worse than the .94 Average its basically impossible. Say hello to the wonderfully simple Percentilerank( )! I've then used conditional formatting to highlight performance at a glance: 0-10% (RED) , 10-25% (Orange), 75-90% (Blue), 90-100% (Green). STC - Mehmet Can Spoiler Of course, I'm going to use our star player as our test case because Mehmet Can is unbelievably good for us when he's on the pitch. He has the highest Shots on Target / 90 min and the highest Shots on Target Ratio of any Striker in the Hamburg Oberliga. So even though he's just in the upper group of shots (78%), he's putting them on frame way better than anyone else to give him the highest ShoT with that low of a Shot/90. He then is in the very top echelon of Goals/90, Conversion Ratio, and very interestingly Chances Created /90. He is a Deep Lying Forward so he not only is performing as the focal finisher, but is also effective coming back to set up scoring plays for my line of 3 AMs. So why do I make the comment about being on the pitch? Because this season Mehmet's "Injury Proneness" reared its ugly head with him suffering both a moderate and a Major injury in matches resulting in him missing 8 weeks of the season out injured (not including easing him back into the rotation afterwards): AML - Efekan Sengul Spoiler The statistics are pretty bad here for my AML, which is concerning. Yes he has one of the highest sprints, but our whole team does due to my high-pressure and counter strategy. What has me worried is that even with the dribbling player trait & with 'run at opponents' selected in our instructions, he is only average for the league in dribbles. He then has a very bad Cross Attempted (72%) to Cross Completed (39%) statistics combined with the worst passing percentage for 2000 min AMLs in the whole league! This to me points to two options. The Easiest is to change him to an IW from a W, like I have going on for my other flank. The issue here is it goes-against his player trait. The other (longer term) option which is what I'm working on is to improve his mental aspect of the game and then his crossing ability. With him being Resolute he is by far the best developing player in the team. I'm also adding the 'beat opponent repeatedly' player trait as he has the perfect traits for it for a Tier 5 player: 13s for dribble, technique, flair Accel with 12 pace and 11 agility. As his mental game improves I'll be watching his statistics to see if those improve as well. Sounds like I could use some kind of year-to-year comparison statistic... AMC - Baris Yesil Spoiler Our VC and one of only 2 legacy players still starting he shows that he certainly deserves to have that spot as our creative #10. I make serious use of his 17 aggression and teamwork and 15 work rate with his Sprints and Pressing being top notch. He then has a truly impressive number of statistics in the 80% range. The two huge worries for him as an AP-S is he has the worst passing % and a really poor Chance Created statistic. This is a real trend for us and I attribute significantly to the style of play we have. We are very much a higher pressure and direct-counter team who doesn't try to hold onto the ball. Basically because no one on the team can pass. Everyone has less than 10 skill in passing with most between 5-8. I have 7 other players who made the 2000 min cut-off so I'll just show their screenshots quickly and talk in general after: What is clearly obvious? My FBs are good, I had one Okay CB and then an awful DM and bad 2nd CB. The 2nd CB is actually my #2 LB, but because my CB depth is just horrendous he played enough there to get selected. My FBs are basically the best attacking FBs in the league while being the highest tacklers as well as pretty good on plenty of other attributes. Unfortunately my LB is the other legacy player and is now 33 so has maybe 1 or 2 more seasons in him at this level of performance. Hopefully, by time I have to send him on I'll have developed his replacement. I don't know what to do about DMs. I have a bunch of 1.5-2* players who are all just slow and unskilled with varying degrees of mental acumin. I'll use what I have for now while I wait for the star to emerge from the Hamburg Turkish population. At CB we were noticeably better when my German/Italian Denny Pepe could be registered in January. It's pretty telling when I see 8 for Marking & Decisions and consider him one of our best options... Spoiler What about GKs? I have actually started building GK & the unused Positions (WBs & Midfielders) but it isn't done yet so I haven't added it into the Master Sheet selector. Here you can see some partial stats on my (bad) GK. Honestly, I haven't looked into this enough to really understand what's best to go for, I just know he has made tons of errors and I have a second GK whose ability is roughly the same and costs 80 p/w less towards my wage bill so I'm just going to make the change. Hopefully I can loan out my old starter instead of selling him just in case I need him as we have no depth here. Position Cleaning The less exciting progress is fixing the dirty hard code of position so the stats should be accurately summing only players of a position. I am up to ~120 hard-coded combinations as new weird combos get added each season. I've properly cleaned the FB & CB positions, which brings the tool a step closer to sharing. I really want this finished before I share it as the hard-codes are almost guaranteed to produce dropped players when others import their season statistcs. Statistics Manager Thoughts With how I'm just biding my time in the save till I generate quality defenders I am spending much more time 'playing' in excel than actually in FM. Even at such a low level of Football and with the most basic of summary statistics there's already information to use to hopefully improve my offense to even further overperform on Goal Scoring.

