XaW
I think my tactic is working fine in Germany too! 8-0 against a rival in the 5th match of the season! Sure, we are slightly overscoring the xG!
Winski
On 13/03/2024 at 12:51, Winski said: Wieczysta Kraków Well, another new save for me. But I couldn't resist it. I enjoyed my save with IFK Malmö, and will probably continue if I'll fail with this one. But I came across this club, and really wanted to try a save with it. First of all: I love managing in Poland. I had a great save in FM22 with Garbarnia Krakow. So I always wanted to come back at some point. On Twitter/X I came across a blogpost from Fuller_FM. He wrote a fantastic prologue about this club, and the start of his save. And I was completely intrigued by the story of this club. I'll quote the story about this club from the blogpost of Chris Fuller_FM: So, the most interesting part for me is about the owner of the club: Wojciech Kwiecien. A rich businessman who puts a lot of money in the club. I immidiately checked the club in Football Manager, and saw that the club has lots of money, for such a small club. So that was what triggered me to try a save with this club. I had to holiday for two seasons to get them promoted to Fortuna 1. Liga. I had to reload many, many times. First to get them promoted to Tier 3, and then lots of times to get them promoted to Tier 2. So I was very happy that the club finally popped up. So here we are! Back in Poland, and also back in Krakow. A funny thing is: I follow Garbarnia Krakow in real life on their socials, because of my save with them a couple of years ago. And last weekend both clubs played against eachother. Wieczysta won the match with 4-0. I saw the result on Twitter/X, and checked the table to see that Wieczysta is topping the table. At that moment I didn't know that I was starting a save with the club, just a couple of days later. I love the club colours: yellow and black. I made some fantasy kits, based on their club colours in FM. The squad is a bit old, but there are some very good players. Jacek Góralski, Michał Trąbka, Christoph Knasmüllner and Simeon Slavchev for example. The Finances are very healthy at the start of the save. So, let the good times roll! Well, this was not what I expected. I became champion of the Fortuna 1. Liga(Tier 2), but almost every player at the club was unhappy. Most of them because they want to play at a higher level. And they are all leaving the club in the summer, because they are not willing to sign a new deal. Also not after we became champions. Then some others are just too old, and their attributes are declining fast. If I was continuing this save, I had to promote almost every youngster from our first intake to the first squad. But the intake was terrible, with lots of crap players. So unfortunately I quit with this save. I just really like the idea of this club (the owner was throwing money at us for fun!), but a squad full of 15 and 16 year old kids, on the highest level of Poland...that's not gonna work. Maybe I'll continue this save, but then as a 'normal save', and not a Youth Only. I'm now back at IFK Malmö, but I'm also looking for a new adventure somewhere else.
Riebow
Olot UE Season Review (42/43) League: Our reign in Spain has ended! To be honest, there was just no competing with Real this season. They went undefeated and only lost their first point after 23 games. We actually had a very good season, finishing with 5 more points than last season, when we won the league. We're lucky to have taken advantage of some down years of the big two to steal away some titles. Spoiler Copa Or the one where our midfielder played a shocking pass backwards to our goal keeper, only to have it intercepted and for Barcelona to score the winning goal... in the 89th minute. Perhaps the most devastating loss I've ever encountered while playing FM. Spoiler Europe Again a decent run, where we knocked out two fellow compatriots in Vigo and Valencia. Man Utd was just a bit too strong. Spoiler Super Cup yes, this also happened Spoiler Youth Intake A great preview, the intake as well looked decent. We'll revert back in 5 years Spoiler NXGN Well, no winner this season. Three players made the list though Armand(DLC; Resolute) The big prospect of the intake two seasons ago. Already looks very good, and has played some games this season. Unfortunately the next season the best prospect was another left back and could be even better. Spoiler Desko Vlasblom(MC/AMRC; Resolute) Away at our affiliate ADO Den Haag, he's developing nicely. Probably still a year away to make it to the first team Spoiler Noah Bruneel(AML/STC; Fairly Sporting) It took some time, but a season on loan at Beerschot saw some nice development. I'll probably let him roast there for another season. Spoiler Best XI Our defense remains our achilles heel, especially at center back. Antoni Juvanteny is the only quality player at the position. Wing back was an issue for a very long time, but we have some excited prospects (especially on the left) which could turn the position into a strength. We rotate a lot in midfield; the big surprise there was Alfred Vazquez: it's his first season in the first team, spending some seasons away on loan. He was initially meant to be a squad player, but he ended up with whopping 7.37 average rating, 17 goals and 6 assists! It's things like this which makes the save so much fun. Speaking of surprises, 'old' Robert Pujadas (he's 28) had a great season, scoring 20 goals across all competions; He's now leading in appearances (395) and is two goals away for being the all time goal scorer (although he has competition from Jose Manuel). What a legend. Spoiler 5 years ago... This was actually a decent intake with quite some players who became decent squad players. I've ended up signing all 16 of them. - Joan Raimon Rodriguez Vazquez: has a long name, but also won the NXGN last season. He's a decent rotation player on the right wing - Andreu Saitor: I was so excited when he came through, finally a center back with high potential and a good personality. Alas the position is cursed, he has barely improved since. - Eloi Pujol: might just not be good enough. There's to much competition up front - Aldo Catalano: Still at the club technically, but always out on loan. Could be a decent player for a bottom of the league team, but not for us - Alfred Vazquez: as mentioned above, an amazing first season in the first team. A player who is vastly overachieving his attributes - Mathijs Smit: a very good looking play maker, who I really need to give some more playing time. Might overtake Jan Porte as the backup RPM - Are still at the team and have a chance: Juarry Ricciuli and Giel Verschuere (as our 3rd GK) Spoiler Next Season: It will probably take a couple more seasons before we can properly compete with the English teams in the Champions League. We definitely have plenty of talent up front, but lack talent at the back. To be honest, while are squad is very good, we don't have any world class players like Real or Barça has. Hopefully this will change in the coming seasons. Vamos! Edited March 19 by Riebow
sinns77
First attempt, I have chosen Ockero IF, Here for the long haul. This will be a graft. Any suggestions with mentoring tips would be appreciated. I feel like its going to be needed to really push our youngsters to their maximum. Our tactic is below its my first attempt so this may be tweaked during the season if needed.
