  1. some people do that when there is nothing to play for anymore during the season so the game goes faster
  2. Football manager can be funny sometimes. last season I got promoted with my team and we turned semi pro. I struggled to say up but I survived at the end after a change of formation towards the end of the season. Fast forward to the new season and I only replaced the GK and we are top of the league with the same players I had last season minus the GK
  3. Enjoy it until you get to January and it starts to go downhill
  4. I think it's a know issue. It happens when you skip the the cutscene before the song is finished
  5. I've not checked but it's probably CD keys. They are usually the cheapest
  6. It doesn't matter if it's a know issue or not, I'd still report it as a bug if I think it's not working how it should. It's up to someone from SI to to flag it as a know issue or whatever they decide to do it
  7. try closing steam and opening it again, if that doesn't work check the size of the save file and see if you still have cloud storage left
  8. you can start a save and load in all players then add another manager as unemployed. Once you do that, you can go to player search then create a view to show whatever data you're trying to extract; select all players and scroll to the bottom of the page to make sure all the players are highlighted then click on the FM logo and towards the bottom of the option you will see "print screen", click on that and save it as a web page then you can upload it on excel and do whatever you want with it
  9. That's a fair point. I think the problem is that SI don't see themselves as a traditional gaming company (they have not said this it's just my opinion) and because of that even their marketing and promotion of the game is weird. You'll hear people saying that your typically FM player is not a traditional gamer and they just play football manager and although it could be true, SI need to look at what other companies are doing right and try to implement them
  10. That’s a terrible idea in my opinion because they’re going to please everyone. Let’s say for example they talked about what they were working on and improving defensive phase wasn’t one of them, what would you do? Everyone already knows the first patch comes late February and the final update around mid March
  11. I'm assuming that you are playing with one striker and the problem is that he gets isolated because he gets crowded by the 3 defenders. What I normally do is that I change my striker role to a role that drops deep then I will push my midfielders to be more aggressive then I go wide to use more of the pitch and hopefully force the wingbacks to push out wide so my striker and midfielders have more space in the middle. I will also switch to direct passing and lower the tempo to try and move the opposition from side to side. Another option is to leave them to come out then play on the counter but you have to use opposition instructions to try and make sure you stop the wingbacks from crossing the ball
  12. I think the old way was far better to understand, the way they did it now is just so unnecessary and confusing. I don't even pay attention to it
  13. the scouting isn't finished that's why it's greyed out. Go to scouting priorities and stop the scouting of players you're not interested in
  14. Yes. A Haalandnd type striker will sore lots of goals and if you have defenders that are very good in the air and fast you will do really well
  15. If you're playing in lower division then it will happen both players and keepers hoof the ball for no reason even when they are not under pressure
  16. During pre-season I don’t play any games during the first week, I just go very heavy on endurance resistance with some quickness. If the pre-season is long then I’ll do that for 2 weeks before I start playing friendly games
  17. I know attributes are very important in the game but I which the effect was more pronounced. It shouldn't be enough to just build a team of just fast players to dominate. My slow centerback with very good positioning, anticipation, concentration and decision shouldn't get beat 90% of the time just because they lack acceleration. There elite footballs that have no pace and do very well against players that are way faster than them for example players like Tiago Silver, Chiellini, Bonucci etc these are elite defenders that you don't see get beat often even by elite strikers that are very fast because they read the game very well
  18. To add to that, it doesn't only depend on you winning and doing well. Other teams in your league have to do well in Europe too so you have a better chance
  19. go to staff responsibility and in the dropdown menu go to training and untick where it says "receive training email"
  20. you can filter it out in the inbox. Go to the inbox and on the right hand side there is like a menu with an arrow facing down, click on it and on the bottom you will find filters. From there you can remove what you don't want
  21. even on defend duty he will still go up as a wingback but he will only do it when your team has control of the ball in the final third. If you don't want him to move then fullback on defend should do the job
  22. In lower leagues it’s almost impossible because of the amount of free transfers that are available and every team is poor. Try loaning the player out with the team paying at least some of his wages if not all
