Lyon - La Duchère.

I am starting a new Youth Academy Challenge with Lyon - La Duchère.

I started one in Argentina at the start of this game cycle but I lost interest because the youth development growth at the time was buggy.

I'm going to France because I have great experience managing in the country with Cannes in one of my previous saves and also the youth rating is one of the best in the game.

Badak Lampung FC - Wikipedia bahasa Indonesia, ensiklopedia ...

Badak Lampung - Season Seven - Indonesian League One - Mid Year Review

League - Currently 3rd

We were predicted mid table (with one player in the media dream eleven) and half way through the year we are exceeding expectations. Going forward we just look excellent, I feel like we have turned a corner and could be a top 4 team consistently now, which is much quicker than I expected it would be.

image.thumb.png.e7aa7c5c9c55a15c5f5cd7e2e4652dba.png

Cup - Quarter Finals so far

We breezed through the first few rounds, but now have a tough quarter final matchup against PSM, who are just 1 position (by goal difference) below us in the league.

Asian Champions League

We faced another Australian side and were beaten, BUT the good news is it was a very competitive match. We even had the higher XG, although they clearly dominated the possession battle. So back to the Confederations Cup it was.

image.thumb.png.0f0122d54cca70ab5855598af4a42c3a.png

Asian Confederation Cup

We got drawn into a group with a Singaporean, Cambodian and Malaysian side. I was hoping for another table topping run here, but we did struggle more this time around. I am not sure if the teams we were playing were just better, or our squad are worse, the league seems to show we are a better team, so unsure what the problem was here. Bad luck? Johor DT are a very good team though.

Other News

Mentoring

I was finally able to set up mentoring (I hadn't before as my only influential players were legacy players who had balanced personalities). I am hoping this also helps us to improve, get more of the youth to professional (or other good) personalities.
Only two groups as I only have two players who have good personalities and are influential or above.

Transfers

We have been selling quite a few of our more fringe youth players. This helps to keep the bank balance in the positive as well as ensure the squad size is kept to a good size. I haven't posted these before, so just for transparency here they are.

@Winskigood to see you back and hope you and your family are doing well now

I was one of those playing as Inter Bratislava. I had a couple of goes at it and I know @XaWwas there too for a bit, but was a slacker and bailed early as I recall :)

I Managed to get a new stadium, so we moved from the out of town training ground and back into Bratislava. We managed a few league victories but the UCL was tough, really tough.

good luck 👍

This is frustrating, we're the 6th biggest club in Denmark by reputation. At this point, he's got the potential to be world class and we could lose that.

I've found Denmark so hard to manage in, what's your thoughts on the difficulty level?

Arras FA Season Review (42/43): Les Boyaux Rouges

League:

In a season where we beat PSG twice and were leading at the half way point we disappointedly finished 3rd, mainly due to a poor end of the season (only 1 win in the last 8 games!). Nîmes has surfaced as a new super team in the French league, pouring 100's of millions of transfers each season. They finally managed to buy themselves a title! The main difference between us and PSG/Nîmes is that they absolutely batter the smaller team, while we occasionally drop points. Just look at the gap in goal difference!

Last 8 games... not pretty. Only win against PSG is kinda funny :-D.

Cup:

We finally did it! We reached the final of the French cup, where we inevitably faced PSG. We were the better team and should have won in the regular time. Unfortunately, they scored out of their only chance, and we managed to equalize in the 2nd half. We conceded a red card just before Extra Time, which meant all hands on deck to get to penalties. Ibrahima Ngom (intake of 28), oldest player on the squad, missed the first penalty and that was that. PSG didn't miss a single penalty. We lost on penalties 5-4. Another season without silverware.

Europe (why do we bother?)

This competition is not for us. To be honest, we play a mostly heavily rotated squad, as I want to focus on the league first. We only managed 1 win and 2 draws and didn't make it to the play offs again.

The Talent

Giovanni Capurro: GK n1, unambitious personality combined with low determination doesn't spell much good, but we'll give him a shot.