libbyshuss
Lyra Lierse - Belgium 2047/48 Pro Jupiler League - 1st Croky Cup - 8th Round Europa League - Quarter Final A really good season for us. Only 4 defeats in the league meant we breezed to the title. Even though one of those defeats was 6-0 to Standard. Ah well Europa League was fun, even though we fell to Toulouse in a quarter final tie we should have been able to win Youth Doesn't look like a save changing intake this one. Wonderkids We got another two proper ones! Thing is, i'm now so lopsided as they are all midfielders/attackers. my defence is so much weaker! Where are they now? Let's look at the 2043 intake! Just how good was it? 6 elite talents! But just how good were they? Sam Vermeulen - A proper wonderkid! My first choice left winger, valued around £40m, star pro jupiler player. 16 goals and 22 assists last season. He's great! Noah Pankert - second choice keeper but developing really nicely. Plays in cups, rated good pro jupiler with still plenty of room to improve Ryan Driesen - Poor in the end Sold for 160k, and i was lucky to get it! Mohamed Zaim - yeah, terrible, awful, now half a star potential, rotting in the U21s Roan Kramer - not good, sold for 200k, now valued much lower Sam Maes - another poor result. sold to Montpellier for 150k, doing poorly there Vermeulen and Pankert make it a fantastic intake though! Finance I'm now at the stage where I don't need to sell anyone to make any money. Which is helped by things like this:- Given how relatively poor my defence is right now, I could really do with him back in the side! glennuk
Glad to have you on board @sinns77 - My only thought on the tactic is I am not sure who will link up with your strikers here. It seems all four of your midfielders are pretty defensive (not saying it won't work, but may be worth having at least one of the CMs or wingers more attacking to link up with the top two). Also I posted this just the other day (a long read), but this helped me a lot when looking at personalities, mentoring and what is ultimately important in developing youngsters If anyone is interested I found it here - https://fmstats.com/2022-03-14-ambition-determination-professionalism/ Interesting read and I'd assume it still applies. Here is the graph I was most interested in too Edited March 20 by glennuk
glennuk
Rein Meer AKA ReinBerg - Season 18 - Japan J1 League - End of Season Review & Youth Intake League - 20th RELEGATED!! Embarrassing!!! We had 22 points after 19 games and were looking pretty in 14th and then we just were plain BAD!!! Only picking up 11 points in our next 19 games. We just let in far too many goals! The Squad Not much to say. None of my first team had an average rating above 7.0. No one stood out as being ready for J1. Our defenders were pretty poor, as were our Goalkeepers. Good News? The one bit of good news is the extra TV money should set us up nicely for the next few years. Youth Intake We had another pretty good intake overall. With a couple of promising defenders, and two interesting looking wingers. We even have an Englishman in the intake, which is rare! Signed all tagged Top 3 - Youth Intake 18 Daisuke Kobayashi (YP18A) A left footed CB with bags of potential and a mixture of good tackling and heading is something we are crying out for. Many of our defenders have decent tackling, but can't jump (which Daisuke can't) or head the ball. Hopeful that the Balanced personality can be improved and we can see a rapid increase in his middle of the road physicals soon. Seiya Wada (YP18B) We need competition on the wings and this quick winger with decent crossing and dribbling could be just what we need. He will most likely get some games next year as a sub, as we really don't have many options on the wings. Phil Cowley (YP18C) I may be a bit biased here, I just love the fact we have someone who isn't Japanese in the squad, as I miss the more diverse intakes from my European attempts (Germany and England). His physicals are already pretty good and his Fairly Professional personality is promising. I also appreciate his ability to play in multiple positions. Hopefully that will come in handy. A BUNCH of Departures We said goodbye to our best CB ( Satoru Hashimoto (YP11D)), our 2nd best winger (who could play either side) (Takumi Yoshida (YP13F) ) and our 2nd best LB (Yositaka Ogawa (YP16C)). Mostly as they were unsettled and wanted to leave. I also know for the long term good I need to improve my facilities and this funded a 3.7million upgrade to my training facilities. Training Facilities Upgrade = Excellent Season Preview So looking ahead it seems as if the bookies think we are more likely to get relegated than go straight back up. Let's prove them wrong!! SkiIIs
Upon deciding which country I would attempt first, I had to go with England with unfinished business from FM23 where we managed to make the Premier League with South Shields before eventually getting relegated and sacked. Ive decided to go with Macclesfield FC who are the pheonix club of the former Macclesfield Town FC who were founded in 1874 but were wound up in 2020. They have since been promoted 3 years running to make the VNL North. The team was ok however bit of a brain fade by not renewing the contracts of the fringe players has left me pretty short. Looking forward to the youth intake to bolster the squad a bit. This is me and the start up:

Sdp9511