AcademyAllTheWay
Hello everyone! I want to share my save history. I know I do not qualify for the challenge completion since I have no proof I was following the rules of it. And I was using several downloaded tactics. I did tweak them to suit my team, but still. I am sharing the story as one might still get some useful information from it, since it feels like this year FM doesn't rely that heavily on tactics, more on pure squad strength. It took me longer than usual to get to win UCL and PL. I started with a holiday man and after the season picked Tamworth as one of the teams just promoted to Vanarama North. After spending 2 years in Vanarama North, I could win the promotion to Vanarama National. It took me another 5(!) years to promote into Sky Bet League Two. This is when I realized that this year FM is not about OP tactics Long story short, I reached Premier Division in 2038 Spoiler 2047/2048 is the first year I could get the title, reach my first UCL final and win it. Two of my best central midfielders were injured before the game, so I was not expecting much. Lucky last minute's crossbar saved me from going into extra time and got me the UCL title. Spoiler Here are the manager stats Spoiler My best player (yes, he is slow ): Spoiler and the squad: Spoiler I don't know now if I should continue with the save, kinda sad that UCL's won from the first try.

Popular Post Riebow
Arras FA Season Review (28/29): Les Boyaux Rouges League: It took us three seasons to get out of the National - 3 and it took us the same amount of time to get out of National - 2! We're up to the National after a comfortable season where we cruised to the title from beginning to end. Cup: We were knocked out in the 8th round after a narrow loss to League 2-team Amiens. Intake: For the 2nd year in a row the highest rated prospect is a GK, which is a shame as you can only play one and the one from last year (Muharrem Keles) is doing quite well. Yohann Bizasène: Fairly Determined GK, who is rated higher than the prospect from last intake. Next season we'll have a competitive battle for the First-Choice Goalkeeper position. Spoiler Teddy Atooman: Also Fairly Determined, an extra player for on the wing. I have some options to play right back, so I'm training him to play on the left. Spoiler Best XII: Defence massively improved thanks to the resurgence of Michel Jourdan (avg rating of 7.61!!), who I had to promise promotion or he was threatening to walk out (luckily at that point I was 12 points ahead of 2nd placed team) Next Season: With the promotion to the National secured, some necessary changes needed to be made. Our cosy 2000-seat stadium wouldn't do for this level of football, so the board went out to rent out a new stadium... Which has the full amount of... 368 seats. And oh yeah, is located in L'étrat, which according to Google Maps is a suburb of... Saint-Etienne, a measly 726km away from Arras . I mean, why not go all the way and rent something at the Cote d'Azur, we could at least get some sun. I'm very curious how they will convey this to our loyal fans.

Popular Post fries
Premier League 2041/42 (season 19) Season Summary Back from a few weeks' FM break. A great season. Until we hit a bad form in April we were actually title contenders. But in the end, we managed to get a third position and qualify for the Champions League. It is the best season so far in the league. We did well in the Europe League. But lost again in the semi-finals. Both my first-choice forward, Carle, and second-choice forward, Owen, did very well with 27 and 28 goals respectively. Smith, Jensen, and Hall also did well. For the first time in the history of the club, we had a player on the GOAL50 list. Smith is the 41st-best player in the world. Owen won a lot of awards from his performance in Europa League. I only had one player on the NXGN list this season. Hall was number two on the list, 2 years after he actually won the award. The youth intake preview looked very promising. 5 stars. And great ratings in a lot of positions. The intake was okay, but a bit disappointing. Savas looks great but he is the only elite talent. Savas looked most promising. No transfers out of significance. Finances and Upgrades No upgrades this season. Next season I hope we can get a Champions League spot again next season.