Rajab Sulieman: all the way from that well know football talent factory called Eritrea! He's supposed to be the biggest talent of the intake. He has good stats for a winger, so we'll see how he develops.

Transfers

In the winter mercato I decided to sell Jean-Marc Gérardin (intake of 37) for a measly 17M... Not sure if this was my best decision. According to my coaches he was full to close potential and it looks like previously mentioned Kylian Neff has a higher ceiling, so I decided to let him go,

This guy could be special:

Nicolas Savelli (intake of 37) is my best player, a leading player in the Ligue 1 with 4,5 stars CA. Most importantly: his potential is through the roof. According to my coaches he could still improve significantly! He generally plays as a Segundo Volante of Box to box midfielder. Will he still be here next season, with half of the premier league sniffing around?

Next Season

Existential questions: with the emergence of Nîmes, winning the French league has become even harder. Not to mention, we still seem a decade off from winning the CL... I'm pondering to put this save on hold and try somewhere else... More updates to come soon!

Ah yeah, now I remember it was you and XaW indeed! :)

Hopefully I won't get sacked early, because this is one of those clubs I really want to manage for quite a long time now.

And thanks also. Yes, me and my family are both doing well now, but we had a tough time the last months. I'm happy to be back at playing this beautiful game.

The third and fourth tiers at the beginning have lots of parity, so it's not too difficult to get quick promotions. Although it's complicated by the amateur poaching bug (not sure if this ever got fixed since I was in those leagues before the first patch). Once you make it to the top flight you have to fight relegation for years. I think it took me 4-5 years of narrowly avoiding relegation before we started to push on. Now, I'm stuck trying to win the league since Kobenhavn are pretty dominant. As with many European countries in this challenge, once you get that league title it's easier to take the last step to the Champions League. For reference, the Danish league is the 4th highest league in Europe by coefficients.

Long time lurker, first time poster in this thread. Been playing FM for over 20 years, but the last 5 years only FM Touch on iPad.

Recently I got Braintree from Conference South to Europe in a standard save and I’ve always looked at this challenge as the pinnacle of FM.

FM touch does have limitations so I unofficially started this challenge. Limitation 1 is no way of loading players into the unplayable league you want to select a team from. Limitation 2 - the youth intake size is 4 players per year.

Started as Braintree in FMT20. Conference south, predicted to be in a relegation fight. As close as I can get to the starting requirements and still have players. Also means I keep managing a team I like.

3 seasons to get out of conference south. 3 seasons to get out of conference. So far so good, albeit the squad is terrible and not a single player rated as above Conference south level.

League 2 - survived first season on the final day, then relegated with new record low points total next season.

Anytime a player came through the youth intake that was rated as league 2 or above, the chairman accepted ANY bid for them, despite the club being in a positive bank balance.

I don’t think this is possible on FM touch and I have lost the will to continue haha!

I have gained so much more respect and admiration for every single one of you here for playing the game this way. You are hardcore and I am impressed with the amazing achievements in the 95 pages!

Lyon - La Duchère

Season Summary 2023/2024 (Season 1)

Surprising 1st Season Promotion!

I was surprised by the group of players I inherited and felt like this squad was capable of pushing past the media's prediction but never once did I think we could be promoted it's all thanks to some very important key players who fitted into my tactic.

I feel the whole league was underperforming and we took advantage of that and almost won the league by the last day.

The board was quite generous throughout the season and allowed us to update the youth and training facilities. :applause:

I am very optimistic for next season I'm not too sure of what we can achieve but my goal is to just stay in the league as I feel our youth intake will be exponentially better being in a higher division. ;)

Billericay Town - Sail as one

“We are focussing every single thought on developing the new and not a single one on holding the old.“ Earl of Grey

I tried a possession game and in the pre-season friendlies it went well but those are no contest and in the league we had a horrible start. 9 matches without a victory and most of them lost. I thought my papers were already on the table and I would be sacked. But instead I had league Two clubs chasing me which went well for my ego. I tried hard to turn things around and switched to a direct counter-attacking style and the lads thundered a turnaround with five winnings in a row. We are in the mid-table now with a strong core of a team. I am very proud to have turned things around. The challenge is still huge.