End-of-Season Review Season 2034/35 Le Puy Season Summary- It was another mid-table season for us, after a poor start, we were slowly able to gather some moments which led us to our final position of 9th. Near the end of the season, we had an opportunity to make a late comeback into the fight for the promotion playoff places. But we ended up not making the most of those fixtures. In the cup, we tied our best performance to date losing in the quarterfinals of the cup to eventual winners AS Monaco. Thanks to our largest sale to date, we improved the training facility back to average after a decrease in the quality last year. Our biggest issue currently has been that due to us having the same main kit sponsor for the last 7 years our sponsorship money hasn't been able to keep up with our expenditures. We currently make a loss every year (without selling any players), which means that for the last few seasons, we have been unable to improve any of our facilities. Season Details Transfers- Besides loaning out a few fringe players, there were 3 important transfers/loans. First of we loaned out 2 players who could potentially fight for first-team places next season. We loaned goalkeeper Kevin Labonne to Cercle Brugge, where he won the Belgian second division. He could become our start next season, as our current goalkeeper is getting older. We also loaned out our 3rd striker to French National champions Grenoble. He scored 13 goals in 34 games and had an average rating of 7.23. He will bring some serious competition to our starting striker next season. Lastly, we broke our transfer fee received record, when Rudy Lenormand 8A (another CDM) was sold to RSC Anderlecht for 4.7 million (can go up to 6 million). While I was hoping to wait for a higher transfer offer to come, the board felt that this offer was to good not to accept. Youth Candidates- This youth intake was slightly better than last year's intake, but not by much. We are desperate to get a youth intake with a quality midfielder as that is the position where I most need a new quality youngster. Instead, we got even more wingers/strikers. While we are already bloated in those positions, I do believe that the best youngster from this youth intake is Clinton Nkem. Will be a top-quality striker or winger (thinking about moving him to my right wing, as we have quite a few strikers and left-wingers). He currently already is one of my best wingers at age 15. Key Players POTS- Andreas Kruger was once again my POTS, YPOTS, and top scorer. With 19 goals and 6 assists, he was the 3rd best scorer in the league. He currently is one goal away from becoming the first player to score 100 league goals for Le Puy. Even though his numbers are identical to last season, I feel that this season he was more consistent and didn't score as much in patches compared to last season. Top Assister- Ousmane Tine was yet again my top assister this season, with 12 assists and 2 goals. He mostly played from the left-hand side. He wasn't as good as last season, as he massively underperformed his XG. But he was still a vital part of this season's mid-table finish Best new youngster- There was only one option this season for the best youngster from last season's intake. Faris Jaballah ended up playing 19 games this season and doing pretty well. With how he played this season, I have no doubt he will be part of this squad in the long term. mehesa
Békéscsabai Előre FC - 1st Season I complained a lot earlier in this thread when the save was in December 2024, but after that I have made some tactical changes (started the season with a 4-2-4 wing play, but now using two different types of 4-3-3) and produced a fantastic season finish. We started the calendar year 2025 at the 12th place and finished at 3rd with only 2 points behind the 2nd promotion place. In the last round we still had chance to achieve promotion, and won our match, but Honvéd won as well so they remained on 2nd place. This is a great overachievement, since the board wanted us to reach a mid-table finish. However, I have to admit that it was my responsibility making the tactical changes too late in the season... maybe the team would be able to gain promotion to Division I in the first season. In the cup we made it to the Fifth Round with an easy and a penalty-shootout win, but were unlucky in the last 16. Spoiler Our key players were the midfielder Máté Tóth with 7.10 rating, 7 goals and 5 assists and the striker Roland Vólent with 7.02 rating, 11 goals (top scorer) and 5 assists. But most importantly I really liked how our first youth players joined to the team: centerback Róbert Lakatos (Y25_04) played only the last match of the season as a sub, but was outstanding (7.2) the position DL was our weakness in the whole season and Szilárd Koronczai (Y25_08) debuted early due to injuries without causing any problems (2 match as a sub, 6.80 rating) but my best surprise was the left winger Ábel Benjámin Mag (Y25_06) who played on our 6 last games, 4 times as starter: he was rated 6.77, provided an assist and we won all of those matches Spoiler During the season we had only outgoing transfers. The board was not really happy with those, although we managed to make some money with the sellings, and the locker room atmosphere is now better without these players. Spoiler Our first youth intake seemed to be not so great in the preview. But the actual intake was not totally crap: no elite though, but we have a top talent GK and 6 good talent infield players as well. It was not so lucky though, since the GK position was not the one with the greatest needs. Spoiler This is my only top talent: My favorite player from the intake so far: the winger who played the most matches in senior squad so far The DL who was really welcome due to lacking position depth: And the DC who also was able to debut in the senior squad The board was pretty annoying in the first part of the season: they did not accept a single one of my requests, but after the winter break they became more flexible. They offered me a new one-year contract for the next season. Also they agreed to upgrade both youth and training facilities: there are ongoing works on the Youth facilities which I believe will be finished in the summer, and the upgrade of the training facilities is scheduled to be finished in October 2025. And I finally could start my studies on National C License. But up-to-date there are no changes in the facilities. Spoiler Our finances are better than last season, mostly due to the low usage of the wage budget and the sold players. Hopefully that means that the board will be pleased to spend money on upgrades next season. The squad believed to be weaker compared to last season, because the board expects us to avoid relegation, but I am confident that the remaining players together with the youngsters will cause nice surpises...