With the Winter Update I figured why not go back and see if by some miracle things with the board were better in Luxembourg. Sadly, still no YF Upgrade option and it seems I too recently asked the board for a new ground, so I can't try that unless I play for a few months. I figured since I was in the game, might as well test out my tools on this save-file as I built both my CA and Moneyball spreadsheets after I stopped playing here. Save Summary: As its been a few months since I've posted about Luxembourg (and I think I've missed 2 seasons worth of updates on it) I figure it's worth summarizing where this club is at. We have defended our BGL Ligue title for our 4th consecutive and 11th total. We however didn't do well in the cup, so were not able to repeat our domestic double. In Europe we made it through the Champions' League Group stage finishing a very respectable 13th with a 4-3-1 record only losing to 2nd place Hertha Berlin. What is very interesting in this universe is that Man City finished 15th, PSG 16th and Bayern in 20th. More on the French and German Leagues shortly (both loaded and playable). We then got Club Brugge in the Playoff and unfortunately couldn't topple them losing 3-2 on Aggregate. I've loaded the save before the final which is EA Guingamp vs Hertha Berlin. Spoiler Club Infrastructure: The reason why I paused a save that is going so well is due to the Youth Facility shennanigans. Here is my current facility setup: Just Good YF & a 13K Standing stadium that only gets in 8,624 for European Matches. Spoiler And no option to Upgrade: Spoiler And here is our Bank balance & Supporters: Stupid money and an obscene Season Ticket Waiting List: Spoiler Germany & France: Now that I'm done complaining, what's really interesting in this Universe is how far down Bayern and PSG have fallen in the most recent seasons. Looking at the CL Final matchup above it seems to be some wild upsets, but it's actually pitting the French and German Champions against each other! Hertha absolutely crushed the Bundesliga with 11 points on 2nd Dortmund. In France EA Guingamp won a more modest title by only 6 points to Bordeuax. What's fascinating is in both countries Bayern and PSG finished 4th both well off the point total of the champion. You'll see at least Bayern was the previous champion in Germany and have been contesting the title for the past 5 years with Dortmund, Hertha and shockingly Shalke who have become a consistent top 4 team in Germany. In France PSG has been dethroned by EA Guingamp (who obviously got their own Tycoon owner) having conceded their 5th straight league title to the upstarts. In the past years they were 2nd, so who knows if this is the start of a real decline for PSG or just a one-off bad year. Spoiler Team Current Ability So how good did I get my Luxembourg team? I have a very young team in Luxembourg as its just turning the corner on a full squad rebuild with only my GK, LB and LM having a senior player as the first choice. The rest of the squad is between 16 - 20, just starting to take off in development. I play a 4-4-2 here, so I'll need to eventually update the table to show the right positions, but here is using the same 4-2-3-1 I developed for Elzaig Spor: My standardized variables are set so that a 100 score would mean the player has all 20's in the role-specific attributes. 50 is an average of 10. A role high of 70 is .7*20 = 14. Pretty sure we would all agree that a player that averages a 14 across all the role-specific attributes would be a welcome addition to any end game team (even if just as a substitute/rotation option). This is the level that my top players are at. Not bad, but certainly not world class. The upside though is none of these players have yet peaked, so there's a very real chance they could reach the 140-150 CA range. The best of our standout young talents wont be signing a future contract with us, as they feel they have outgrown the club. Rolo has 3 years left, Condeiro 4 years & Ferreira 5 years (with their extensions activated): Spoiler I don't have any analysis on the CA Sheet, but from just the untrained eye it looks like most of my regular starters are around 100 CA, and my 3 star youngsters are pushing towards 130 CA, which they will almost certainly surpass before they peak/ get stolen away form us. Moneyball Statistics: In this universe the Luxembourg league has settled into 17th rank with Belgium in 6th and Portugal in 7th. They aren't really comparable leagues, but I don't have any 2nd tiers loaded here to more accurately compare with Luxembourg. If I play this save I'll activate Ligue 2 (France), Bundesliga 2 (Germany) & Romania/Serbia to build a cohort to compare against the BGL Ligue. Spoiler Here is an overview of what's happened in Belgium and Portugalrtugual: Spoiler This is how I set up the Scouting and the resulting player universe. I lowered the minutes down to 1000 to increase the player-count and at that amount I think you still get decent average statistics. Summary Statistics: Here I'll do a spoiler for each league with their champion club selected. This will provide each league benchmark. Remember though for the Full group (BEL-POR-LUX) this probably isn't the best "horizontal" league group, so I wouldn't depend on those numbers for much. Another remark, remember I've only finished the 4-2-3-1 Formation Positions. I'll also add the WIP GK. Luxembourg: ALS Porto (my team) Spoiler Portugal: PTM Spoiler Belgium: KRC Genk Spoiler Will I Return to Luxembourg? Probably not. The "Good" Facilities will have no chance of being upgraded for at least 4 years till I can expect a board takeover. In my save the Board has changed ever 6-8 years, and we are 4 years into the current board. By the time I can upgrade those I'll have lost my 3 star players for money I don't need and probably still won't be able to move into a bigger statdium which is crucial to improve our reputation and hopefully then our YF. Just thought it would be helpful to show some summary statistics for top-flights that actually have relevance for people. Addendum on CA Calculations: It's worth mentioning that my CA calculation is very much an estimate as I don't have the editor to build an authentic CA database. I generate my CA using FM Scout's CA calculator to create a gird of uniform ability players as well as CA weights for each attribute by position. Once I weight my players' attributes I use liner interpolation to calculate where my players sit between the standardized players. It's not perfect but gives a reasonable idea of where my players' CA is. Edited March 3, 2023 by WhiteCat33
JAwtunes
@WhiteCat33your facilities screen looks identical to mine. My finance are pushing £300M though, and I have a few youth development goals from my board😂 We need a miracle and suddenly have worldwide reputation for our clubs, but cant see that happening in Luxembourg or Wales!