Nonetheless:
The Earl of Grey will go on RL holidays in Italy and France and will continue with the save in July.

Aachen - Germany

Bundesliga - 2041/42

Season Summary

Aachen FC entered the 2041/42 season with high hopes and ambitions of challenging for a Champions League place in the Bundesliga. However, their journey did not go as planned, resulting in their lowest finish in years, securing a disappointing 10th place in the league table. Despite this setback, the season ended on a positive note as they clinched their first-ever European trophy, winning the final of the Europa Conference League against Aberdeen with a resounding 3-0 victory.

The early stages of the Bundesliga were promising for Aachen FC, as they displayed glimpses of their potential. However, they struggled to maintain consistency and faced a series of setbacks, resulting in dropped points. A string of disappointing results in the second half of the season ultimately dashed their hopes of securing a higher league position.

The final seven games of the season were particularly challenging for Aachen FC. The team failed to secure a single victory during this period, leaving fans frustrated and questioning the direction of the club. Injuries to key players, tactical uncertainties, and a lack of confidence seemed to hinder their progress.

However, Aachen FC managed to turn their fortunes around in European competition. Participating in the Europa Conference League, they displayed resilience and determination, reaching the final. In a memorable showdown against Aberdeen, Aachen FC showcased their true potential, dominating the match and securing a convincing 3-0 victory. This triumph marked a historic moment for the club, clinching their first-ever European trophy and providing a silver lining to an otherwise underwhelming season.

While the season may have fallen short of expectations in the Bundesliga, the success in the Europa Conference League final brought a sense of redemption to Aachen FC. The club now faces the challenge of regrouping, learning from their experiences, and aiming for a better league finish in the future. With the right combination of talent, determination, and tactical improvements, Aachen FC will undoubtedly strive to reclaim their former glory and challenge for top honours once again.

Youth

Aachen FC's youth intake this season was relatively average, featuring a mix of promising prospects. While there were two standout talents with elite potential, the overall quality of the intake was somewhat hampered by poor personalities and starting attributes. While these factors can be challenging to overcome, the club's focus will be on providing guidance and development opportunities to shape the players' personalities and improve their initial skill set. With proper nurturing and guidance, the two elite talents can potentially blossom into key contributors for Aachen FC in the future.

Career

As Aachen FC looks ahead to the upcoming season, there are exciting plans to implement a tactical change from a strikerless 4-6-0 formation to a more traditional 4-2-3-1 setup. This shift aims to provide a greater attacking threat and improve the team's overall balance on the pitch. The new formation will see the introduction of a central striker supported by a trio of attacking midfielders, offering more options in the final third.

With this tactical adjustment, Aachen FC aims to rekindle their ambitions for European qualification. After a disappointing finish in the previous season, the team is determined to bounce back and reclaim their position among the top contenders. The revised formation, coupled with the existing talented squad and potential new signings, will provide the framework needed to mount a strong challenge.

European qualification remains a primary objective for Aachen FC, and the team is eager to compete against the continent's finest in prestigious tournaments. The tactical shift, combined with the determination and talent within the squad, sets the stage for an exciting and promising season ahead. With the right blend of tactical acumen, player development, and collective effort, Aachen FC will strive to secure a European spot and create a memorable campaign for the fans to cherish.

Season Summary

Finished just above the relegation spots, a difficult start to the season with players being unsatisfied after 3 games.

Season Details

League Table - Long time near the bottom, then we had a good spell in the middle that saved our season

Transfers In - None

Transfers Out- none yet, but we will lose our best left-back due to the fact he doesn't want to sign a new contract

Youth Candidates -Right winger Boubackar Seck is the best prospect, I think he will be a better right back than right winger

Key Players

Namakoro Diallo - Player of the season, most likely not to be here next season

Scott Kyei - Top scorer, had some cold spells. But by far my most effective attacker this season

David Oberhauser - Tied for the record of most clean sheets in a season in the National

Next Season

Survive and improve from year 1

end of the 23/24 season! we reached the Serie C playoff semifinal where we lost out in extra time to Crotone. we did however win the Coppa Italia Serie C thanks to a massive first leg win over Pro Vicelli.