Koetzer
Livorno | Season 2024/25 | Serie C/B A good debut season, we secured a solid mid-table place from the start and finished in the playoffs zone (a totally mad system here with six rounds, so hard to hope for promotion if you don't win the group). Coppa Serie С Only two highest tiers play in the real cup in Italy, no idea what we could get from this one. Squad stats Giordani was our best goalscorer and assistant, but surprisingly not the highest rated player – Bertolini seems to fit perfectly for a carrilero role. Two players are retiring after this season, Luci’s decision was expected at his age, but Cesarini certainly could be a useful player for at least a year. Transfers – these two players on loan will replace retiring veterans in the first team squad next season. Youth intake (preview) Pedaggi *25a | Amelio *25b | Barletta *25c | Kané *25d | Castelli *25e Good intake in stars, but only Amelio has decent physical attributes here. It's nice to see that there is hope for Előre (Champions League participation within 8 years), because this first season feels extremely hard... We started really good, with a 5 match unbeaten run, we were top3, but after that the team started to struggle: We can't have a good run of results Injuries, injuries and injuries... The originated players continuously complain about training One of my better centerbacks wants to leave and poisons the locker-room atmosphere, because I could not sell him yet (maybe he can leave in the winter break, finally there are some interests for him from Serbia) I will be happy to have him leave, but I am afraid there won't be real depth in the season finish One of my better strikers complains that he wants to play as Poacher (which I think is one of the worst roles for a striker) -> another blow to the locker room atmosphere Now, we slipped to the 10th position in Division II (actually it is kinda real, because the original expectation was mid-table) In our last 9 matches we could not win (4 draws and 5 losses) And despite we are in good financial form, the board keeps rejecting my requests: no facility, junior coaching or recruitment upgrades, and they do not allow me to take a single coaching course And now I received the youth intake preview which prognosed to be a crap... Reveal hidden contents Please tell me that you faced similar issues in your first season and still became regular participant in the Champions Leage 5-7 years later Apart from a major ups and downs, the first season went well for me, so I didn't have any particular problems with the atmosphere in the dressing room, but if there was a problem, I constantly tried to praise the training work of the players every week and I also used the praise conduct whenever possible, this kind of praise is always accepted by the players, this is how I tried to maintain a good mood because at first it is not always easy until you have the right reputation and relationship with the players. The best way to get very good morale is always to win the matches Unfortunately, injuries are always a problem and it will only become more and more difficult when you have to stand up on more and more fronts. I got out of this as well, but I used a lot of rest and I don't leave the control of the training to the assistant manager, who would put in three endurance sessions immediately after a double gameweek, but I constantly adjusted the training plan in such a way that injuries could be avoided as best as possible, pay attention which players have injury prone and recurring injuries and not to overload them, but unfortunately this is often a bit random. From time to time it happened that some players were not completely satisfied with the role they played, but since the team was doing well, I didn't have any major problems. I am surprised that you have problems with the board because in my save it is one of the best boards I have ever worked with, already in the first season they allowed several coaching courses and several facilities upgrades. I'm not 100% sure what the reason for this could be, that it's different for you, but I think that as you deliver the results, they will allow more and more, and I don't know if it matters that if I see it correctly, your starting determination is 1, mine was 5 at the start. I don't know if it matters that much, but my application was not accepted at first either, but the insistence was successful many times. I hope I was able to help and don't give up! The beginning of these saves is quite often suffering, but the success is all the sweeter later

But most importantly I really liked how our first youth players joined to the team: centerback Róbert Lakatos (Y25_04) played only the last match of the season as a sub, but was outstanding (7.2) the position DL was our weakness in the whole season and Szilárd Koronczai (Y25_08) debuted early due to injuries without causing any problems (2 match as a sub, 6.80 rating) but my best surprise was the left winger Ábel Benjámin Mag (Y25_06) who played on our 6 last games, 4 times as starter: he was rated 6.77, provided an assist and we won all of those matches Reveal hidden contents During the season we had only outgoing transfers. The board was not really happy with those, although we managed to make some money with the sellings, and the locker room atmosphere is now better without these players. Reveal hidden contents Our first youth intake seemed to be not so great in the preview. But the actual intake was not totally crap: no elite though, but we have a top talent GK and 6 good talent infield players as well. It was not so lucky though, since the GK position was not the one with the greatest needs. Reveal hidden contents This is my only top talent: My favorite player from the intake so far: the winger who played the most matches in senior squad so far The DL who was really welcome due to lacking position depth: And the DC who also was able to debut in the senior squad The board was pretty annoying in the first part of the season: they did not accept a single one of my requests, but after the winter break they became more flexible. Reveal hidden contents Our finances are better than last season, mostly due to the low usage of the wage budget and the sold players. Hopefully that means that the board will be pleased to spend money on upgrades next season. The squad believed to be weaker compared to last season, because the board expects us to avoid relegation, but I am confident that the remaining players together with the youngsters will cause nice surpises... I decided to try attempt and complete the Ultimate challenge first but find myself back here Well I thought Japan would be easier than England, but for some reason it has been just as hard I think I also picked a club in an unpopulated area of Japan, where our attendance has been amongst the lowest in the league (J2 or J1) despite doing reasonably well. After almost 20 seasons we still only sell 3000 season tickets :o Playing the long game and trying (across different versions of FM) to get a YAC win in each continent!!

glennuk
Rein Meer AKA ReinBerg - Season 19 - Japan J2 League - End of Season Review & Youth Intake League - 3rd We didn't take the league by storm, but we also showed that we are too good for the J2 League. Playoff Semi We were for once the recipient of good fortune on the Japanese League Rules, and as the higher seed we go through despite drawing 3-3. It was a strange match, with us having most of the possession and looking comfortable until the 69th minute, which is just about where I went defensive and moved from a 4-4-2 to a 4-1-4-1. The last few minutes were definitely nervy, but knowing that we would go on to the final with a draw I was never TOO panicked. Playoff Final Again a bit of a strange match, but this time the opposite. We went down early, but fought back pretty well. When we went up 3-2 we moved to our more defensive 4-1-4-1 and held out until the end despite being peppered with a bunch of late shots. We are GOING UP!! The Squad We kept a very similar lineup to the team that got relegated last season. The main exception being the excellent Naoki Tsujimoto (YP15B) coming in at CB and having a great season and quickly improving to become my best CB within the space of the last 9 months. Masami Asano (YP11B) and Masafumi Nagata (YP13B) got 19 and 20 goals respectively. They have formed a good partnership, with Asano being the big (6 Foot 4!) tall poacher and Nagata being the hard working advanced forward. Finances We did spend a massive 3.7million on our training facilities upgrade, which is a huge part of our almost 4million loss this season. I am not worried though, as getting back up to the J1 league should fix that very quickly. Other News We also have increased our reputation to 2.5 stars, which is very nice to see indeed.