I at least have somewhat of a chance because I'm using an edited database so it doesn't have the SI imposed hard-caps like you do in Wales. Wouldn't shock me if they just full on blocked some stuff for Welsh clubs for 'Realism". But it is a very slim chance for me that tbh I don't have the patience to wait out. There is one shot of glory coming in my save. In 2 seasons I'll have my young stars developed and still with us as well as my GK will be at the very end of his life (37). Considering we lost to the Bundesliga Champions 1-0 (and possible Champions League Winners) if the stars align we could do it....
AlwaysNalah
I could not get the database I was using for Africa to work, the registration windows were missing the season causing chaos, so I finally managed to find one that did what I needed, and started up again in Senegal. We have every African nation and most European nations loaded on View Only. After holidaying for a Season, we took over Yeggo, who were predicted lower mid table. but with very few players and only 1 striker with 3 finishing it was going to be a tough season, but we start with decent facilities. The one downside to this database vs Timos is no prize money unless you get into the continental cups and losing mass amounts of money. We started the season in terrible form and over the course of the first 9 games had 5 red cards, without the ability to make change we were up against it, but a 6 game run over December/Jan gave us a bit of a buffer and there was 2 teams really struggling below us. Pretty much all of our goals had to come from set plays and it was a real struggle. We won the game below 1-0, might be the best fm I have ever had. The intake was so good, it actually lowered the ratings of my first team and gives me a bit of hope to push into mid table next year, terrible personalities though, to say the striker was an upgrade might be an understatement Edited March 3, 2023 by AlwaysNalah
Libertine13
2032/33 (season 10) Our 10th season in charge was looking to be a very challenging one. After last season's very respectable finish we had a handful of players looking to destroy the positive atmosphere around the club by wanting moves to bigger clubs. Left back, Albert George 27A, had been a constant problem for me with missing training on a number of occasions and kicking up a fuss when calling him out for poor performances and decided he'd see out his contract. Jonathan Johnston 31A, our 17 year old 5 star keeper, was adamant he was better off elsewhere. As was our other 5 star player and star player, Robbie-Lee Clingan 29A. Luckily for me the latter two had at least 4 years on their contracts, what with them both having a couple of decent extension clauses so I was prepared to power through their discontent. Despite this we started the season well (if we ignore the opening loss against relegation tipped Institute) and found ourselves amongst the fully professional teams half way through the first part of the season. Once the matches started to come thick and fast we tailed off, we haven't got any depth at the club at all and our main players were pretty much always playing through tiredness! We got to the point where the league split for the remaining 5 matches of the season in 4th place, just a couple of points ahead of perennial 4th placers, Glentoran and an absolute mile off the top 3 pro teams. Our record against the top three has been abysmal over the years so the games against Glentoran and Coleraine would be vital. Up first were our rivals for 4th place, Glentoran. It wasn't pretty but we ran out 1-0 winners, that man Robbie-Lee Clingan 29A grabbing the winner in the second half. That gave us a 5 point cushion with the top three teams to play within a week. We actually lost each of those 3 games by a single goal, but in truth we were woeful in each game. In fact, we didn't even beat Coleraine in our final fixture who we were 20 points clear of. It was a good job we'd already wrapped up 4th spot by then! Robbie-Lee Clingan 29A had an absolute nightmare end to the season, last four matches he went 6.0, 5.7, 6.0 and 5.7! I've never seen anything like it. European Places Play Offs; Spoiler So into the play off for the last European spot. The importance of finishing 4th in the league meant that we'd play the best team from the bottom half on the table which was Glenavon. We hadn't been in the best of form going into this match but we managed to shake off the fears of a massive end of season slump to to the game to bed before half time. Finally Robbie-Lee Clingan 29A found some form, a hat trick in the first half including a penalty. Glenavon pulled one back just before the hour mark but it wasn't enough to stop us progressing to the final! It was no surprise we ended up facing Glentoran in the final, though they did only just beat Coleraine by the one goal. We'd only managed to beat Glentoran twice in the last 18 meetings, however those two wins have come in the last 5 matches and we've only lost one game in there as well, so technically we were the form team in this fixture! We were actually without 4 players due to international call ups, which was incredibly frustrating! As expected it was an incredibly tight affair, very little happened in the first half but I'd say Glentoran did have the slightly better chances. We were a bit more positive in the second half and actually got the opening goal through Stephen Newberry 26A, who's actually leaving on a free at the end of the season. Somehow we managed to weather a small storm and got the all important second goal with 14 minutes left. Substitute winger, Keith Gallagher 31C getting on the scoresheet. BUT within a minute we'd conceded. Straight from kick off, it seemed like we'd all lost focus after the relief of our second goal. Thankfully we managed to hold on and win the European Play Off Final! Best XI; Spoiler Youth Intake; Spoiler It was another fairly underwhelming preview but I was hoping the full backs would either provide cover or be retrainable as decent centre backs. The actual intake had a centre half that would almost certainly go straight into the first team! The left sided winger was very welcome as well. Weirdly this intake didn't correlate to the preview at all, I'm not sure if it's a bug or because of the recent update. But I'll take it, for now. Conor Gracey 33A Sean Bassett 33B Derek Keeley 33C Bit of a word dump on this one, apologies. Think I'll do a ten season review with other bits of the club development etc next. I've not once mentioned finances or facilities!