End of Season Review

Season 2024/25

USBCO

USBCO.thumb.png.40c25af4f0b71107d4e6c38799fd229f.png

Season Summary

Finished just above the relegation spots again, and did slightly better point-wise. Our training facilities did go down this season due to technological advances

Season Details

League Table - Finished 11th, midway through the season we were higher up. But difficult march and april led to a drop

Transfers In - None

Transfers Out- Released a player who wasn't playing and wanted to leave early, to pay less of his wage.

Youth Candidates - Our best candidate this season was Franck Caron. Got a similarly rated player at right back, and a decent cb. Got a new HOYD at the end of the season with a better personality

Fixtures

Key Players

Julien Boyer - Back up last season, stepped up to take the position from Diallo who left on a free

Scott Kyei - Top scorer again, was more consistent this season

Kandet Diawara - Probably our highest rated player, was an efficient scorer this season compared to last with 8

Next Season

Survive and improve from year 1

The preview linked below shows the worst I have had in the save yet the current ability and potential abilities were up from last year so I think the preview was a little off (although the intake was only an average 3 star one). I'm pleased that we still have the majority of the intakes with positive personalities and that the current squad has quite a low negative personality count. I'm hoping having the maxed out coaching and recruitment will start to bear fruit in the next season or two.

Season Review

Spoiler

An historic season for Limavady United in which 4 trophies were lifted including the Danske Bank Premiership.

The season began with the sale of our Model Citizen key player Wily Aguilar (Elite4) to none other than Linfield:
S8_AguilarSold.thumb.png.a96ec9f1d31fc2411017426c73e96c4e.png

S8_TrainingFacilitiesUpgrade.thumb.png.d6faccf5077a3f08b58a0ab2d0331542.png

It's a damn good fee and it let me upgrade my training facilities again as we are losing money so player sales on top of European money is required in order to get upgrades approved. Aguilar (Elite4) went on to win the player and young player of the season.

The key to my success this year seemed to be having a strong second string team and rather than trying to play jaded players (by the end of the season almost the whole team needed a rest after playing one match) was to just rotate and trust the back-ups and I'd say it worked out really well in the end. In total we played 62 games this season and thats without making the group stages in Europe so if we do make the group stages I'm most likely going to have to throw some of the cup games as that sort of scheduling will be unsustainable.

In terms of the goalscorers this year we had:

  • Geneste (Elite5) - 47 in 37 (13)
  • Bell (Elite6) - 37 in 42 (3)
  • Telford (Elite7) - 22 in 27 (15)
  • Curran (Elite7) - 16 in 16 (11)

The highest non-striker goalscorer this year was Callum Martin (Elite6) with 4 so you can see how the 4-4-2 formation is focused on getting the ball into the two strikers and letting them do what they do best. I have no plans to change the formation at the moment although at one point I did play a 3-4-3 in the SPFL Trust Trophy Final as my fullbacks were exhausted or injured so I'm likely to keep that as an alternative formation.

One of the highlights this year was getting Geneste (Elite5) to not only talk but I managed to get him to agree to a new contract after many rounds of negotiating with his agent, in addition Callum Martin (Elite6) also agreed to a new deal but wasn't quite as difficult to convince:
S8_GenesteNewContract.png.2afdd7fcf0c4084b718f7b427d08b3f3.png

S8_MartinNewContract.png.9d4e4950ea75c9af0c269fc9ff040095.png

The board still won't entertain the idea of becoming a professional side which still seems to stem from the projections and not taking into account any money from Europe (it's obviously not a given we will qualify for Europe every year). So little semi-pro Limivady will roll up into the Champions League qualifiers next season

We are still awaiting the first International Cap of the save but Geneste (Elite5) is getting close as he's been named 3 times now in the National Squad and if he keeps up his scoring record (150 goals in 156 appearances) and improving as he has been then I think he should get a cap this year or next.