glennuk
Youth Intake - Season 19 Youth Preview We got a rather mediocre preview, but I am glad to see a glut of midfielders again, as we are still needing to improve that area the most. Youth Intake More than mediocre for SURE!! What a great intake. It has been a while since I have had 7 Elite Talents in the intake. Our South Korean HOYD finally brought us in a South Korean player too A varied mix of personalities in there too, not always the best personalities on the best players however. Top 3 - Youth Intake 19 Daisuke Shinoto (YP19A) A decent looking young winger, which is a position we are relatively thin on. A great personality in Resilient (and one I don't see too often). His technicals are actually pretty good to start with, however I do want to see some big improvements in his physicals, especially his pace and acceleration as I always prefer a quick winger. Has a way to go, but can definitely become a first team player in the future. Yoshihiko Ichimura (YP19B) A mercenary personality, which may see him not stay with us for the longest amount of time, but perhaps that is something we can train out of him. A little unsure about whether I am going to re-train him as a RB or as a RW. There is nothing especially impressive in his current attributes, but overall he looks like he has the chance to make something of himself. Yuki Ishida (YP19C) A very aggressive and brave youngster, with pretty good mental attributes. I also love the 15 tackling, however I often have these short CBs come through, which is always a bit of a worry. He can definitely make the first team as a rotation player, but has a way to go before he looks a sure fire starter.
mehesa
18 hours ago, ajancsiii said: Apart from a major ups and downs, the first season went well for me, so I didn't have any particular problems with the atmosphere in the dressing room, but if there was a problem, I constantly tried to praise the training work of the players every week and I also used the praise conduct whenever possible, this kind of praise is always accepted by the players, this is how I tried to maintain a good mood because at first it is not always easy until you have the right reputation and relationship with the players. The beginning of these saves is quite often suffering, but the success is all the sweeter later Thanks for the advises! And no, I am not going to give up. Just started the new season, and after the first two unlucky matches I am on track with 10 points from 5 matches. Despite low board expectations and season preview (prognosed 15th place from 16 and 151.00 odds) I am starting to believe that instead of avoiding relegation, we can be there in the race for promotion places. The youngsters are not really bad, I am able to use regularly 5-6 of them in the squad, 1-2 as starters (it is also helping me that in Division II there is a rule that I always have to put at least 1 U20 player on the pitch). Yes, the board discussions would be more effective with better determination, but I have chosen the 'Working with Youngsters' and 'Youngster Knowledge' attributes at start. However, my Determination started to grow in the first season, now it is 4. And of course: Congratulations for the unbeaten season and for the first NXGN wonderkid! Cardiovascular
Enfield Town - 2028/29 A much, much improved campaign sees us sitting pretty in 10th by the end of the season. With that said, we tore the script up in the first 20 games as we sat top of the heap but we faded away into midtable obscurity after that. Unsure if we just got lucky, because we had some terrible matches in the second half of the season against the relegation sides. Still, nice to have a season not concerned about relegation! Long may it continue. Key Players Spoiler Oliver Knight's the only man averaging over 7.00 but he was perhaps helped by playing less games than most due to injury and the emergence of Jack Howard in his position (who would score ten this year.) Wyllie was our top scorer again, and Karlsson chipped in with his share. The Swede is currently our main man up front, but he does miss some amount of sitters. Not sold on him being cut out for the lone striker role if I'm truthful. Youth Intake Spoiler Dan Minton is a real tidy looking player. We played with DM's instead of MC's, where he's not quite as good, but he could also slot in and do a job at left back, so we have options with him. Peszmeg is another good RB option we have - Gutzmore from last year's intake made this slot his own this year though, so he may have to wait for a chance. Richard Richardson is a funny named, but also pacy winger. Good back up for Luca Williams. Our U18s had an invincible season in their league, finishing top and 15 points clear of second. Great to see.

The team is quite good, and it also fits very well into my tactic. Really enjoyed this season, and we crowned it with the title! SkiIIs
Season 2024/45 - VNL North I inherited a pretty decent squad for this level which is no surprise as to why they were promoted the year before which includes Wayne Rooney's younger brother John. My personal objective for the year was to solidify our position in the league and hopefully look to utilise the financial strength of over 1k season ticket holders to improve the club. After the first 4 games and 4 wins later, that objective quickly changed to push for a bit more. By the midpoint of the year we found ourselves atop of the table but that was only for a short spell. However, we did maintain our good form and remained in the top 4 for the remainder of the season. We won our last two games and Blyth Spartans draw and lost which meant we claimed second spot and would play Chester at home in the play off semi final. In a game we truly deserved to win and under performed our xG, we had to wait until the 79th minute for our goal to come from our 13th corner. This meant we would face Blyth Spartans at home in a one of final to see who would be promoted to the VNL. We raced to a 3 - 0 lead which included 2 penalties well converted by former Blackburn youth prospect Alex Curran. He then missed chance for a hattrick from the spot again with 17 minutes left which then led to an almighty change to the game. Blyth scored 2 in 3 minutes and with 10 minutes left gave us a real scare! I went all defensive mode and we were able to hang on to win promotion! Not much to write about in the cups, knocked out in the 3rd qualifying round to a non league team in the FA Cup and knocked out of the FA Trophy by Stourbridge who were eventually relegated from the same league. Off the field we made decent progress as well. Financially we are very viable and can afford to invest. On coaching courses, the board are quite happy to develop my coaches, but i had to scratch tooth and nail to get my National C licence but am yet to get the green light for a B licence. The board did tho approve improvements to Junior Coaching, an update to training facilities (after they were downgraded) which cost 750k and improvements to Youth Recruitment so that was nice of them. There was also a slight adjustment to our stadium which meant we'd have more seats to replace standing areas which reduced the overall capacity which only cost 65k This is how our facilities stand: Spoiler Youth intake was not the greatest, there's some potential there but the best two prospects have my most hated personality in Unambitious. Jordie Hollins looks like a good GK prospect with a great personality, but I already have a good GK and his only 29 so not in a rush to replace him. I cant see any of these prospects breaking into the first team right away, but they will get game time off the bench and when injuries and suspensions occur so hopefully that aids their development as we look to fight relegation next season. glennuk