Popular Post DumbGeraffe
Save Review One last update to the longest FM save that I have ever done. I stopped updating the forum on my progress a long time ago because I was struggling how to figure out how to post on the forum without constantly screwing up the formatting and I'm lazy. Here's a general overview of the history of the team in the Danish football divisions Spoiler Before I was finally able to win the Superliga, FC Kobenhavn had won the league every year except 32/33. Most years they were well clear of second. My run at the top is almost entirely due to them falling off in recent years (point totals the last seven years: 88, 75, 74, 69, 66, 68, 55). They also had some success in continental tournaments, winning the Europa League and making it to a few CL quarter-finals. The league as a whole has overperformed, with Denmark going into the last season ranking above Italy at fifth in club coefficients (giving four CL spots). Slagelse Europa Conference League History Spoiler Slagelse Europa League History Spoiler 45/46 Season Overview Spoiler We managed to finish first in the Superliga again, having our worst season in terms of points since a few years back. Thankfully the quality of the competition was the worst it had been since I'd made the top division, and I was able to start resting players towards the end of the season without having to worry too much about losing the title. In terms of the Champions League, this was the sixth consecutive season that Slagelse had qualified, each year previously we had made it through the group stage, but the furthest we had made it was the quarter-finals where we lost to Newcastle the year prior. This year we managed to walk through the group stage. Spoiler Moving onto the round of 16, we had a favorable draw in which we were matched up against PSV which we won quite easily 3-0. In the quarter-final, we faced what is still Germany's strongest team, Bayern Munich. After falling behind 1-0 in the away leg, we came back and won 3-1 in extra time, led by a 10.0 rating and a hat trick from star striker Nicolai Pohl. Spoiler Next, we faced Barcelona, still led by Xavi. In the away leg we were lucky enough to see their star DM get red carded at the start of the second half, and were lucky enough to come home tied 1-1. Spoiler This one was a nail-biter from start to finish. The only changes I made to my main formation throughout the entire save was moving from 2cm to 1cm/1dm or 2dm. I settled with 2 defensive midfielders for every game since the quarter-finals and I think it paid off in this matchup. In a matchup we deserved to win, the boys were able to pull out the comeback. It all ended on May 26th, 2046, when headed to the Allianz Arena to face Pep Guardiola and now 6-time Champions League victors Manchester City. The first big moment of the game came in the 29th minute, when my star player Mattis Frach tackled a player in the box and gave Man City a penalty. However, Slagelse and Danish international Daniel Tingager came up with a massive save near the left post. In the fiftiest minute a similar penalty would occur, this time going against Man City. This time, Frach would get his shot at redemption, and wouldn't you believe it, he hit a shot to the exact same spot Man City went and it got saved in the exact same manner. However, the first successful conversion of the game came just 3 minutes later, with ever-underperforming central defender Kenneth Vinterberg taking a header from an indirect free kick from Frach from the edge of the box and putting it over the GK. 1-0 Slagelse! Spoiler Afterwards Man City would get a couple shots on target, but thanks to arguably the best game of Tingager's career, the lead would hold and after the full time whistle blew Slagelse would go on to hold the trophy! Spoiler Takeaways The big one: I got incredibly lucky this season. The hope was to make the quarter-finals again and even then I wasn't expecting that to happen this season. That being said, the finals were the only match that I didn't outperform my opponent in terms of xG, so I like to think that the milestone was deserved. Danish leagues were much more competitive in my save than they normally are. This made breaking into the top places more difficult, but the bump in reputation really enabled my team to make continual progress rather than stall as we've seen with other saves on this version. Make any attempt to win competitions and increase your rep as much as possible. I