Next Season Aims

Spoiler
  • See if we can make the Europa Conference League after dropping out of Champions League and Europa League qualifiers (I'm not going to set any expectations for those competitions as it's never going to happen at this stage)
  • Try to win the title again and sacrifice the domestic cups if need be
  • Try to retain the squad as it is

Otahuhu United AFC: 2032 Season Review

A disappointing follow up season as we fail to reach the grand final despite crusing to our sub-division title. We now come back after pre-season and dive straight into the OFC Champion's League.

The next update will be a Champion's League only update due to the timing of competitions.

Player stats were very good and only dipped during a 3 game slump during the championship stage.

Youth intake previewed with grade C across the board and it turned out to be spot on. Nothing to shout home about.

Pfffff.....we just can't win anymore :( It's so difficult, to have a squad with only 12 players. The first half of the season was good, we won a couple of matches. But take a look at this. We won a match in October, and one match in March... and lost almost all the others.

And check  the league table, with only 3 matches left to play. Just two points difference between me, the current nr. 11, and the last place. With our current form, I don't think we will stay up....

I know exactly what you are talking about. I have the same in VNS England, it’s frustrating. In previous saves I just reloaded, in this save I hang on and punch it through, first time. It’s very rewarding. Hang on dude and try to gather a win somehow and a draw and your through! Everyone behind the ball and your best player up front. You still can do it!

Okay, that was it. A very short spell at Inter Bratislava. Potentially a very nice club, but the challenge was just too difficult. We were relegated on final day, after losing our last match at home 0-4 against the nr. 2 of the league.

Back to the drawing table...

My Malaysian Uni save got rolled back a few months after a crash and I lost my interest. So now I'm back for another grind, this time in the Faroe Isles. MB was the worst rated out of 2 options, so here we go!

Brønshøj BK - Youth Intake Season 19

Our newfound links with teams from Japan, Australia, and Slovakia have yet to pay dividends, but we did get a couple Brazilians out of nowhere. The manager is Brazilian, but this is the first time in the save that has made an impact, too bad they aren't very good. Speaking of the intake, we're at the point where we'd rather have one guy and nobody else as long as that one guy has high potential. The question is whether this 5* means the level of Banza 13a (backup for us) or Hjulmand 11a (starter for Man City).

OBTqds.jpg

Fisker 19a looks promising so long as the potential holds up.

Jorgensen 19b is the next up in our trend of producing short attacking midfielders. He's half a foot shorter than Messi...

Okay, that was it. A very short spell at Inter Bratislava. Potentially a very nice club, but the challenge was just too difficult. We were relegated on final day, after losing our last match at home 0-4 against the nr. 2 of the league.

You fought bravely I‘m sure

I'm putting my Arras save on a hold for a while and I'm moving to the Middle East.

I'm taking over Oghab Tehran out of Iran who got promoted to the Iranian Second Division (3rd tier). Expectations are high, as the board expects us to achieve a top 2 finish and our fans wants us to see promoted to the First Division.

Some of those players coming through now Libby - Meier - ooft!! Exciting few years ahead if you can keep that team together.

Meier is insane. I don't think I've ever been as excited about a youth player! his first season is turning into something special as well - and he's still only 16!

After 2 tries it became obvious that MB's squad was never going to be able to stay up in the first season. So I reloaded again and went with Royn this time and it sticks. So:

A tight table meant we were just 2 points off relegation with 2 games to go, and 6 points in those propelled us to 4th place.

Not a lot of rotation as our starting eleven worked well.

Magnussen is our star player, but he has been unhappy for months after a harsh team talk. I hate how this is going to make me lose him, as his contract is running out.

Our midfield is nice and stable with Poulsen as a driving force. He and Gillason are a good and dynamic duo.

Syderbo is a classic finisher. Lacks a lot in other areas but 22 goals show that he doesn't need those qualities.

Like always the first intake looks great.

Steingrimsson will probably go right into the first team, as will David Wiberg with his set piece skills.

Joan Wiberg is rated highly but has a lot to learn.

I can see the image and you have set your manager up correctly with low rep and experience. Good luck 👍