Rein Meer AKA ReinBerg - Season 20 - Japan J1 League - Mid Season Review & Youth Intake Preview League - 12th for now We almost have as many points as we did in our maiden season in the J1 League (33). We also have a game in hand over most of the other teams in the division and have definitely seemed more comfortable this time around. I have a quiet confidence that we can stay up this year. We also this year seem to have a knack for being a bit more tenacious and getting points from losing positions. (Example below) An example of our more tenacious spirit. We were the better team and even had two disallowed goals before we went down 2-1, we equalized and then found ourselves 3-2 down. However we kept fighting and got a couple of important goals in the last 10 minutes. I just feel like we have a bit more steel this season. Other News I am still regretting selling Masahiko Iwanaga (YP10H) all those season ago. He is now a leading player in J1 League and has two national team caps to his name. He was unhappy so I didn't have a great deal of choice and it probably helped us get to where we are in some ways. Our long serving captain Naoki Kato (YP06F) has become our record appearance holder. He should be able to get above 500 in his career, although may not ALWAYS be first choice anymore. Youth Intake Preview A solid if not spectacular preview. We are at the point now where we would prefer one outstanding player, rather than 3 or 4 very good players. So let's hope the Attacking Midfielder is a future star. On that note, we decided to make a change to our HOYD. It isn't much of an improvement (if at all), but I just felt like a change may be worth looking into. Good bye Min-Hyung Park & hello Song-Ho Na Edited March 22 by glennuk

Rainbowz
New Save - Isle of Man Youth Only Hey, I'm doing a pretty unique youth-only save with my custom Isle of Man database. I know this won't be counted towards any points in the thread, but I thought it'd be a fun, difficult challenge I could dip in and out of when I'm bored. With that said, here's the start of the challenge: As Douglas Athletic finished last in Division Two last season, they're the team I'll be taking forward. Club Overview: Doulgas Athletic are a football club based in Douglas, the largest city in the Isle of Man. They were founded in 2012, though they were originally formed from a club called Police AFC who were founded in 1989. The club hasn't had much success to speak of, their only honour being Division Two champions in the 2015-16 season. After an established presence in the Premier League for a few years, they were relegated to the Division Two, where they currently remain. Douglas Athletic play their games at Groves Road, close to the Isle of Man's national stadium of The Bowl. We're predicted to finish 11th and don't really have any facilities to speak of, so we'll be building this club from the ground up. My board seems to favour youth development, which is a huge positive. There's very little expectation too, with the 5 year plan only being to establish ourselves as a 2nd division team. Seeing as there's no relegation, that shouldn't be too tough. Squad: Yikes, this is pretty rough. We clearly have a standout player, but aside from that it's looking pretty dire. For context, a 2 star player is someone considered only decent for this division. I need to hope some of the already generated players have some okay potential, because this could be a struggle Key Players: #1 | David Williamson Williamson is easily the standout of this team, and that is a testament to how poor the quality of this league is. Still, he's definitely got some attributes we can work with and he'll likely be key to any early success we have. #2 | Martin O'Toole Probably as close to a wonderkid as we're going to get at the moment, O'Toole came through the first youth intake and looks a solid youngster for this level. Hopefully he has potential to grow as if he does, he could be a key player for years to come. #3 | Matt Wright Again, this shows how dire the situation here is. Though his physicals are absolutely terrible, Wright has some decent attributes and will likely be our star defender. Tactic: We're going with really simple for the division we're in, route one and hope we have the pace to get over some of the slow defences in this league. We've got nowhere near the quality necessary to play anything fancy, so we have to play rough and hope it works. I've got a bit of irl stuff to take care of in the next weeks/months, so progress on the save won't be too frequent, but I just like to drop in and out with updates here and there. Wish me luck"

Rainbowz
Douglas Athletic 2024-25 Intake Preview We've got our first intake preview and it looks fairly promising. We're desperately in need of at least a backup keeper, and wide midfielders at CM/CAMs are always appreciated. I would've preferred a striker, but hey. I managed to convince our chairman to boost our junior coaching beforehand, which hopefully means we'll see some decent players come through. Not expecting anyone of real quality yet, but we'll see in April. Here's the HOYD, and by the, I mean literally the only one who'd join us. 20 working with youngsters is obviously massive, but uh, let's ignore the rest of his stats. I can only hope someone of quality comes along soon. Edited March 23 by Rainbowz Duplicated image

Youth Our youth intakes aren't as good as they are but that's mainly due to our first team being much better these days. 3 star CA gets described as a leading Pro Jupiler League player! Wonderkids My keeper and my Brazilian left winger! lovely stuff! Where are they now? 2044 Edition Was it a good intake? let's take a look! Riccardo Basili - sold at 18 for 1m. he then got shipped on for 24k. i got a good deal! Nilton Tavares - still in the squad. i thought he might make it but the time might have come to admit defeat Amin Saadi - I didn't think he'd be a wonderkid out of this intake but there you go. He was! First team regular, 25 Morrocan caps, lovely stuff1 Lukas Bodart - He's kinda fascinating. Easily my best youth at intake for years and years and yet...... he's not really improved at all from 16 to now. I'm so desperate to get him in somewhere I've even retrained him as an MC. Hopefully he'll be a late developer? he's still 2 star CA, 4 star Pot! career