was a 4 star rep club going into the season with 3.5 star youth facilities. Spoiler I'm a massive proponent of the 4-2-4 in this game. It feels much stronger in this version than it did in previous editions. I strongly believe that playing to score more goals is incentivized stronger in Football Manager than prioritizing defense. If you're not micromanaging you won't be successful. All that time that is normally spent scouting NEEDS to be spent signing the best coaches (I tried signing as many model citizens for my youth team, I think it paid off but I can't confirm) and assigning responsibilities, signing contracts that lock your players down as long as possible, finding affiliates, and abusing any potential morale boosts available to you. These are all necessities and dong something like screwing up and losing your best player could legitimately put you back several seasons. Also, there's a point decades into the save where money is a non-factor and you need to see if there's any additional costs that you could potentially add to your expenses that could help you. If you have $100 million in the bank and there's a coach who's marginally better than the one you have but you have to pay $2 million in compensation just to sign him, it's worth it. You're past the point where your going to run out of money. I tried prioritizing signing my best players to 8 year contracts (5 + optional 3) as soon as they turned 18. Earlier in the save, some players weren't willing to stay by the time they turned 18. It's a judgement call you have to make whether or not it's worth it to play the stud 16 yo newgen you got and potentially lose him or let him develop a bit more and ensure you get a long term deal when he's old enough that let's you maintain control while he's in his FM prime (probably somewhere around 21-25). Finally, I had a golden generation of newgens at the right time that propelled me forward. Around 2040, I was expecting to finish the challenge no earlier than at least a decade later. Thankfully, I had at least 1 or 2 quality players come through every year. If you can find a stable base to your squad, your team will get much better and it will become easier to retain players. Until then, unfortunately all you can do is wait and try to keep it together, and most importantly, be fairly lucky. It's unfortunate, but we're all aware going in that is what it comes down to. P O\'D
Lokeren Tense 33-34 Another season where we made Conference League QF's. Unreal. We could have went further but a poor showing vs Sparta (in both legs). Still pretty good all in all. In all honesty though I don't think we'd have had anything for Spurs or Vigo in the later rounds so happy enough. Spoiler In the league we had a decent season and showed how good we are compared to the mid table sides winning 8 and drawing 2 of the back 10 in the Euro Qualifiers to return to the conference league. We could probably kick on but I feel its way too difficult to come top 4 out of the 6 that get there. I didn't cheese it or anything but I did strategically rotate the team to make sure we didn't pip to 6th in the main season. The Belgian Cup was much ado about nothing. Spoiler The Squad Heres the squad with stats. Amazing campaign from Ortmann. I really need to remove headers from my stats though. Others Spoiler And heres the attributes and main page of our stars. Spoiler Youth: 12 players that were rated either elite or top had me super happy. Some dodgy mentalities but positive nonetheless. Noah Cornez and Henkes look the standouts, Cornez could probably already play DM for us, his mentals in particular are fantastic. Its a position where we are strong though. henkes also quite good but again in a position where we are super strong and deep. This is probably the strongest youth pull we've had though. Keep an eye on our 34's going forward. Spoiler Picks of the Bunch. Spoiler Not alot happened off the pitch so it kind of as you were finances and facilities wise. We're in a pretty good spot right now. As long as we can griend the Conference League to combat the finances bug we'll be golden.

karax268
After relegating last season I'm now bottom of the table again. And I don't see things improving quickly. Players aren't developing anymore. and the finances remain bad. This has been one of the weirdest saves I've done in a while. I'm not giving up, yet. But I am putting the save on hold and try a different one for a while. Maybe youth only, we'll see.