I have to say that there was a distinct difference in results in the front half compared to the back half and I put that completely on the transfer out of our GK Tunahan Senol. Spoiler Cup: 1st Round Exit Game was mean and matched me up with Hamm United (who knocked us out last year) in the First Round. Literally 1 of 2 hard teams out of the over 100 in the cup. Anyways, we did well to hold them to a 1-1 draw to force ET where nothing happened. Then in the shootout it was our current captain Mehmet Can who missed the final penalty to send us packing. Spoiler Squad: Spoiler The team still lacks a competent striker. Feridun Altintas may look like he did reasonably well with a 12 goal return, but 7 of those goals came in the final 4 matches so for the majority of the campaign he was all but useless. His awful decisions & Composure just ruin what could be a decent striker. Ozkan Vural had two injuries this year so struggled with fitness, but started to look better at the end of the year once he learned "Round Keeper" to make up for his abysmal shooting. Mehmet Can infuriated me this year. He turned down 6 great loan offers and 3 transfers to stay at the club and then went on to score literally 1 goal for us in over 20 appearances. At least he is a decent mentor for youngsters, but both the forwards above are Professional w/ 14+ Determination and better "Big Match" ratings so they trump him. CA & Overview: Spoiler Team Data: Spoiler Statistics Excel: I'll come back to this going to be painful for the offense. Goalkeepers: I forgot to do a mid-season export of data so I don't have Senol's performance. I Did however screenshot the "season stats" blurb right when I transferred him because he was doing fantastic keeping our club up in the mid-table fight Compare this to how Levent Kuru performed when he returned to the club. Yes, other clubs made some transfers but at this level if anything the II teams will get worse when players get pulled up / loaned out. Then our team was essentially the same in every other position after the winter holiday, so this is IMO objectively inferior performance. And again, like 2 seasons ago, I have a situation where the younger keeper out on loan Adam Seman did fantastic in the Oberliga guiding Ottensen to the Hamburg Championship and into the dreaded Promotion Playoff. So I'll probably do another keeper swap. I got Seman onto a 2+3 deal so I'll at least have him till he's 28, which means most likely Kuru will spend the rest of his career with us out on loan in Turkey so he doesn't get frustrated at no gametime. Transfers: Well this was the final year for my GK and I took the risk of losing him on a free in the summer as at this level I am not expecting large payoffs from transfers. However, come December I was able to make one of the best $1 transfers ever when I got Barcelona to bite and agree to a 20% sell-on! I'm sure he was happy to go from $100 p/w to $81k p/w and move right in as the starting GK for Barcelona B. Other than him it was a bunch of loans to develop extra youngsters and ditching some poor players on frees. Only exception is Bora Gulec who I messed up and let get a non-contract after he turned 17, and before I could renegotiate it Juventus came in to take him into their U18 team. Was our 4th or 5th AML so not really an issue. Spoiler I like showing this as you can see sending these 17 & 18 year olds out on loan is actually making a meaningful difference in their development. You can see multiple players who are actually improving out there. Youth Academy Youth Intake Preview: Youth Intake: 3 Foreign nationalities is fun with an American, French & Armenian Player! I'm happy to get 2 Quality FBs that are actually naturals for each of the positions. Not the best personalities, but not horrible. YI Player Highlights: Spoiler Got a tall slow target man, doesn’t really fit my current formation but could be good for a 4-4-2 Best news is there are two high potential FBs natural for each side. Rare personality of Honest is interesting. Neither is an amazing current attribute spread, but the bar is very low for these positions. Academy Data: Professional-Ambition-Determination Graphs: Spoiler Personality and Determination are still in positive territory even with what appeared on the surface lack-luster this year. Current Ability Tracking & Total Personality: Spoiler CA has declined the past two years back towards the average before the bump-up to the Regional Division (T4). Determination of the top 5 players this year was unfortunate, but the average is still holding near the 10 target. Full Personality Pie-Chart: Spoiler Academy Overview: Spoiler Not sure why the Top 10 is repeating players at the end. Will work on that for next season. International Players: Just holidaying through the summer right after posting the season update and my rotation LB/CD/DM Adrian Brito got called up to the Dominican Republic National Team! And unsurprisingly our new Armenian youngster will get to join his nations U19 squad. Hovsepyan got to play and unfortunately Brito remained an unused substitute. Spoiler HOYD: No change. Head Coach Nothing of note. Club Finances: I thought the board takeover would be a nothing event but the new chairman is investing significant money into the club. 170k last year and his over 500k this year is actually matching our debt payments so for the first time in recent memory the club is cash flow positive! They've also stepped up their fundraising game significantly almost matching our Gate Reciepts with their fundraising. On the negative side the board significantly cut funding to the academy 2 years ago now so I expect to see a measurable drop in player quality soon. Luckily the last few intakes have been good so hopefully we can weather the storm. "Just" 7 more years till we pay off the loan... Spoiler Expenditures show that this investment more or less equals the loan repayments for the year. Can’t expect the board to do this every year, but one can hope they keep up this new level of investment for a couple seasons to slowly chip away at the massive debt. Our youth intakes will probably degrade significantly soon with such a drop in investment in the academy. And of course the good times couldn't last: Spoiler Manager Thoughts Looking forward to next season with the next GK and to have 4 young high potential defenders to finally start rotating into the starting lineup to have defensive depth. I have little hope on any of our strike prospects becoming finally good, but we have a great CAM developing. He can play striker as well, so he might actually move higher up if I can't get any of the natural strikers to play well. BilbaoBagginsFM
This is slightly off topic so apologies! I'm sure I've read in here somewhere that it's reputation that determines the likelihood of teams being promoted from non-playable divisions? Sorry but I thought that you guys would know a bit about this kind of thing! One of my reserve teams/ affiliates is in the league below playable. I'm naturally concerned about the players only playing friendlies and not real competitions. Will the game still simulate fixtures under the hood or am I better off taking these players out of the reserve team? Will they be more likely to be promoted if there are decent players in this squad?
mehesa
Békéscsabai Előre FC - Season2 (2025/26) Season results: It was a successful, but at the same time an unbelievably painful season, when the experts thought we will be relegated (15th place prognosed with 151.00 odds) and the board's expectation was to avoid relegation. Despite this we were title and promotion contenders from the start to finally finish 3rd again with 1 point off the promotion and 2 points off the title. We were on top of the table 4 games before the end, but dropped to 3rd position with a defeat away at Kecskemét and our rivals did not let us in the promotion spots after that. In the cup we made a good run into the quarter finals defeating also top team Puskás Akadémia on our way, but then came a dramatic match against later cup winners Nyíregyháza, where we took a 2-0 lead after 30 minutes, but let them come back and finally lost by an epic penalty-shootout with 8-9 (10 pairs of penalties). Spoiler Transfers: Of course, there were no transfers in, and we set some players for release from the original players (especially the ones who argued about receiving less playing time due to involving youth players). Even made some money from them. Spoiler Key players: Spoiler Boldizsár Borbély had a fantastic season: the 22 years old striker was the top goalscorer in Division II (20 goals + 4 in the cup) and received the Player of the Year award as well. The two midfielders, Máté Tóth and Ádám Váradi (along with Borbély) were able to make into the Team of the Season We have a great goalkeeper Antal Czinanó with 70% save efficiency, but I also have to add that he was injured in the season finish and our youth player from the class 2025 (Dominik Grünvald) was a good replacement in the last 6 games. I am also proudly present another guy from the class 2025 who growed to be a good first team player in the season, scoring 9 and setting up 3 goals as a left winger (rating 6.89), Ábel Benjámin Mag. He was excellent in training, with the best training rating almost all season. Youth intake: We had our first 2 elite players, both for offense, striker Zalán Horváth and right winger Zsolt Rácz, however I don't really like their personalities. But we also have some top and good talents with great personalities (mainly Fairly Professional and one Perfectionist). Spoiler Club progress: As mentioned before we were not able to gain promotion for the second time which is not really good for the finances, but the club is in healthy condition. We are not using the full wage budget, so there is room for upgrades and finally I have found the way to convince the board to invest. Our facilities started to grow and develop. Spoiler The reason of the big loss in the season is that I convinced the board to invest again into the Youth facilities. The works are starting in the summer break and will be ready in the middle of next season. Unfortunately we were not getting closer to our goals, but we gained some time to give more experience and playing time to the young talents who will be the foundation of our future success.

I'm naturally concerned about the players only playing friendlies and not real competitions. Will the game still simulate fixtures under the hood or am I better off taking these players out of the reserve team? Will they be more likely to be promoted if there are decent players in this squad? As far as I know yes Reputation is the main influence on team promotions from unplayable leagues. For the reserves question it depends on the league/nation & what exactly you loaded in the advanced rules. The bigger the nation you're playing in, the more likely the game will simulate enough to give your players the much needed game time. I'm pretty sure if you selected to add players to unplayable leagues below your league in the pregame setup the game will simulate more stats than it would otherwise (and will fill the teams you're playing against more). If the reserves are mixed into the standard pyramid (like Germany for example) for unplayable leagues you should get full match ratings as the game needs to generate sufficient data to determine who gets promoted into playable divisions. As an example I loaded up my Eintracht Frankfurt Save and you can see that players are playing League Matches for the 2nd team and also have form data even though when you go to the 2nd team there are no matches and the game doesn't even say its loaded into a league. This has lots of added North American databases but uses Vanilla Germany: Spoiler Edit: Well I looked a little more into what those matches are my players are getting match ratings for and its completely bizarre. If you look closer at those clubs our II club league played teams from Luxembourg, Malta, San Marino & Spain. Spoiler While I get Spain reserve teams (for the same logic as German ones) I really don't understand why we play the tiny league teams as well as not just German teams. Here are the leagues loaded: Spoiler Edited March 23 by WhiteCat33
BilbaoBagginsFM
Great information thank you. Yes nation is Spain so a big one. This is really tucked away under the reports tab, it's not player performance or stats but the form one! Thank you I'd have never found this. A fully playable league is obviously preferred but this shows that there are matches going on which will change how I do things.
Rainbowz
Douglas Athletic 2024-25 Season Review A decent first season, we had moments of momentum where we looked like we could threaten for promotion, but overall we lacked the quality and mid-table is probably what we deserved. Transfers: Just one transfer out, with a reserve player joining Malew's reserves. He won't be a miss. Facilities/Coaching: As mentioned, we got an upgrade to our junior coaching. That's all for now though Youth Intake: Our intake was decent if not spectacular this year, with a couple of decent players and a standout graduate. The determination levels and personalities are a bit disappointing, but at this stage of the save it's to be expected. I'm keeping all of these players, though most will fill out the reserves/u18s until I can see who's developing more than others. Intake Standouts: #1 | Peter Ford (CB) A clear standout from the bunch, at 15, Ford looks a great CB for this level. His determination and personality are a massive shame, but hopefully with some solid mentoring, we can sort them. He's definitely good enough to go straight into our first team, which should really help his development. #2 | Matthew Monks (CM) Monks looks a solid CM from this intake. He definitely has a long way to go, but his physicals are surprisingly solid for this level and he has stats he can work on. I'll keep an eye on his progress, he'll definitely slot in as a solid backup. #3 | Julian Palmer (GK) We needed a GK and Palmer gives us that backup option. Like Ford, his determination and personality are regrettable, and he's not really near first-team quality, but I can hope he improves and can give us a long-term GK option. Next Season's Thoughts: We had a better campaign than I expected and with a little more consistency, maybe we could've pushed for a promotion spot. I'm hoping with a season under our belt and some youth players developing, we can aim a bit higher next season.