I had expected us to struggle this season, but we just kept on not losing matches. Sure we drew a lot this season, but only 5 losses are quite amazing. Wraith灬
ENFIELD TOWN FC - SEASON 1 - 22/23 (FM22) My first time managing a club that is actually younger than I am in real life (by a month :D). Will hopefully take them all the way to the top. I don't usually manage in England, so this is my first ever proper long term save here. I think Enfield are a good club to do this challenge with. Nice kits, nice logo, based in London (I think, correct me if I'm wrong). They even have a stadium called the Queen Elizabeth II (doesn't it make you feel patriotic already?). According to their website they're also the first fully fan owned club in the country. Great choice to try and win it all with local talent, with a good scope for expansion. Season Preview and other information We're actually predicted to not get relegated, which is a first for me starting out this kind of challenge. our squad isn't the worst either, though we do have the worst staff in the entire league by far. Financials aren't too bad either, we have around 80k in the bank. Manager was made using a random name / nationality generator
Popular Post grff
Ifeanyi Ubah FC: 2027/28 Season Review Another promising season as we improve on last season's 14th place finish by achieving a 9th place spot. We are yet to have any kind of success in the Nigerian Cup which is a slight disappointment. The increase in revenue has again allowed to to improve all areas of facilities and recruitment/coaching which will hopefully produce some newgen gems. Pleasing numbers from a collection of players. Most importantly, our striker bagged the league's top scorer award. Youth intake was a mixed bag. We did take on a few to see how they could improve. Popular Post leyrtj
Season 12 - Atletico CP - Liga NOS - 7th In some ways this was a really good season. We finished a solid 7th in the league, backing uo our 6th from last season. We've given enough game time to our youth and some are stepping up to be key players. And we reached the final of Europa Conference League, where we outplayed but lost to Leicester. However, before the season began the sold our best player and only striker, Pedro Trindade, who was top scorer in Liga NOS the year before. He only had a year left on his contract and wanted double in wages to we could afford pay him to resign. Inter offered 17 million, and it was probably a good decision to sell him anyway. The problem was (still is), we didn't have anyone ready to replace him. We experimented with a couple of players, then settled on our best prospect with was only 1.5 stars. He's dubbed the next Eusebio so I thought I would give him the game time to progress. At only 4 finishing, he played as a False 9 in an already defensive formation, but top scored for our team with.....7 goals all season - which says a lot about our team. We've had a lot of talented players come through our youth ranks, but not many in the AMC/ST role. Still, we finish the season in better shape than we started in, and there's a young core of a potentially title winning team here. We need to push for top 4 and champions league qualification next season, as some of are better players are asking for release clauses for teams in the Champions League. Our first official wonderkid Very disappointing intake. Edited March 4, 2023 by leyrtj
DazRTaylor
With the update now out, I wanted to start afresh. I am in January at the time of writing so this should stick without getting sacked. Time will tell! I holidayed for three seasons to get a club that starts the game in the eighth tier. I've got mind up a bit after the 2nd takeover at Lokeren as this chairman actually values youth. It is possible just a pain in the butt. No changes to Belgium in the patch sadly. Think SI don't know how to fix it honestly. Its been bugged since last year iirc. otherwise I don't know if you have seen the recent news showing that huge numbers of teams from 1a and 1B have dark red numbers in Belgian football so it might still be partly realistic .
reggaeboy81
Season 1 Review: Managed to complete the first season without being sacked, good positive start lead to a good points total, second half of the season hit poor runs, but survived comfortably. Youth intake wasnt great so another season battling againt relegation ahead.

Popular Post P O\'D
Lokeren Tense 34-35 European Glory on the back of a nice draw! Crazy, we consistently batter Sociedad (San Sebastian). Our first trophy in the bag and its a biggie. Conference League Table and Other Results: Spoiler In the league I went balls out to do as well as I could and we had a brilliant performance. We're such strong finishers. 7-1-2 in the Champions group. Even Brugge only went 5-3-2 I have no idea why we consistently do so well in Europe and these end of season qualifiers but somehow conspire to struggle in the league. Fully expecting a title push next season on the back of this though. 5 home wins from 5 games also. Its weird cause it feels like we're still miles behind Brugge and Genk (despite the latters struggles) as they consistently destroy us away from home. We've got a cracking record vs Anderlecht though. We really have to get our January to March form sorted if we want a title challenge. The cup yet again was a washout. Shocking loss to a poor Westerlo team. I gotta stop setting low bonuses for it I think. The Squads: Spoiler Stats: Spoiler Goals: Assists Apps Star Players (We now have 8 players of 3.5 or higher stars): Spoiler Youth: My HoyD is really excited for Reynders and Chibani. Hopefully one of them is a similar talent to last seasons Noah Cruz (who is a baller). Spoiler Youth Picks of the Bunch: Spoiler Other Stuff: (Theres alot) I practically can't fail getting into Europe now. I've spoiled this is the discussion earlier but finally YF upgrade became available. I'm spending that Euro Conference money like crazy. Sorry for such a big post, its a lot of images lol.
Popular Post grff
Ifeanyi Ubah FC: 2028/29 Season Review European African football beckons! Our progress continues on a upward trajectory as we finish 3rd in the league to clinch a place in the CAF Confederation Cup. I've absolutely no idea how we will do as I barely know which teams are good in our own league Player stats were pretty good once again. Our main striker was the league top scorer once again. Youth intake was pretty decent. We now have 6 or 7 homegrown players making up the first XI. Transfers Season history Aims for next season Look to clinch a top 2 finish Give a good account in the CAF Confederation Cup. Avoid losing our best players Edited March 5, 2023 by grff
Sn00gle
Kotwica Kołobrzeg - 2033/34 Squad - League - Finances - Transfers This will be quick update as I didn't played FM for long time as I was overplayed so I lost point what was done Back to game we finish season without place in Europe after 4 straight seasons. No trophy, and in ECL we lost to IFK Göteborg 1-2 and 1-3 unlucky for us main GK was injured so couldn't fight as we should. Two players in NXGN 2034 Ostrowski at 3rd place No foreign intake this year but we got decent offensive power. Popular Post Cultured Left Foot
If you'd like to follow along with this in more detail, its a video series on my YouTube channel : http://www.YouTube.com/c/CulturedLeftFoot SEASON 17 - REVIEW (CHAMPIONSHIP) Season 17 marked a milestone in my managerial career as we reached 900 games in management (and 900 in charge of Guiseley!) We had a good performance in the League securing safety and getting the riches of the payouts too ! An epic 4-4 draw guaranteed our safety! And we were deemed the biggest overachievers of the 2039/40 season. Also on the pitch, we had a good game against Chelsea in the FA Cup 3rd Round. And the EFL cup saw us beat Southampton on penalties ! Away from the pitch, we got a new owner (FINALLY !) And with the money coming in from Championship involvement, the new owners were happy to spend! And they also announced the plans for a new stadium, although they haven't found a site for it yet! In terms of youth recruitment, we had a good number of A's predicted, and the youth intake certainly did bolster the U18s and U21s. And when we look at the sponsorship table, we can see how far away from the other teams in the league we are ! We are heading into another season of the Championship and looking forward to earning 5 million GBP purely for playing in the league. Hopefully we can finish slightly higher this season, but another year of safety would be fine! Onwards we go to Season 18. WISH US LUCK ! Riebow
Arras FA Season Review (29/30): Les Boyaux Rouges League: It was our first season in the National, and we were very close to the Promotion Play-offs. We were tied 3rd place with Vendée Herbiers Foot at the last game of the season and we were playing each other on top of that. I had a better goal difference so a tie would do, but it wasn't to be. We lost 2-1 and another season in the National it will be! Cup: We were knocked out in the 8th round (again) by Paris FC. Intake: I'm still waiting for that wow intake. I'm starting to think that sharing your youth facilities with a bigger team might mean you're fishing out of the same pool, with them getting the better prospects. Milorad Petkovic: Best of the bunch. I'm not playing with wingers, but he has potential to play as a Pressing Forward Spoiler Thomas Daguerre: Nice looking full back, expect for that acceleration. Spoiler Best XII: A bit weird that it doesn't include my topscorer Adrien Célerier, but he had a lot of bad games as well, so his avg rating might have suffered a bit. In midfield Kourouma wants to leave to a better squad and doesn't want to sigh a new contract. So far nobody wants to offer his transfer value of ... 46K. Other: The decision (probaby a bug) to move to the south of France and rent a miniature stadium has really hurt us financially. We were averaging an attendance close to 500, before promoting to the National. Now we're hard capped to 369, which means we're losing tons of money each month, as we're almost nothing getting in terms of gate receipts and match day income. Next season: I was a bit surprised with how well we did our first season. The teams relegated from League 2 seem worse than the ones who just got promoted (Valenciennes and Stade Lavallois) out of National. Promotion would mean we would become a professional team, which would be a big next step in the development of our team.
AlwaysNalah
Season 2 Yeggo Foot in Senegal So finally a database that works has got me excited to continue on this African adventure, but a few things I wanted to touch on, Senegal - Youth Rating in Fm22 - 80 Senegal Top Flight - ranked 30th in Africa , below a lot of our West African rivals, Togo (have risen due to ASKO doing well in the Conf cup), Mali, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria. Yeggo Foot - 5th highest youth facilities in the top 2 flights from what I can see - there are 4 teams in the academies league with same or higher, which should help us Database - I have all of Davetheeditors African leagues loaded on View-Only and i think about 15 of the top European leagues, with all players from Africa loaded, only a database of about 55000, i tried to run it with all of Africa playable but my old laptop almost died. I have been monitoring the transfers every month and there is very little movement to Europe so far, I know that view only reduced transfers but will be interesting to see if this changes over time, it will be one of our only sources on income in the whole game! After scraping survival in season 1 and having a great intake, we cleared out all the players who were 1-2 stars and over the age of 23, and are predicted on opening day to be a solid mid-table side, but the transfer window does not close until the middle of Jan, so plenty of time for the other teams to sign players. The one big downside to this save is the 5 month off season and no holidays so lots of friendly games played, and we held our own against top flight teams. Outs Spoiler Team Spoiler Predictions Spoiler Apologies for the non end of season ramble just wanted to get my thoughts down and glad to finally be sinking into a modern FM, its been quite a culture shock from FM17 and Fm12 which I have been my go to games for the last decade!
